Gosh, I wish I could handle the super sweetness of this! But I just can’t. It’s just getting me. So, I gave it away to someone who likes it. 🙂

I find the patchouli in this to be very strong, and if people don’t like patchouli, they might find that this smells dirty or weird. It is kind of a polarizing combo, the strawberry & patchouli, but it isn’t the first time it’s been done (Rihanna’s Rebelle, but there are plenty of spicy notes and cacao and coffee to balance out the sweetness of the strawberry).
I used to really like this one but might pass it on to someone else since I don’t wear it much. I had it on my December Perfume Tray and touched it once. I remember first trying it and thinking it was addictive which lead me to buy it. It’s similar to lots of Bath and Body Works floral fruity scents, but with that patchouli aspect. Does remind me of a rich girly girl in a way. Maybe I’ll give it more chances in the spring before giving it away. Not mind-blowing, but a nice BBW scent. Not for everyone.

I know that not every nose is the same so don’t jump on me. There is something about this one that turns my stomach. Ugh I can’t even use this as air refresher.

Very sour strawberries, with spice . Dry down smells like stomach acid to me. I cannot handle this one. Sorry

This is a light floral which doesn’t offend. I got it in a biuy 2 get 1 free. It’s a nice fresh fruity floral. I like the pear accord.

Sweet fruity floral scent by my favorite line Bath & Body Works. This is a pretty peony on me. It’s a light floral but it has more than enough flowers to still smell like a floral perfume. A jasmine, smooth and silky, mingles with peony and white lilies. This is totally a girlish scent, despite the lack of gourmand notes. There is a very nice strawberry scent which is how it starts. The fruit topping also includes grape black currant and cassis so that it smells like a strawberry liquor or strawberry cocktail. It’s delicious. The dry down is amber with a little touch of vanilla. It smells sweet, fruity, floral, and perfect for spring time. It’s romantic, innocent, sweet and my kind of fragrance. I have the eau de parfum and body mist. The mist requires layering it with other scents or with a body lotion that has strawberry in it. Sweet sweet and tasty perfume.

Lovely berry-influenced floral splash. Sweet, sweet, sweet, best in moderate doses! I have used it in my perfume rotation for over a year and still enjoy it thoroughly.

This is my husband’s favorite scent; however, it’s one of my least favorites. The patchouli is the main note I smell, followed by the peony and black currant. Patchouli smells like body odor on me, so this scent just doesn’t work for me at all.

This is a unique scent for Bath and Bodyworks. Everything lately all smells the same and all of the good fragrances have been discontinued. To me it smells like how I think a bouquet of Peonies would smell. I can also smell the strawberry in it. Unfortunately it is not as strong or last nearly as long as I would hope it would and for $40 a bottle I’m not sure I would repurchase it. There are so many better stronger longer lasting fragrances on the market and the price is too steep for the quality. Don’t fall for the cute bottles people!!! Its what’s on the inside that counts 🙂

Got this body fragrance last winter (2014) on a whim with my sister. We both had to get our own, such a beautiful scent. We also mainly got this because we heard a lot of guys had bought this for their gfs. We figured it must be good. What captured me was its inital juiciness with florals sparkling in the background. To me this scent screams confidence, expensive taste (spoil me) and a lovely date. I love to wear this on late nights and even during the day when I need to feel like “that chick” lol. I can also definitely pick up the strawberry, peony and pink jasmine notes. One thing about it, is it’s a bit strong so I wouldn’t put on too much and it has great staying power. Love it.

i have the body mist in Mad About you. It smells like a nice combination of floral and fruity. I dont know what “pacthiolli” is suppose to smell like, so i cant give any comment on the pacthiolli note….as far as i can tell it doesnt make the perfume smell wierd or spicy..any way its a nice scent. its not really special or unique but if you like floral fruity scents then this will do the job,

One of my Fall & Winter fragrance line up because of the deeper notes of amber, musk, and patchouli. The body lotion lasts all day. I was out shopping tonight and they had a tester of Vince Camuto Vince Camuto and it only took me a few seconds to figure out it was a stronger replica of this fragrance. Maybe B&BW copied V.Camuto? Either way, if you are fan of V.C. and want a cheaper price point, go with Mad About You. With all the money you’ll save, who can be Mad About that? *wink

This scent……this scent is what got me into fragrences. At the beginning of this year, hubby and I were in the mall and stopped by BBW because I was out of lotion and I have always loved BBWs triple moisture body creams and I hadn’t had one in a while. After sniff testing I got warm vanilla sugar (which has been my go to since forever) and this one…….because it had patchouli as a note and I love patchouli.
As I got home and wore the lotion I fell more and more in love with the scent and wanted the whole collection which lead me to reviews, which led.me to notes which led me to to a mild obsession and finally venturing out of bbw land.
As for the fragrence. The strawberry, currant, and.peony are bright and right there. It’s not sugar sweet like a lot of bbw scents. The patchouli in there, man adds a smoldering sexiness to these bright, cheery notes. My husband loves it on me and he hates patchouli. I also find the scent strangely comforting in a way. It great. I love it and hope it’s never discontinued.

Usually not a huge floral person, but this one is great. Romantic. Reminds me of something kind of dated, but in a good way. I think the base of patchouli and amber makes this one for me. Unlike anything else.

At first I really liked this one because it wasn’t too sweet. After smelling it after an hour, the patchouli gave me a huge headache and made my nose hurt 🙁 Thought this one would be my favorite at first but patchouli somehow doesn’t agree with me

To me, this one manages to break the Bath and Body Works mold a bit and has more character than so many of their releases. I really smell the berries and a little patchouli and musk. I didn’t think I liked it after getting the trial bottle but I wore it around one day and went, “Ooh…I really like this.” Of course I’ve been a BBW junkie since high school. Trying to break the habit. But I love this one.

My sis just gave this to me for xmas. I finally had the courage to try it and it actually agrees with my skin! I like it a lot! Sweet but not cloying, nothing turning sour (like it sometimes does with BBW products when they combine too much sweet with too much musk). I should mention that I’m using the Diamond Shimmer Mist version, not the actual perfume. that’s OK, the mini glitters are fun!
I would say this is a nice balanced “warm pink” smell – the berries aren’t overwhelming and I think the florals are well selected to blend it all together. I’m detecting cedar too, just a little, not too dry – must be the amber wood combined with the musk and peony (?) – I’m new at note detection.
EDIT: Dang, I got tired of it quickly. Must be the musk. 🙁 Gave it to teen daughter.

Love it madly! is definitely sweet enough to me! i also found some sour candy on it… it’s sexy!

LOVE this! It’s one of the newer ones in my collection, but I already know I love it. I bought the body cream a while back, and wore it almost every day through out the summer. It smelled almost florally, but not quite- I feel like carried away is a florally scent. This is more sweet. When I wear the perfume I could definitely smell the strawberries at first, then it settles into a nice warmer kind of scent. Love!

I smelled this on someone else and asked what they were wearing, which I rarely do!
When I received mine I was a little disappointed, as it is very fruity right away. To me it smells like green apples for the first minute or so. I don’t like fruity!
Fortunately, that scent fades almost immediately. Then it is very soft and woodsy, which I love, love, love!
    Very nice!

I love this perfume and the lotion the smell is awesome i get compliments all the time i love sweet smelling perfumes

  23. :

I love it! I do not like vanilla anything and I detect none at all. More of a woodsy/amber scent which is my favorite. I have the lotion, bath gel and spray. Does not last a super long time, but is light enough to reapply without becoming overpowering. Give a spritz to my hair also. Inexpensive as well. I am over 40 and it is very becoming. Not just for the younger crowd!

oh not bad its actually sweet strawberries bright yet full its deep yet crisp its almost incensy its full of berries full of sweet memories its a night strawberry scent something u might also want to drink but not as refreshing its more of a strawberry jam scent a nice home made jam ..
it dries to some deeper woodsy berries almost velvety almost sugary actually very sugary sweet as in candy sweet..good for layering
still that candle waxy synthetic background accord lingers to annoy me ..what to do we have to embrace the new era of synthetics with a smile

Sweet floral blend, a good “around the house” or a run to the grocery store inexpensive scent.

I bought a small bottle of this about a month and a half after it launched, and I have to say that I like it, but I’m not overly impressed by it. It smells sugary and fruity like so many other B&BW fragrances, and it is overall nothing special. I’ll use up the sample bottle for sure, but I probably won’t be re-purchasing.

  27. :

Another sweet fragrance , I have just had it with all these sweet, sugary, pink perfumes .. My favourite and only scent I like from bbw is cotton sea island yet its silage and longivity is very weak , so this company is not where i get my perfumes period.

  28. :

    4 out of 5

Smells almost identical to another B&BW scent-Pink Chiffon. This one might be a touch sweeter, but one could easily interchange them, and no one but you would know.
So,in that respect,I would say if you have one,no need for the other, unless you feel the need to own every B&BW scent ever made.
As I explore new scents, and my tastes mature,I find this one to be redundant, and my irritation at the company grows with each new release.I agree wholeheartedly that they have taken old,and honestly boring fragrances, put them in prettier packaging, and passed it off as a “new” scent.Meanwhile, classics like Magnolia Blossom and Charmed Life get discontinued, much to our dismay.I say bring those beloved old scents back, and quit trying to fool us with big shiny pink packaging! It may work on the 12 year olds, but us grownups want something truly original.Perhaps it’s time I gave up on B&BW,as I may be *gasp* too old for it now!

I love this scent! It smells like something you would give a young girl for Valentines day. Sweet but with a fresh and bold floral scent. I wish it lasted a bit longer, especially since they were supposed to have reformulated their sprays to last longer.

I got this because it reminded me of Halle by Halle Berry (one of my favorite perfumes from 2009). I want it to smell amazing. I’ve had it since Valentines Day and worn it only three times. It’s kind of overwhelming, and gives me a headache or makes me nauseous after a while. It’s like after an hour or two my own scent makes me sick. I guess it doesn’t match with my chemistry, because I end up smelling like Robitussin.
    Pass!

  31. :

The packaging is adorable, and that’s the only positive feedback I have about this scent. I’m a lover of gourmand, but B&BW has gone off the deep end of cloying lately. This fragrance represents everything their company has been doing of late: stepping up the packaging, lowering the maturity of the juice inside, making them sweeter, younger, more synthetic than the last.

  32. :

Nothing “Mad” about this fragrance at all. I found it quite boring and bland! It smells just like every other Bath and Body Works scent that they’ve been releasing for the past few years: a synthetic floral fruitchouli (with little-to-no patchouli in it anyway). I was hoping the jasmine and patchouli would feature more prominently, but they are barely there, just swamped by the exceedingly average fruity notes.

  33. :

Remember the Sweetheart Collection? I feel like this is that, repackaged, slightly reformulated to combine one or two of that line together. Not bad, but I much preferred Honey Sweetheart and already had the scent. So if you miss the Sweetheart line, this might be worth checking out for a 2nd chance.

I like this scent . I smelled it in the shower gel and thought it was divine. I bought the spray which has a light fruity and fresh scent. I think I smell strawberry….and strong florals. It smells like a powerful fresh shower……like amazing soap or expensive salon shampoo. Unfortunately, it has very weak lasting power. You have to layer this if you want it to last or spray Ur hair. ..what I really like about this is that it is more mature of a scent.

  35. :

I love this tartly sweet frag. Unfortunately, ill have to try to not get attached bc B&BW tends to discontinue a lot…..-_-. This fruitcholi is fresh and tart; not cloying at all. I smell sour strawberry and peony. Its not sophisticated but its flirty and femenine iin a fun way. More tart than sweet

smells very pretty, shame it fades right away. Extremely poor staying power, had to return it to the store :c

I bought the small sample bottle back in February but did not give it more than a test whiff and set it aside. I’m not sure why I waited so long to give Mad About You a good try. Maybe it was because the weather was still so cold and this seems to be more of a spring/summer scent. Anyway, I have recently started wearing it and love it! So light, fresh, and fruity. Just an extra tip. Mad About You does not seem to last very long on the skin. I tend to also give my hair a good spritz of it. Seems to me the scent holds longer on my hair.

  38. :

I really enjoy Mad About You. It’s sweet but not as candylike as Be Enchanted, for example, hence it’s more suitable for daytime/office wear.
The peony blends well with a very realistic blackcurrant/strawberry accord. I like the blackcurrant because it’s different from the usual fruits one finds in mainstream fruity-florals. The drydown is somewhat spicy with a tiny hint of musk, almost unisex, actually. I could see an adventurous man trying Mad About You.
The trick to making this scent last is overspraying, and possibly layering with the other products in the line. The shimmering body cream, which comes in a can like whipped cream, is very nice indeed.
I achieved a moderate/”long-lasting” longevity and a moderate sillage. Many people complemented me on my perfume, but no one said it was excessive.

This is nice. The sales associate suggested I try it and she sprayed on a card that I carried around sniffing until I was hooked. Got the lotion and wouldn’t mind the edt for my purse. Fruity but not overly sweet. It has a fresh spicy hint that makes it more enjoyable for me.

@AMNA723, kutos! i agree..! and this is not as sweet as velvet sugar at all…this is close to Amour amour but more frutier…velvet sugar is britney fantasy sweet and the drydown is like candles…this is sparkly clean.

I just grabbed this as i was getting some small gifts and i had a coupon 20% off so this was wayy cheap and got a free lotion…and the edt was already on sale for 20 bucks plus my coupon..steal!!..its fruity, fresh and its not heavy sweet ..which i was afraid of..so here is a fun bubbly scent…great for after the gym, or hangin with the girlfriends for lunch..etc. overall , fun scent.

I bought a few sample bottles of this via mail from BBW last week and have to say I rather like it. I’m usually not crazy about black currant, but this is done tastefully. It mixes with my chemistry very nicely, and while the sillage isn’t much, it does last a good while on the skin and longer on clothing and hair. For a BBW, I’d have to say that along with Forever Red and Amber Blush, this is a keeper.

  43. :

I smelled this today at my local BBW. It’s pretty, but it reminds me of Dark Kiss only a little more sweeter. I will eventually get this, but I’m not gonna pay full price for it. Usually there is a seller on eBay that sells legit BBW eau de toilette’s a few months after they are relaesed and I will wait for that.

I’ve smelled Mad About You which is supposed to be in stores February 3rd. It’s the Valentines collection, when I thought Velvet Sugar should of been for Valentines Day. It’s very similar to Velvet Sugar. I can smell some differences though. I smell the White Patchouli ( which isn’t overbearing ) It’s acutally enjoyable for those who really don’t like Patchouli much , Strawberry, Mint, Musk, Vanilla and Black Current. I think Mad About You is the mature version of Velvet Sugar aimed at a slighty older crowd, than Velvet Sugar is. Overall I give Mad About You a 7/10, because I’m not a huge fan of patchouli, it really depends on how well it goes together with the other notes like how Katy Perry Killer Queen is. I think this perfume is good for day, and night. This lasts between 4, and 6 hours on me, which is good for a EDT.

Very pretty smell, feminine, sweet but very bearable! Cute little bottle that’s perfect to throw in your bag. I’ve gotten many compliments on this fragrance.
