Soft and gentle. Dried lavender blossoms and neroli. Reminds of a little french boutique that I frequented years ago. This smells like the wonderful french toiletries that filled the shelves. So pretty and very comforting. Excellent for spring and summer. I love wearing it to bed.

A very bright sweet citrus fragrance that also expelled a faint barbie doll plastic scent when settled on my skin. Smells very much like a higher end version of ‘Body’ by Victoria Secret. Additionally, it sticks like glue onto skin. By that I mean you have to come quite close to smell it. In that way this scent is like a citrus hug (the dry down is quite soft) meant for you and only you. If fragrances were people, this one would be a warm and cheerful friend you invite over when you need a pick-me-up or some general doses of positivity.

Delicious! This isn’t a traditional citrus scent. The open is a hint of chardonnay and grapefruit, but after the drydown, I smell a combination of lavender and ocean breeze. As others have noted, this isn’t a strong scent, which I prefer–I don’t want people ten feet away able to smell my wrists. Definitely an everyday spring and summer scent.

I wear L’eau de l’Hermine for several years now, always when I need a soft and unaggressive perfume. It is a clean white musc with strong and pretty notes of neroli/petit grain, grapefruit and lavender- beautifully blended, smelling totally natural. A bit like Serge Lutens Clair de Musc but stronger on the neroli and with a slight gourmande base (the heliotropin I guess).
I find all the Lostmarc’h perfumes (those I know at least) are like that- natural, simple but unoffensive and above all, really enjoyable. I have absolutely no detergent- or kindergarden-association with it and even if I normally like my perfume more complicated, I sometimes long for Lostmarc’hs easiness.

The smell of public childcare centers: liquid hand soap, laundry detergent, and a little bit of bleach mixed with water for cleaning up tables after snack time. I’ll pass.

Hermine or Stoat as it called is a small animal native to Eurasia and North America. This cute animal was the inspiration of L’Eau de l’Hermine.L’Eau de l’Hermine opens with juicy bergamot and continues with heliotrope.I don’t get any lavender, that’s weird because it is considered as a lavender scent. Eventually it gets muskier and sweeter. On my skin it’s mostly clean musk, heliotrope with a hint of bergamot. It reminded me of a lighter version Trussardi Donna 2011 and Bvlgari’s Omnia Amethyste(must be the heliotrope note in it)It misses the ‘wow’ factor and the lasting power is pretty bad.One hour on skin, maybe less,no sillage.Like Lann-Ael it is weak and transparent.Such a pitty..

This one opens as a strong citrus scent, grapefruit and limes, lemons. Fresh and pleasant but too intense on the citrus to make me want to wear this a lot.
The drydown is nicer, bringing in the lavender and heliotrope and musk notes. I like it very much, but just not sure I can handle an hour or 2 of heavy citrus waiting for that lovely drydown.

Out of the bottle (5 ml mini) L’Eau de L’Hermine smells like 4711 classic – maybe a teeny bit less intense.
On my skin I notice lavender, cool and very aromatic, and fresh and green bergamot and lemon. Within a few minutes the initial lemoney freshness is replaced with the slightly bitter aroma of neroli.
The lavender note remains strong and aromatic.
As the fragrance develops the lavender becomes less prominent while a sweet, floral note comes through. All of a sudden, L’Eau de L’Hermine has become a transparent-floral with a hint of sweetness.
The drydown kicks in soon and at this point L’Eau de L’Hermine smells like the most fabulous skin scent ever – simply dreamy and divine.
Unfortunately I have to – literally – press my nose against the back of my hand to be able to actually smell the perfume. 🙁
Longevity (lasts less than one hour) and projection (almost non-existent) are very disappointing; I think L’Eau de L’Hermine is the “weakest” fragrance I have ever sampled.
Scent-wise L’Eau de L’Hermine is full-bottle-worthy but due to the fragrance not being noticeable from one inch away I will not spend money on it.
My husband offered himself as a guinea pig, too, but the result is the same on his skin.

Very fresh and summery scent.
Opens with lots of citrus, grapefruit and orangeflower are prominent.the drydown is nice, light lavender and a bit musky to. It is not a overpowering scent to wear. But light and fresh perfect on a hot spring or summers day.

Dab dab and my nose approaches my wrist.
Citrus. Lots of it. Grapefruit, something lemony, quite sharp and acidic. There is a hint of lavender in the background, and a nice, herbal touch. But overally, I think I have smelled it all before at least a few times.
Citrus fragrances are dangerous in a way when they easily turn tart and risk smelling like washing liquid. L’Eau de hermine is not that bad, but to be fair, it is a boring fragrance. So boring I wonder whether it is not a waste of time writing about it. That’s it, I’m almost over.
I have sampled citrus fragrances that are a lot nicer (L’Eau de Hadrien, Genes) and maintain the same mood. This one is just pleasant, but usual and fails to impress.

I just got the sample. I love it. Probably the freshest scent I’ve ever used. Finally found my favorite scent but it fades too quickly for the price. Wonderful though. I don’t think you could overdo this.

Tried this fragrance twice on my skin…the first time was in the morning and it just smelled of fresh citrus and lavender…the second time (in the evening) it smelled completely different on me. More powdery (perhaps the heliotrope?) Quickly dried into a very soft white musk, and before long it’s vanished without a trace.

I really love this fragrance, it very nice, very unusual. For me it is a fragrance of childhood dream.
