I’m on a quest to find a replacement for Yardley’s LOTV, which has been ruined by the new formulation. Had high hopes for Woods of Windsor’s version, but on me it has an unpleasant soapy or plastic note that overshadows the florals. Too bad.

I wanted to like this, I really did. Smelled sour, peppery, and very cloying on me. Guess I’ll just stick to smelling actual lilies in a garden. This was nauseating, maybe others would like/love it, just not for everyone.

A dryLOTV that is true to the flower. Much better than Coty for lasting power.

Definitely clean and crisp at the first spray, lily of the valley it is, I’ve worn this for hours, nothing else came to my nose. Longevity is nice much to my surprise when it’s an EDT.

Lovely clean, fresh scent. I don’t think I’ve ever really smelt lily of the valley before, but I shall be sure to when they come up in my garden. This smells like gardens in spring to me, early morning when the grass is still damp with dew. Hints of spring flowers drifting on the breeze.
Lingers a fair while. Lovely to spray on before bed for peaceful dreams. Really impressed by this for the low price, it has much more depth than the Yardley version.

Did you ever notice that for such a tiny little flower, the scent of a Lily of the Valley could OVERWHELM YOUR SENSES? It’s as though she knows her life as a flower is so brief; her tiny size so easily overlooked. She must make a bold statement, and fragrance is her language.
It seems that LOTV flowers appear in the most magical moments of my life: playing in the dirt in my grandparent’s yard when I was a child.. My wedding day.. The early phase of springtime when I look at the returning flora and fauna as if I’m seeing it for the very first time..
Surely a sensitive nose would intuit that LOTV is best experienced as a whole: flower, stem, and leaf.. Woods Of Windsor apparently knows this. Their blend is so realistic. Close your eyes and let the daydreams wash over you. Could you feel the cool earth? Can you sense dark green stems and leaves? Are your daydreams populated by tiny bell-shaped flowers awaiting your whispered secret wishes?

People who are sensitive to white flowers, beware. I don’t know if my bottle of this went sour, or if I developed a sensitivity between the time I bought it and now, but I had to give it away recently.
I love the smell of lilies of the valley in my garden. But I just can’t put it on my skin (unless it’s VERY well blended with other notes and not too much musk). When I put this perfume on I smell strong, nauseating, headache-inducing, throat-parching white flowers, followed by strong musk and a burnt-plastic smell. Can’t do it. After a while I couldn’t even use this perfume as a room spray.
It is, however, very fresh right out of the bottle, and very true to the flower.

I love lily of the valley scents as they are so rich and floral with a citrus-y touch. Woods of Windsor is no exception. I find it more sophisticated than Yardley’s version and more long lasting, but rather too musky and a bit cloying. Good value for money though.

My love affair with Lily of the Valley (or quite cynically called ‘devil’s own flower’) has a long history. It’s not native to my home town, however, our first tête -à- tête was during one fortunate summer vacation in the Himalayan slopes. The caretaker cum gardener of the guesthouse that my dad had rented was a genteel soul who had impressive repertoire in his gardening skills. The crowning glory of his marvelous garden was definitely the huge patch of Lily of the Valley. I think, I got imprinted on LotV since our love at ‘first smell’ and since then I have had at least a sniff of every perfume with LotV that I can get my hands on! Diorissimo (not the latest screeching monstrosity! and for the record, I do hate IFRA) is my first bottled lover in that sense and no matter how much I adore others, I will always be faithful to it.
So, why this particular LotV you ask? Simply because it’s unfettered devotion of being a bright and fresh LotV. It sits close to my skin, and reminds me of burying my nose in a bunch of LotV. Here in Germany, May Day is not fulfilled without Maiglöckchen in a vase and on me! Cheers!

Natural sounds much than Fleur de Cristal Lalique. But it is very quiet, and flies in a couple hours. But the approach to freshen up after a shower, or so, purely for themselves, for a walk with the children, or in the country in the spring, when everything starts to bloom, the flowers bloom, so as not to interrupt their scents, but at the same time to be in tune with nature.

P.S. I hve two bottles of White Jasmine(not displayed in the panel). It is greatly gorgourous. Life is as simple as that.

this product has had a revamp. top notes are now white lily, mimosa, lemon & orange; heart notes are lily of the valley, geranium & may blossom; base notes are sandalwood & amber musk.
I had a quick sniff in a shop today, it is beautiful & fresh. I also had a smell of ‘white jasmine’ (not in fragantica), which was absolutely gorgeous!

A green lily of the valley, fresh, sort of crisp but soft at the same time and beautiful. Woods of Windsor’s perfumes have good staying power and they are perfect for daily wear and casual wear. I personally like their retired Forget Me Not perfume which is simply lovely the best, (more than this one which is a little green for my taste) but all the same I do highly recommend it.

I bought this perfume because I am a big fan of this flower. In fact, I bought lily of the valley-based perfumes from various designers so far. My first one has been Diorissimo – great perfume. And I’ve decided to try others. So I’ve found Woods of Windsor’s perfume which I find perfect: subtle and elegant. I also have Yardley’s, Taylor of London’s and Crabtree’s lily of the valley perfumes, but as far as I’m concerned this one (WoW) tops the first two. Yardley smells too artificial for me, Taylor does not last long and now I am waiting for the Crabtree.

this is a lovely fresh green smell, it makes me think of the english countryside on a warm day in the middle of summer. i smell a lot of things besides lily of the valley, i have another spray bottle from bronnley, another english make which actually smells more of lily of the valley than this one. the bronnley has a feeling of a wood in england in springtime, the lily lasts longer. in the woods of windsor i also smell freshly cut grass and something earthy, it’s like standing in the shade of trees at the edge of a wood, with a view of a cornfield, a little bubbling stream not far away, a lark singing, and a view of gently rolling hills in the distance. could also be a village green with a cricket pitch. anyway, this is for me really and truly england at it’s best.
