I love lavender, we’ve got five or six shrubs just by the patio, but this is not it. No matter what ingredients are listed here, there is no molecule of lavender oil that my nose can distinguish. There’s citrus, there’s something flowery, and the combination smells really, really “old” and outdated. It’s neither fresh nor lavender nor “clean laundry”. I’ve got a small vial of lavandin essential oil, and the l’erbolario scent smells nothing like it, not at all.
I couldn’t even bring myself to use it as a scent for the wardrobe or for the linen cupboard, because I don’t want my linen to smell like this.
A colleague of mine often wears Iris, that’s how I found out about l’erbolario. Iris is a very, very nice fragrance, and the concept of singular scents is quite convincing. But unfortunately, it doesn’t work for lavanda somehow.
Pity. I really wanted to like it.

This is perfume and aromatherapy in one! Love it! I get a hint of other notes as well as the beautiful authentic lavender, like clove (which I also love). I use it as a linen spray as well as a perfume.
On my skin, it gets a little “masculine” for a while, but it’s a lovely smell and soon goes back to being just clean, fresh, herbal. Longevity is moderate on me. I think it will be a go-to for summer or when I want something subtle.
Many thanks to the generous Fragrantican who sold it to me a while back.
P.S. Turns out, this is hubby’s favorite on me (as of 2014). This means he actually said he liked it, as opposed to “I guess” or “It’s fine” LOL. He is very laconic.
EDIT 2015: I had put it aside for a while, thinking it was too spicy for me, but now that my tastes are changing I am loving it again. It’s a sweet spice with lovely lavender floating on top. Keeping my fingers crossed that it’s a good autumn fragrance.

It is really natural scent. In fact in the ingredient there is lavender essential oil. I really like it. It’s simple, aromatic, fresh, like to walk in a real lavender field. For a little price we can pretend to be in provence. :-p

Has anyone else tried this? Does it really smell natural?

Fantastic lavender in its pure form. Delicious.

Very clean, very simple. I get some citrus, wood and lavender. A comfort scent or like Carla said, for no nonsense days where a straightforward perfume is reached for. Sillage is good, about an arm’s length but longevity could be better, after four hours it becomes pretty much a skin scent. Still, for the price, it’s definitely worth it.

I’m impressed with this line for singular floral scents. On no-nonsense days if you want the feel of experiencing a run through the lavender fields on the Dalmatian coast of Croatia, specifically the island of Hvar, try this.
