Description

Kenzo is launching the new fragrance of the collection Jeu d’Amour which will provide a sensual, warmer and deeper interpretation of the original version characteristic for its subtle and milky blend of tuberose and sandalwood, delicately refreshed with fruity drops of pomegranate and mandarin. The more intense version repeats notes of tuberose and mandarin, which are now even more tempting thanks to patchouli and rum.

The composition of the new JEU D’AMOUR L’ELIXIR opens with green zests of mandarin and thick, irresistible scents of blackberry. The heart blooms with tuberose surrounded with elegant jasmine, resting on patchouli, vanilla and intoxicating rum notes. The fragrance was announced as ‘elixir of love game; love potion which will make the women more sensual and seductive than ever before’. The fragrance is signed by perfumer Daphne Bugey.

Flacon of the fragrance repeats the shape of its antecedents, but this time in purple, promising a sensual and juicier blend of notes. The fragrance is available as a 30ml,50ml and 75ml EDP. It is expected in sales starting from February 1st 2016. Face of the advertising campaign is model Louise Bourgoin.
Jeu d’Amour l’Elixir was created by Daphne Bugey and Christophe Raynaud.

Overly sweet scent, vanillla and berry with a lot of caramel. That’s it. I find it simple, really sweet without depth. Had a sample.

I could only detect berry, vanilla, caramel and sandalwood in this one. Vanilla and caramel here are quite soft and “quiet” as a gently sweet background for berry (in the opening) and strong wood note (in the dry down) to shine. It is not a heavy gourmand fragrance in case you wonder.
I don’t find Jeu d’Amour l’élixir distinctively similar to SF Signorina Misteriosa, even thought they both share a berry note from the opening. The patchouli in that one stands out much stronger while in this one, it is the wood note.
I like Jeu d’Amour l’élixir, even though I prefer the dry down and transformation in Signorina Misteriosa better. Maybe I should layer them both. That definitely would be VERY interesting.

Amazing sweetly citrus berry boozy vanilla. I love this sort of scent – gourmands are high rotation with me at the moment. Earthy smooth patchouli and sandalwood keeps this grounded and from being too girly and sweet. This is a high quality vanilla based fragrance with moderate projection and longevity. It’s perfect for both evening and everyday wear, and the combo of fruit and vanilla means I can wear this year round.
I do think this is a little more feminine than most of my other gourmands, but it would work as a masculine fragrance as well. I don’t get a lot of floral which is odd as I’m very sensitive to too much tuberose.
Overall – very well blended and balanced and a happy blind buy. If you like gourmands, you’ll love this.

    Jeu d’amore
Overall this is sweet, fruity edge, and must have the white florals and caramelly notes as support as it veers towards having a juicy edge rather than a vanillery edge.
    It lasts reasonably well

This is a whole lot of tuberose and a sharp jasmine with a tiny bit of fruit and caramel. I don’t find this scent gourmand. It’s all about the white florals.

June7rose: depends on chemistry but on me this was pure caramel and blackberry underlined with vanilla. None of the other notes would step up on me. Actually very lovely fragrance. Definitely gourmand, not fruitchouli.

I sprayed it accidentally on my hand today, when i wanted to spray it on the test strip.
On me, it is a warm, rich and powdery caramel, with a intensive berry opening.
Not my thing, because i don’t like caramel and i also don’t like berries, but i have to say the caramel note is superbly done here. Caramel fans will surely love this fragrance. Berry fans will also like this, but keep in mind that the berry note here is intense but short lived.
I would recommend this scent to someone who is looking for a dark but warm fragrance, and to people who like powder.

Can a lady who has tried this tell me how strong the patchouli and tuberose are? It sounds like a winner to me but for those ingredients, which aren’t my personal favorites. Love blackberry, vanilla, caramel, sugar, etc.

And when I thought Kenzo can’t really make gourmands, here comes this fragrance.
Opening with dark and prominet blackberry followed by very present caramel.
The drydown doesn’t change it much if you ask me. I get some vanilla, unfortunately I can’t detect rum, and some floral notes in the background, I wish jasmine would be more prominent here.
Sweet, warm, comforting. It’s not like I would get a bottle myself, but I have to pay Kenzo some respect for this one.
    To me solid 7/10.

I love Jeu d’Amour as a fresh floral daytime scent, I like Kenzo in general so I was very curious for the Jeu d’Amour flankers.
L’Elixir starts with a super strong raspberry/strawberry and vanilla combination. It’s funny, the Félin flanker has a strawberry note but smells more like blackberry to me, and this has a blackberry note and smells like strawberry. It’s extremely sweet.
The tuberose that is in all Jeu d’Amour scents joins the fruity notes, at this phase it’s a bit similar to the original Jeu.
Now I notice a difference depending on the weather. As I tested it in warm weather on the inside of my elbow, it got really weird. It smelled like caramel, but also like monoi oil and a bit fruity. Very heady and like a crude mixture and somehow also like a shower gel.
I later tested it again on my arm in cooler temperatures and now it dried down to a sweeter Jeu d’Amour with a strong berry and a slight boozy note.
Overall I’m not impressed. The cool skin version is okay, not great but not bad, the warm skin version is just uuuugh. Might be better on different people, of course, but try with caution.
The original Jeu d’Amour EDP is still the best scent from this line.

The opening of this reminds me of Escada’s Magnetism. Tart berries mixed with something green, patchouli in this case. Whereas Magnetism had patch, basil, cassis and green leaves. I do pick up on a hint of citrus and florals. Sweet and tart without being cloying/candy-like.
Pleasant, but nothing ground-breaking. Having owned Magnetism for several years I think I’ve done by dash in this department.

    Tried now, winter
    Similar to
    Black opium by YSL
Jeu d’armour elixir by kenzo, but this flower is louder. The FLOWER elixir in red bottle I mean.
I am juicy by juicy couture
Paco rabanne xs – but paco I get a soft sugar bomb, and that is supposed to have cocoa etc
This is quieter than the others I’ve listed. It’s got s delicious juicy opening, the accords look right, it’s like a direct relative of those other sweet, juicy, vanillary ones. All fab, but you don’t really need them all.

This is a big hitter, I tried it on a card, and it’s big, warm, sweet, floral.
    Black opium
Paco rabanne xs (in scent only)
    YSL manifesto
You know where I’m going. Those sort etc
No comment on strength or sillage

First thought: BABY Y U SO STRONG. Second thought: BABY Y U SO SWEET. Now the tiny spray has been on my arm for about ten minutes and it smells like berries and chocolate. Sweet but not exactly in a sweet way… a bit in an aggressive way, like cherry bonbons which turn out to be more alcoholic than expected. Yet, I only smell it when I sniff my arm. I would say moderate sillage, though very strong already in a tiny amount. Not for me, doesn’t go with my body chemistry: too sharp-sweet and not warm and comforting, which I usually like.

It smells great.I agree smell like bottle’s color.very dark purple.because biggest thing I can smell is black berry.smells like a dessert if blackberry jam and cream with a glass of expensive sweet wine in a very fancy restaurant that the gentleman who loves you take you there for night and acts with you like you are a queen.this is perfume of a sexy queen not a princess girl.I can smell blackberry jam, syrupy and a little tart but more sweet and dark purple, very small shot of wine in the beginning.then tuberose and Jasmine that are like white cream mix with blackberry syrup and very small amount of patchouli.I agree this is very sexy and very fancy and feminine.it’s very sweet in beginning but them sweetness is less intense and less sharp.I can’t smell any orange or vanilla.longevity is very good but I have a sillage problem.when I smell the place of my body that I sprayed this I see that it’s still very strong.but when I’m out I can’t smell it around me.but actually my friends say after you go out of a room we can smell it for long time.so maybe it’s sillage is good too.it’s a warm perfume not good for summer
    9/10

It’s the first time I’m trying it on my skin and I find it sweet, delightful, luxurious, classy, seductive, charming and feminine in a mature way
If you’re not into sweet scents it’s not for you.it opens sweet with fruit notes/black berry and becomes even more syrupy sweet as it dries down thanks to the boozy vanilla and caramel.but there’s enough florals to give it a mature, ladylike vibe and a hint of patchouli, sandalwood and rum to give it depth
It’s not a childish candy but a sensual delicious confection
I can’t compare it with original jeu d’amour because I’ve just tried that one on paper but elixir version seems to be less floral, warmer, sweeter,a tad darker and all in all more likable for me,so I chose it over original and I think I’m gonna use it alot in these fall and winter nights
It’s an hour I’ve applied it and it’s just as strong as first minute.it seems to have a good sillage(which is more important for me than Longevity) I really like this one
    Edit:
After a couple of full wears I can say that I’m very glad with my purchase, not anything ground breaking but still it’s delicious, sexy and classy. and I may repurchase it whenever my 50 mil tester bottle finishes.it’s rich, seductive and delicious.I’m loving this lovely combination of black berry, caramel, florals and boozy vanilla, so deep and sweet and stays easily on my skin for +8 hours with a good projection.it smells just like the color of bottle
    If you’re a gourmand lover and you’re +25 give it a try
P.s:I agree about similarities with signorina misteriosa but this one has more syrupy/caramelized sweetness and is a tad richer, all in all I prefer Kenzo but I may consider buying ferragamo instead of repurchasing kenzo just to experience a new one
    ❤❤❤❤

This is a typical modern frontloaded bomb of sweetness. At first it’s kinda nice, but after a while you’ll start to wonder if that screechy smell lingering around is, in fact, your perfume. Take something like CK Euphoria and mix it with the original Jeu d’Amour, amp up the sweet notes even further and there you have it!
I don’t know about the longevity because in less than an hour it became unbearable and I was forced to scrub it off. The projection was pretty massive, though…

The opening is a delightful caramellic, floral-fruity scent which wowed me. However, the pungent tuberose appeared after a while and ruined my joy. It became sharper and sharper till the scent almost became a semi-sweet floral on me.
If you’re planning to buy this, give it some time on your skin to make sure this doesn’t happen to you.
As for the sillage and longevity, I would say they’re both poor on me, I’m afraid.

This is an evening perfume, a bit too heavy for the day.
It is very warm and sweet to me. I do smell plenty of patchouli and vanilla and something fruity, but I can’t define this fruity as a blackberry, to me it is more like orange…

Wow, this is a beautiful scent. Soft, warm, sweet and floral, well composed.
Reminds me of homemade berry jam. I can sense blackberry, vanilla and floral notes like tuberose that gives a good balance to the sweet notes.
I have liked everything Amour by Kenzo so far and this is not an exception.
This is really sweet, seductive, sexy scent, a love potion, just as advertised.
Natural smelling, even in it’s sweetness.

What a sexy, deep, night perfume! I like this one so much, it smells very provocative and womanly. It’s heavy on tuberose and gourmie notes. Sillage and longevity are great. The color of the bottle is hypnotic. This perfume is a proof that tuberose can be sexy.

In love with this , it’s a sweet warm vanilla blackberry scent , tuberose does smell quite nice in here and dominant and I don’t mind it at all. Caramel , rum and mandarine is also detectable and it all goes so well together that I can’t get enough of it. It manages to smell fresh ! Sweet fresh ! The patchouli is there but stubble , just enough to keep it earthy and grounded. Complete winner ! I bought this on my trip to Aruba and I can’t find it here in Canada yet. I hope it gets here soon as I am half way done my bottle !
My husband loves it , he says it reminds him of poison. In fact he thought I was wearing poison when I wear this. This is definitely the same family and similar notes as poison but it’s more modern and fresher with no incense. I prefer it to poison !

It’s similar to Signorina Misteriosa, possibly because of blackberry, tuberose, vanilla and patchouli all together. It’s nice, I like it, but something bothers me a bit, I guess it’s like usual – tuberose.

This is one of the most bizarre perfumes I’ve ever tried. I had a few spritzes on my arm and thought that it took a really long time for the alcohol to evaporate. After half an hour, I could only detect a super faint floral blackberry, with a bit of very soft vanilla lingering through and then it completely dissapeared on me after the two hour mark. I had another spritz on the back of my hand where it seemed to last a bit longer, but the sillage stayed very very soft. For some uncomprehensible reason, my nose seems incapable of detecting this scent. I find that it stays quite sharp and boozy, maybe because of the rum notes?
Not sold on this one, I much prefer the original Jeu d’Amour. The fact that they named this one elixir confuses me, because the original has a lot more intensity and a stronger sillage.
