Wearing this right now. Picked up a sample at Nordy. I’m 6 feet tall, beard, brown hair, moderately masculine guy and I love this! The description on LL’s website talks about amplifying femininity, but to me, this is firmly in unisex territory. This smells EXACTLY like the pot of jasmine green tea you get at Chinese restaurants. I’ve tried other jasmine scents (e.g., Gendarme) and found it to be too distracting, but the jasmine in this is ramped way down, which I think is what makes it so successful. If it weren’t so damned expensive I’d scoop at least a 1.7 oz right away. I think the biggest competition in my mind is Atelier’s Oolang Infini. Not that they’re super similar, but they are both extremely pleasing tea scents that really give me that, “this is exactly what I want to smell like” feeling. Oolang is way cheaper though, so that might tip the scales. Not sure where all the comparisons to orange cleaner are coming from. I get a perfectly equitable jasmine/neroli mix on top of a bitter green tea accord with a slightly sweet (vaillic to some people, more brown sugar to me) backstop. This is a definite winner in my book.

Fresh, mininalistic, not sweet, unisex, lasting and pleasant

You’re visiting the city dog pound, and you forget to bring a clothespin for your nose. You decide to carry on and suffer through it, finding the perfect (smelly) dog. When you get back to the car with your new malodorous family member, you crumble. You can’t take it any longer and you need to neutralize the smell somehow. You start digging through your purse and your glovebox and you magically discover a bottle of Neroli 36 by Le Labo. Alright, so, in this moment, you think it’s a good idea, but let’s be frank: you’re not thinking clearly. You spray it anyways, and neither you nor your doggie makes it home in one piece. Jasmin 17 by Le Labo.

I wanted to love this perfume because I typically love the aroma of Jasmine but this did not do it for me.
On me it almost came off like a urinal cake— not something I look forward to smelling like on the daily (someone mentioned cleaning products and I tend to agree).
It is a soft scent though and perhaps on the right body could smell wonderfully light and warm.

A pleasant jasmine opening fades on my skin in less than a minute to be replaced by a soapy and rather harsh dusty orange blossom and sandalwood blend. Much in keeping with other Le Labo offerings, Jasmin 17 taunts the wearer with something that promises but then withholds loveliness.
    Pass.

Very interesting notes mix but unfortunately it doesn’t work on me; jasmine and musk scents ( l am not a good fan of both) which seem so subtle in this perfume are enhanced when dry down on my skin.

I usually don’t gravitate to jasmine as a note, however I love this fragrance. That’s probably because there is, contrary to what the name of the perfume implies, very little jasmine. It is there, but it plays second fiddle to orange blossom. It is balmy and beautiful, but not a huge game changer in the floral category of fragrances. Performance is subpar – i spray 6 sprays and it projects maybe 2 hours with the sillage next to nil. It reminds me of Elie Saab perfume intense and Christian Dior’s Grand Bal, both of which perform considerably better. I appreciate all of the le Labo fragrances and this one is one of the more wearable scents in the line. Glad I bought a bottle.

It is only me or it smells similar like Neroli Portofino Tom Ford?
Its nice and fresh it can be beautiful summer fragrance
    Orange and jasmin
It smells like mix of ambrette 9 with portifino TM and sprits of light blue DG

I love the jasmine and litsea cubeba in the top notes. I don’t smell the musk. I faintly pick up vanilla. However, the sandalwood throws the scent off. It’s a salty sandalwood and it’s strong for 15-20 minutes. Orange blossom and jasmine settle on the skin after awhile but I don’t pick up the bitter orange much. It’s not bad at all once that salt fades away. Would be nice for spring and summer but I think someone could wear it year round. Palmorosa… I don’t detect it.

It smells very soapy and fresh, but not in a good way. I love jasmine in perfumes (especially in Alien or Jasmin Rouge), but this is not for me.

This smells like Jasmin and Fruity Pebbles cereal.
    Therefore, I love it.

The first time I sniffed this perfume was a mix of surprise and astonishment. I just thought ¿..? Rational as I am, I was speccing a light jasmine, but after the surprise abandoned me, I let my nose guide me, and is just pure emotion.
The opening is soft, a creamy, light and extremely elegant citrus welcoming you. Not the sharp smell of freshly cut fruit, but the aura left behind when you cut down the fruit from the trees. Neroli, litsea cubea and orange taking you in a trip of joyfulness and happiness.
As is meant to be, the opening is just the beginning of the trip, and is not about the trip, but all about the destination. The most ethereal skin-like aromas will start to dance, calling your name asking you to sniff over, and over again. The heavy, hard to handle aspects of the jasmine had been removed, restructuring the formula to a new level of floweriness. A warm vanilla in the background will make this perfume very comforting, and yet not sweet.
Just the right amount of everything.

Jasmine 17 is the third in my quest for a jasmine that works for me. Unfortunately this isn’t it. The sandalwood finishes me off. I seem to have a hyper-alertness to sandalwood. It can write off a fragrance for me very quickly.

I’m gonna be honest here: I’m very underwhelmed by Jasmin 17. This not a fragrance for true jasmine lovers. The name is very misleading as I detect the orange blossom to be the main note. Not sure about which species of jasmine they use here but this is not jasmin sambac and definitely doesn’t have that “oomph” lushness very typical of jasmine flower. What’s lacking here is not just indoles but also that sweet heady smell of blooming jasmine which you can find in a lot of designer scents, for example Estee Lauder Modern Muse.
The opening is a sharp citrus flower scent, very pungent with a strong bigarde characteristic, akin to JHAG Gentlwoman. As time goes by more musk emerges. The palmarosa is detectable throughout the dry down, but regardless this is a pretty linear scent. Base notes negligible. Projection is quite nice (~ 2 feet with one tiny spray on hand) and longevity is about 7 hours. It’s definitely a clean scent since they take away the indoles, and “fresh” per se as how citruses smell fresh.
A very nicely done citrus floral scent, but don’t bother to try it if you’re looking for true jasmine like in Serge Lutens A La Nuit or Diptyque Olene. You won’t find it here.

The white flowers in the opening is AAAMAZING, but fades away rather quickly into a soft vanillic woody musk with a touch of orange.

This is a sweet, musky, jasmine/orange blossom perfume with very little projection. It lasts a good 6+ hours, but I can only smell it when I put my nose right up to my skin. It’s clean and very natural, perfect for summer when jasmine and orange flowers are in full bloom. The muskiness reminds me a bit of Light Blue though, so I personally wouldn’t pay the high price for this particular fragrance. I love Le Labo, but this is not my favorite.

Very true, lovely jasmine topnote, then the jasmine gets a bit overwhelmed by all the orange and neroli notes in the midphase. But in the drydown the jasmine peeks out again and the fragrance shows itself to be subtle, complete, balanced, and true to the jasmine flower. Very nice job, Le Labo.

It smells like orange blossom first
    and the Jasmin follows.
I can tell it is very lovely
but I think on me Jasmin doesnt work.
    To sharp and sweet.

Very lovely white floral, but it doesn’t smell much of jasmine. It’s more of an orange blossom and neroli scent, so the name is misleading. Sort of reminds me of a less sweet Hilde Soliani Conaffetto. Sometimes I find neroli too masculine and aftershave-like, but Jasmin 17 is more on the feminine side. Very beautiful :o)
UPDATE: After an hour, the orange blossom and neroli start to soften enough for me to detect the jasmine.
EDIT: I no longer wear this because of all the “what smells like kitchen cleaner?” comments I was getting at work. I don’t like being told I smell like Chlorox orange scented wipes :o/ I love this scent, so it’s unfortunate that it draws these types of comments.

On me this is the most elegant, expensive smelling, light, airy jasmine imaginable. Intoxicating.
I sense jasmin, aldehydes and after quite a while a soft wood/vanilla base.
Makes me feel like a true lady.

jasmine plus I feel something about lemon, citrus notes.
    but i think is sandalwood(???)
A crispy jasmine near orange flower
    not interesting for me

I’ve decided to change my original review done in December as it just wasn’t the right time of year to try this. It’s now the end of May on a hot summery day where there is just a slight breeze and it feels perfectly suited.
The opening white floral notes are quite sweet not as in gourmand but as another reviewer pointed out this may be as a result of the vanilla. I also detect a slight fizzy aspect just gently coming in adding to the lightness and overall modern feel. Orange Flower is definitely the more prominent with Jasmine tucked neatly in behind.
The picture painted is one of simplicity but beautifully done with a light and airy feel this is just perfect for summer days. I’m also picking up some delicate barely there citrus.
Upon dry down it becomes softer with a slightly powdery feel the musk just stays friendly very much in the background.
Overall this perfume is delightfully appealing as I suspected it might be not sure it has enough staying power though for a full bottle at Le Labo prices!

All I can smell is the Neroli and Vanilla. Maybe Jasmin 17 is the Invisible and the Anosmiac Jasmin.

Boring. Doesn’t smell like Jasmine. Nice clean smell, but lasts about and hour if that. Bleh. Disappointed.

It’s an interesting scent for me. The smell of jasmine is deep inside. On me it’s kinda like “Yakult” plus green tea. Refreshing, gentle, and adorable.

Jasmin 17 has blown me away. The jasmin is initially strong and powerful but blends into the most gorgeous subtle fragrance that literally last all day. I don’t pick up too much of the neroli but I do love the jasmin veiled over sandalwood and musk in the basenotes. When I smelled the perfume in the sample bottle I thought I would need to layer it over some musk to remove the jasmin sharpness, but I’m so glad I didn’t, it’s perfect by itself. This is the first really ‘floral’ perfume that I will invest in.

What an incredibly beautiful fragrance! Fragrantica only lists 4 notes however there are 6 more according to the Le Labo website: Neroli, Orange Flower, Palma Rosa, Amber, Bigarde & Litsea Cubeba.
The orange flower/neroli, which is very apparent, adds a sparkling note which brings to mind lemonade admist the jasmine blooms in warm sunshine.
On my skin, the florals are predominent but there is a creamy sandalwood underneath.
Jasmin 17 is a fresh breath of springtime air. Just lovely.

Le Labo continues to amaze me with their beautiful simplicity and their workshop-based concepts. Jasmin 17, although not anything outstanding is polite, refined and smooth. Everything that a jasmine soliflore should be.
Sarrasins by Serge Lutens is still my favourite jasmine scent, however when Sarrasins is too dark and rich for Summer, that’s where Jasmin 17 comes in. This fragrance is a pretty concoction of light, transparent jasmine, a hint of orange blossom and milky vanilla.
Subtle and fresh, and in some ways innocent, Jasmin 17 is nothing loud or irritating, just delicate jasmine blooms resting softly on the skin. This fragrance is fairly linear, the only development being the appearance of the musk in the drydown.
Like I mentioned before, simplicity is what I admire from this fragrance house. Jasmin 17 goes to show that extreme measures don’t need to be taken in order to achieve something lovely and fresh.
The scent also feels rather natural on the skin. There’s a definite sweetness in Jasmin 17 that is most likely the result of the jasmine and vanilla blending together rather than a saccharine additive.
This fragrance lasts considerably well and the sillage is moderate, not too strong nor too soft. I highly recommend this fragrance to floral lovers and jasmine fanatics alike.
