A beautiful woody (teak) with lavender, cardamom, coriander and a lemon citrus hint on the dry down. This would easily be described as a Citrus Green Aromatic. Bright but warming, nice on a summers evening great on a cold winters day. Reminds me as a kid in the supermarket opening up the dried spice bottles to smell when I was bored!
I’ve got two bottles bought about 15 years ago – the second was to stock up and must’ve been reformulated and smells far stronger and intense.
This introduced me to what was to become my largely favourite type of smell hence why I love YSL Live Jazz, Ralph Lauren Romance Silver and Versace Green Jeans.
Guy Laroche Horizon would be a less complicated cousin.
Sadly they are all gone. Thank god for Bond No.9 Riverside which is a stronger identical replica of Silver except the finishing tea leave scent is replaced with a to me a slightly synthetic finish – I don’t know how to describe it yet.
It turns out that spraying Live Jazz and this just now on each arm shows up how remarkably similar they are.
Luciano Soprani at its best IMO.
RIP

this is a fine fragrance.. a classic clean yet deep.. it has a very strange trail of almost oud ..in the back ground.. highly unrecognizable.. its a strange clean cut mixture of very modern ..with very oriental.. its almost like the armani line.. with that architectural schema.. yet its more diverse.. more daring.. its a unique perfume.. its almost cold.. in the midst of all the depth of passion.. its almost bright beneath all the darkness.. its lumines.. its full of spice.. maybe cardamon which can be sometimes mistaken for oud oriental vibes
let it cool and develop and it takes you some where else.. in to the realms of arabia..the initial spray is very modern clean almost antiseptic.. cool ..yet full potent.. array of musky.. woodsy.. airy ..almost aquatic.. new frechness… masculine.. with hints of slight notes of background amber and resins.. balsams..myrh.. and warmth
settels down to a tame almost mastic smelling clean yet deep and unanoying accord of pure seduction in a discreet way in a cool way a perfume that exudes linear charm ..imagine a handsome man in a tux wearing without the tie!
