Description

Jeanne Lanvin is launching a new fragrance Jeanne Lanvin Couture presented as a new interpretation of the original perfume Jeanne Lanvin with a sophisticated composition, refined nuances and sophisticated woody base. The new fragrance highlights femininity and style and uses its seductive composition to accentuate elegance characteristic of the house of Lanvin.

Jeanne Lanvin Couture is available in an elegant flacon in violet shades with a decorative ribbon on the neck of the flacon, also in violet. Game of violet shades is iridescent, from dark to pale, almost transparent violet, accentuating outlines of the flacon very clearly.

Top notes of the composition provide juicy and tasty raspberry accords, refreshed with morning dew and natural shades of violet leaves. A heart of the composition is sexy ad very sensual, composed of peony flowers and magnolia essences from Laboratories Monique Rémy.

Cedar accords are the ground of the composition and they provide unique sensibility mixed perfectly with musk. The composition was created with an aim to have an innocent facade hiding a strong and sensual blend of musk and wood.

The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 100ml EDP, on the market from April 2012. Perfumer is Domitille Bertier.

This is a cute scent. It’s more sophisticated than what might be considered a “typical” aquatic, with he cedar and violet leaf quite strong. And the raspberry is really light . . . Almost sheer.
Also, it has a bit of a tart, almost citrus note. Someone mentioned passion fruit, and I can see that. But I really only get that when my arm isn’t up to my nose.
The staying power isn’t horrid, and silage is light. If you are looking for a unique, clean, aquatic scent for hot weather, or any time, this might suit you quite well. Unfortunately, since I think the bottle is so cute, I won’t be spending my money on this one.

This is so good .. love it

Blend some LVEB-ish scent with Miracle ans voila, you have this one. It hast the worst staying power I’ve EVER experienced, unfortunadely, cause it smells delicious. Safe and delicious.

Got it super cheap and even though it was really cheap I am not buying it again as the sillage and longevity aren’t great and it has that generic raspberry watery smell that a lot of perfumes have nowadays and in general is just nothing special. I like aquatics and this one is not the worst but definitely not good enough to repurchase!

Wow! such a nice fruity scent so fresh but i also smell a little bit of passion fruit? haha cute on!

Bought this as a blind buy. Never have I been this deceived by a fragrance and probably won’t be wearing it at all.
First off, the perfume applies weirdly. By that I mean it remains wet on the skin for a minute and smells like I’ve squirted a grapefruit and some alcohol on myself. As soon as it dries, the smell dissipates all together as if I didn’t apply anything! Even if I stick my nose directly to my skin, can’t smell anything at all

It’s not nearly as fresh or light as i thought based on notes and some reviews, it has depth. Purple toned bottle suits it well. I’m surprised that black currant/cassis isn’t listed as a note, as I find it quite prominent. Actually, I’m a little concerned if it strikes people as a cat pee smell, when I’m wearing this… (as cassis often does, IMO.) Lasting power and sillage both seem moderate. I think it smells better on clothing. Anyway, I think I’m gonna give this one away, I don’t really feel like wearing it, I’ve got nicer frags…

My God this is gorgeous!! Elegant, feminine, classy and mysterious. Very purple. Very seductive and beguiling. Such lovely raspberry. I love raspberry, and this is divine. Such a lovely gentle soft woody dry down, and it lasts extremely well. 8 hours and longer, but I do put more on every now and then to hype up the beautiful raspberry and flowers again! I adore it. And my husband does too. Everyone does actually – I get amazing compliments from everyone. And the bottle is superb. Such a glorious colour. It’s one of my all time favourites.

This makes violet leaf work for me. The raspberry balances it out perfectly, almost creating a clean musky impression with a fruity edge. I see the resemblance to Midnight Rose and also to Midnight Romance, this is basically a lovechild of the two. I am particularly pleased that the pesky pink pepper (allitteration galore) that bothered me in Midnight Rose is nowhere to be found. Pleasing.

Sprayed this last night after showering and am surprised by how much I like it as it isn’t one of the heavy-hitting orientals I usually favour.
It’s sweet, but not in a cloying way. Fresh and with a woody undercurrent. I keep getting delicious wafts and wonder what the scent is, as it seems to change each time.
I have Lalique Amethyst and can smell the resemblance, but LA is sharper fruitier.
Longevity is very good – I can still smell now, well over 8 hours since spraying.
    Sillage moderate from outset.
    I ALMOST love this.

This fragrance really is similar to Tresor Midnight Rose and what a great frag for fall and evenings. This one is a little stronger on the violet leaf and cedar than Tresor which gives it a little edgy feel but it really is very similar, just not as soft.

I was looking for a new perfume to wear in the spring & summer and I thought that Lanvin Jeanne Couture would be the perfect choice. During the spring this is amazing, cool and humid weather suit Jeanne Couture extremely well! At first when applied I feel the green notes from the violet leaf, which have slightly violet touch and give the scent the green freshness that stays till the end. Water notes are surprisingly realistic, actually this is the first perfume I’ve ever tried that has so strong and thick water notes and I love that feeling. Raspberry here is fresh and quite delicate, just to give the scent some sweetness, but the perfume is definitely not sweet at all. 5 minutes after applying I feel clear peony, which scent pairs perfect with the rest of the notes. The feeling that I get whenever I wear this perfume is freshness, calmness and spring on the riverside, surrounded by greenness, blooming peonies and raspberry bush after rain ♥ This is how I feel the perfume during the spring, complemented in the base by some cedar and if it stays like this during the summer I would love to add it into my perfume collection. But! Hot and dry weather makes it sharp and almost plain magnolia-ish. During the summer this perfume is completely different – summer weather is what changes the perfumes so much so water notes and raspberry are gone, but magnolia appears so much that almost turns the fragrance into a mono magnolia scent. I don’t like magnolia at all, it gives me headache. Cedar is almost gone too. But musk appears which I also don’t like at all since I found it too cloying. In hot and dry weather Jeanne Couture is completely floral, it’s fresh, but it’s too sharp for my taste as well, while in cool and humid weather the sharpness is gone, replaced by the water notes and the slightly sweetness of the raspberry. For my liking this perfume is absolutely a springtime scent, it’s too sharp for the summer, because of the magnolia note, too fresh for the autumn and too floral for the winter. Longevity is good – around 8 hours, after that is lighter but it’s still noticeable till the end of the day and I even feel it on my skin after shower. It has pretty good sillage too. This perfume is definitely beautiful, especially if you like floral fragrances. I suggest a good test before buy, because this perfume changes a lot depending on the meteorological conditions, and magnolia is also a tricky note – it turns out really sour on some skins.
I might buy a 30ml. bottle to wear it only in the spring. Speaking of the bottle – how beautiful is this! I love all of Lanvin’s bottles ♥

I have both Jeanne Couture and Lancome Midnight Rose but I don’t see the likeness between them. MR is MUCH sweeter, juicier and warmer than JC. While JC is more fresh and suitable for summer 😛 I also smell Black currant in this scent 😀

    Another shampoo-ey scent out there.
Raspberry is very prominent as it is in lots of shampoos. A bit disappointed in the house of Lanvin.
I find this perfume nice. But nothing special about it.
Good for casual or office use. Inoffensive whatsoever.
    Longevity is 3-4 hours.
Silage is soft, close to the skin.

  15. :

I got this completely wrong. Did not think it was aquatic or fruity at all but of course now the notes make sense. I tried this on and misinterpreted the raspberry as rose, freesia and citrus.
Now that I think of it, it is aquatic in a lovely watery flower way, nice and fresh, with elegant woods. Reminds me of eclat d’arpege, in fact I would happily wear one or the other. Pretty and elegant, think this is designed for the asian market to be honest.
Very nice, decent sillage & longevity. Thumbs up from me.

  16. :

    3 out of 5

This one is very fruity but still quite nice (I’m not a huge fan of fruity perfumes). For some reason it has no longevity on me however. After just one hour or two I can barely smell it even if I put my nose right up to my skin. So I wouldn’t buy this one again. I will use up my 50 ml bottle however.

  17. :

    3 out of 5

Very fruity with a bit of flowers. Almost like a raspberry jam. It’s hard to tell if it’s good or bad for a perfume. For sure it is quite natural type of scent. I like it, but I wonder if I’d like to smell so linear, like a basket of freshly picked, wild raspberries.

  18. :

    4 out of 5

Received as a gift, nice and easy to wear scent. Not a typicaI “purple scent” as I usually match the colour purple with some mistery. Had the original Jeanne version as well, but all in all I preferred this as I could detect a bit more spicy undertone on me. The raspberry is a bit too heavy right after sraying but it dries down nicely, but still I miss something from it to be perfect. I don’t dislike it, but I wouldn’t buy it again.

  19. :

I am really bad at describing smells, but I had to review this. I strongly prefer gourmand fragrances, oriental floral that are really sweet, like Euphoria or Gucci Guilty. This fragrance is nothing like that, is really different but now I like it. I would say that I mostly smell flowers and some aquatic scent. The dry down is woodsy and kind of “green”. On my skin this reminds me of Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue, but with more flowers. The smell is sweet and fresh at the same time but is not as sweet as a gourmand and it has not vanilla/ambar smell. It’s really femenine and I would recommend this to be worn on the day time. It has a good staying power and great sillage. I have smelled things like this before but is not the most common fragrance in the world so people will notice you and remember you for this.

  20. :

    4 out of 5

smelling directly from the nozzle, i immidately think of how similar this smells like Amethyst Lalique, and later and to a lesser degree Midnight Rose. The reason is of course berry.
Upon application, difference can be told about these three fragrance. Lalique is dry and powderly. It is like an expensive new blackcurrant soap bar. Mid-night Rose is very juicy fruity. The berry is so juicy there that it is also sticky. In both Lalique and Mid night Rose, i feel berry note dominates throughtout.
In Jeanne Couture, berry is not dominates, it is a berry encroached by some bitterness and there is some cool undercurrent. It is like a strong character under the guise of an ordinary, pleasant and easy going girl.
In cooler day, berry in Jeanne Couture would be more noticeable and sweeter.

  21. :

    3 out of 5

At first spray, I smelled grapefruit and roses. Strangely neither of these scents are listed as notes in this perfume. Jeanne Couture smells like grapefruit and Stella by Stella McCartney. Eventually the bitter citrus goes away and the beautiful rose and musk remains.

  22. :

    3 out of 5

I wanted to give this time before I review it. I think this perfume is either love or hate. For me is hate.
I hate how there’s only violet leaf and raspberry. It’s artificially sweet & bitter in same time! I feel like there is a beautiful scent hiding between these two extremes, and they wont let it develope!! 🙁

  23. :

    5 out of 5

i bought this by accident, because it was marked down and i got excited and didn’t see the “couture” on the box. anyway, the good news for me is that jeanne couture is really nice.
at first spray, it smells like lancome midnight rose with a smidge of pine, but the dry down reminds me more of body shop dewberry. i swapped my midnight rose because it gave me a headache even though i loved the scent, so this is a win for me because i get midnight rose without the hangover.

  24. :

    5 out of 5

I tested this and Lanvin ME. They seem very similar to each other. I don’t know why. Maybe it is because they both don’t work on my skin.

  25. :

    3 out of 5

For the first step ,you feel a little bitter and even unpleasant note, maybe because of the violet leaves on the top notes. But it’s better not to judge it too soon because After 15 minutes it gets so good. I think it’s a little masculine .It has a dark mystery side that I love this part , it’s different , special , and a very good occasion for the fall season. It lasts perfect especially when uses on the clothes.

  26. :

Terrible,no actual note, but there was only powder, not perfume but like talc in the air.

  27. :

I’m not a fan of the berry notes in this fragrance and i do not think it smells like Midnight rose either.

  28. :

I love this perfume so much. I wear this perfume everyday. Even when i go to sleep, i also wear this perfume. Love the smell so much. It smells like raspberry in the pines forrest. Sweet but misterious. I bought 3 bottles 100 ml this year and also 3 mini perfumes of this Jeanne Couture.

  29. :

    4 out of 5

The beginning of jeanne and midnight rose is slightly similar but the drydown completely different. I sprayed them on each hand and lanvin remains light and fresh while m.rose becomes very sweet. I prefer this lanvin.

  30. :

    4 out of 5

This is a lovely scent full of berries and flowers. There is tenderness and a little bit of sweetness in this scent.

  31. :

    4 out of 5

This is the better than midnight rose though
I love this scent is really fresh blackcurrant smell, but best in the summer, not enjoying quite so much now its gone colder, managed to find this half price.
Would like to get Tresor Midnight Rose for winter as I think this smells best in colder weather but waiting in hope that I can get it on offer as its expensive

  32. :

    5 out of 5

This scent changes its nature according to the temperature. In the summer it’s a cool, refreshing berry lemonade (not bought in a shop, but home made from fresh gathered berries). Now, it’s autumn here, and this scent reminds me the scent of a cup of fresh made, hot raspberry- black currant (stems, leaves and berries) tea – warming, comforting, bringing back the memories of the sunny, careless summer days.
This is stronger than Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose (which I find too watery), deeper, darker. The more it dries down, the more pronounced the berry note is (I guess, the cedar reinforces those berry-flower notes). Fresh, crisp, deliciously sweet, innocently tempting (yes, this does exist!) and feminine. I’m sniffing my wrist all the time. 🙂

  33. :

    4 out of 5

Berries, a smattering of magnolia petals and a dash of violet leaves, all floating on a watery base. Fruity without being cloying sweet (with a mild bitter edge, even), floral without smelling like an air freshener and green without being glaringly so.
Midnight Rose? Nah, midnight rose is a very sweet raspberry floral scent. This one is much less sweetly fruity and loud.

  34. :

    3 out of 5

At first look I thought this was going to be like “Jeanne” (because of the bottle’s shape) but not at all. Generally, I don’t like raspberry as fragrance’s note. I tried Couture on my skin and at first, I did not like it much. It was OK, but not my scent.
However, an hour later (or two), I definitely started to enjoy it. My chemistry highlighted mostly the peony and musk, together with magnolia. Due to these last two, it reminds me to Escada-Magnetism.
I like the watery touch; it made the fragrance lighter on my skin.
    Couture was a nice surprise!

  35. :

    4 out of 5

i blind bought Couture because of its gorgeous bottle and reviews about this one and Lancome Midnight Rose which is pretty much my signature scent.
While I found it nothing really alike Lancome Midnight Rose, they share some common notes, like berry, musky and rose, but since Midnight Rose is my love and just smells way better, I can just tell the difference between these two right away
to be honest I tried to like couture, but was pretty disappointed. the scent kinda turned me off, because it had this green, watered down and almost bamboo like fresh note in it..it doesn’t have the wow factor Midnight Rose has on me..longevity is weaker as well..personally it was just off and I ended up getting rid of it.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

A nice soft berry and violet at top, not reminding me of tresor midnight rose other than a berry start…
Tresor m rose is sweeter stronger and has a lovely pepper note that couture lacks. I love midnight rose too but had to swap it cause I didnt find the right time to wear it.
This is in some ways more innocent for the first half, but has a
lovely mature woody base ! The cedar works beautifully on me
and the flower heart is a nice bridge between the berry top and woody base….
I have set it as my signature now for late spring.
Only complaint could be the name and colour of the bottle that is to me, ,somewhat misleading you…tmakes one think its a heavy evening scent…
To me this is a subtle day scent with a berry twist start.
    Well done. Lamvin !
Update…now been wearing it as signature for a while its heart and base resembles Gucci II more than anything else. It works very well as a signaturre – has almost everything fresh start , flowers, warmth, a sweetnes that is appropriate for the blend and a lovely woody base !

  37. :

    3 out of 5

I absolutely love this fragrance! I am a fruity-sweet perfume kinda gal and I wanted to wear something different. This is probably the first floral perfume that I like, I love the lavender note and it’s very relaxing! I love using it when I know I am going to have a long stressful day! The scent lasts a while on my skin!

  38. :

    5 out of 5

I was expecting something different, maybe more couture, this is a berry rich scent, I find it more interesting than the original Jeanne, maybe because it is sweeter, not as plain Jane either , I would add it is a pretty scent, very nice option for spring, sweet but not overly, delicate, not outstanding but I wouldn’t mind owning a 30 ml as the prices are overall very acceptable for a pleasant perfume.

  39. :

    3 out of 5

I love “Jeanne”, so I thought I would like “Jeanne Couture”.
    I was wrong.
It smells like grass on me, maybe its the violet that I don’t like that much.
The bottle is gorgeous, but the scent is so disappointing. 🙁

I want this perfumes. In my wist list. My friend give me free vial. First time I try it..I fall in love this perfumes. This perfumes like hyponese Lancome. Long lasting 4-6 hour. Good everyday use.

  41. :

    I Love this delicious perfume.
This fragrance is designed to become a new woman’s expression Lavin, more inreverent, more sedutive, but always ultra sophisticated.
Is a perfume stolen but note very well notes of violet and musk.
The bottle is very beautiful, even can be used as decoration piece for any woman in the room.
    I recommend.

  42. :

    4 out of 5

Fresh is the word I would use to describe this. The drydown is kind of softly woody/grassy. It’s nice but nothing we haven’t smelled a thousand times before to be honest. It doesn’t stand out to me and it won’t to most people I think. I’m a fan of perfumes that make more of a statement. But all in all, it’s an enjoyable, elegant scent suitable for daywear. It’s something you can wear to work for example and be sure that everyone around you will find it pleasant.

  43. :

    5 out of 5

It does smell of raspberries. That is to me by far the dominant note. The drydown gets quite creamy and to me more pleasant than the opening

  44. :

    5 out of 5

I love it!!! So tasty peonies and violent leaves

  45. :

    5 out of 5

This smells like a cheaper version of Tresor Midnight Rose and there is nothing really special about it, but I’m starting to love it anyway. It’s not strong, but it lasts all day on my skin. I don’t care if other people sense it or not – I can smell it all day and it’s a pretty cheerful fragrance. 🙂
The quality-price ratio is very good. I might buy another one after I finish this bottle.

  46. :

    5 out of 5

this reminds me a lot of tressor midnite rose, which I’d like if I was on my early 20´s, COUTURE it´s like the version of tressor midnite rose for grown ups but notthing old-lady about it.

  47. :

    5 out of 5

A softer Parisienne. I’m usually not into fruity florals, but this one has enough musk and woody notes to not be a “Barbie pink” scent. Nice!

  48. :

    5 out of 5

There is something intriguing in it, and also something I totally hate. Again, way too much magnolia, yuck, :((((( the flacon is too beautiful, I was really tempted to buy it and learn to like it, but thankfully asked my boyfriend whether he liked it or not and I’ve never heard a more definitive NO from him lol..

  49. :

    4 out of 5

I tried this one a few days ago twice.
I wanted to like it but I don’t. Not completely.
I’m quite fed up with all this “berries” as under-family of the fruit baskets. Fruits and candy must be the cheapest notes to be produced, hence the trend-setting. Lanvin Couture is all about astringent berry at the beginning and in that I agree that it seems like Tresor Midnight Rose. I like berries, but you come to a point when you don’t want anymore.
It seems to me that different kind of berries are thrown into perfumes to give a twist or acidic effect other than citrus. Is is as if all these berries are children of TBS Dewberry, the pioneer of berries and to my horror I discovered then living in UK that they have flavoured “water” and dishwashing liquid with that same flavour.
When it’s too much it kills the blend. My Idylle does contain raspberry, but it’s fine with me.
    Stop it, please.
Having this strong opening Couture is not a favourite for me, but I tried it anyway and after a while I quite liked it, especially the soft wood basenotes.
Definetely in the line of Tresor Midnight Rose but less intrusive and more lively.

  50. :

    5 out of 5

I love this! I could get it cheap too but I don’t know if I can finish all my bottles as it is. I still want it! It’s so fresh and crisp. All nice and juicy berry fragrance.
But where’s blackcurrant and lychee? They are the first things I smell in this perfume and they had been listed in the description they had in the store I tried it. In here they have neither and I am confused!
I can also smell raspberries but it’s not as much a raspberry scent as the original. Violet leaf comes out nice and subtle. Makes it a little bit more floral and defined than if it was just plain berries. I didn’t smell musk on my skin. Basically the scent stayed the same. It didn’t really live and change. Normally I would want that but in this one the top notes are the thing that attract me so I don’t mind. Very cheery and chic!

  51. :

I absolutely love this scent. Every time I where it, someone will stop me to ask what fragrance I have on. It’s very feminine and sexy.

  52. :

    4 out of 5

I tested it today and I’m disappointed : it smells something like blueberry or black currant and it’s too strong for me. I would have like to wear it because Jeanne – Lanvin are nice perfumes but I can’t.

  53. :

    3 out of 5

The cedar seems to save the day for this fragrance. It starts with a chemically fruity opening which is not appealing at all, and then the cedar accords chime in and create a unique, classy and somewhat refreshing scent. I smell violets as the dominating scent. It’s not particularly my cup of tea, but then again I’m an orientals girl.

  54. :

    4 out of 5

Fresh and elegant. Bought it today. Smelled great against my skin. Great lasting power too.

  55. :

    5 out of 5

I tested it today. It’s nice. But not for me. This is the kind of perfume I get crazy about for a week, and then cant stand a week later. It’s similar to the escada fragrances. I do like it though, its bright and fruity. Would recommend to young, hyper girls ages 15-20. Very good staying power.

  56. :

    3 out of 5

Not as bright , fresh than the original ” Jeanne” .
Nice, but a rather pointless flanker (again…)

  57. :

    4 out of 5

Another trendy berry bomb, a sister of Lalique Amethyst / Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose. Jeanne Couture is less sweet and juicy than Midnight Rose so it is closer to the Lalique fragrance. In the dry down it begins to remind the regular Jeanne Lanvin.

  58. :

    5 out of 5

It is juicy, fruity but in a quite sophisticated way. So much raspberry on me, but it is a little bit ladylike, creamy and not sweet-fruity-gourmand. Nice, because it is yummy, but you don’t smell like a picnic basket full of fruits.

  59. :

    5 out of 5

I tested it today, for me Couture is fresh, fruity and on my skin quite similar to Lancome`s Midnight rose but less sweet. I think it will be a good choice for summer. The lasting power is decent.
