I definitely get the freesia and the apple — and you’d think that would be something I’d love. It is why I bought the perfume. But there’s something about the blend — maybe the amaryllis, maybe the musk — that takes me back to the late 80s early 90s and the cheap perfumes that a Jr. High age girl would have worn then. I want to like it but I just can’t.

Mantra feels very gentle and soft. Right away you can smell the freshness of the citrus and cedar but it is never sharp. Slightly peppery freesia and amyrillis float around with the fruits in a gentle musky haze that is always mellow and soft. Even so, the sillage was moderate, and I kept getting fruity, softly sweet wafts of it even 5 hours later. It feels summery and lazy; like looking at a sunny day through gauzy curtains.
Update: revisiting my sample and there is just something about this my nose dislikes after 10 minutes. Wish I could ID the note but it is just like something in the flowering trees the kids call the “stinky trees” sort of an off-ness. Sorry I can’t be more descriptive. It lies beneath the sparkly freesia and apple and ruins it for me.

So far I’ve tried 3 Eclectic Collections scents- this one, Arouse and Lingerie Silhouette, and this one is my favorite of the three. Staying power isn’t bad but could be better. Mostly I get freesia with a little bit of citrus in the opening notes. A very “blue” scent, if that makes any sense. Very fresh and the least synthetic-smelling of the 3.

This is a very light and lovely scent, over all. I agree with Sassy1 that the fruit and florals don’t really come out- with the exception of the amaryllis. It’s kind of powdery, I think that’s the musk. It doesn’t overtake the entire fragrance, though, which is good for me. There is a strong alcoholic smell when first applied and that takes more than a few minutes to go away. Once it does though, it’s a very serene, ethereal scent.I’m not overly impressed with the staying power; It’s only been 4 hours and I can barely smell it on my wrists anymore. I feel like you have to chase it. That said, this one was actually a hit with my other half.

I received a sample pack from Eclectic (thanks so much EC) and this is one of them.
I wouldn’t really call this one a floral fruity. I do get a few minutes of fruitiness but it is closer to a woody oriental, dominated by the cedar almost immediately.
It’s nice enough, but like Eclat D’Arpege, none of the other lovely notes get to develop and shine.

Based on the notes this one most be very similar to True religion perfume. I have a perfume from them called Moonstruck smells identical to Chloe with an amazing staying power. I’m thinking of perhaps trying this one in the future. I purchased mine from Amazon rather inexpensive!
