I collect Lalique, including antique and contemporary parfum bottles.
I blind bought for the bottle, and it’s quite a nice bottle,
And the parfume is so-much more-than I’d have dared to imagine.
The topnotes are light floral, but not tremendously sweet, wet florals I usually avoid anything honeysuckle, as it, to me, tends to eclipse the rest of the notes.
Not so with this: the honeysuckle is like a light breeze. Same with the rose: it’s definitely present, but not heavy or overbearing
The middle notes are nondescript to me. Perhaps a touch of spice, but smells mostly the same to my untrained nose.
But, the base notes are spectacular! Warm honeysuckle-y incense and mellowed toasted spices are what I smell.
On me, the parfum lasts many hours. Sillage is mild; it stays close. I like that sometime.
I love applying before I go to sleep. It’s a comforting scent that reminds me of summer in New England

Another blind buy winner that I got from an estate sale earlier this year. When I first tried this it was the middle of winter and I didn’t like it. Now here in the midst of summer I’ve decided to give this another chance and I really like it. It comes out sharp but mellows into a rich blend of powdery jasmine, rose and iris with tart fruit and musk in the background. There’s also a sweetness to this, but it’s not sweet like the cotton candy scents. It is a well composed, decadent bouquet of flowers perfect for the summer heat.
