Description

Anna Sui is launching the new fragrance La Nuit de Bohème which succeeds the fragrance for women from 2012, La Vie de Boheme providing a luminous and sunny composition reflecting the romantic world of bohemians. Promotion of the latest edition, La Nuit de Boheme was held on June 10th 2014 at the official store of Anna Sui in Soho in New York.

The new fragrance differs from the previous edition which blended floral and juicy fruity notes of red berries, pitahaya and pear in top notes. The new version starts with sparkling citruses and thick blackberry zest, announcing the floral union in the heart of the composition created of lotus and gentle, feminine petals of rose with an oriental twist to woody notes of warm and opulent oud. In comparison to the previous edition, the base provides deeper and warmer notes created by mixing cedar, Haitian vanilla-orchid, Indonesian patchouli and golden amber resin!

The deeper, sensual and seductive new perfume La Nuit de Boheme arrives in the same flacon shape as its antecedent La Vie de Boheme, as two blooming roses with a stopper with a metal butterfly, but this time made completely in golden color. The outer carton is also characterized by golden color, flowers and butterflies in red shades. The fragrance can be obtained as 30, 50 and 75ml Eau de Toilette, and is expected on the market starting from autumn 2014.

It’s got a beautiful name and it was on sale, so I thought, “why not?”. It was a blind buy but I was pleasantly surprised with a fragrance unlike any other. It’s citrus is tart, I don’t get much rose, but it definitely has some floral. The oud and dense woods stand out….I’ve never had anything like this and for the price and quality, I am happy with it. More of a night fragrance.

My father bought this for me as a gift…you know i just love oriental fragrances….especially oriental floral and oriental vanilla…this one smells great…its very sweet….must have been the berries….and it possess this beautiful warmth from the amber possibly…sillage an longevity is moderate..i like this perfume..but what would turn my like to love is that if this has better longevity and sillage….6.5/10

This was a blind buy and I regret it. This scent on me smells like cheap drug store cologne with alcohol and baby powder with hint of floral. No rose or amber on me at all. Very disappointed with this one that is too strong, maybe it is the oud, with odd scent I dislike.

This perfume is stronger than most typical Anna Sui perfumes, but I like this one very much for its unique scent. I can’t quite describe the scent, maybe it’s the oud or amber, but it definitely helps in terms of longevity. I find this even more long lasting than my EDP perfumes, so I definitely recommend this.

Like the initial spray then tends to go one demential (sprayed 6.30am and smells pretty much the same all day, except get a soft rose hint 4pm, which has taken 9 hrs or so to get to this point) This to me smells like Safari by Ralph Loren which I never liked. The notes in this perfume are good on paper but the 1 dimension smell puts me off.

Beautiful creamy woody citrusy fragrance. This has a unique combination of notes and feels. Very good projection. Also, unnlike other Anna sui fragrances this one is much more mature, grown up and sophisticated. I recently have been decorating and rediscovered this gift set, I kept getting whifts whenever I was bending down in the corner where this perfumebox was. Very good projection, it is a warm and inviting scented fragrance thanks to the amber. The amber in this fragrance is more spicy than sweet, just the way I like it. I find it cosy, but regal and graceful all of the while. It is also somewhat gourmand and has a fruity chocolate undertone to my nose (probably the oud), which is freshened up and polished off by well blended soft spicy citrus and floral notes infused with warm amber. It smells very luxurious and could easily be mistaken for a fragrance from Cartier, for some reason I think of that perfume house when I smell this. I find it hard to describe this fragrance, it is unique to me, very complex intricate combination of well blended notes. Smells much more expensive than it is. I am very very impressed. Only downside is the bottle isn’t up too much, I dislike gold perfume bottles in general. Also note that patchoulie isn’t detectable in this.
A perfect autumn and winter scent, when you want to feel cosy but luxurious at the same time. This scent is like cashmere, Luxurious but cosy.

I wasn’t expecting this to drip with citrus like it does! In fact, to me it smells very heavily of the bitter skin of an orange with a watered down berry note grounded by wood. Other reviewers have compared this to Pert Plus Shampoo, & I would have to agree. I don’t get any vanilla, orchid, or amber. What I do get, is a thick woody citrus in a gorgeous bottle that leaves much to be desired!

Found this on clearance today at TJ Maxx. The seal was broken (it was a set with a little black make up bag) but for $8 I thought I should try. It was the last box at this store too…anyway. I quite like the bottle. I think that it was used and returned and I am not even sure it’s a full bottle though because the bottle is not see through :/ Boo
Anyway, I love the amber in this, one of my favorite scents and I thought it was creamy and quite nice. I am not too sure what oud smells like but it is definitely a oriental type fragrance. Not a floral, not a fresh and not a sweet scent but just what you would think of a oriental/bohemian scent to be 😉 Probably going to keep it. Just wish I could of found a unopened box.
    EDIT: 5/6/16
I get very little longevity with this… Boo :/ 1-2 hours?

I first smelled this perfume when I got a sample of it from a Sephora order. I had never heard of Anna Sui, so I had no idea what to expect. Once I sprayed this perfume, all I could think of was, “WOW! I NEED this perfume in my life.” It smells so good. My first thought was that it reminded me of something a hippie would wear. I actually called this my “Hippie Perfume” for the longest time.
For me, this perfume is unlike anything I’ve ever smelled. I definitely smell the oud more than any other note. I’m not sure what other notes I smell– I’m not good at picking out specific notes– all I know is that I like what I smell. Even my boyfriend who is extremely picky when it comes to smells likes this.
    Would I recommend? 100% YES

A pretty floral fruity beginning but then it morphed into a screechy patchouli or is it oud, before calming down to a gentle floral fruity dry down. Longevity is high but sillage is moderate to soft. The golden bottle is pretty.

Reminds me of generic hairspray and/or dryer sheets. (I’d consider it a sort of “industrial clean” scent.) Clean scents are not usually my cup of tea, and this is no exception. I got this at Ross very cheap. Personally, I think the bottle is the best part. Gloriously tacky! A bottle the little girl in me L-O-V-E-S. I mean come on; it has butterflies, flowers, and it’s shiny…I seriously need to stop blind buying perfumes.

LOVE the gaudy bottle, but this smells exactly like Pert Plus shampoo.

I received a free sample with a Sephora order and I have to say this fragrance makes me feel sick. The opening is fruity floral and it dries down to a headache inducing soapy scent. Not for me.

Very similar to Burberry Body at the first second on me. Though I really don’t like Burberry Body, La Nuit de Boheme somehow pleasants me a lot. Maybe it’s sweeter or more fruity than Burberry Body, so that it brings me a younger image. The oud or something woody brings an exotic atmosphere, which makes this perfume be unique and a little secret to me.
Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t like the amber in it, so I only wear it when his office time, ha!

    My views and thoughts:
Sharp and zesty opening reminds you that this is a citrusy scent. Soon after the initial zing it calms down a little leaving a lovely lemon thrill. The floral rose begins to make her appearance holding onto the lemons hand – before pushing it off the stage and singing her aria to a stunned audience. Behind the scenes the villainous Woods scowls deeply at the Rose, smirking as he knows that she will soon be overcome by his seductive powers. The final act proves this with the marriage of floral and Woods battle each other for domination in a rousing, cometragic finale.
If that was too dramatic for you here is another perspective:
Close your eyes, deeply inhale and slowly exhale a few seconds after. Keep your eyes closed, imagine birdsong – lambs baaing – the sun is shining and you feel refreshed and energised. You decide to take your puppy out for a walk in the nearest woodland you can find. The woodland is Pine and the moment you step out of the car you take a sniff of the citrus scented air. It only adds your enthusiasm as you take your puppy out of the car and start walking. Only it is now 3pm and the weather changes – dark clouds gather – and you start feeling a few drops of rain on your head. Never mind, it is still a lovely 18 degrees but, somehow; it feels warmer, muggier and the ground beneath your feet somehow feels different … alive … waking up for the ‘caffiene’ about to come. You brush your hand on the pine leaves crushing them into your palm and your olfactory nerves are swamped by a comforting deep citrus scent that you can taste on your tongue. Rain continues beating down on you but you do not mind. In fact, you end up laughing as you become drenched. Your puppy whimpers so you decide to go home. The moment you arrive home the rain stops, the sun shines and the birds start singing again. Another scent wafts its way over to you, that of the pink and red roses in your front garden, the rain making their presence known to you. You realise you still have pine leaves in your jeans pocket. You decide to pluck some soaking wet petals into your hands and mix them with the pine leaves. In your front garden you stand there, nose buried in your cupped hands and, from somewhere unknown, you catch on the gentle breeze the zing of freshly cut grass.
Roses definitely dominate the scent throughout and the longevity is quite impressive as I can still scent it on the back of my hand four hours after the initial spray. After washing your hand it does rub off a little but I re applied and it’s stronger than ever.

Oh wow, the opening notes of this perfume are an exotic dance of fruity-flowery notes that seem dangerously inviting. The dry down is gradual and more mellow and this unearths the scent of cedar, amber and patchouli which is warm and creamy – with an intermingling whisper of oud – which seemed eve so slightly plastic or synthetic (it reminded me of smelling a dolls hair for some reason) but this is hardly noticeable. The golden bottle, decorated with a golden butterfly cover, is beautifully done and makes the scent seem like a work of art.
I think “La Nuit de Boheme” may be a scent for a sophisticated woman, she knows what she is about and the man she loves. My sister said it is “the bomb” I see this as more of a night scent for some reason, although there is no musk, the clean creamy dry down last to the very end.Good staying power. Altogether there is no sticky syrupy cheap girly scent here, its for the mature of heart. Won’t knock any of my signatures out of their place but a worthy buy for those whose hearts are compelled to purchase!!!

I agree with the review below. On me, this smells like Burberry Body with a dash of Balenciaga Rosabotanica. Sort of like a sweet rose shampoo with fruit and patchouli and wood. It has this depth to it, I wouldn’t call it powdery, more like a milky, creamy powder… I’m sort of ambivalent on it. It’s ok, not my personal taste so I wouldn’t buy or wear it, but I find the scent pleasant.

This smells identical to Burberry body perfume. …but just a hint fresher or slight sweeter…but doesnt smell old lady to me…i actually like it..great for 30 and up age group…if your 20..u might smell dated.

2 Weeks ago my copain and I came by a local cosmetic shop. I saw La Vie de Boheme, the violet Anna Sui perfume there and told my copain it looks really gorgeous. And that weekend he gave me La Nuit de Boheme. He told me that when he tested female parfumes, this smelled better than La Vie de Boheme.
Having opened the box I was a little bit disappointed. Its golden bottle seemed too ‘bling-bling’, something for little girls, not for a 22 years old.
When I sprayed it on my neck, first It scented fresh and sweet combination of berry and lime. Smell like more powdery and more sweet version of Light Blue by Dolce and Gabbana.
Later I noticed oud and amber with a faint flowery scent(I think it would be lotus). Very mature, nocturnal and elegant, Definitely not a baby fragrance. It is not old-fashioned or granma parfume but I haven’ t wore such a mature one.
Then Feminine woodiness and warm amber come to the front. Oudy, ambery, woody fragrance with touch of earthly Patchouli and ‘Anna Sui powdery’ sweetness lasts for hours. Not heavy but I would not wear this in the summer. A scent for a late fall soiree. reminiscent of ladies of the old days.
P.S) My boyfriend said that he sensed an odor of ‘sucré’.

I honestly can’t understand why a new fragrance (as in this year) smells so old.
I started trying this fragrance after a friend pointed it out to me. We were having a conversation about how most of Anna Sui’s fragrances smell more or less the same, with their beautiful flankers being the main draw. Don’t get me wrong, Secret Wish was my signature when it first came out as an exclusive for Victoria’s Secret years ago, but every Anna Sui fragrance I’ve tried since then have all more or less been variations of the same thing.
My friend agreed, then suggested I try La Nuit de Bohème as it’s quite different from other Anna Sui fragrances. While I admit this is true, it’s not so different from other existing perfumes. I’ve worn it 3 times now, and every time I get the same thing. The initial spray reminds me of department store perfumes from my childhood, maybe Red Door by Elizabeth Arden or something from the early 90s. After the dry down, it smells like the soap at my grandparents’ house.
On the plus side, it’s just as well that I think this perfume smells like old people, as I find the bottle hideously tacky. This is the only Anna Sui flanker that I could say I truly find ugly. It looks like cheap plastic, the sort used for a child’s play makeup set.

I tried this again today and oh I have actually fallen in love with it & Bought it !!!! I still have no idea about that oud note but whatever it does it does it well. I get such a creamy woody spring floral smell that is so smoothly, sweetly blended, it is divine. It is thick rich and creamy this fragrance. It smells classy and clean but in no way imposing or intimidating. I do love it, it is expensive smelling and beautifully blended. It is basically beautiful, I still don’t care too much for the bottle but I bought it because the fragrance really makes me feel captivating, classy and happy.
This is unique but casually so, it is feminine and pretty and a very happy feel good perfume.

I tried this today in Debenhams and when I saw the bottle in person I was a little disappointed, the photo of the bottle looks much better. In person its kind of tacky and reminds me of plastic gold dress up shoes when your a young child ? I don’t know, that’s just what I imagined…Anyway, yes, that oud is a very interesting note indeed. I don’t think I have detected it in any other scent before, and I’m not sure what it smells of exactly though rather smooth and unique. I like it, but I’m so unsure of this scent due to amber and patchouli and this dominant oud- I therefore sort of expected this enormous heavy heady sort of ‘Grandma’ perfume, but that is not what I got at all, which I am thankful for. Yeah, maybe I didn’t spray enough, I got a pleasant smooth different opening, yet 30 seconds after spraying I just picked on some beautifully blended berry warm floral scent. I’m unsure of this one, I will give it a go next time I am in town. Could be a very interesting scent this one!
