Nice, but doesn’t last long. Yes, its a cheapie and i didnt expect much but its a good smelling frag. For summer use only.

There’s just something vaguely unpleasant about it. Not good. Not horrible. Just kind of there. In terms of quality, this could have just as easily been a $5 fragrance from Rue 21. Honestly, I’m a fan of the Nautica house in general, but this is the least impressive fragrance they have released in years. Cool bottle though.

I do not get much out of this one. Starts citrusy and then migrates to a water/musk scent. I enjoyed the original Life a lot, so I’ll pass.

More garbage from Nautica. They’ve had some intresting releases in the past, but that was in the 90’s. Anything released from them today is a garenteed cash grab. Maybe they should take a look at Avon for some much needed inspiration and creative insight.

Nautica has discontinued Harry Fremont fragrances in their portfolio that sell for $200 on ebay. And they release an even crappier flanker of the already crappy Life. Last year prices for Life fell faster than a dead man with cement boots pushed off the plank. This new flanker will die faster than Edison could kill his elephants. Future Ross closeout fragrance. Watch and see. And Fremonts gem Longitude sits with its formula vaulted. Nautica has become water with a price tag.

    Didn’t smell Life, so I can’t compare flankers…
At first spray, I thought it was really familiar – usual citrusy aquatic with woody undertones. I don’t get the herbal/green/floral notes at all.
It reminded me of Givenchy Blue Label with less wood, initially. Then it took a turn to Cool Water Deep and the Blue Roots for Him fragrance I can’t find here. All except the Blue Label are Coty frags so I wonder if they have a formula they really like revisiting?
I purchased a 1.7oz for really cheap like 10$- do I regret? Yes even though it was a crazy good deal. I just won’t wear it and will probably hand off asap.
In this genre of frags, I will continue to wear Versace Pour Homme over everything, maybe Hugo Red if I want to feel a bit fresher.

::sigh:: Well, here we are again. Another yawn-inducer from Nautica. This one is particularly disappointing because I was really hoping I would like it.
I never wrote a review for “Life” because my review for “Voyage N-83” would work equally as well. It was inoffensive, clean and fresh but completely boring and unmemorable, which begged the question “Why release this?”. Sadly, uninspired and boring seems to be the modus operandi for everything Nautica has released since the original “Voyage”, and that trend does not seem to be changing anytime soon I fear.
Considering the marketing and fancy packaging Nautica put into “Life”, I had really hoped for something unique, but was left disappointed. So, when I heard they were releasing a flanker so quickly, I was eager to try it out, hoping it would finally be something noteworthy. Well, I’m sorry to say, again, we have been let down.
There’s not much to say about “Life Energy” because it smells virtually identical to “Life”. Once again, I simply cannot understand why this exists. Where Voyage N-83 smelled nothing like the original Voyage, this is the exact opposite: it smells exactly like Life. The only difference is that it is a bit spicier; there is a note that comes across to me as very reminiscent of cinnamon. I do like this note, as it adds at least a minuscule element of intrigue to the composition, which the original Life is wholly lacking. As such, if you were to have to choose between the two, “Life Energy” is the superior formulation. But overall it only takes it from being a boring scent to a mostly boring scent. Once again, your money is better spent on Voyage (which happens to be cheaper, anyway).
To give credit where it is due, I will say the sillage and longevity are both great on this. It is not overpowering, but it remains definitely noticeable. You will catch whiffs of it from your arms as you go about your day, but you never feel like you are drowning in it. Longevity is good, I sprayed some on at the mall over 4 hours ago and it is still going strong. It certainly is not a fragrance that dissipates to a skin scent anytime soon. For what it’s worth, it smelled better on a testing card than on my skin proper, so maybe others will have better luck with it.
Nautica is probably my favorite clothing and lifestyle brand, and Voyage is one of my absolute favorite fragrances, so I will continue to remain optimistic that they will eventually produce something great again. As it stands, disappointment after disappointment is starting to take it’s toll. And since Life Energy just came out, it will probably be at least a year or two until we see a new original fragrance. Hopefully the next original will be another home run. Until then, I will continue to keep my trusty bottle of Voyage close by.
