ha ha .. this must be some joke..
even smell of water would last longer
    than this..
you ll ve to dig your nose deep into skin to sniff the fading scent just after few minutes..
    its really really weak..

It is a very delicate, sweet and soft scent but only lasted a few minutes on me.
*This was my first ever “perfume” purchase, when I got my very first paycheck. It has some sentimental value to it. =)

A clean, fresh, floral scent. It’s lovely but durability is very poor.

A sparkling fresh floral with a hint of sweetness, I love this one. Not long lasting but a lovely scent

Beautiful soft and powdery floral, ideal for everyday wear. Will continue to repurchase this, as it’s fresh, feminine and light. I get the Cherry Blossom and Magnolia at the start, and then it dries down to a lovely woody and powdery floral. To me, the powder note comes from the Wood notes, Osmanthus and Musk. It lasts a fair amount of time on me and is an example of a cheaper perfume which smells like it’s way more expensive than it is!

Perfectly acceptable fresh sort of floral, doesn’t last long but it’s an ok spare to have in hand
No masculine aspects to it in the freshness. Perhaps another term is more appropriate, but I don’t know what that might be

A soft powdery smell. I don’t like it but I don’t hate it either. Just something in the middle. The smell turns sour after 2-3 hours. I don’t think TBS fragrance suits me. They are either too powdery which possibly turns to sour after few hours or too flowery, nothing complex.

First; a quick review of what I remember: A soft floral fragrance with cherry blossom notes. Not too sweet and fruity, more aquatic and fresh.
    Now…
… Today was the third time I tested this one and it seems like I’ve begun to like it more since I didn’t like it this much the first time. However, it’s important to remember that this could be caused by anything and nothing… By this, I simply mean that it is possible to get tired of something, especially a scent, but I assume most people know these things. Anyway, I feel strongly for the Red musk and that’s why I question myself; do I love/like this one as much as the other? Sometimes we like a certain thing, for example a fragrance, becauase of memories or because we associate it with specific personality traits that we have or with ourselves (we think that it fits us & is right for us). Sometimes we don’t only go for the scent itself but for the thoughts and feelings it brings to us.
What I’m trying to tell is that it’s hard to compare the Red musk with this one partially since they’re completly different and in some ways even opposite but also because I simply like them equaly but in different ways and for different reasons.
My conclusion after this long review (which could be considered off topic, sorry for that #notsorry) is that I really enjoyed this fragrance even though it could fit better as someone else’s signature scent. It’s well-composed, sufficient and just as innocent and filled with pure beauty as it could be. Gorgeous.

Powdery, soapy, floral, sweet and extremely pleasant. Wouldn’t bother anyone. I like to use it when I’m going shopping or for a walk in the park.

I like this perfume, though I’m normally not a huge fan of floral scents. As with all TBS perfumes though, I wish it lasted longer.

  11. :

My first perfume! I was in love with this scent at first spray that for years it was my signature scent. Cherry blossom is clearly the top note with light florals notes to complement the scent as it settles on the skin. Highly recommend to try at least once.

This is a nice light sweet inoffensive scent. I much prefer this over BBW’s version as the Ume or plum note in that one doesn’t really sit well on me. This scent doesn’t change much and reminds me of candy mixed with some baby powder. Longevity is quite decent, I can still smell it on my clothes after 4+ hrs. I reach for this when I want something simple and sweet for the day.

This is a nice pretty scent, clean and sweet. It ended up being uninteresting on me, though (too young for me) and ever so slightly artificial. I gave it to my 15-year-old daughter because she smiled at the first whiff of it. 🙂

This is a good scent..very “The Body Shop” like.
Its gentle and soothing.Something you’d love if the wind carried your way on a windy day.
I think it is best for younger girls, for its gentleness and maybe even older women for its simplicity.
It can be a good everyday scent for someone who changes perfume everyday.
Its nice and fresh.Honestly floral and vanilla like.Reminds me of walking in a Japanese cherry blossom tree yard with the wind blowing petals at my face.

  15. :

    5 out of 5

Like a cherry blossom in the wind: delicate and gone so fast!
I think this could be a nice everyday scent, especially for younger girls, because it has such an unoffending, innocent, dainty smell. Unfortunately, it is also rather bland. Reminds me of fabric softener and cleanness. On my skin, it develops a soft vanilla skin scent, especially in the back of the neck and in the hair, but the more fresh headnotes disappear so fast and I myself do not feel perfumed anymore after a short time.

  16. :

    My first perfume.
Dont think it smells like Japanese cherry blossoms cause I hardly smell anything from cherry blossoms trees when I was in Japan. (I had to leave before the full-blooming time some days so I thought there was so little flowers on trees for me to smell)
Still use it perfume sometimes, always nice & sweet & pleasant as the first time.

After around 3-4 times visit to TBS to smell this, I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t like the smell. Very woody floral. This smells very strong to me. I’ve never smelled cherry blossom in real life, but if it smells like so, I’m not very excited to smell it anymore.

  19. :

    5 out of 5

On the plus side, this is a decent representation of cherry blossom. I have a vase of cherry blossom on my desk at present, so can compare them drectly. It’s quite potent and long-lasting, and not too sweet.
On the minus side it’s pretty synthetic-smelling.
Pleasant enough, but I’m glad I didn’t blind-buy this one as I don’t want to use it again particularly.
This review is for the bottle pictured above – I was expecting the newer bottle, but as of March 2014 it isn’t in the UK shops.

  20. :

A MUCH better cherry blossom than the BBW creations! Juicier and sweeter and much stronger than BBW’s Cherry Blossom. BBW’s Cherry Blossom was my mama’s go to day scent for years so I’m going to give her this for Mother’s Day I think.
Note: This review is for the updated 2014 version of this scent. I believe the bottle is pictured in the “reminds me of” section.

I really love this and I consider it as my go-to perfume (or my signature perfume since I’ve wear it from the 1st day it was launched by The Body Shop)
I didn’t know how cherry blossom supposed to smell like but the “Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT” smells fruity-floral, fresh and couple of guys told me that the scent was somehow arousing (ha-ha!)
I wear it day and night, at work or when I go to party. The longevity is awesome! It last 5 – 6 hours on me..and it lasts even longer on my clothes.
I would recommend anyone to buy it since this EDT is less expensive than those High-End perfumes (about US$23)

Maybe plastic cherry blossoms would smell like this?
🙁 it’s so delicate and plastic – it just smells blah to me. A very forgettable, so-what fragrance.

oH I am so in love with this innocent treat..
This smells creamy, perfumery & alluring in a clean/fresh way
    Best of the body shop.

A light, fresh, spring-time floral fragrance with not much staying power on me, unfortunately. It’s nice and I enjoy it, but it is rather simple scent-wise. Perhaps TBS has improved it’s cherry blossom scent with its new ‘world scent’ line currently out.

  27. :

    Boring and ordinary

  28. :

    4 out of 5

Surprisingly long lasting on my skin (and this is a revelation to me as my skin DEVOURS fragrance.)
I had one spray on my arm and in the morning it was still a skin scent. Props to Body Shop for longevity!
Actual smell: mostly sweet floral, some fruit (must be the apples breaking through). One of the reviews mentioned that it smelled like watermelon candy to her – it’s totally true. If you think “watermelon candy”, you’ll get it. If you think “sweet florals”, you’ll also get it. No strong pungent smells (unlike tuberose for instance; magnolia is a very smooth floral).
Beautiful scent that’s suitable for day or night.
Sillage is moderate, about 2 feet for 2 sprays for about 3 hours, then quiets down to about 6 inches for the next 2 hours, then skin scent for 2 hours before it disappears (that’s actually not entirely true. After the 7 hours or so that you can distinctly smell it, it just makes your skin smell sweet. Nice for if you want to go to bed and wake up in the morning and pretend your skin naturally smells sweet lol).

very nice smell, light n fresh.. not like cherry blossom smell actually 🙂 this was my first body shop’s perfume. we can use freely at day or night specially at day with high temperature this was very freshly.. not too long lasting it’s only 4-6 hours last on my skin but not bad.. just love it.. ^^

  30. :

    4 out of 5

This is one of my first few perfumes and is still one of my favorites. As I am Japanese, cherry blossoms hold a special place in my heart along with this perfume. Not sure if this smells like cherry blossoms though. lol
It has sweetness of fruits mixed with cherry blossoms and musk undertone. It’s not sickly sweet but it’s also not like the very fresh fruity florals like Marc Jacobs eau so fresh. I love the balance.
I find that theres a mild, dreamy quality to this. Perhaps my memories with this perfume has some influence but this scent is just like first love and spring. Innocent, soft and romantic but the musk gives it a bit of sensuality too.

  31. :

Boring generic floral, very light, does not last even I layered with perfume oil.

  32. :

    4 out of 5

in my opinion a bit blend.
i expected more of it. still it’s a nice fragance to wear everyday. fresh and floral definitely one of those scents that everyone likes, so a nice gift.

at first i got the miniture bottle 10 ml for my birthday. i really like the smell. afterwards since i like it i decided to go and buy the bigger bottle 50 ml. i always spray perfume on my clothes and skin. after several hours, it start to smell kinda weird like a stinking armpit or something?? although i didn’t sweat at all! maybe that was the result of the oxidation process i guess..anyhow, i still like the scent and very pleasing to my nose too. i do sense some sophistication in the perfume. more suitable for younger adults. the longevity is weak. now my bottle is almost running empty and i’m not sure whether i’ll but it again or not…

  34. :

I love the fresh, innocent feel of TBS’s Japanese Cherry Blossom. My friend bought a bottle for herself and I loved it, but have yet to buy my own. The main thing holding me back is that the fragrance doesn’t linger very long being a simple EDT, and because of this I feel that the price is a little high (around $30 for a bottle, if I recall correctly). However, I do think this would be a good coming-of-age type gift for a girl hitting an important birthday, as a nice introduction to pretty, dainty things. On the whole it’s a lovely fragrance that I would love to have in my collection one day.

This perfume was my first from TBS. I am a fan of flowery perfume. I love the smell but I wish it can last little bit longer…

Yesterday I received the whole collection (shower gel +body spray+ body butter + EDT) as a gift.
In general I am not a fan of cherry, but I like its blossoms .. Very tender creamy type of perfumes, with a very sheer lasting power and sillage.
I used the whole set yesterday, and I couldn’t even smell my self 🙁 very weak !
I wish if it last longer ..
I agree, somehow it’s similar to (Dreams Unlimited)
Finally, the most worthy thing in the whole set is the (Body Butter) soft, delicious, delight and not sticky.

  39. :

I have this in perfume oil form (circular bottle with white lid). To those who love the perfume but have longevity problems with the EDT, get the perfume oil. It lasts much longer.
As for the perfume oil itself: it’s a very inoffensive yet not altogether bland. Sort of like Body Shop’s Dreams perfume without the boringness! It’s still not unique and good enough for me to ‘love’ it, so it’s just ‘like’. Very clean and floral.

I especially love this perfume because a very good friend of mine gifted to me. Anytime I sprayed it on my skin, I remembered her. Though, I am more for heavy, strong and particular perfumes. This mainly cherry blossom composition is a very light and nice scent.
Nothing really particular, but it smells “nice”. You certainly won’t have any headache because of it or cause one to others.
On my skin the longevity was not very lasting. Strangely though, as on the contrary the body milk was very long lasting.
If you are looking for something romantic, fresh, light and young, that’s definitely a good buy.

Very light fresh summer scent. Sweet, but not too much, so it sets you in a mood of relaxation.
I got a lot of compiments wearing this, simply because the smell makes me look happy.

  44. :

    5 out of 5

This is a nice and subtle scent.
I can´t see myself wearing it though I prefer oriental-woody fragrances but for all who love light and airy fragrances with berries and fruits this must be pure heaven in a bottle.

  45. :

    3 out of 5

I own the body mist for this one and it’s really an easy to wear scent if you like florals, which I do. It starts of as a slightly sharp floral on me (even though it’s the body mist I’m using) but soon dries down to become just a really beautiful floral perfume. Like the review below – it’s a very “clean smelling” fragrance which is great for the hot summer we’re having these days! Only downside to this is that it doesn’t last very long on me and I usually keep re-applying it every 2-3 hrs, unlike Neroli Jasmin which I own from the Body Shop, even though is a body mist as well its longevity is outstanding and only disappears after a shower. Still this one is worth buying given the price and the lovely fresh and flowery smell for the summer.

  46. :

    4 out of 5

I used to have this and thought it smelled really pretty and well-balanced: fresh, floral, a bit fruity and slightly musky. I found it a good “go to” scent for every day wear.I also really liked the simple, pretty design of the bottle.
After a year or two, though, it started to smell cheaper and more synthetic to me. I’ve noticed this with a lot of the Body Shop spray perfumes. I find their perfume oils to stand the test of time better.

  47. :

    3 out of 5

This probably my most `go to` scent for days when I don`t know what to wear. There are only a few perfumes that I have finished off the bottle (Tommy Girl, Pleasures, Miracle Lancome, Azuree Soleil, Kenzo Summer, Inspiration & Pour Femme Lacoste are the only ones I can think of) or repurchased & this is one of them, whether it be the body mist (cheaper) or the eau de toilette. Its slightly sweet, peachy?, dusty (I know that sounds mad, but it stops it from being too sweet) with a woody, powdery drydown. I personally think it smells best on hot summer skin, but maybe thats just me! I dont know what I like about it but I keep coming back to it & am never without it in some form. It probably not the most sophisticated of scents for some but I like it the best of all TBS fragrances.

  48. :

Although this is called Cherry Blossom; magnolia is the flower that my nose picks up the most. Followed by a faint apple note and a coconut note that is not listed?!
I don’t know what Hinoki wood smells like, so perhaps I mistake that note for coconut? Anyway, it’s not my favorite Body Shop scent, but it is not unpleasant by far! It’s a light and soft scent, reminiscent of a breeze that brings with it the faint smell of magnolia. Very spring/summer like.
Something I’d wear at home or after a shower before bed, since I got the EdT and matching body-butter as a gift, I want to use it but it’s too ‘soapy’ for my taste to be an outdoor scent.
Silage is: “magnolia dipped in ‘coconuts'” — Longevity is 5-6+ hours.

I love the scent-oil for home of this fragrance..do they call them diffusers? It´s just so cute and softly, tenderly sexy.. On me it works well as the Shy need for love and care-´´gap-filler´´:)
I also bought the eau de toilette, but it has the alcohol-cloud for a bit too long after each spray, so.. If I stay at home enough to fulfill my needs for this scent with the home-oil, I prefer that.
Sadly it´s out of production(I guess, because I can´t find it anywhere at The Body Shop stores), this oil..but it´s worth mentioning!!

number 1,my fav perfume :)my ex boyf gave this to me.i really really love this.it’s not because my bf gave it to me :p it works good on spring&summer.maybe it will smell a lil bit sweet in winter.or somewhere cold.for me the smell are amazing.
the scent:at first you can smell the cherry blossom& peach.it’s sweet not candy sweet.but kinda floral peachy sweet.i think i find vanilla scent in it.then it soft down.the smell still sweet, but it comes with woody and musky scent.
    longlasting:12 hours.great on me.

I recommend this scent especially to people who dislike perfumes or perfumey scents or for young girls who are starting to wear perfume.
It’s a very nice soft floral scent, neither like the flower smell in the nature, nor like flowers in expensive perfumes. But mostly the scents reminds me of a flower-fruit-scented beauty product.
It wouldn’t offend anyone, it just smells clean, fresh out of a shower and after applying nice smelling bodylotion.

After doing some comparisons on light fragrances with cherry blossom (l ‘occitane included), I found out that apparently TBS’s Japanese Cherry Blossom lasts the longest on my skin (+/- 6hr in air-conditioned environment, tropical area)- despite of very many complains here about longevity.
It’s pretty strong in the beginning, before drying into a very nice, sweet-yet-subtle floral with some hints of fruity notes.
I like this fragrance. It’s light, cute, and suitable for daily use.

I am not fan of fruity scents and I have never purchased a perfume by The Body Shop. On contrary, I do love and use most of their products, especially the body lotions, scrubs etc. I bought this body lotion a year ago, in the middle of the spring. The smell captivated me – and bear in mind that I did not expect this to happen.
It’s a clean, pure and fresh smell that reminds me of springtime and it cheers me up. Cherry blossom in it’s best, perfect for the daytime and for everyday use. I will definetely buy it again 🙂

I was surprised that I liked this much more than their Lychee Blossom scent. This is a finer, more exquisite floral than the quiet Lychee Blossom. It very much smells like cherry blossoms and is one of the best cherry blossom scents I’ve smelled to date, beating out versions I’ve tried from L’Occitane, Bath & Body Works, and even the Guerlain perfume I used to have (which was the worst of the four!). This is more floral and less fruity, not sweet in a sugary way, and all around a very decent interpretation of the actual flower, which I have the pleasure of smelling every single year when it blooms in the spring.

My younger sister, 11, loves it, no one else around the house likes it!.. It has some funny thing about that, it smells just like shampoo still no one likes it… I think it’s ok for girlie girls, mainly younger and looking for slightly sweet scent. And it really matches her style. Right now that’s her favourite from Body Shop.

  59. :

clean in a lipstickish kind of way. I own the body spray that hasn’t the same strenght of eau de parfum so I can’t compare the longivity & sillage. It’s light hearted, floral, clean & sweet but not candy sweet like others had already mentioned.

  60. :

    3 out of 5

I really like this perfume. Sweet, but still floral, instead of candy sweet. May seem strong at first, but that passes, and a nice, floral and not overpowering scent remains. Quite nice, though I do wish that it lasted longer.

This seemed extremely fruity to me,and quite sweet. I could smell almost no cherry blossom at all. It dries down to a nice musky base, but I expected something more floral. I also thought I detected a tea note in the beginning, but it’s not listed.

I only had the body spray, but I thought this was perfectly pleasant, if a little less forceful/daring than my usual favourite scents.
It does actually smell a bit like sakura blossoms, too (Albeit much stronger and heavily sweetened in comparison) .

  68. :

    4 out of 5

It’s a soft, good and feminine perfume, that’s right. but my review is especially for people who easily get bored perfumes after using it some time. if you like fresh and even sour-sweet perfumes, it may not be one of your favorites because only the sweeter aspects of the perfume stays after a few hours. I tried it almost five times before buying, and I was nearly sure that I won’t get bored from it after using for a few months, so I bought 2 bottles of it and I regret now. I still love the smell, but now I can smell only the sweet parts of it and I started to think that it’s overpowering for me. Although it is floral in context, if you have a sensitive nose, you may differenciate the sweetness and if you don’t like sweetness, that would be a problem as I experienced.
However, if you think about buying, of course give a try 🙂 But if you have a similar taste with me, tbs dreams unlimited, litchi blossom, or aqua lily would be a better choice for you.

I bought this perfume a year ago. I chose to buy this after smelling few other Body shop perfumes. It’s strange but initially I liked this perfume. After using it for 2-3months, I couldn’t stand its smell. Yes, its floral, fruity and a blend of several fragrances. However, its top notes are strong. After applying a few spritzes, its smell overpowers and goes to the head. It settles down after 20-30mins and then the scent gets beautiful. But, I still use this perfume once in a while, not daily.

This fragrance has tasty, sweet notes. Definitely a romantic spring scent. I have had this for a while now but I haven’t smelled peach and red apple. Trees and flowers are strong in this one. I love it. I think this scent has a happy spirit! I’m not an expert of fragrances so this is all I can say :D.

  73. :

Lovely scent, but poor lasting power. Doesn’t seem to stay on me no matter how much I spray on. I find it light and refreshing, but I get overwhelmed with it’s candy watermelon notes. Maybe it’s the peach and apple mixing, but quite a bit it smells like a watermelon jolly-rancher candy to me. I don’t find it overly sweet though which is nice. Fun little spray, would suit younger females.

I loved it the first time I tried it, and so did most of my friends. But I haven’t worn it for a long time now and I’m afraid it’s getting stale in the closet. I have so many perfume to choose from and this did not stand out at all even amongst my floral scents. So I had to investigate why I lost interest into something I used to love, I have it with me right now. So I kept smelling it, now I realize, I feel nauseated.

i loved the perfume for its top note and middle note…but does the base note contain musk? i dont really like its base note..

Sweet and romantic. Perfect for everyday use. Much better than the other TBS fragrances.

Casual, fresh and clean, ‘out of the shower’ scent. It smells like floral fruity (I get cherry blossom and peach with apple) but it also has something creamy about it. There is this underlying creamy base, by ‘creamy’ I mean the scent of a classic cream, like blue Nivea for example. Yes, the base is quite musky but musk smells nice on me. I also have the body butter and the scent is true to the EDT. The EDT on its own doesnt last long but still is nice for summer or casual days.

    spray…
    wait for it to dry…
    sniff…
    not impressive.
on me it smells like any other light fruity floral fragrances that is so ubiquitous nowadays. it is light, girly and slightly sweet. the dry down smells of rather heavy artificial musk. it doesnt last very long too

It smells sweet and youthful, just like me lol. I got some spray at the department store near my college and consider saving some bucks to buy it on holiday 🙂

This scent is sweet, fresh and clean on my skin after the initial floral buzz. I layer it with the body butter (which smells true to the EDT) and I enjoy it all day long. Nice price, nice business ethics from TBS.

A blend of delicate and pretty floral elements overpowered by too much sandalwood. This one doesn’t work on me at all. Starts just as everyone here is describing, lovely, fresh, feminine, then the sandalwood comes stomping in and crushes all the pale beauty. No thanks.

Recieved this one in a giftset as a present a week ago & I like it very much.
It’s so girly& cheerful. Not something I’d buy for myself though, since TBS stuff are relatively expensive where I live so I’d rather buy other brands whose perfumes last.
This one stays 2-3 hours.. I wish it could stay a bit more. I enjoy the way it smells

A sweet, light girly scent. Perfect for summer and spring. Like most of The Body Shop’s fragnrances, it’s very natural, and smells different on every skin. Very lovely:)

so much blush. but clean too. ı prefer loccitane’s cherry blossom. but it is enough for office.

On me it smells like candle wax! It smells great on everyone I know but they all agree it isn’t for me.

Sometimes, you have to dare to see if a fragrance suits you or not, and that is exactly what I did with “Japanese Cherry Blossom Eau de Toilette” by “The Body Shop”, as I bought it without smelling it!
Every time I wear & smell a perfume including sandalwood scent, I am disappointed and thinking it’s definitively not for me, but, thanks God, with “Japanese Cherry Blossom Eau de Toilette” I was wrong.
It is fresh & it is lovely, and further, I can describe it as a fragrance that brings “Spring Times” to my mind. Elegant, soft, very “bloomish”, the scent notes used in its creation make this fragrance a very well balanced one.
The simplicity & purity of its bottle make “Japanese Cherry Blossom Eau de Toilette” even more beautiful to my eyes.
Excellent work done by The Body Shop!

great spring perfume. the only bad thing about it is the staying power – not very long lasting…although, it is longer lasting than the other body shop perfumes.

I just bought this yesterday w/ the japanese cherry blossom puree body lotion. I’m not a huge fan of floral fragrances but this one caught me immediately. The dry down is light, airy and sweet to my skin.

I was waiting for this premiere for many months- it came out in US before it appeared on the Shelves in Europe.
The fragrance itself is not very complicated, but its simplicity is charming in a way. It is nice, delicate, subtle scent full of positive energy. Magnolia and woody notes add some character to this one, while peach and apple add some sweetness. They balance each other perfectly. I am generaly not into floral fragrances, but this one is definitely worth a try. It is difficult to find something more interesting in this price range.

I sniffed this during my latest visit to TBS and found the fragrance quite original, fresh and sophisticated. It’s exotic in a nice and subtle way, makes you think of all the lovely things that come along with spring and summertime 🙂
