Description
For 2012, Joop! prepared a new version of the famous men’s fragrance Joop! Homme from 1989, named Joop! Homme Wild. The new fragrance is announced as bolder, more seductive and challenging than its predecessor.
It is designed for those “bad guys” who know how to have fun; those wild, free and provocative rebels who drive bikes in distressed jeans and leather jackets. Or those who want to feel that way for a moment.
This oriental – fougere composition is developed by Alienor Massenet. The fragrance is built on many contrasts. It starts with sparkling pink pepper accord that leads to the rich, intense and dark rum absolute core. Warm trail is provided by the base of woody tones and blonde tobacco.
The fragrance is available as 30, 75 and 125 ml Eau de Toilette.
Pink Pepper,Rum,Woody Notes,White tobacco

This definitely reminds me of 1 Million.
1 Million is like the College Freshman while Joop Homme Wild is the High School Senior.
1 Million has a better blend, however both frags are of cheaper qualities.
Homme Wild is more playful. To me, the biggest difference of the two, is the cinnamon of 1 Million. It makes it more bold and more (dare I say ‘mature’).
At the end of the day, they are both similar frags, in the same genre. Homme Wild is more versatile. I like both.

Sweet fruity and smooth. Youthful and safe choise for casual wears.
Fresh but thick and has its own dark side but overall pleasant and nice fragrance
I dont get the similarity to perry ellis black vanilla despite the notes and I think joop wild is much better crafted.
Longevity is above average and projection is good for the first hour.

Just when you thought that a fragrance couldn’t get much sweeter than Joop! Homme, along comes a flanker by the name of Joop! Homme Wild.
I bought a bottle of this fragrance for my partner last year and it has been a favourite in his collection ever since. It’s not an overly complex scent, but it smells delicious and incredibly sexy on his skin.
I personally enjoy the sweeter, more ambery fragrances on him as opposed to citrus-based colognes. Every woman is different of course, but I am a woman that enjoys delectably sweet masculine aromas.
The house of Joop! is not only affordable, their fragrances are of a very high standard too. This brand tends to suit my partner’s skin chemistry well, so he owns quite a few fragrances from the house of Joop!, including the original Joop! Homme and its many flankers.
The most dominant notes to my nose include rum, pink pepper, sandalwood and cherry blossom. Due to its sweetness, a woman could definitely gender-bend this fragrance and I have admittedly stolen a few sprays from my partner’s bottle and not had anyone notice it was a “masculine fragrance”.
Of all the Joop! Homme flankers, Joop! Homme Wild is more easily accessible in the current fragrance market. It may also appeal more readily to the younger male consumers, those that may associate the original Joop! Homme with their fathers or may consider it outdated. This flanker is different enough to be considered its own stand-alone scent.

Unique and lovely sweet Joop. Lasts ages and silage is excellent. Notes are, rum tobacco and vanilla. There is nothing like this juice, quite amazing! Best for night wear.
FITIIL – :
In my view the best fragrance with Joop! printed on the bottle. It has enough boozy, warm notes to distinguish it from the synthetic fruit bomb that you encounter in everything else Joop!
I like it alot, and it would hold its own with some of the more expensive clubbing frags like 1 million, etc. But I don’t have occasion to wear it because I am past the clubbing, hey look at me! I smell like spun sugar, stage.
Which means that I will slowly use up this bottle as a fun, nighttime pool party/barbecue scent. And that will be it.
Aphazel – :
This is an addendum to my review below. It was neutral and this is very positive.
I am once again amazed at how different a scent can smell after 6 months. Before Christmas, I liked this, but was prepared to get rid of it.
Today I sprayed it when watching tv and love it. Each note is distinct and pleasant projection is good. It reminds me of Joop! Homme, but actually has none of the DNA of the original. That makes this a fantastic flanker and easy dumb grab for me. I plan to use this on pleasant summer nights or cooler weather days and nights.
This gets an upgrade from a Like on my trade list, to Love and a keeper.
Lestat13 – :
In my OPINION, Joop Homme Wild, which to my nose smells NOTHING like the superior, stronger Joop Homme, could be a highly regretful, remorseful blind buy. On initial spray, my brain smells a slight scent of coconut suntan lotion with a strong scent of red cough syrup. I don’t love it because it’s weird and uninviting, but I will keep it, because I could wear this to the gym or around the house. There is something nice and unique about it. Although I dislike it more than I like it, the bit I like is enough to not let it go.
If you have an olfactory safe zone you like to stay in, or get a headache or nausea from strong fragrances, STEER CLEAR of this one. I can see most people abhorring this frag. Joop Homme Wild is for brave, adventurous masochists. We can take it!
God bless!
romka555 – :
Obsessed with this juice. The opening had me worried because it’s pretty childish and fruity (very 1 million-esque), but as long as you have patience, you’ll be rewarded. Wild takes longer than most fragrances to reallllyyyy dry down. Maybe it’s because my atomizer spits out so much juice? The first time i sprayed it I had an entire puddle on my arm.
Once the base notes finally come through, Wild becomes much more classy, deep, and boozy. The white tobacco is heavenly and keeps the composition from getting too heavy.
Because of the opening, I thought the people comparing this to Jazz Club were nuts. But I’m starting to understand the comparisons as long as they’re being compared 4+ hours into their drydowns. I actually think this is more unisex than Jazz Club. Neither fragrance could replace the other, but if you like Jazz Club and don’t feel like spraying it all the time, this is a good, cheap, every day alternative provided you suffer through the opening. And if the coconut note in Jazz Club is what you’re after, don’t even bother with this because it’s just not there.
Overall: great longevity (10+ hours), versatile, unisex, YUMMY

Joop Homme was my signature scent for 15 years. This is similar in construction. The notes are indistinct and impossible to separate or identify.
It is sweet. The middle develops after about 30 minutes and it opens to the softer, more bearable base. Typical Joop, the rum does not really smell like rum. The tobacco, pepper, and wood, do not really smell like those notes either. The scent is just notes smeared together.
It is decent and cheap. I bought the 4.2oz. That is probably too much for me, but the price difference between the 1oz and 4.2oz is negligible.
This would be a great choice for a young man with a limited collection of scents for socializing and dating. Not really a need for someone collecting or an afficionado.

What is the batch code of your bottle? Is it the brown bottle or the more purple-ish bottle? Coty is notorious for reformulating fragrances.
leveTutty – :
On paper, I should love Joop! Homme Wild. A mix of spicy, boozy, woody and fruity notes. It’s made up of notes I like and I am glad that Simply Put Scents brought it to my attention. I bought it cheap on eBay in a 1oz size. I was super excited to try it. But then I wore it and I suffered from anticpointment (the feeling of excitement before an event, only to be let down by it), a feeling I don’t feel often from fragrances but it sometimes happens.
When I wear Joop! Homme Wild and I wonder what is wrong that I am not getting the performance others get from it. I get a very fruity rum scent, like say a Malibu from the rum note. It is sweet enough I can see the bubble gum comments from other reviewers but I don’t get it myself. The rum really is over-powering in this scent. I really don’t get any other note the way I do the rum. Whether you mean pink pepper, the ambigous woody note or white tobacco. I do notice the pink pepper and white tobacco but you have to cut it through the Malibu rum note. Now while I do like boozy notes, especially rum, this scent seems far too rum heavy. I think it would work far better if it had more of a Joop! Homme feel where you do experience several scents and not just one single scent with traces of the others.
Performance is weird. At first I didn’t notice it lasting more than 4-6 hours or having super strong projection, but I have noticed it lasting pretty good but not quite a beast. It would last about 7 hours and projects for about an hour and a half, not like Joop! Homme. That said, it is fairly limited in use. You should only use it during tropical vacations, on dates and in clubs though spray it heavily. I do think it is a year round night scent though.
I give Joop! Homme Wild, a 7.1 out of 10. I like it but it needs more to it. I previously gave a 6.7, but I realize that isn’t THAT bad of a scent.

This is awful. It’s like the worst synthetic vanilla over, over sickeningly sweet smell you can ever imagine. I like sweet fragrances but this is too much. Smells extremely cheap and synthetic, no class at all.
So far the only fragrance I ‘regret’ purchasing. Lucky it was fairly inexpensive.
dis441speagoessenda – :
Loving it! This is my 5th Joop! fragrance and I just can’t get enough of these powerhouses. Joop Wild is very different from the others but I can detect a little original Joop’s DNA. In fact, in every Joop fragrance I can detect some of the original, but very little. Joop Wild is like Old Spice on Steroids with its Bay Rum vibe and spicey drydown and hints of wood. However, unlike Old Spice, Wild is very sweet with masculine florals and all so sexy. I just love this fragrance. This is not “nice guys smells sexy” like One Million. It’s more like bad boy smells sexy and dirty. Absolutely not for work, business meetings or the office. It’s too flirtatious as somebody here commented. Joop Wild is ideal for summer or warm nights going out for a cocktail, bar hopping, clubbing, evening dates, nights at the beach bar hopping, etc. Ages would be 18 to 50 depending on your personality. It’s a fragrance when you are out to have fun. It’s not a serious fragrance – it’s fun in a bottle on summer nights.

Short review:
starts off smelling boozy and floral. then starts to smell exactly like Lynx/Axe Excite
Scent 8/10; masculine, tropical coconut
Longevity 7/10; 7-8 hours
Sillage/projection 7/10; for the first 2 hours about arms length
Versatility 8/10; good in the club and as casual
Age group; young 15-30 Personally I don’t think this would suit the older crowd to well
AVOILLANEUSIA – :
Instant detection of the original Joop Homme dna but quickly develops into a more aromatic boozy, almost tropical scent. Doesn’t last that long though which is a bit of a disappointment. More mature than the original yet still leans toward the younger crowd. Very nice.

I tried Maison Martin Margiela’s “Jazz Club” recently, and found it very similar in vibe to The One – the fruity notes and smooth blending. The main difference was a subtle coconut note. In the comments under Jazz Club, someone compared it to both Joop Wild and the One. Now I’ll need to try this, because if the reviews are right it’s probably the best value
Agifssill – :

Arotarmovirty – :
Fantastic longevity/sillage. You’ll easily get noticed.
Joop Wild is more masculine than Joop Homme due to its boozy accord, granted that they’re both intoxicatingly sweet scents. The fruits in this one are very pronounced, especially in the opening.
There’s no need to overapply this one – it’s a loud yet “optimistic” scent.
Mekgj164Bessinepome – :
This fragrance is a very nice fragrance, because it has the ability to bring a summer vibe to the colder temperatures. The coconut vibe is well blended into this synthetic composition it is not very detectable. Synthetic is not a negative here, because it has a candy type of vibe from the coconut and rum notes. However, it is not overly sweet. It has just a touch. A youtube reviewer said that it reminds him of DG The One…hmmmmm
SNIFF, SNIFF, SNIFF again…hmmmm OK…
It reminds me of DG The One too in the foundation somewhere lol. It is like a distant cousin that looks like you, but he/she is the less serious one lol. That it what this fragrance is to DG The One. A less serious DG The One on Summer break in the cold temps. LOL. Don’t get me wrong… it is NOT DG quality or as good. However, it can be smelled in the DNA or heart of your skin. That is the point. The white tobacco gives just enough bitterness to keep it from going to too sweet, and the woody note gives it enough depth to be taken seriously.
8/10 in all categories. projection, longevity etc.
Cons: Not good for work. Too flirtatious…:)
Pros: Can be worn all year too. Be careful during high heat. IMHO.
21+ age range.

Updated review:
So this was a scent that when I first smelled it initially I didn’t hate this but I thought it was too sweet for my taste but this is a scent that the more I wear it the more I like it and I can see this becoming a favorite of mine in the cooler months.
This opens up very sweet but there’s some note in the beginning that also smells like some type of citrus. If I’m to be honest this smells the candy smarties in the opening.lol
In the mid the sweetness from the top is still there but fades a little and then the rum kicks in making this smooth out and some say this smells like Malibu but to my nose this smells as if you took fruit punch and mixed rum into it. A really appealing scent for sure !
Then in the base it’s pretty much the same but in the base you do get a touch of that tobacco. In the drydown of this it does remind me slightly of Ck One Shock.
Occasion for this would be casual outings such as parties, clubbing and I could see this being a good beach scent for cooler nights as this rum note makes me think of vacation. I also see this being more of a night out fragrance rather than for daily use.
Season for this would definitely be any season with the exception of really hot humid days as the sweetness could become overbearing BUT this would be perfect for cooler summer nights.
Performance on this very good and it borders on being beast mode ! This lasts on my skin 7-12 hours and projects for 3-4 hours.
Overall rating — 7.5 out of 10 ! A pretty unique fragrance that is under rated for sure and this is an absolute steal for the price. A cheapie but goodie for sure !
Mustafa88 – :
Unlike another reviewer, I definitely don’t think it’s too peppery. However, I do detect something that sweetens and softens it up just a bit. Interestingly, it doesn’t come across as specific, such as vanilla, amber, benzoin, tonka/coumarin, etc, which is good, because I already have plenty of those. It’s also a bit dry, and while some sites list a fougere accord, it is very minimal here. The overall impression is a very tight construction, at least when you get to the drydown, but it does smell quite pleasant. I was thinking I’d smell a fairly strong rum note and a clear if light tobacco, but it’s more like one major accord an hour or so into the development. At a discounted price I’d buy it, mostly because I already own so many with rum or tobacco notes (and pepper isn’t that interesting to me).
valerka64 – :
I have a sample and tested: on me it was simply awful, definitely masculin, too peppery by far and with a small longevity. Probably partially anosmic to it. I love Joop homme (the vintage Homme, which was a very different beast from the one sold nowadays, much more like vintage Le Male) but this one is not for me. I think though it is not very common and on men probably will be original and daring.

Guys pls don’t ride the Joop hate train and overlook this cologne! Amazing scent, great longevity (12+ hours easy) and sillage. All at a very cheap price. I have never seen any YouTube reviewer even mention this on their channel. Do give it a try, although might not suit a mature gentlemen. Amazing for young guys, especially in a night out and clubbing scene.

Got it really cheap (200ml for 30 euro!). It’s identical to Axe excite smell wise. If you like that smell you’ll love this one!!!
Totally not getting that Malibu and/or rum vibe. It’s kind of hard to describe the scent well. It does have a slight coconut note in it. I would say it’s more leaning towards a fig/plum smell mixed in with some wood undertones. Not a bad smell. At the moment I would give it a 7/10.

The fragrance smells great, the presentation, however, looks almost as stupid as your standard offering from Ed Hardy. Wild west text with skull wearing sunglasses? Who was the backwards-hat wearing moron who gave that foolishness the green light?
Anyway… The only thing this has in common with original Joop is the name. This one is sweet, vanilla rum. Just dissimilar enough from suntan lotion that you can wear this one without being on vacation. I’m not big on sweet frags but this is a good one.
twopewoaz – :
The uggliest flacon ever, still quite a nice juice on it, the pink pepper and the rum rule this dark and mysterious fragrance. It has a light sweetness that shows up in the drydown, but it’s not even close to the nauseating sweetness present on the classic Joop! Homme. 8 of 10 in my opinon.
Aaliyah_fromAF – :
A little strong/synthetic and in your face at first blast(it is a Joop scent afterall, what else would you expect right?!lol)but when it mellows out, it’s really nice. Sweet, boozy and spicy with a little tropical feel in the background…long lasting too. Very nice release from the house of Joop!

Perfect for a casual messy night out. Going to disagree with the majority about it being for winter, I find it to be good for a warm summer night mostly. Would work well in winter as well don’t get me wrong.. Think it’s just that boozy vibe it gives off!
Хлебанный Пикадор – :
Sweet spicy rum! I thought it quite weak on initial application, but its grown somewhat. To my mind, its a sweeter spicier version of the original, which itself wasn’t too disimilar to Polo Red (just cheaper!). I get the rum note and the pink pepper, there from the outset. Upon dry-down its changed little, perhaps a little coconut underneath – reminiscent of a hard boiled sweet (Jolly Ranchers etc). All in all, its a fun, playful, cheeky, weekend fragrance – possibly too sweet for some.
safas – :
I’ve never smelled the original Joop and based on my dislike of ultra sweet scents I’m going to steer clear of it. For some reason though I was at Marshalls a few days ago and saw a bunch of interesting scents for 15 bucks, so I grabbed a bottle of Joop Wild because it’s received positive feedback on fragrantica and I could use something sweet for winter.
The pyramid on fragrantica is ultra simple. Pink pepper top, rum base, wood and tobacco heart.
Forget the top and the heart. The initial spray is bubble gum and pure sugar, like a pile of 14 year old girls who bathed in Victoria Secret body spray just writhed all over me. It’s so sweet and childlike I felt like I was going to end up on a watch list somewhere.
Then comes the “rum.” It smells a bit like a sweetened rum ala Malibu or some Bacardi abomination. But calling Malibu rum is like calling Natty Boh beer. I mean, yeah, technically it is, but we all know it’s really not. So we have bubbelgum, sugar, teen girl smell and Bacardi rum. Now we’ve progressed into what a couple of frat parties I went to smelled like.
At this point it’s not five minutes in and I’m regretting wasting my money and debating hopping in the shower, but then a miracle happened. It stopped being utter shit.
The base is supposed to be woods and tobacco but it’s mainly tobacco dominate. A soft, blonde, sweet tobacco that is in no way niche quality but I’m struggling to think of a designer scent that is as dominated by tobacco as Joop Wild. Sure Burberry London has pipe tobacco and Versace Dreamer has the fresh opened pack of Marlboro’s tobacco, but this is closer I think to Dolce and Gabanna pour Homme’s latest incarnation. An ultra smooth, sweet, friendly tobacco smell. Is it synthetic? Yes. However it’s incredibly pleasant, it lasts and it projects.
So if you can survive the screaming pedophile opening, you’re rewarded with something that is genuinely unique, at least in my collection. It’s handled heat exceptionally well, and I keep catching whiffs of that beguiling tobacco note throughout the day. Longevity is at 9 hours now and still going strong.
Would I wear this in a club? Yes, yes I would. If you want a sweet scent ala 1 Million, this is an excellent choice. I doubt I will wear it to work again until it gets really cold, but I’d curious to see what sort of tone the tobacco will take on in the dead of winter.
Who can wear it? I can’t picture this on anyone over 40. I’m 32 and doubting myself, it’s clearly a scent aimed at a younger generation with a very specific task in mind.
Where to wear it? Clubs, dates, casual outings. It’s not a professional scent at all.
How much to wear? I’d say 3 chest, 1 neck. It projects but it’s not dense enough to be cloying, so if you want a scent to announce your presence you can’t half ass it.
Wear this not that: I like 1 Million better due to the orange and suede drydown I get, but the tobacco here almost feels like soft suede in a way. So if you want something a little more refined, get 1 Million but realize everyone else in the club has already gotten it too.
Also if you’re female and want to try this, go right ahead. The notes are so gender neutral in the base that I can’t picture them being out of place on a woman, and the top and heart are better suited to the fairer sex.
I can’t give this a glowing review because I don’t really like ultra sweet club scents, but I can’t give it a bad review either because it does exactly what it sets out to do. A fair score would be a 6/10, moving dramatically up to an 8/10 if this is the sort of scent you like.
snow_8568 – :
It is very sweet but if you spray just tiny amount on the right spots it works very well, if you wish to wear a sweet scent with some notice but without overpowering your and others senses. I had spraied it one day on clothes to make a test and I´ve already forget when a cowork admired the sweet smell coming from somewhere on me (while I didn’t smell anything anymore). I came back to this scent because of this, but is not one I use regularly. It’s different from others Joops I know, and from others sweet scents too, and a very interesting counterpoint to One Million, 212 Vip and other sweet scents. All I can conclude is that it is a nice try from Joop!
gena00 – :
This one was a surprise!!! I found this at TJ Maxx for $15.00. So I said what the heck right? The fragrance is sweet initially with this almost bubblegum accord. But after the rum kicks in, the smell definitely changes and turns into an almost darker version of PR Invictus (Which I wouldn’t buy) however I do think it smells good. I like this smell throughout. Does have some versatility depending on your personal style.

i have this since two months a 125ml box back, i got this as a gift from my uncle and as i m not a fan of the original joop i didnt open it as i have lot of other ones BUT yesterday GUYS i decided to open and wear it for night out to a casual bar and i must say i didnt like the smell personally as it reminded me of a cough syrup from childhood but it happened the same with me in Escada magnetism but it got me tons of compliments alike this one and wow good 6-8 hrs strong longevity with 2 hours of nice then moderate projection…I will use it on and off for casual meetings.
Great boozy wibe with soft touch of woods and hint of spice, i will prefer this on Pure Malt by TM.
After 2 hours of applying i was enjoying it in the heat of Bar and i fired like 7 heavy sprayers,it has a mighty sprayer though.
This is that kind of scent you need to stay and play with it as ppl around you will like it but you wont in the first round but then you will start liking it as the game of compliments will keep moving on, yes this one is different.

I’m enjoying this much more than the original joop and this is a great date or club scent. Wild doesn’t get to sweet for the wearer and may go unnoticed until you receive compliments from others and yes it stay around for a good 8 hours or more so a great buy IMO.

Just got a 4.2 oz bottle of Joop! Wild in the mail. I literally opened it and tested it just 30 minutes ago. It is AMAZING. The opening is out of this world. My only complaint is i’m not a huge coconut fan but it’s tolerable in Wild. I do get the AXE Excite vibe as well but for me, it’s not a bad thing.
Sillage is good so far. I think it tops the new reformulation of Joop! Homme (which I love. Easily one of my favorites). I get a sense of original Joop’s DNA in Wild but it wouldn’t be detectable if someone wasn’t familiar with the original. I have gone thru 4 ounces of original Joop in the past year alone so I am very familiar (don’t judge me!). Wild is definitely unique. It is worth a shot, don’t let it’s name turn you away. I paid $30 (shipping included) for this 4.2 oz bottle, so that’s very budget friendly. I will definitely re-buy when the time comes.
I’m going to keep my regular Joop! Homme to wear at home since it’s one of those scents I wear just for my own liking. Joop! Homme Wild will be my going out scent
10/10!!

First off, I am a Joop-aholic. I understand in the fragrance world that Joop has quite a negative reputation, but I simply adore a lot of their fragrances for both men and women. I can certainly see why so many hold many Joop fragrances with contempt, especially the original Joop! Homme, because many people are put off by loud fragrances, however I believe that, much like alcohol or sweets, anything can be great when done in proportion.
With Joop! Homme Wild, the issue isn’t the scent. The issue is the marketing. There’s nothing “wild” about this. In fact, quite the contrary. This is a soft, sweet, almost sensual fragrance that could definitely be marketed as unisex. I believe that it would have been appropriate to be named “Joop! Go – Night Edition” because it simply takes the fruity elements of Joop! Go and replaces them with boozy, spicy elements. Both share a common under-belly that isn’t quite the original Joop! Homme DNA, but clearly recognizable and present in Summer Ticket, Splash, etc.
The pink pepper is strong, yet is not piercing or spicy. It is softened by the rum and tobacco, which almost gives it a powdery feel. Very linear, of course, as we’ve come to know from this house. That’s not an insult by any means, it’s just a statement of fact. The dry down really doesn’t bring anything out that hasn’t already been detected. The One Million comparison is pretty weak, and only the general feel is similar. The scent itself is entirely different.
The silage is absolutely amazing. When I worked at a large office, this would by far get me the most attention.
