I wish I sprayed it on my skin and not on my clothes before making a decision….on my skin this is not a lavender scent at all, it is more citrus than anything else. It actually reminds me of their Verveine (which smells like lemons with sugar to me). The Lavender eau de cologne is sweet, fresh, uplifting. I don’t find any typical soothing lavender characteristics here at all, actually quiet the opposite, but maybe because on my skin the citrus overpowers the lavender. And it smells nothing close to the lavender pure essential oil, if that’s what you are looking for. As others have mentioned, the scent barely lasts, you really have to use it almost as a body spray, or add a few spritzes directly on your clothes. It would be perfect on a hot humid day, when you just want to feel fresh and not “heavy” with perfume. Unisex for sure, very pleasant, cozy, natural. Oh yes, I will be enjoying it.

At first it seems to be quite powerful lavender scent, but after a while it’s truly nice, totally relaxing and wonderfully smooth. It also includes a drop of sweetness in base notes.
    Perfect for any season.

I’ve been using L’Occitane’s lavender products for years now, mostly because it’s the best smelling lavender I’ve ever smelled in a product. The liquid hand soap, Relaxing Roll-on, hand cream, hand lotion & foaming bath soap are all great products and saturated with their trademark lavender. This new Eau de Cologne, however, is a weak, watered-down, waste of money.
You’re better off just buying a bottle of their Relaxing Roll-On (or a bottle of their essential lavender oil) if you want something with some staying power. Personally, I’ll stick to their Cleansing Hand Wash, Hand Lotion, and Hand Cream. Those are the top 3 in my book.

It’s big, 300 ml, it has a screw top and a sprayer, it’s simple , linear , lovely. refreshing, and it lasts about 10 minutes. That’s it. I paid $58+tax for it. I use it as linen spray as I don’t find it fit for a perfume due to its terrible lasting power. But it is a beautiful lavander with hints of citrus , unisex, relaxing, and just perfect to spray all over the bedroom.

I’m a man and although this scent is soft, a man can wear this when he wants to feel refreshed and clean. I smelled this yesterday at a L’Occitane boutique while on vacation and it is a GORGEOUS scent. This is perfect for after shower use; it’s refreshing, uplifting, and at the same time very calming, therapeutic. And yes I bought it and now use it often!

This is just straight up soothing lavender. I love lavender. I am a very high strung, anxious personality type and I find lavender very therapeutic. Many people say that lavender is an ‘old lady’ scent- something which really irritates me, and should be banned from fragrantica because it is both offensive and means absolutely nothing (I’m 22 so this rant isn’t because I am offended or anything).
Lavender smells incredibly natural to me, and is never cloying. L’Occitane’s interpretation is the best because it gives you a subtle, calming lavender freshness, and the citrus brings out the best qualities of lavender. Lavender and citrus truly go hand in hand and I would not have it any other way. This is good to wear when you’re ill or feeling a bit stressed and don’t want to be irritated by any perfumes. Sillage and longevity not great, but you wouldn’t want it to be anyway because lavender is more therapeutic as opposed to a pretty or sexy fragrance you would want to wow someone with or share with those around you. This is excellent value for money as well, it costs $36NZD, and is made with organic lavender oils so it’s a product you can really trust. Lovely luxury brand.

I agree with jahallowell78’s review: the effect of smelling this, on me, is SMILE. Simple, bright and charming. Truly uplifting. I grow lavender in my garden and, yes, this is how the real plant smells. I’m sure this is going to be my next summer cologne.

Lavender has always been a pretty typical and mildly uninteresting scent to me, but this lavender is still one of the best lavenders I have ever inhaled. It may not be drop dead stunning simply because it’s lavender, but if you want the real stuff, this is a great, soothing scent. Not medicinal or funky, just lovely.
Longevity is 3 hours tops, but lasts better on fabric, about 12 hours. The silage is soft all the way through. This would be a nice fragrance to spray on your pillow to you help fall asleep. I always would wear this when I want something that inoffensive that pretty much everyone will like.

Clean! That’s the first thing that comes to mind every time I smell this scent. That’s one of the reasons I love it so much. This is what I wear at home after a long day at work. It’s my favorite pajama accessory. I think the citrus elements soften the lavender’s medicinal tendencies. It is very light and does fade on my dry skin fairly quickly, however, the light, wonderful, almost (but not quite!) soapy scent lingers on my pjs beautifully. It’s a comforting aroma for me and makes for a relaxing, peaceful nights sleep. I paid $55 for a 10 oz bottle and I think I got a heck of a deal. This is a staple scent for me.

I was given the roller of this and I keep it in my purse (must be well-designed – it has never leaked). Every time I apply it in the car my husband takes a deep breath and smiles and says “You put your lavender on, didn’t you”. I just use it as a tonic, a quick pick-me-up, because on my skin it is completly gone in two hours. No mystery here, just a very refreshing, calming, true lavender.

Nothing interesting, to my mind. Just another lavender “water”. Not very strong lavender, but rather sweet. Personally I prefer more complicated lavender smells such as Serge Lutens` Gris Clair, for instance.

I am so glad this is not just another lavender/vanilla combo like I have smelled 100 times before. For this cologne, it is a really nice unisex refreshing lavender scent. Simple, effective and linear. Something we could expect from L’Occitane. Lavender isn’t soapy at all but very clean and soothing. Citrus accord gives such a contradiction here because it’s so bright and vibrant. The soft musk is very relaxing too. I find it rather masculine, but it has some subtle sweetness to it so that it would appeal to ladies. It doesn’t last long but what you get is 300mL goodness at an affordable price. So spray on!
