Do not quickly judge this by the initial spray. It smells cheap. But wait After 30 minutes it will smell really good.
My gf’s nose loves popular colognes like dior sauvage, jpg ultra male, etc.
    But she loves this cheapo.

I’m very surprised by how much I like and have already worn this fragrance. I have a collection of about 50 fragrances so far and am spoilt for choice but ever since I purchased this over a week ago I have worn it several times casually and to work. It just has this easy wearability to it that seems to fit most situations, especially here in Spring. I picked it up for $25 AUD upon hearing about it from a friend (who had been told by a sales assistant that it was a very good cheapie) so I decided to read the reviews on Fragrantica to see if it was worth the purchase. It’s definitely one of the better cheapies I have ever bought and I really like the smell coming off my skin.
As for the comparison to Dunhill Desire I can definitely see where people get that from. I own that one too and do like it but if I had to choose I would choose Jaguar Classic Gold over it 9/10 times. It’s just a fuller and better blended scent, has a classier feel to it and it doesn’t smell as synthetic as Dunhill Desire. I’ve tried layering them and Classic Gold shines through much more which shows it’s quality over Desire Red.
On my skin I get a strong honey smell in the dry down. This may be the vanilla and resins other reviewers have talked about, but to my nose and off my skin it smells exactly like honey, which I love. In the short time I’ve been wearing this it has garnered me more compliments than my more expensive and recognised fragrances. It just has that warm, welcoming and inoffensive scent, similar to Hugo Boss Bottled.
Performance is pretty good too for a cheapie. I don’t get the 8+ hours a lot of others are claiming but I get pretty good projection and sillage for a couple of hours and longevity is about 5 – 6 hours on me. Not quite a full work day so I’m thinking of carrying it with me as it’s so cheap and versatile. For the price I would easily recommend Jaguar Classic Gold.

I picked this up for @$10 and if you like fruity vanilla then it’s great. I do like vanilla and the green apple and citrus combine to make a sweet but still leaning masculine scent. The wood and musk keep it from being too sweet but I think this could potentially be unisex. This was a blind buy based on reviews and I’m quite happy with it. I’m pretty sure I saw a review(s) that mention apple pie and I think that’s just about spot on. It’s so ridiculously inexpensive for such a great scent. Something about Jaguar Gold just makes me smile and makes me instantly happy. That’s it! It sure does sound corny but this is a happy scent! Insanely great fragrance at it’s price.

This was an unexpected gem as I got it for GBP 10 or 12 (a couple of years ago, can’t remember for sure!)
This smells way better than I expected from that price, and way better than a lot of more expensive perfumes as well – more interesting, too.
This is a grown-up, spicy vanilla that ISN’T Le Male! It’s fresh but spicy and woodsy, and bright while also having considerable projection and lasting power. The green apple really comes through and gives it its distinct character.
Excellent value for money as it smells great, lasts and projects well, and is distinctive yet still inoffensive enough for pretty much any time or occasion.

This is my second review of this Jag frag. I’ve had a leftover in a bottle of less than 10ml, it was a month ago and it was warm but windy.
This is a top fragrance in it’s price range. around 6 hours easily on my skin, couple of days on my jacket. Sillage – not a room filler, but opening is a killer. After half an hour it stays within arm lenght, leaves a little tail behind. I’ve got multiple compliments, even from guys. It was not rude or obnoxious, the scent danced in the wind and people were curious of this vanilla/apple/bergamot mix in the air.
In my last review I gave it 4.5/5 overall considering what you get for what price. I am not changing my opinion, it is still a 4.5/5, a beast from Jaguar that is worth to have in your collection, just to shock people, that ”Car company” has a really good one in their garage.

I received early morning my Jaguar Classic Gold. Blindly bought it, based only on reviews. Nice package, gorgeous bottle. It’s a very good perfume for its price, though not spectacular. But let’s say and admit that you cannot find so many perfumes smelling like this for about 15-16$. It opens with a citrus dominant, then transforms quickly in a sweet-creamy vanilla-apple-patchouli scent. This is what I smell. In opening I also smell a minthy/balsamic undefined component. Long lasting on skin, it can be smelled even after 10 hours.
    Smell 8/10
    Longevity 8/10
    Projection 7/10
    Overall 8/10

  10. :

i endorse those who say it is clone of Dunhill desire red.
this is fresh , tinge of vanilla scent laden , citrus scented perfume.
since it does not have a unique in its very own , i shall reduce marks in its creativity . suffice it to say that it is cheap version of DDR. My marks awarding chart runs as follows :
Scent 6/10 due to dearth of uniqueness and creativity
    longevity 8/10
    sillage 8/10
overall marks i shall award this
    76%
    EDITED :
I still back what i say provided if someone means longevity as to stay 4-5 hours stay and at 6th to 7th hour it becomes skin scent.

This does not last long! Comes on strong and disappear in 1 hour. The only Jaguar Cologne that lasts long is jaguar black. That lasts for 8 hours strong

    【2018 Thallium vs Jaguar Gold】
I’m writing this updated reviews for buyers who are curious between the fragrances. I receive a decant of Jaguar Gold from member LOCKON (Thank You). I spray Thallium on my left wrist, and J.Gold on my right wrist. Here is what happen:
    【1st 30 Minutes】
Both have Strong Powerful Projection (easy on sprayer!)
Both smell like Synthetic Fruity Syrup (thick & dense enough to cut through winter). Tallium has an obvious GRAPE SODA smell. Jaguar Gold smell like synthetic fruit, but I do not smell any Green Apple yet. They do smell very close to one another, like a fraternal TWINS to one another.
    【1st 30 Minutes】
Both have strong projection. Thallium still smell like GRAPE SODA, and Apple makes its appearance in Jaguar Gold
    【1 Hour Difference Appear】
Thallium stay Sweet Grape Soda, while Jaguar Gold take on a Apple Cinnamon Pie smell. There is no Cinnamon, but I smell somekind of Spice from Jaguar Gold. Both are projecting strong, quite amazing for under $16 cheapie.
    【1 hour 30 minutes】
Thallium is now projecting weaker, with 1~2″ projection from my skin.
Jaguar Gold is still going strong, with 2~4″ projection form my skin
    【2 hours – Winner is show itself】
Thallium has collapsed into a skin scnet. Its still there if I dig my nose against my wrist Jaguar Gold still has a 1~2″ projection from my skin (impressive)
    【2 hours 30 minutes】
Thallium still has a Faint fruity sweetness left on my skin. Jaguar gold, on the other hand, still has 1″ projection from my skin
【3 hours – Jaguar Gold wins hands down】
I struggle to smell Thallium now, but Jaguar Gold still have a 1/2″ Spicy smell
    【4hours – end of the test】
Thallium has disappear, while Jaguar Gold is still kicking as a Skin Scent.
WINNER = JAGUAR GOLD. I own & loved my Thallium, but I admit defeat. JG is the new cheapie champ for Longevity Performance.

I bought this blind for my husband. It was a deal, so I figured if it isn’t great we’ll use it as room sprsy.
It starts off fresh, then turns ambery, resinous.
Its not a bad fragrance, but not great either. Not grest in the sense it is so much like everything else out there, it seems they formulated it to mass sell, not to create a unique fragrance.
    Its wearable. Not memorable.

  17. :

    4 out of 5

I checked the notes before blind buying this and I was maybe expecting something a little like Boss Bottled, probably because I saw apple and vanilla among the notes. You do get that, sort of. I’ve never tried Dunhill Desire Red but if this is similar then I’m not missing all that much. I don’t hate it, in fact the very deep drydown is amazing but we will get to that in a moment. The opening is a potently tart, sweetness with citrus but an over all feel of sensual warmth of woody vanilla. My problem is that it smells a little cheap and something I don’t dislike but I’m not crazy about either. There’s depth there but it’s confused and crowd pleasing for the same reason I’m not mad about 1 Million or Eros. I believe there’s an incense/resin/amber smell in Jaguar Classic Gold which really reveals itself in the drydown. It kinda became similar to CdG Florential, a kinda berry like resinous smell that’s quite lovely. All that was lurking underneath a slightly harsh, cheesy fragrance…I’m definitely going to wear it. Performance was pretty good too.

This smells cheap but good enough. and it lasts long and project like a beast. go easy on the spray.

This one´s confusing fragrance. I don´t know if it is a spring, winter or fall fragrance. The notes are fresh, so it could be a summer fragrance…but the smell is not fresh indeed! Another frag that i don´t understand. Lucky, this is a cheap fragrance…so i don´t have to regret this purchase!

The effect this stuff is having on me? I’m agitated by it; ANGRY around it. I had to get it away from me to calm down. This stuff is nauseating! I mean that literally — it turns my stomach. I bought it because some swore by it and I’m just swearing AT it. SO cheap, synthetic, plastic, phony, embarrassing, cloying… Now it only cost me $15 w/tax delivered, but thank goodness the packaging is also so cheap there were pieces of the cracked plastic around the bottle broken off and clattering inside the box… back it’s going. Yeah, so bad I’m returning a $15 bottle!

  22. :

Been my signature scent over a year. It was may first fragnance I had. First impressions after several sprays was too strong for me but as time goes by it would be soft and calm. Especially when start entering middle notes to base notes. Projection, sillage and longevity are the most reliable parts from this fragnance. In my opinion, it would be suitable for special occasions. But for daily uses, never go wrong with it. It’s also cheap but comes with good quality. Best value for my money ($20).
    My rating : 7.5/10

To add…..This is potent and yummy. Like a caramel and apple pie.

  24. :

    5 out of 5

So I have to say that after all the really good reviews on this I really thought I was going to love this but unfortunately this scent is only a neutral to me and yet another Chanel Allure clone. ( More similar to Perry Ellis M or Dunhill London)
This opens up with a flat vanilla, apple smell that is neither good nor bad but rather bland. However, this does mellow out to a more woody, apple and vanilla scent that is just average to my nose. In the drydown this smells like a mix between Perry Ellis M and Thallium but this is a better version of both of those as it’s more smooth and better blended.
Performance on this is good — it projects loudly for an hour but then dies down to a nice scent bubble around you about a foot and lasts 5-8 hours.
    Overall rating— 6.5 out of 10 !
It’s an ok scent that’s really well blended for a cheapie but unfortunately this scent is boring to me.
Sidenote: My gf Hated this !!! She said it was too strong ( with 3 sprays) and said it smelled like Christmas cookies which was ok but not t scent she would want in a cologne…lol

Wow this is wonderful after a couple of somewhat disappointed blind buys – I was not going to take the risk on this one so I went to a shop and luckily this one could be tested and I was immediately blown away – nice citrus, apple opening – a dry down in something more patchouli – vanilla – this left a immediately impressive – price was also impressive, under €20/100ml-3.4oz. The bottle is somewhat crap – glass with a plastic side molding in gold – but ok you don’t buy a scent for its bottle

  26. :

    4 out of 5

    I didn’t want to like this, I really didn’t. But I do.
It’s too cheap, I said to myself.
    It’s a synthesis of synthetics, I said.
I like it because it does what it says on the box.
I like it because I know I shouldn’t.I like it when everyday things say “see, I told you so”.
The generic citrus-apple blast tones down to a playful list of sweet-ish vanilla, musk and everything else it says in the box. Verbatim.
Little floofs and poofs still appear after some time, reminding you that it’s still there; and that everything is OK.
No guessing or pissing people off by triggering repressed memories for them.Just a neat little ‘this is a nice smell isn’t it?’, safe & socially acceptable scent.
An inexpensive little bit of fun. And for most, the only Jag they’ll ever own; so why not?

  27. :

I discovered a killer blend with this fragrance and with Escada Magnetism. It’s so unique and interesting makes everyone around you ask you what are you wearing.
If it lingers around it’s so nice, pleasant and elegant but as you get closer it kinda gets more synthetic but in a good way, sweeter and sweeter and a whole fucking lot more sexy.
Ratio for the blend is 1×1.Perfect for the type of guys who like all the women to adore them.Projection about 2 hours, performance about 8-9.
Perfect extreme beast mode “get all the girls” mode is 2x Magnetism behind each ear,3x Jaguar Classic Gold over it,1x Magnetism and Gold on the neck.Be careful with this one, very strong in the first 1 hour.
Incredible cheap blind buy.Perfect for Spring and Fall, all types of events, night parties,a night at refined club or a restaurant.Good for medium temperature, good indoor and outdoor,a lot of sweet vanilla with a little bit of Eros’s apple and a little bit of citrus, smells a lot more expensive than it is.Age 18+,overall great frag and with Magnetism,it’s just incredible.

  28. :

    3 out of 5

Ok. Cheap blind buy. First sniff I was less than impressed. It smells just like Polo Red or Thallium. As it wears however something comes into play that is wonderful. I know there’s no incense in here but, you get that vibe. I have wore it three times now and I like it more each time I wear it! It is better than Red and Thallium in my opinion. I’m surprised to say I love this stuff. But I do!

  29. :

    3 out of 5

I have to say… I am not usually a fan of point blank fruity sweet scents, and in fact, at looking this over in ingredients listed I thought I may never buy it, especially when i have Dunhill desire for man red. Yep… I can see the resemblance and basically have the same ingredients. I love DHDFAMR but this Jaguar Classic Gold is even better to me, both in performance and elegant execution. It has a fantastic follow your nose aura.

  30. :

Beautiful sweet fragrance strong silage and lasts all day. A bit harsh and chemical at the beginning but mellows down nicely. Projects all day lots of compliments. And for the price it’s a real steal.

  31. :

My review:Buy it!–that said, this was a blind buy based on reviews here;and this is a home-run! not a grand-slam but a solid home run! Keywords: Mature(35+),successful,dapper,a lot of style for a slight price! A too good to be true, but it’s true moment! J.C.G. would be what Don Draper of Mad Men would wear, something handsome but not exotic. Not disappointed in the least,I will agree with other reviews the scent is not challenging or unique, but it is special in it’s own right. It reminds me of a fragrance that could have come from Boss in the 80’s at a fraction of the price. There are worse ways to spend $20 bucks, and I do mean spend vs waste. The scent is a firm 9/10. the longevity is another 9/10 for me as well! All around well-crafted is the highest compliment I can muster,I’m gonna love wearing this come Spring! It smells gilted as well!

    OMFG YES, YES, YES!
Fragrantica reviews got me to buy this.
    And it’s amazing.
Smells like a fresh apple pie.
    Simply amazing.
    Please disregard the snobs.
Smh, it smells great last seven hours plus and sillage is a foot or two ahead of me after four hours of wearing this scent.
Man the tonka bean, granny smith apple, and vanilla is; a warm crowd pleaser & inviting.s
I love turning heads on a crowded train.
“Excuse me, but you smell really good, what are you wearing?”
I love hearing that, it brightens my day.
I’ve gotten two so far today
    NYC 02/08/2017 I think it’s 38 degrees.
I love sweet scents check my favorites out on my shelf.
It must last long, have great sillage and smell great.
    And this hit’s all three.
Bonus it cost about $13 for a 3.4 Oz bottle.
    Must buy!
A*men just got a run for its money.
    And I love both.
Will buy more and give it to love ones as gifts.

    Value: 9/10

From the notes breakdown seems like this fragrance really resemble hugo boss bottled/ boss #6.
But to me,the quality is just really bad. It smells really cheap and dated. I got a partial bottle and it’s so bad that I had to throw it away. Really regret purchasing this, with the money I spent I could’ve bought some decent cheapies instead such as voyage, or maybe chrome. Save your money and just leave this in the bargain bin. It’s where it belongs to be.

  35. :

A very nice vanilla/apple scent. It does remind me of Dunhill Desire Red. However, this has it’s own character and is excellent value. Very good longevity and projection. It’s a cracker!

  36. :

This is a very vanilla fragrance. I can’t smell Citrus or Apple. It’s like a Vanilla scent for men. So soft and relaxing.

  37. :

    3 out of 5

Classic Gold is very powerful and sweet.
It reminds of sweet champagne smell, strong and sharp citrus upon opening then it settles down to a sweet vanilla fruity apple and patchouli with a bitter bergamot.
Would not call it a citrus fragrance, it is more of a sweet aromatic. Would not recommend to wear it in summer, choked on it in summer heat, way to strong and powerful, and very bitter sweet.
It last very long, all day actually, with huge projection, and it stays on clothes until it is washed.
Reminds a little of Hugo Boss Bottled Intense, but mostly it has this same synthetic fruity vibe in the dry-down of Erba Pura by Sospiro.

  38. :

Jaguar’s worth fragrance ever. Guys who like everyone to smell they’re wearing a fragrance will probably like it, I don’t. The sentence is as cheap as Versace’s dreamer, Tonino Lamborgjini’s Aqua or Superdry’s black. Absolutely zero elegance which is very surprising for Jaguar’s fragrances usually are pretty fine & distinguished. I can’t even imagine a guy wearing this gold thing in a club & the smell getting mixed with sweat. I usually like oriental spicy, sweet fragrances but this one is no way. Nothing except the bottle is nice. I thought gold stood for precious. In this case, it stands for I want everyone to see & smell I can afford wearing gold & a fragrance. Exactly like the kind of people that love to pretend talking about their possessions while making sure everyone have seen what they wear or have. Pathetic. My advice; skip this fragrance for as much it can be called a fragrance. 24 hours later, I had a shower but wearing the same t-shirt I smell like wearing Thierry Mugler’s Angel. Not as good & strong but I can clearly smell Angel.

  39. :

Very surprised by the quality (a real EDT of the 90 s).
It s like a fruity patchouli enhance by vanilla. It s like a light Davidoff mixed with Sculpture even if i don t like comparisons. Very well balanced with confortable sillage.

  40. :

    3 out of 5

Opening with sweet sweet sweet notes, which can be a turn off for some, but then after about half an hour the sweetness calmes down and kicks in the vanilla!
the heavenly vanilla and the discrete musk, patchouli and wood in a backgrund!
    scent: 9/10
    longevity: 7/10
    sillage: 8/10

A surprise from Jaguar, this is a must have, with such price, performance, and scent, everyone should have this in their collection.
like it is mentioned I get the vanilla and the citrus notes “lime and apple”, it is some how sweet/sour fragrance
Longevity and projection are really good.

classic gold = Golden Granny Smith Apples on top of relaxed bed of vanilla with light hints of patchouli
this is a very fresh juicy Apple / vanilla scent…. not gourmand-ish nowhere near as sweet as paco rabanne 1 milli, Jean Paul Gaultier le male, or Thierry Mugler Angel Men.
the opening is rather pleasant and inoffensive… sour green apple and zesty bergamot starts the show creating a shower fresh setting, perfect fragrance to start the day…. the drydown to me is a elegant woody notes mixed with a relaxed vanilla accord… best way to discribe this is sleek, vibrant, versatile
this can be worn anywhere, any season… can be used as an everyday scent… it’s light, durable and very polite in nature so it’s hard to honestly dislike this…. it may not be your cup of sugar honey ice tea but if someone else would wear this you won’t be offended as it doesn’t disturb stomachs or personal bubbles lol
any age can also wear this from teen to adulthood…. very versatile fragrance if you’re a woman who loves Apple fragrances but find some too sweet and want something a little different but still very tart and juicy this would be good for the Ladies also

Blind buy after the reviews in here.
What a lovely frag! Starting from the bottle to the magical juice in it it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. Opening is very strong, lime, bergamot&patchouli. After drydown I get mostly vanilla, lime, bergamot and apple. Musk keeps it in proper balance.
Sillage is moderate. Of course, on the opening it’s heavy as hell, my friend could smell it in the other room, but after 20 minutes it calms down and gives you this warm feeling I really like in fragrances.
It was totaly worth buying and I’m telling it’s worth a try for all of you non believers.
    Price 5/5 – ( 17$ for 100ml at discount store )
Flacon 4/5 – looks great, but bottle cap is hard to remove
Fragrance 4/5 – it’s great, but it’s not gonna make it to hall of fame
    Sillage 4/5 – it’s perfect
Longevity 4/5 – just what you expect
    Overall 4.5/5

Blind bought this today. Took a while before I got it for a reasonable 25 eur price in NL(100ml). To cut to it quickly I will be dead honest and say I am not very fond of any 2015 scents and weirdly enough for an oldy this smells like one. It actually has that 1 million thing going on but luckily it’s not as sharp as the Michael Jordan thingy. To go short, check it out: sillage 2/5, longevity 2/5, scent 4/5. Based on the reviews I thought this would give me some citrus or Hugo or Tommy vibe but it didn’t. It’s more of a round and warm kind of scent. Just a word of warning for other blind buyers out there.

To my nose it’s a sweeter, warmer, and better performing Dunhill Desire (which is a favorite of mine). Bought blind based on the reviews here and the fact users were voting Desire as a similar fragrance. I’m not disappointed, especially for the price point. I think this is one of Jaguars best out of their lineup (I’ve got my eye on you next, Classic Amber).

Pure Havane with less savory blend with little bit citrus plus green apple From Versace Eros = Jaguar Classic Gold
Age range: 21++ (for classy man!)
Sillage: 3 feet at the first 1-3 hours (3 sprays) on my skin or (1 spray) on my jacket
    Project: loud
Scent : 7.5/10 (at heat or warm temperature)
scent : 8.5/10 (at cold temperature)
Scent : Classy, Havane with less savory blend with green apple from Versace Eros and little bit citrusy (in my opinion), dry down similar to LDGE but without chocolate

actually this perfume is my first perfume ever!
blindly bought through online store after read some reviews.
the bottle looks good and very luxurious and feels solid with appropriate weight in my hand.
the smell is very nice fresh spicy citrus and endure for more than 6 hours. the sillage is decent and not suffocating my cubicle colleagues.
very good value for money due to its cheap price (IDR225K or USD18).
    very recommended.

Nice one. Reminds me One Million but it’s much weaker.
Price is low but still not enough sillage.

There is a current trend in the market of men’s fragrances in comparing any fragrance with the word “gold” in the name or with a golden bottle to the famous gold bar from Paco Rabanne brand: 1 Million. So I decided to start this review by making use of a famous popular saying: “all that glitters is not gold!”. That means, it’s not because it’s golden and shiny, that needs to be equal to or compared to it.
Jaguar Classic Gold increases the line Jaguar Classic, which has fragrances like Classic Black, Classic Red, Classic Amber, among others. This time, the company decided to merge their traditional values with a bit of sensuality, creating a fragrance that mixes citrus freshness with an oriental and sweet base.
The output notes are bergamot, lemon and apple. In the heart of the fragrance, teak wood and orange blossom. Finally, a striking base with musk, patchouli, vanilla and a touch of amber.
On the skin, the initial result is fruity, slightly sweet. The apple is juicy and blends, quickly, to the intense nuances of orange flower, which has floral and sweet aroma, intense and, at the same time, full of citrus nuances.
The citric output helps to ease a little bit this sweet aspect until the fragrance evolves and then, the base notes appear. And during this evolution is when the aroma of teak wood arises, with its exotic smell, woody and smoky, reminding old leather.
After a while, taking into account its long and very subtle evolution, which happens without much fanfare, a smell of bitter chocolate arises due to the patchouli, together with a vanilla less sweet and more liqueur, so to speak.
Particularly, I like a lot of the fragrances from this House and with this one here, was no different. In fact, in the first test, I got compliments, because it actually projects and lasts for a long time.
The bottle kept the visual identity of the line, now in golden tones, obviously. And to help those who seek olfactory references, I can say that resembles the fragrance of Thallium, from 2002 (without the pineapple) which, in turn, is also much compared to Dunhill Desire, from 2000.

Very nice! One of the best perfumes Jaguar. Although this wave of fragrance “Gold”, thankfully, has nothing to do with One Million, like countless other “Gold”. Great sillage and fixation.

For less than $20 (on Ebay) this is a great scent. It seems best suited for fall and spring weather – between 55 and 80 degrees. It smells to me somewhat citrusy but still aromatic with a vanilla undertone…
