This was my first regular perfume, I wore it for years, and it was lovely. Much swoonier than pure magnolia — I think I got a lot more of the jasmine, lily, and ylang-ylang. Lush, layered, brocade-like white flowers, like the stillness at the top of the summer.

I love trying anything and everything in the scented universe! I wanted to sample this because the scent of magnolias has always intrigued me. The juxtaposition of a real magnolia blossoms scent is floral + milky with little facets of lemon which makes it strange yet totally comforting. I could huff a real magnolia blossom endlessly.
Apparently, Magnolia Purpurea was once called Magnolia Dolce. This perfume is a major white floral bustling with magnolia, lily-of-the-valley, jasmine and cyclamen. Sadly, I get very little rose, pineapple, lemon or vetiver. The ‘magnolia’ in this does not have that milky, lemon draw that I crave. It has a faint nail polish remover tone. Big florals don’t ever seem to satisfy my perfumed soul.

On me, more rose than magnolia…
