Ellen Covey has nosed a very wearable spicy jasmine scent with Little Stars. I enjoyed every drop of my sample. High quality. UNISEX to my nose. Wears close to skin on me. As always, YMMV.

Smoky rootbeer at first, then some sharp medicinal scent from the resins I imagine. The florals start to peak through and it’s much sweeter and well blended in the dry down, but the opening is jarring and doesn’t seem to fit with the drydown. It’s like two entirely different scents.

I just applied this and I am getting the bitter/herbal scent that the other reviewers have described. It’s slightly medicinal and plasticky (I’m not really liking this stage, but I’ll hang in there to see what happens). As it begins to dry down the woody notes start to develop along with a hint of clove. After another few minutes I’m beginning to get jasmine in the background. The bitterness has all but disappeared and I’m starting to enjoy this quite a bit 🙂 Finally the amber and oudh appear in the background to give this a warm, smoothness. I think I like this now, but that was quite a journey!
In the end I do like this a lot. It’s more masculine than I usually go for, but I think I would buy this.

So the lid was on tight, and I struggled, and it sprayed all over! on my hands, eyelids and face. But guess what? I’m fine! No reaction even near my eyes! I’m not quite sure what the medicinal thing is… I don’t smell it. It’s woody, yes. Super woody. But it’s also lush, ylang ylang, orange, jasmine heavy. indolent maybe. I got some on my shirt, and damn! oh take me to the jungle! Minty? Anisey? Nope and nope. maybe a touch of oud. maybe. it could be the nard they’re smelling. Oh so intoxicatingly fresh. the resins tone down the wetness, and balance everything out. how can you go wrong for 2$ people! buy and try them all, you won’t find this quality for the price anywhere! Very unisex, wearable by anybody in my opinion! A good blind buy. On me the woods persist and really project. An interesting experiment, but I’m still undecided on the FB…

Wow!! What a perfume! Opening heavy on the ylang ylang, then clove, and orange, the immediate application reminds me of pure ylang ylang essential oil, but then weaves its way in and around the other notes. Heavy Jasmin, Orange flower, and resin equally balanced in the top and heart, with light woodsy notes in the base, an overall beautiful blending of harmonious notes that complement and potentiate each other wonderfully! The Ylang Ylang is probably the most prominent note, its heavy, hypnotic, and lulls the senses into a dreamy accord, the cedar being what keeps this indolent, lush perfume slightly fresh. Oud very hard to detect, perhaps adding to the slightly medicinal quality that the clove offers. Moreover the clove keeps it spicy and resin only enhances that spice, resin also giving an overture of warmth in the freshness of the cedar and heavy night accord of the ylang ylang, with beautiful florals floating around. I can totally see tropical rainforest on a summer night in this fragrance.
Sillage is very low, to skin within an hour or so, and longevity perhaps a few hours, would probably need reapplication some time if long time wear is required.
This is not exactly original, it has a very common blend of notes often found and used extensively in aromatherapy, and is a probable safe purchase. The depth of character of the notes in this perfume implies quality and this perfume, original or not, is absolutely fantastic. A must for summer night wear and totally full bottle worthy!

There was something slightly bitter/herbal in the opening that I didn’t like, but I can barely remember it now because it was fleeting and I’m now enraptured by the drydown and can’t stop smelling my wrist. This is masterfully blended in such a way that it’s more than the sum of its parts and I’m having difficulty talking about individual notes. The woods pull it in one direction and then the florals into another. You can’t pin it down! It strikes a great balance at the axis of warm spicy, woody and floral. The citrus is not prominent, and I couldn’t pull it out as an individual note, but it’s giving it a bit of verve and sparkle and mitigating any potential flatness. Original!
EDIT: I’ve gone back to investigate this opening so that I can describe it better. It’s very herbal, slightly medicinal and there is something ‘cool’ in it (mint? anise?)It reminded me of that smell that hits you when you walk into a health food store – a mishmash of different dry, bitter herbs. Still don’t like it; it lasts about an hour. This will be one of those that I strategically apply an hour before leaving the house. Drydown still fantastic.
