Description
Mansa is a stunning, retro take on Rosewood blending citrus, spices and other precious woods. Mansa, which translates to “King of Kings” in Mandinka (Mali), was inspired by King Musa I, now deemed to have been the wealthiest man in history with an empire that stretched across the African continent. This hand-blended, unisex fragrance oil (alcohol, phthalate & paraben free) is made from both natural and manmade ingredients sourced from the USA, UAE, and India. Mansa opens with bright citrus and leather (vegan); as the woods slowly emerge, rosewood takes center stage accented by saffron and moss.
Palace of Inspiration: The Madugu of Musa I, Mali. Mansa was launched in 2014. The nose behind this fragrance is Marlen Harrison.

I received this as a gift. Thank you Marlen, so dearly. A top five favorite of mine is D&G red cap. This scent instantly reminded me of it. Aromatic is exactly correct delphine67! It might be the coriander? It’s a bit embarrassing to wear in public though, because you want to keep smelling yourself. I easily can get caught, fake rubbing my neck so I can smell my wrist, or pulling my clothing away from my body just a bit to let the scent escape up to my nose. I hope those around me just think I have some tension in my neck or am maybe just adjusting the fall of my clothing! This will be a delight to wear, summer or winter, for formal events, and yet, still comfortable enough with overalls. For sure this is unisex. The longevity is admirable but still, I carry it with me just to experience that first instant your nose detects it. So fresh and clean, it squeaks. I won’t be forgetting about King’s Palace Perfumery anytime soon. Count me in for word of mouth….I love this!

Mansa is a aromathic smell. Fresh with the lemon and spicy with lavender. The fragrance is a unique combination of fresh and spicy, a hint of anise, a hint of clove, something woody. I smell something light flowery also, I did not smell anything like it yet, very different and special

My sample was just delivered today. I really like this very exotic creation! It is complex and develops like a classic.
It opens with a big lavender note that is kind of soapy and clean. Then come the exotic woods that are not common in anything else. To my nose, they are oddly familiar. I do not get much rosewood, yet the other woods take care of the depth. Its more masculine than unisex.
It smells like a wooden box, long forgotten by time that has just been discovered. Someone has been doing his homework on this.
I wore this to work and it lasted for several hours and was very discreet. All the time I kept thinking of old African mask in the museum. Its modern with antique overtones! I am not ranting yet, but I will be purchasing a bottle soon. Probably I will be sampling the entire catalog as Dr. Marlen is right up my alley.
