Jasmin Tabac (tested from oil dabber)
It opens with a bright, harsh lemon cleaner scent. The citrus lingers around for too long for my liking, but the tobacco finally shows up. It is a great tobacco aroma with a touch of lemon underneath. The tobacco builds up and becomes a delicious pipe tobacco scent. The jasmine is sweet and naturally green, the jasmine is underneath the tobacco. It is a delicious pairing of notes! The soft warmth comes from the Ambergris, it is simply translucent! I also get a touch of vanilla with some sandalwood on my skin but Jasmin Tabac is all about the tobacco scent with the jasmine as the backdrop.
I bought Jasmine Tabac, Olibanum, Imogen and got a free sample of Siberian Fir. Evocative Perfumes is a fantastic fragrance line that people need to know more about!
GRALAL – :
In the past week or so, I’ve been in an Audrey Hepburn mood. My eyeliner is winged, my clothes are black and elegant, there’s a string of pearls around my neck, along with my (generously gifted) sample of Jasmin Tabac. And I can honestly say it fits into the picture perfectly.
This is the one I’ve been the most excited to try out of all the Evocative Perfumes and the first one I’ve gotten to know.
And, oh my, it’s so good. The opening is sort of sharp but it soon fades into tobacco. But this is definitely pipe tobacco, it in no way resembles the smell of smokers and their cigarettes.
The jasmine dances around the tobacco, it never becomes the most prominent note. The sandalwood makes the whole composition velvety and airy. My skin also emits an odd fig note (possible love child of citruses and ambergris? I don’t know) which makes the scent very interesting.
The drydown is creamy citrus for me, but there’s always the hint of that sweet tobacco that I fell in love with.
The longevity is quite good, but I wish the sillage was heavier. I wish I could share this beauty with everyone, not just the person sitting next to me.
I cannot emphasize enough how elegant this is. It does have a masculine vibe to it, but I don’t see it on a man. The person I see it on is Holly Golightly and all of us Holly Golightly-wannabees.
