This is a nice perfume, and I’m glad I got it. I really wanted to finally get a marine/aquatic perfume, and this is definitely that. Aquatic scent very prominent for quite a while. After a couple hours the aquatic scent fades a bit, leaving it pretty sweet smelling from the fruits and flowers. My husband immediately thought it smelled masculine due to the aquatic scent, but I don’t think it’s that masculine. I like it better than the original Issey but not better than the Issey Lotus. I haven’t smelled a ton of other aquatics to compare this too unfortunately, but it does seem very pleasant and easily likable.

So I ordered the 2013 edition online but they sent the 2014 edition, which is fine, I wanted to try it anyways! It smells near identical to the 2013, just a bit lighter! Love my issey miyake!

Oh I should just give up and accept that I am a Issey Miyake perfume person. Ive done days of research on several occasions and visited perfume shop lately like 4-5 times and tried everything else but Issey Miyake stuff, but once you like it, you don’t like anything else any more I guess. So I gave up and got the latest Summer edition…and as they really are very similar, by the time this one runs out, the new one will be in shops and I don’t have to worry its a limited edition. I’d like an adults bottle though.

Isn’t this pretty close to the same juice as the original? I say this because the first words out of my mouth were “smells like CK Escape!”
So not much to say. Clearly the strategists at Issey Miyake are catering to a loyal customer base of consumers who actually like this fruity-aquatic smell. A lot. The bottles may be collected by some people as well, though to be honest this one looks pretty tacky–at least from the online image. I guess that I did not bother to pick up the bottle when I got this sample from Sephora. I just asked for the latest three Issey Miyake flankers. What a glutton for punishment I am.
I suppose that the bottle could be considered an apt tribute to contemporary society in the year 2014, which has become essentially an endless stream of selfies, violence, and internet-transmitted trivia about celebrities who are famous for being famous.

It’s the exact same fragrance as last year. No difference at all. What they do for these summer scents is that if it succeeds as a seller, they use the same juice for 2-3 years, just change the bottle.

I love oceanic perfumes, but I find that the sea notes in this one are definitely discordant.
I seem to smell a rotten fish thrown in the midst of a fruit salad. I don’t like it at all.

I was comparing summer fragrances at Sephora today and this and the new Alien were the winners. I have very dry skin that soaks up perfume. Both of these are Edts and perform better than some Edps. I sprayed one spray each on the back of each hand at lunchtime. Almost 7 hours later with handwashings, I can smell a faint trail of both. The Issey is beachy, litchi sweet, but not too sweet. Really lovely and light, but not diluted. It has almost a lily pond water quality and I like it as much as last year’s summer entry, but for different reasons. A very pretty fragrance.

I just purchased this from Macy’s about a week ago and I really like this one.First of all if you read my reviews I love anything ocean, beach or tropical inspired.I can also be a sucker for beachy packaging as well. This bottle is just adorable! The scent is similar to last years but better.I bought last years and ended up returning it.This year I smell more ocean water and the longevity is much better.I sprayed 1 spray on my inner arm and could still smell this 5 hours later. My only disappointment is that with all the fruit notes I was hoping it would smell more fruity but all the notes are kind of blended all together with the aquatic vibe being the strongest note on my skin. This is a fresh yet warm aquatic. You could wear this day or night. There is something elegant about this fragrance as well.I like this version better than the original issey because this one is not musky just a warm woodsy slighty vanillic base that brings to mind warm sun on skin after you have been in the ocean or lake all day.I would not wear this scent in cooler weather. This needs warm air and balmy weather for the salty ocean vibe to really shine. My husband really liked this one as well.If you like woody oceanic fragrances def give this one a try!
