I dont know, i have this for testing and it awakens something in me, my nose does not get the rose, it gets a green note, luminous, a green small lake with weird aromatic black moss somewhere in Middle Earth, it gives me energy when i smell it and i feel like screaming, seriously this is awesome.
I think i like it so much that it is unbearable, definitely a must have.

This is such a beautiful and unique rose scent for spring and Summer. I love the green cassis note with the rose, it evokes the smell of tomato leaf, which is one of my absolute favorite green notes, probably due to gardening and growing many tomato plants. I get the impression of sitting in a cool dewy (not aquatic), shady garden along a river filled with blooming roses and growing tomato plants. So lovely.

When a rose is turned into a fragrance, only the flower is used while its stem and leaves are thrown away. With L’Ombre dans L’Eau, the story is entirely different .
It opens green, not pleasant herbal green but bitter, astringent, almost unbearable green, like a blast of crushed leaves and tree sap. The greenness gradually fades and the rose blooms, but the bitterness is still quite strong. It’s really different from other rose scents, which are often lightened and sweetened. To me, L’Ombre dans L’Eau is a realistic depiction of a freshly pruned rose garden.
Scent: This fragrance smells unique and probably synthetic to some. It’s definitely not a safe blind buy. It’s unisex, but more suitable for women above 25.
Performance: It lasts over 8 hours and projects moderately for the first half. 1-2 sprays are good.
Occasion: It’s good for many occasions during warm seasons.

A few months ago, in the dead of winter, I tried a sample of L’Ombre parfum and felt indifferent. The dominant cassis note felt out of place. Tried it again today and did a 360: this is the best green cassis and rose scent I have ever smelled. I need it, so pulled the trigger and bought a bottle.
It still reminds me of YSL “in Love Again”, a perfume I loved and wore in the 90’s. But this feels less, due to a lack of a better word, abrasive. I can imagine I’m in a aromatic French garden filled with roses, grapes and figs. It feels so natural.
I’m surprised by my turn-around. Incredible longevity and moderate projection. I’m looking forward to wearing this uplifting scent in the Spring and Summer.
