The Bourbon French website describes it as “a light, clean, fresh spicy fragrance. ”
In Marguerite, clean & fresh means soapy (i.e., aldehydes). There are also green notes, some spice (allspice? ginger? nutmeg?), what might be citronella (adds to the Ivory soap effect), maybe a bit of rose, amber, vetiver, and what March at Perfume Posse says is a note of sassafras (I wouldn’t have guessed, but now that I have a name for that note, I totally get it). There’s more to it than that, but Bourbon French likes to maintain a bit of mystery as to the exact notes. Mmm, I need more of this sort of thing in my life–easy to wear, yet satisfyingly complex.
