This is a vintage french fragrance as well, classic, and stimulates the french heritage. Aristocratic and sophisticated with it’s heavy patchouli, and thick amber which gives the dark effect of agarwood. There is a mild sweet with sandalwood, and some slight roses. After awhile it turns powdery.
The blend is vintage and the method used to blend is quite a myth but Barry made it possible by bringing this fragrance up.

FRAGRANCE REVIEW FOR L’EAU DE GEORGE SAND MAISON NICOLAS DE BARRY
Top Notes: Bergamot Sicilian Lemon
Middle Notes: Rose Patchouli Sandalwood
Base Notes: Amber Musk Oud
George Sand is a unisex fragrance and that makes perfect sense. The author Miss George Sand, Frederic Chopin’s cross-dressing lover, would have most likely worn men’s colognes! This is a beautiful fragrance. It wears like an Oriental because of the strong oud and musk. Very woodsy toward the end and like a dark smoky chypre. The rose is deep, dark, romantic, mysterious. The sandalwood in the heart gives it the right aromatic touch. The patchouli as well. If you like Oud, patchouli and musk this fragrance is sure to delight you. I think it smells like a cologne that both Chopin and George Sand wore together even at the same time at the same parties, to scandalize society. Outside of this literary connection it’s a really good rose and oud fragrance as well as patchouli. Aromatic, mysterious, elegant, unisex, beautiful.

Mi ricorda molto Amir Laura Tonatto e Amber Oud by Kilian.
Antico, raffinato, elegante, dannunziano, colto.
Chi ama i superincensi lo apprezzerà.
Grazie mille a Monsieur de Barry per il sample donatomi via post, su semplice richiesta. Merci.
