WIDIAN, Abu Dhabi-based niche perfume house is proud to announce the release of its newest collection, Sapphire. LONDON, the first scent from the Sapphire collection, will be releasing worldwide in January of 2018. The new Sapphire Collection is a testament to cities and will be dedicate to different cities worldwide. London perfume is inspired by the lights and proud culture of cosmopolitan city of London but stretching far beyond borders in its appeal.
The fragrance, LONDON, will join a list of high-end perfumes developed by WIDIAN’s founder Ali Al Jaberi, who has collaborated with perfumers from all around the world to curate a line of exclusive fragrances that cater to the most discerning clientele. With LONDON, the fragrance tells an intercontinental story that bridges between London and the UAE, offering the perfect scent for the modern person, worldly yet true to their roots.
London has always been a city of high culture, a city synonymous with luxury. Once upon a time the epicenter of history’s greatest empire, it is the city of great abbeys and royal palaces, the city of Saville Row, Harrods, and the Ritz. As part of the Sapphire collection, LONDON’s bottle and packaging have been inspired by the grandiose Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The package and bottle’s intricate details mirror the meticulous attributes of the Grand Mosque’s arches and domes; adding to the exclusivity and exquisiteness of the fragrance

Top note: Oud Wood, Cypress and Violet

LONDON takes you on a journey, from east to west. The opening notes are those of the deep, dark Oud Wood and Cypress which are complemented by the sweet floral aroma of Violets. The middle notes; Lily of the Valley and Raspberry, give LONDON an earthy, fruity dimension. The base notes of Leather and Dry Amber give the scent a level of added sophistication and complexity, while hints of Vanilla and Musk tie the fragrance together in a true demonstration of a classic destination, with a contemporary twist. London is a creation with a sillage that CONTINUES TO DEVELOP IN THE AIR. I kid you not, it is a first of a kind to my nose. It opens similar to TL but toned down ashy smoke and amped up and very juicy raspberry. The violet in the open fits like a tailored glove and lacks any petrol vibe occasionally experienced when used in heavy doses. In my experience the oud does not show itself until the heart and drydown of the scent. Like in Royal Oud and Nawab of Oudh, here is used more like a mortar that joins all the individual bricks (notes) to form a uniform wall. The drydown? WOW…. It is everything I’ve ever wanted in a night out masculine, grown and sexy, suave but not overly attentive, alluring and hypnotic composition. The only thing that is better then the drydown is the sillage trail so be sure to revisit any area you have camped out at for a while to experience exactly what I mean by the sillage developing in the air. I think this one is more masculine than feminine. I have a sample of this and Black 1 that I think both smell great on my boyfriend. Highly recommend for a man.

You gotta lift up the rope to get in the ring and London did just that. Widian has created an olfactory onslaught that is full of rich quality. On initial application, an alluring springtime air accord emerges while hugging a core of heavenly crafted strawberry drizzled onto a bed of violets. The primaveral air carries notes of oud, leather and musk laced with soft vanilla. Hints of cypress lends its profile to a powdery musk coated with sugar around the edges. The result is fluffy and sweet like cotton candy. This vibe is pushed toward the front and remains at the core of the scent through most of the wear time. On the perimeter of the cotton candy core you will get different whiffs of notes each time you smell it. A soft exotic lily-of-the-valley note blows through on one sniff, powdered air or musk may seduce you on another. Fruit and cotton candy accords will dance intimately on your skin but I strongly recommend this to be sprayed on clothing. This model is not for the runway.

Raspberry leather oud.
This is an oud coated vanilla raspberry chunks. It has vanilla violets, and vanilla lily of the valley. As well it’s like a sweet water that’s barely cloying. So in short, the layers are:
Raspberry Vaniila
Oud vaniila
Raspberry leather
Violets Raspberry vanilla
Lily of the Valley vanilla
amber vanilla
This is an overly sweet to be called London! I don’t see London having that kind of sweetness. Besides, it’s overly sweet that it’s barely cloying. Not Really.

London is pretty much this: the best fragrance I’ve had the opportunity to wear.
London is deeply, sweet blended perfection.
Raspberry and oud are the most prominent notes – but this is mixed fantastically – as if MFK threw this bad boy together.
This is going to sound crazy (and it probably is) – but picture an aquatic version of Tuscan leather.
That’s London.
I know there are no aquatics listed – but the overall mixture has a freshness about it – and how the hell can raspberry, oud and amber seem fresh?! I know. This is confusing. That’s why I’m saying – just imagine an aquatic Tuscan leather. Sounds interesting, right? It is! This is a multi-sniff delight. The only reason I’m comparing it to Tuscan leather is for a common point of reference – this is not a leather fragrance – but does mimic some of the best qualities of TL. This is classy, fun, warm and addictive.
SAVE UP YOUR MONEY AND BUY THIS. I promise you will not regret.
Shoot – now I have to come back and edit this. So I realized after I sniffed my hand a few hundred times – this is mancera black gold (one of my favorites!!) with added raspberry. That explains why I love it so much. And for further comparison – this definitely resembles a mancera style scent (oud on top + sweetness). This is top notch.

Very unusual usage of oud it top notes instead of base or mid notes as it usually used … and I love it! As a matter of fact, even I’m not crazy about oud, this combo with violet and cypres is so refreshing and engenius, it is my favorite stage, and only complaint I have about this gem is I wish opening was lasting longer.
It is now my 2nd favorite perfume in Widian line.

Beautiful suede leather with sweet and fruity undertones. It has that typical middle eastern sweet and fruity oud base.
The violet and cypress gives a touch of cool freshness in the opening.

It arrived, and I am speechless, this is a thing of beauty.
Unfolding on skin with shades of sweet fruity violet, somewhat metallic, but simultaneously silky, sitting over an ultra sophisticated leather accord, so beautifully put together,it would make your heart skip a beat.
The cypress listed in the notes is not prominent at all, but my guess is that perhaps it contributes to enforce the woody profile in the base as a polished oud begins to penetrate,
London keeps its sweet woody leathery profile from top to bottom, towards the end the vanilla and musk encapsulated the leather accord smoothing it out to suede territory with a subtle spicy fruity tobacco feel, transporting the wearer to olfactive paradise.
