This one seems to have a terrible reputation…however, I find it quite lovely…I get a lot of peach (the lady), rose and woody/hay notes (the lion)…this is a very complex fruity fragrance that has a very old-fashioned feel to it…

    Really really dislike this one
    🙁
It’s an odd scent of rotting rose leaves
    Yuck

I had been a little reluctant to try this as I am not always in to chypres and can find them too sharp. However, I received a sample of this with an order of two other 9ml scents. I agree with nexangelus that this is primarily grassy, herbal and green. It has a lovely fragrant grasses and green fields feel to it, and I get the basil and herbs really clearly. I love her image of a medieval joust which works brilliantly. It is lovely in a way that reminded me of my surprise enjoyment of Vie de Chateau by Parfums de Nicolaï.
The peach is not immediately apparent, and emerges a bit later, more with an effect of rounding out the scent than of creating a strong fruit note. I would also have guessed at some additional white florals here.
This is a surprise love for me. I’m still on my first wear and will edit to report back on the dry down, but I’m feeling great about this so far. And what a cool name!

There aren’t many perfumes that make me want to gag but this is one of them.

This is a soapy red roses with peach and hay, oakmoss and mint besides more soaps notes. Quite interesting as the kind of soap there isn’t the bubbly ones but the natural mostly unscented ones.
It’s not a splashy roses peach fragrance rather than a soapy CLAY peach essense. Another good creation from 4160 Tuesdays.

Ive never really been a fan of chypres but this extraordinary fragrance changed my mind. Let the alcohol dissipate and its all lovely warm rose but mostly mossy spicey greeness. I can just about identify the oak moss, peach, rose and blackcurrant leaf which acts as an accent but its very smooth and well blended. The resins and cedar make a lasting base.
It really comes alive on a warm cloudy day. It can fill a small room with its spicey mossiness. Very lovely.

Plasticine, peach and hay. I think my skin just picks up the hay in this and Paris 1948. Sorry, Sarah! It’s nicely combined but my skin won’t play ball

This to me is a fresh, green grassy hay perfume. It is mid summer, hot sun, drying grass or hay. The peach is soft and fuzzy and adds a little sweetness to the dryness. The oakmoss and resins ground it, give it that full green and earthy vibe. I get medieval jousts, lots of country air, horses and red velvet insignias and tapestries flapping in the wind.

4160 Tuesdays really loves that peach note, and Lady Rose Lion opens with peach peach, and even more peach. Obviously, my body chemistry really accentuates that note, which is NOT a good thing. The blackcurrent leaf seems to add a powdery cosmetics vibe–the whole thing is very plastic and chemical-ly. Blech. This is most definitely my absolute least favorite of 4160 Tuesday’s scents that I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a lot. I’m a fan of their line-up in general, but Lady Rose Lion is absolutely horrid. It is not green, not fresh, and not earthy. It is just chemical, cloying, and yucky.

Oh! I am quite surprised to find 3 negative reviews for this one, I rather like it. I have had my bottle a good while, since well before this scent was listed on here, and seeing the new bottle design plus the negative response it has garnered is making me wonder if a detrimental reformulation has happened?
Well, I have to say this one is lovely on me. I am not normally a fan of anything blackcurrant like, but the blackcurrant leaf and peach combo here along with the rose makes a real “winter berries” scent fruit note that is lovely, really rounded dark and juicy feel. The oakmoss, green notes and resins start to come out during the mid section of this scent, and into the drydown adding a typically chypre character to the rich fruity start. There also feels to be a slightly musky note here, there is a faintly animalic nuance during the heart and drydown that seems to get a very good response – every time I have worn this perfume I have had compliments, mainly from men. I don’t know which note it is they like so much, but who cares this one (for me) is a compliment getter!
This has good longevity for me and pretty big sillage too – I would say 2-3 sprays and you will project about 4 -6 feet and last all day. I like this one best in winter or spring, it feels like it would fall apart a little in hot weather. Not a safe blind buy!

Agree with the below reviewers. Total scrubber. Screechy, synetic, harsh and headache inducing. The peach does NOT play nicely with the other herbs, makes it sickening. Not a safe blind buy.

I have to agree with you, Coco76. The ingredients sound so exciting but the scent just dies on paper but worse, goes screechy chemicals on skin. Most things I have tried from 4160 Tuesdays have had the same harsh synthetic edge on me that spoils the imaginative creations.

edit: I actually had to physically throw the sample in the garbage it was so headache inducing…normally I save samples I don’t like and send them to my sister (we have very different tastes) but I couldn’t stand to have it in the house!
ugh…pure ‘scrubber’ for me. my chemistry and oakmoss do NOT play nicely together 🙁
NO peach, NO blackcurrant leaf, NO rose…very sharp and peppery.
