L’Agent Agent Provocateur for women of Agent Provocateur

Share:

Description

L’Agent is seductive and sensual as all the previous editions are, but noticeably darker, more powerful and more mysterious. L’Agent is a provocative fragrance for women of strong character, a smell that hypnotizes your senses with its magical notes of Orient flowers, warm amber and sensual and erotic musk.

Top opening bursts with pink pepper, davana oil, rosewood, ylang-ylang and angelica. Amazingly powerful and tempting heart blends floral notes of Bourbon geranium, May rose, Sambac jasmine, tuberose and osmanthus. The base includes the darkest and most enigmatic ingredients of patchouli, sandalwood, amber crystals, tonka bean, labdanum, myrrh, black incense and musk.

In addition to the pyramidal structure, the perfume composition also contains a new secret ingredient of pheromones, guaranteeing heart-winning excitement.

The bottle follows the original design of Agent Provocateur perfumes in soft pink color that gradually turns into a dark gray tint at the bottom. Agent Provocateur L’Agent is available from late January of 2011 as Eau de Parfum in 50ml and 100 ml bottles.

The nose behind this fragrance is Christian Provenzano.

For a weekend nightout, i sometimes put on my manliest attire ; leather jacket, black jeans, rugged boots, etc, then i lavishly spray L’Agent all over. Awesome.

This is such a pure beauty. I love L’agent on my skin i sommer, somehow dont wear it in winter. It blends beautifully in warm weather and summer breeze, gives somehow an arabic wibe to it, like magic perfume from East. Usually not into smoky fragrances, but this works wonders iny skin. Feel confident, and strong wearing this. Thunbs up for early masterpeices Agent provocateur!!

Ok so I was watching ouch110 fragrance reviews where he raves about this. I usually like what he likes. I looked all over for this, finally found it in the discontinued area of TJMAXX.
I have to try it. Ummmmm. Just smelled like very intense deep woods off big spray. It’s just not my jam. Maybe it smells better on others.

balsamic and herbal with lots of sweet ylang, pepper, rosewood, geranium, myrrh, tuberose, labdanum, sandalwood and musk; no incense to my nose until the base then it gets really smokey but on the way there it’s a bit all over the place with a lot of dissonant notes colliding but still complex and admirable; torn on this one

Dry, woody, floral incense. Starts very promising – smoky blooming, as if living, but dries down to a faint woody whisper. Not bad for a discount price of 20 pounds though.

A very well crafted fragrance, that unfortunately I received in the mail together with my Coco Noir. The comparison made L’agent smell unrefined, bit raw. I know I’m comparing apples and oranges here, but for me it lacked sophistication.
Apart from that, it also was masculine for me (disclaimer: I usually like feminine perfumes, occasionally unisex are fine). This, however, was very close to a cologne a gentleman I knew used to wear in the ‘00s. Smelling the sprayer it reminded me of Memoir Woman, but not when sprayed on my skin.

L’Agent is a fragrance I owned a number of years ago, sold, and once I realized it was discontinued, rapidly repurchased. This is the kind of fragrance for a strong woman. It’s not contemporary nor fashionable at the moment, but there’s something incredibly alluring about it. Things L’Agent isn’t: sugary, dainty, light. Things L’Agent most definitely is: sexy, dark, and room-filling.

Another Cinnabar wannabe. Rich but soft. Musky cinnamon with incense. The spice never over powers. It’s lovely and has wonderful longevity. Needs to be worn close to the skin so your warmth can make it glow. I have a bottle that’s almost still full, I just don’t wear it often, I’m still burnt out on the original cinnabar, it was THAT powerful. L’Agent never turns bitter and cheap, stays warm and sexy for its full wearing. I keep putting it into my trade pile, but I never seem to get around to it, and so it’s still in my collection, a couple of years on.

There is a facet of patchouli that occasionally rears up and dominates a perfume for me. It’s a sharp, spicy effect that comes across like too strong cinnamon. It isn’t quite the smell of cinnamon, but the wafts feel similar. It happens to me with Angel (which smells like an apple cinnamon tart on me), and it happens here with L’Agent. This was one of my true perfume disappointments because I was sure that I would at least like it; if not absolutely love it. So many eye-catching notes and reviews; alas, this love was not to be. It’s strong and rich and a well-crafted scent. It just has that spicy patchouli that doesn’t work for me.

Have you ever heard the actress Barbara Windsor* giggle, or chuckle? This scent is that sound, translated into smell. A dirty, funny, girlie, sexy, unpretentious, naughty, confiding gurgle of sheer fun.
(*for non-British readers: Barbara Windsor is now a Dame and a respected national treasure but she really made her name as a tiny (5ft), very busty, Cockney-accented ‘blonde bombshell’ starlet in the 1960s, mostly in the cheerfully vulgar Carry On ‘sex comedies’. Her amazingly high-pitched but throaty laugh is a thing unto itself – I looked for a good youtube example but couldn’t find one, and don’t know if it’s allowed to post links here anyway. but do Google her if none of this comparison makes sense to you.)
So: I have some doubts I’m even smelling the same thing as everyone else here, because for me this is mostly powdery leather, with a tiny tang of incense. It’s hardly ‘deeply smoky’ or ‘darkly sexy’, but rather, a cheap and cheerful flirt with such chutzpah that it’s charming, not obnoxious. It doesn’t smell upmarket, but it’s still many times better than its (tiny) price would suggest. Has a few hidden corners of interest, lasts well, projects confidently without smothering you. (unlike Babs’s bosom, as they’d say in the Carry On films.) Overall, it’s just a blast. As long as you are not expecting muted elegance or the discreet smell of the old rich (!) you are very likely to be pleased with this, and have a ball with it.

This was a BB based on a review saying a man could easily wear this. That’s is the absolute truth. This in my opinion is very unisex in nature, yes even the floral middle and I think that is due to the heavy base which begins ever so slightly in the opening and then increases gradually to the drydown. This is probably an evening scent but I’m wearing during the day and it is fine. So don’t be afraid of a marketing label……as some are very unisex.

I do wish people wouldn’t assume that just because others think that one perfume (in this case L’Agent) reminds them of another (Amouage Memoir, for example) they mean that the perfumes are “dupes”.
It’s very rare that two perfumes smell virtually identical – and that usually only happens when a company has gone out of its way to produce an inexpensive alternative to an aspirational product; as examples, I can cite Armaf/Creed and Armaf (again) with Tom Ford.
I haven’t smelled Amouage Memoir, but I am happy to accept that L’Agent is reminiscent of it to some people. I don’t think anyone is claiming them to be dupes!
I always view the “reminds me of” as guidance; so – if I enjoy one, the chances are that I’ll like the other. Equally, if I have one it’s quite possible that I won’t want to own another which is very similar.

Just because a fragrance has a prominent incense or patchouli note and isn’t cascading forth with waterfalls of sugar doesn’t mean it’s automatically masculine, so I disagree with other users calling this “sweaty” or “manly.” The powdery, white floral elements come through so strongly on my skin- really, to me this is 90% tuberose and jasmine- it speaks of nothing but a predatory and explicit kind of femininity. I’d actually call this the most feminine fragrance I own right now. It’s by no means a dupe for Memoir Woman but is a solid, cheapie substitute in a pinch.

Great scent! I have both the regular and the L’Agent Provocateurs – love them both. Amazing perfumes, but I like L’Agent just a little bit more. Actually I like to use both at the same time. Yes, it’s strong, yes it has a sweaty man vibe. Yes it smells similar to Amouage Memoir, but just similar, not exactly alike. But that doesn’t matter. L’Agent is simply a beautiful scent that is rich and well rounded. I just love it. Well done Christian Provenzano!

This bottle encapsulates a sexy and strong woman who knows what she wants and how she wants it in all aspects of her life. This is a more sexy version of the original perfume as the incense is more present in this bottle. It is not sweet in a way of girly perfumes, but it has a sweetness to it. It is a very masterious perfume, and it may be more appropriate for night time wear.

I’m a huge fan of Memoir so instead of forking out the big bucks, I’m going to buy this, 19 reviewers agree it’s similar to Memoir. I’ll be back with my findings.
EDIT: seeing that finding a sample of this was not possible, I bought a bottle online and waited for it not holding out too much hope as the reviews go from love to hate and back again. I was also not expecting a ‘dupe’ of Memoir, but a smoky frag and that’s exactly what it is
Now of course, I get the smoky notes in the way of myrrh which I love but the other main player is new to my nose and upon going thru the note breakdown, I have to assume it’s the ylang ylang or more likely, the davana oil ( which can be a little camphorous) that I’m smelling, as I’m unfamiliar with both of these notes.
Whatever it is has a lemony freshness to it which I didn’t expect as there isn’t any citrus but smoke and citrus seem to go well together. For the price it was, I’m very happy to have it in my collection as it’s unlike my many other perfumes and it’s also nice to move away from the vanilla dominant frags too.
It’s certainly not like Memoir but more like Valentina Myrrh assolut. Lasts really well on my skin and longer on clothes

This is a bomb of a perfume! Strong and full of character. I understand that it’s a lot to handle for some. But I love it! It’s sensuous and in a way really outlandish in the day of sickly sweet gourmands and fruitchoulis. L’agent has this old time-y vibe to it, which I adore. I could see someone like Lauren Bacall wearing it. Sexy and seducing, but in a mysterious and refined way. For a woman in command.
On me it’s incense, labdanum, resins, sandalwood, angelica and myrrh. The first whiff is strong, but it mellows out in a 20 minutes or so. It lasts quite long, and turns into a soft and sweet skin scent in the end. I don’t use it too often, since it takes a certain mood of mystery. And I never put on more than two sprays! I don’t want to choke people around me.

This is one of the most goth fragrances I’ve ever tried. Dark, smokey, resinous… it’s not my style but very well done and a bargain. If you like dark scents you need to try this. I also think it’s much better than Memoir.

  21. :

    4 out of 5

Incensy, smokey, warm, don’t be afraid of this.
I was hesitant to try it as I smelled the lid..
Try first though, I don’t think for young girls or the perfume uninitiated. Might be too heavy.
    It might go unappreciated.
This is sort of remenisent of the big 90’s hitters, but this isn’t heavy and thick like those. Lighter modern version.
No, I’m thinking: lighter version if the woody side in miss Dior Le parfum, fancy nights by jess Simpson – not sweet like f nights though, more warm smokey creamy than coach rose dor, men’s zadig and Voltaire.
Um, maybe men’s dolce and gabbana, l’agent isn’t manly however. It has that smoke.
I might detect aldehydes somewhat like the chanels but in the dry down. No sharp florals like chanels.
I think this will be a bit more amplified during the day
Ok, it’s been about an hour since I sprayed lightly on my wrist, this has gone a bit warmer and a smidge sweeter in the background.
    Love

Received this today. On 1st spray it is a very spicy incensy scent, reminiscent of obsession Calvin Klein and opium ysl. Though the quality is not on par. I’m wearing this on a cool summer night and I can see this being a good winter scent. I like it but I will recommend testing it before buying.
Edit:I really like the scent but for some reason it makes me sneeze and my eyes water when I wear it.

L’Agent smells like male body odor and I love it!
You will either hate this fragrance or you will love it, thankfully I belong in the latter group. This is very smoke and incense heavy, but it’s not the sweet aromatic incense you’re used to, this is a dry and smoldering smoke. L’Agent is nothing like the original Provocateurs, it’s bordering on harsh and masculine. Frankly it reminds me of Natori Natori (sans plum) and a weaker Opium mixed together.
You’ll be interested in knowing that this is not a sweet perfume; although there are mild floral accents, the primary players are incense, myrrh, sandalwood, and patchouli. Roses and tuberose are apparent but only through a veil of dark smoke and leather—amber adds a warm glow to what would have been a cold and haunting fragrance.
L’Agent smells like a bonfire on the beach; I wouldn’t categorize this as a girly scent, it smells gothic and bewitching. I love the way it transforms subtly on my skin, going from rich and smoky to dark and boozy. The dry down is strangely intoxicating, like flowers on a lake of petrol; it’s a little skanky reminiscent of male body odor.
I don’t know what Agent Provocateur puts into their perfumes but every one of their creations has been a love for me. L’Agent is undoubtedly my favorite of its flankers, I can’t get over how uniquely sadistic it smells, almost like a film noir. This won’t be considered a sex bomb by most people, but if flowers were evil little things with a penchant for torture and fatalism…it would moonlight as L’Agent.

I just received my bottle today while at work. I couldn’t wait to tear open the box and inhale this scent. Well, this fragrance STINKS. It is for those with an acquired taste for sure. It does have a slightly funky smell. i wanted to like this, the bottle is very nice, but the smell is old lady meets funky to me. I am returning this bottle. I am disappointed.

I don’t like to leave negative reviews, but on occasion exceptions must be made. So with all due respect to everyone and every opinion…
I do believe this may be the stinkin-est stuff I ever laid my nose on. Most scents, even ones I don’t like, I can find one note, one aspect of it that’s positive. Unfortunately not here, not today.
This smelled like bottom-shelf store-brand black licorice, those little green trees cab drivers in movies hang from the rearview mirror, and masculine body odor. Some people will say that the BO note is “animalic” and is supposed to smell like that, but I would have to disagree in this case. This wasn’t a natural muskiness, it was pure synthetic unwashed funk…
It was like a sweaty, hairy wannabe muscle-head leaning against a moldy brick wall outside a run-down gym, eating an off-brand black Twizzler, wearing a skin-tight stained-up wife beater, showing his musty pit hair that he thinks is some kind of sexy.
Sorry to anybody who likes this, but for me I couldn’t scrub it off fast enough. Just, ew.

I recived it yesterday…. It’s too animalic on my skin…and it just stays that way until the very end.. I really dislike it on me… it’s a shame… I really wanted to like it so much…

    Wearing This For Halloween
Where has this perfume been all my life!??
This is a dark smoky incense and myrrh but despite all that’s been said about this fragrance, and the number of notes, it’s a wearable incense and not at all as heavy or even as hardcore Oriental as Opium by Yves Saint Laurent for instance. This is a soft almost powdery incense-and-florals, resins and amber.
    I really like the bottle.
    Looks like hand grenade.
The incense is apparent from the start. It opens with dry and aromatic notes of Artemisia, patchouli, sandalwood and myrrh.
This is a decidedly unisex fragrance and it’s pretty easy to pull off if you’re a boy or girl.
It matches up with black clothes, Halloween costumes of witches, vampires and or for Goth wardrobe.
It’s also pretty easy to wear even if you’re under 18 and a Goth.
I don’t associate this fragrance with any of their lingerie.
This is a mysterious and complex fragrance that is designed to be worn by a mature perfumista who appreciates incense smells.
The patchouli floral heart is redolent with geranium and jasmine, the only floral notes that I could detect because this is far from being a pretty feminine sweet floral scent.
It’s got florals but they are not key players. The incense, amber and the drier patchouli, and the sandalwood, are the major components.
Like others have mentioned, it throws out an incense smoke that pleases any lover of incense fragrances.
This makes a fine aroma for the home if you’re partial to incenses for your home. I spray it in the air to set the mood.
I wish this came with a diffuser. As a personal perfume, it’s an evening cologne to be worn with black clothes and for artists, bohemian types, and for those in the Goth subculture.
And as I’ve already said, it’s a perfect Halloween fragrance. It might be a bit too mature for a Halloween fragrance as a matter of fact but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear it for yourself on October 31st, Halloween, or for the pagan harvest festival of Samhain or the Mexican Dia de Los Muertos – Day of the Dead.
In fact this fragrance is one a girlfriend of mine wears with her skeletal face make up when she dresses up for Dia de Los Muertos. She got me into this fragrance. Thank you Isabel.
Exotic, smoky, balsamic myrrh, incense, amber. A perfume of the dark, mysterious, nocturnal, and magnificent.
This is probably one of the finest incense based fragrances by the L’Agent Provocateur.

This is my favorite fall fragrance. But where did it go???? AP no longer lists their perfumes on their US website (not sure about other countries…) and the original AP is dirt cheap, now even offered in a double size six ounce bottle for around 40 bucks?
The L’Agent seems to be getting harder to find and when I do find it, it is twice or three times the cost I paid a few years ago. I managed to find a few new bottles at a reasonable cost and bought three.
This is what I expect from a scent with heavy patchouli. It is a smokey chocolate on my skin. I was hoping to find this same sort of scent with VS Basic Instinct, but all I got was a musky airport bathroom smell.
I am hoping that my three large bottles last long enough for me to get sick of wearing it. If not, I probably will not be able to find it or afford it when I run out. I have read that the L’Agent Eau Provocateur (the lighter version) has been discontinued, but not sure about this one.

L’Agent is film noir in a bottle. Incense and resins and musk, oh my, with a just-sweet-enough ambery floral undercurrent. The result is perfectly dark and hazy, and, yes, very sexy and femme fatale-esque. On fabric, it does give off a bit of a wood shavings vibe, and I love that about it. L’Agent reminds me of a duskier Rochas Femme, to the point that I would almost swear there should be leather listed in the notes, though there isn’t. Must be the labdanum. Sillage wise, it’s a bit of a bomb, and longevity is stellar. I adore the packaging as a bonus. An awesome buy; if you’ve been on the fence, do snap this one up before it gets more expensive and difficult to find.

i am wearing this a year or so since my first review. only one spray is enough.
have worn it a few times, but i felt self conscious, which is unusual for me, as i happily wear all sorts of unusual and woody/musky/both fragrances.
ok, i still smell chocolate leather, but only in the first blast. there’s a touch of incense.
what i find disappointing is a strong, yet watery, musky sharp wood in the background, which becomes the dry down, arriving after a fleeting dance from the other notes and florals.
this smell totally overpowers the rest of the composition and that is all my nose can smell. shame. i think i have finally given up on L’Agent.
it is not unpleasant, worth a try to see if it works for you, but my nose is very sensitive to these particular musky woods and they are not for me.

The opening is almost sour on my skin, not pleasant at all actually. It was a blind buy, and the opening could really have ruined everything, but once I got pass it – OMG! Warm, comfy, balsamic and absolutely gorgeous. Nothing sexy and dangerous about it, but sensual yes. Compared to the first AP scents, this is the kitten to their cougars.

This doesn’t smell dark or femme fatale to me.. it smells classy and old fashioned. A lot more powdery than I expected. Soapy floral with hints of orange, resins, and slight herbal nuances. Extremely fleeting, weak and fading fast on my skin. After the citrus dies off the resins come through more clearly but don’t have nearly enough bite for my liking, synthetic musk dominates and it’s just meh. I get a rancid soap smell sometimes that is quite unpleasant. So disappointed in this one. I can’t even smell it anymore but my mom said I smell “nice”, and she hates when I burn incense. So.. there you go. I wish I got a strong incense vibe like others.

First I have to say that incense is a typical scent in my country since I live in Thailand. After I take a look at those notes, somehow, I still have high hope for this one to smell amazing. It turns out to be joss sticks scent with its own character. A little disappointed for Asian. A very unique scent for European.
I got very strong incense, myrhh, patchouli, sandalwood, musk and flowery notes. On my skin It’s just pure incense, but I also got a sweet hint of flowers (jasmine, Ylang-Ylang and rose maybe?) on my clothes.
This is a night frag for sure. (I might wear this all day just for experiment.)
The commercial pic represent the right feeling about this perfume.
The dark mysterious aura maker for its owner.

I bought this, really looking forward to, but sadly all it gives me is this smokey aroma, not at all feminine or gourmand, something like you passing by an arabic shop with those water pipes they usually have. I can’t imagine wearing it but it is not bad but in sense like it is surrealisticly natural?

Imagine walking through an old, intricately decorated, abandoned library. Dried flowers are placed in high glass vases all around, lined up on the large, wooden desks. Grains of dust glimmer in rays of sunlight, seeping through the curtains.
    Time stands still.
Sometimes, scents manage to capture atmospheres better than any literature or artwork ever could. This is one of those scents, and the more I smell of it, the deeper and more complex it gets.

    Secret Agent Femme Fatale!
This is a double agent perfume. She smells of deceptively sweet floral scents of rose, angelica, jasmine, ylang ylang and geranium. But she’s not the kind of girl that likes flowers at all. She’s only under cover as a romantic. At heart, she’s really a villainess and she’s after James Bond, to kill him. The incense dominates this scent, but it’s also musk, patchouli, amber and spices/resins. It’s an Oriental but on me it was more about the mood it gave me. It’s nocturnal, a perfume of the night. It’s mysterious, “evil” and dark. I’ve read the reviews and each has their own truth and merit. I do see this as a Halloween night fragrance, something to wear with a Morticia Addams type of dress, or a witch or vampire. It’s elegant and “Goth”. If you’re a Goth then you might also be a drama student in high school. All the Goths at my high school were in Drama and they always wore dark clothes, black make up and enjoyed wearing clothing that looked Baroque and Renaissance. If you’re an actor or actress that loves to wear exotic, mysterious perfumes, this one is for you. I think it’s very sexy and bewitching, but only one spritz on my collarbone is enough. It turns a bit powdery and reminds me of a more full bodied version of John Galliano. Both scents have angelica, florals and incense. The incense here is much bigger though. I would say that you can’t buy this blindly. Sample it first or wear something similar like John Galliano, or other incense/patchouli florals like Opium. I prefer this to Opium though. This has a unisex aura and can be worn by both guys and gals. Why this was created for Agent Provocateur a lingerie line is beyond me. I associate lingerie scents with softer florals or sweet fruity gourmands but this incense is one you can’t wear to bed. This incense is for a night out at the club, dancing and letting the aroma attract someone to you, an art gallery perfume to wear while looking at art and serving as a magnet to someone who is admiring YOU like a work of art, and so forth. I would say its good for a date too. Sexy as hell.

I love this scent, it’s dark, sexy and intoxicating. It reminds me of how perfumes used to made, before they all became watered down shadows of their former selves. very long lasting, wonderful projection. Be careful with this one, as it’s very easy to overspray. I personally like to drift about in a cloud of this beautiful stuff but if you are easily overpowered by stronger scents little dabs on the pulse points might be all you can handle.

  42. :

    4 out of 5

I’ve seen the positive reviews for this and hoped I would like it but sadly I really didn’t.
Opening notes to my nose are horrible – smells like a bouquet of rotting flowers. As that fades to reveal the base it forms into a more palatable powdery incense but I still don’t like it.
I agree with comments that it smells masculine but not in a designer aftershave-way, it’s more like something a niche house would offer.

  43. :

    4 out of 5

L’Agent opens with a sultry pairing of incense and patchouli, followed by several lovely floral notes which soften it right up. It’s smoky & mysterious, but also light & feminine. It actually reminds me of a slightly less heady, creamier version of YSL’s ‘Opium’. I would definitely suggest L’Agent as a cheaper alternative for Opium fans, and a must-have for anyone who loves the rich aroma of incense.

Seriously not for everybody… I would call it the fragrance of a sexy, cheeky, luscious and strong woman who knows well what she wants and how 😉 Piquant and definitely provocative! Each time I smell this perfume it flies me into a boudoir… Update! I definitely miss amber in it! Together they play a wonderful symphony on my skin… I will always use them together!

honestly, i tried this because of the amouage memoir comparisons. right off the bat i get cherry cough syrup, surprise! then that changes to a smoky and musky incense. i think i get labdanum, myrrh and incense primarily. maybe some rose and pink pepper too, adding a bit of a femme quality, but this is mostly just really musky myrrhy incense. i like this, i need to try it again at a later date though. i absolutely love memoir and this isn’t memoir, but i’m glad that i tried it because of that.

I am very surprised it is considered to be unisex. It’s strong masculine scent, nothing feminine about it. My husband likes it, unfortunately not when I wear it:) It is definitely not a safe blind buy. Try it before buying. It was a huge disappontment for me! All I could smell on my skin is incense and after a couple of hours it turned into something very similar to Baldessarini Hugo Boss for men and I had to go and wash it off. Not that I dislike Baldessarini, but I’d leave it to men:)

Okay, I’m new to this whole fragrance thing, so I blind bought a bottle thinking it would be a nice way to familiarise myself with the incense note. I hated it, it smelled weird and loud and I washed it off right away. Thought about either tossing it or giving it to someone, but didn’t, because I had read once on a Finnish fragrance forum you should not get rid of purchases that initially seem like failures, so I put it in the cupboard where I keep my very humble collection, and placed it behind all the other bottles and packages.
Until I decided to give it another go after 5 months, and try to understand and maybe identify some of the notes in the composition. Now that was a good call, since this is the fourth or so night I have spent with my nose glued to my wrist. The trick was letting it settle in peace, and after giving it about a half an hour on my skin it became this delicious, almost sweet smoky treat. Can’t really tell apart the notes, I’m too much of a n00b for that, but it smells amazingly good. I think, as a man, I’d easily be able to use it if the situation is right, and it’s not the sillage power house on me some have experienced it to be.
During this evening I’ve put on more a couple of times already just to feel the opening over and over again, and I think I need to do that once more. I think I’m hooked.
EDIT: Here I am, almost a year later still surrounded by a cloud of L’agent, this time layered with a sweet amber. I seriously need to get a back up bottle or three, this is so good, and will always be the perfume that taught me an important lesson about not trusting my initial reaction to a scent. <3

Some say this perfume reminds them of Amouage Memoir for women. I slightly see the comparison, but where they differ is in the smoky incense. Memoir opens with incense and it lasts throughout the wear of the fragrance, along with other amazing notes. Memoir is one of my all time favorite fragrances, therefore when I saw people comparing the two I thought I would give L’agent a try, especially since my Amouage runs around $400 a bottle. There is some incense at the beginning of L’agent but it quickly dissipates and you are left with an amber floral scent. It reminds me of Estee Lauder’s Youth Dew Amber. So if Youth Dew Amber and Amouage Memoir for women had a baby, L’agent would be the conception. But it is just that…a baby in comparison, if you want to smell like a sexy grown-up lady, I suggest giving Memoir a try.

I can’t understand all that ‘sexiness’ factor of L’Agent in the reviews at all… I’m sorry, for my nose it’s not just unisex, it’s pure man’s frag… maybe that’s why a lot of girls think of it in ‘seduce’ category – projecting L’Agent on men’s skin?, but no no no. Not for me, definately. It’s strong smoke’y woody balsamic 100% man in bottle… Interesting with pretty decent taste but still – a man :)… besides one pretty note taken from original AP – that crazy beautiful smokey rose in the background 🙂
I can’t even imagine man smelling his girlfriend in that strong masculine scent in intime situation. Sorry! Woody balsamic scents en general (vide Erotique Dita von Teese, Nu YSL) are just not for my nose (unless it’s man’s skin)!

This is liquid sexiness, omg. It starts with a strong myrrh on me, and turns into a “pure and nasty at the same time” scent. This is fkin addictive…

I was a bit disappointed by L’agent. When used in small concentrations, the smoky notes completely disappear, leaving only a nondescript floral. When used more generously, though, the incense and pepper come out and lend a nice darkness and depth to the whole composition, but there’s still something just…lacking. They disappear too soon, leaving a sort of grey powder over that same rosy floral. I like it and would probably wear it if I got it as a gift, but even for the price, I wouldn’t consider buying it for myself. It doesn’t live up to it’s dark-and-mysterious billing and doesn’t have enough meat to hold its own.

I concur with the first hit being incense, myrhh, patch, rosewood and ylang ylang. This is definitely no shy flower but a fragrance of the night with seduction in mind. Its the sort of fragrance that Mata hari or a Sultana of the ancient Ottomon empire should have worn. There is an element of i
