Description

Join the Club Collection includes ten perfumes representing ten different kind of virtual clubs. Fatal Charme is about elegance, glamour and fashion; Ivory Route is an adventure and travelling club; Marquee represents a theater club; Kind of Blue is all about jazz; 40 knots is a yachts club; Ascot Moon is a horse club; Birdie is for golf lovers; Comandante is for fine cigar lovers; Shunkoin is for meditation and More than Words captures the world of writers and poets.

The ingredients of these fragrances are to be kept a secret. However, each fragrance will have its identification card with a number which one could use to join the real club of the owners of these perfumes. That’s how the concept goes from virtual clubs to forming a real one.

The bottles of the fragrances are made out of authentic blue glass; not the tinted kind but the glass of which the production is limited and are very rare.
Ivory Route was launched in 2012.

From the moment I sniffed it out of my friend’s bottle, I knew that I will need to have this gorgeous creaminess in my collection. The vanilla and spices together makes this scent very milky-like, in the most wonderful way a fragrance can interpret that kind of smell. The sandalwood is just out of this world adding to the creaminess with its silky quality, and allowing saffron to tint this beautiful mixture. My friend often tells me that it smells like white chocolate on me, but it all depends on the day and weather. Each time I wear it, she asks me what fragrance I’m wearing because it just has so many faces and feelings. The sillage and longevity are fantastic! So unusual for me, but I get about 8-9 hrs of it, and can still smell it in my hair the next day.

One of the most devastatingly beautiful Orientals in the market today, this woody spicy marvel from Xerjoff is a masterclass in blending. The perfume opens on a herbal fresh note with mint and Indian basil (tulsi), the latter a very rarely used ingredient in perfumery. The heart is all spicy comprised of cardamom, cloves, pepper, cinnamon and other spices. The perfume settles into a powdery base of myrtle pepper, patchouli and sandalwood. The overall feeling is very transportive and healing and like being dropped in an Indian or Sri Lankan spice plantation with lush greenery and elephants carrying the logged wood. This is a unisex perfume with moderate to strong sillage and projection and very good longevity. If there is one Oriental that belongs in your collection, it is this resplendent and evocative beauty. Enjoy!

Xerjoff Ivory route symbolise adventure to the exotic place’s and they have used lot of exotic notes like spice’s, sandalwood and basil (Tulsi). This notes are personally not very exotic for me as I come from India where these ingredients are quite common but it will be for western audience who are not used to these kinds of notes/ingredient
As you spray this fragrance you smell spice’s and dominant by pepper and some sweetness which most folks say is vanilla but I think it is sandalwood which is providing the woody base with tinge of sweetness and it has dusty backbone because of basil. Ivory Route has got a very sophisticated aura around me though notes are very exotic but still very easy to wear! As the journey of this perfume grows the sweetness in the perfume is totally gone after couple of hours and now it’s totally dry and spicy just like a bazaar in summer afternoon in north Indian plains. Ivory Route has also got very nice Projection and silage throughout the journey of the perfume where it sits close to you and if anyone comes close to you will touched by classiness of this perfume, Longevity is around 8-10 Hours which is fantastic.
This is excellent fragrance overall IMO and in top 5 xerjoff for sure which considering the vast amount of fragrance in xerjoff world is very good achievement. I will recommend this for Fall/winter and cool spring night’s and it will add boldly to your personality. If you must compare this to any perfume, then I will compare this with Tauer LDDM or SHL Taklamakan as they are from similar family as Ivory Route. It comes only in 50ML Size and cost around 220$ which is high amount to pay but it can be found on discounted sites so It is something worth trying/Sampling but it’s not a safe blind buy.9/10

This is so creamy and pleasant. “Why oh why do I like scents that are so damn pricey”? I guess my nose is snobbish like that, because I also love Xerjoff Naxos. Naxos and Ivory Route share that same wonderful creaminess after 20 minutes or so. Just perfect. Well, if it’s spectacular but pricey, and if you can afford it, just open your wallet and be happy.

AFTER many email to Xerjoff they said to me its discontinued unfortunately and i have just 2 bottle of this gorgeous
I wear it in very formal situations and dating time
I love it like the love it means.
If i want to say a sentence about this i should have said this mysterious and something like secret that when you wear it you will find everytime simething it challenge you that it has not usual formulation of course its complex like travel that every thing will surprise you.
    ***First Spray***
When i spray it on my skin i got peppery and spicy notes that mix or has base on woody and vanilla that you can feel powdry of it too but this is unisex perfume but To me i prefer the smell of it on men not girl (sorry girl you have very nice choices instead of this and more sexy)
This is really sexy for a gentlemen its like complex odour
spicy note, almost sharp, clears the senses and prepares the mind. It is reminiscent of fine basil with a strong breeze of all spice wow you should try it out man
    Love it
And also very sad that this is discontinued
    I love it
The name of travel is really match with this concept.

    Theorema Leggero, anyone?
(Ambre Nuit in some extent, too.)
Not that it’s a bad thing, just too familiar and unoriginal for the whole JTC thing going on…IMHO.
But, since Theorema Leggero is discontinued long ago and Ambre Nuit not exactly accessible, Ivory Route may as well be brilliant!
It also gave me a 5-minute sneeze attack, so if too sensitive to pepper/spicy notes, keep it away from your nose for the first couple of minutes. After that, it’s all creamy sandalwood with a pinch of spice.

Realy it’s like a craftsman studio on a clothes. Somehow like a train station, machine motor oils in the beginning.
Before it stays more peppery, on skin it’s sour, but dry down is absolutely fabulous sweetsour and sweet sandal, peppery, benzoi, pachouly.
If Ivory Route is too strong, loud or harshy to you, then Orlov Star of the Season will be the right one. Softer, more delicate version.

The only other time I’ve had a reaction to a fragrance like the one I had with this was with Andy Tauers L`Air du Desert Marocain. Whereas that one conjured up visions of the spice markets of North Africa, Ivory Route took me instantly to another location.
Like LDDM I get an intensely dry and dusty feel from this fragrance but not the arid desert dryness of the Tauer creation, this is more like a craftsman woodworking studio where the scent of exotic woods from all over the globe hangs in the air and tickles the olfactory senses.
And just like the craftsman who can work the wood into many beautiful object the craftsmen at Xerjoff have carved out a beautiful creation here.
It’s warm, peppery, vanillic and spicy. It’s a very comforting scent and has very impressive performance lasting a long time on the skin and and huuuuggge time on clothing.
If you want to wear a fragrance that challenges the senses and takes your mind to exotic locations then please try this beauty out, I cannot praise it highly enough.

I just received my sample from lucky scent…first thoughts…WOW, this will likely be on my to buy list! Sweet in a wood type way not a candy way, the basil (I suppose) lends a little freshness, there is a lovely patchouli and spices galore!! It seems like there is a hint of vanilla in the opening, but as it moves on, I believe that is actually a very creamy, slightly sweet sandalwood. It is quite heavy on the spices, so if you don’t like spicy scents, you will likely pass on this. It’s definitely worth trying! ❤️❤️❤️

Vanilla, spices and sandalwood… creamy and smooth, every time I wear it I get 12 hours longevity. Sillage is soft but noticeable. One of my favourite vanilla scents, the sprayer on the bottle is very nice too, a wide soft mist.. I would suggest it’s mostly synthetic for the staying power, natural organic vanilla doesn’t last remotley this long, but I don’t really care too much.. it smells great, very happy it’s in my collection!

I love this stuff, but I don’t get many of the notes listed in the pyramid and it certainly doesn’t smell like Mauboussin’s M Generation to my nose at all. Ivory Route for me is all about a spicy woody masculine sandalwood that has a rich, almost-gourmand buttery vanilla note that develops and emerges during the second half, eventually dominating the conclusion. It’s a comfortable wear that’s very easy going while oozing quality from start to finish. It lasts forever, projecting very well for the first four hours (which is a long time to project strongly). Ivory Route feels right on a cold night out but would also be suitable during the day. I would swear that there’s iris in here as well lending a very light powderiness to the sandalwood but I could be wrong. There’s certainly vanilla, regardless of what the pyramid above says. And while it also claims “all spice” as a note, I don’t get anything that smells like cooking spices. Either way, I like Ivory Route a lot, and if it weren’t for the hefty price tag, I’d recommend it as a blind buy to fans of woody-vanillas. The first “club” among this series that I’d be willing to join, Ivory Route gets a big thumbs up from me.

Ivory Route reminded me of other fragrances that I couldn’t quite remember until now. It is a mixture of Frapin 1270 and Lostmarc’h Lann-Ael, at least on me. Very soft, creamy and lightly spicy. Very nice!

  19. :

    4 out of 5

Surely the note pyramid has no connection to the fragrance. This is primarily an almond fragrance with vanilla playing a supporting role, some saffron for a tinge of added colour and sure, there is some sandalwood but not to the extent espoused below.
Very similar to A Lab on Fire’s What we do In Paris is Secret. Thankfully though this is less sweet and dense, which makes a world of difference.
Overall, smells fantastic, a people-pleaser with quality perfumery behind it.

I love this stuff. I find it hard to believe anyone to bash on this fragrance unless they just couldn’t afford it, but that’s not fair. This is defiantly worth sampling on your own merit, IF you are a fan of creamy sandalwood with some beautiful soft citrus xerfoff dna. I also am getting a very beautiful unlit pipe tobacco note that’s amazing as well. So far, a real winner. I like more than words as a rose fragrance too, but I don’t find it to warrant a purchase. It’s also very very very strong juice!
Heads up, don’t spray this directly on clothes where it would make it wet..the oil concentration in this juice is super high and it will leave a stain. I put a couple drops to test on shirt thinking it would evaporate like most do…no. Never did and left oil stain for half the day
This may just be the most well blended concoction I’ve ever encountered. For the perfumer to make something this concentrated and to be a soft like scent….blows my mind

This divine juice is in my top 5. Its a super smooth creamy spicey sandalwood heaven. Most definitely unisex so dont miss out girls. Its pipped Samsara to my favourite sandalwood fragrance. Its not heavy on the patch but there is plenty of sandalwood which is what I wanted. I think its sweetened a bit by vanilla. I cant get over how heavenly this stuff is. I will treasure my decant for a long time. I could only dream of owning a bottle of this. Moderate sillage and longevity.

Super sexy! Completely comforting and satisfying. I know there are a lot of choices in this style, and Ivory Route should be given major consideration. Creamy vanilla sandalwood and cedar, spiced up with somewhat sweet cooking spices. I would put this into that slightly gourmandish, cashmere feel, wear on the date and get lucky…category. Luckily it’s Xerjoff, so the ingredients are of great quality, so this never feels too cheap, too clubby, too feminine or too sweet. Lasts quite a while, and can be sniffed within target range! One of my favorites in the JTC collection. Thumbs up!

The scent that references the Ivory Route and represents a trip club goes into an oriental path to do this connection, bringing in some classic elements of this family: sandalwood, patchouli and a amber accord that seems mainly made of vanilla and labdanum to me. With a predominance like that, it would be hard that Ivory Route to go out of the lack of originality that governs this line, but he is consistent and seems to me to be among the best elaborated ones. Here, i see the brand pratically referencing its Richwood creation (and, consequently, Chanel Coromandel), but in a balance where there is no roses and where the patchouli is best highlighted in relation the ambar aroma. It’s primarly a classic patchouli creation, on of those earthy ones with an incense aura and a hippie/exotic/mystique vibe. The spices mingle to it in a way that i cannot separate or point out them, they just seem to give a sweet spicy colour that complementes the patchouli. As this trip unveils, the labdanum and vanilla are clearly more noticeable and they give to me what seems like the ambar impression which is only suggested at the opening. There is something mixtured with the vanilla note that to me gives it an almondy touch which remains secondary level on the skin. The sandalwood adds to the composition a woody creamy profile, cozy and perfect to finish this trip into what seems the misterious orient aromas.

This is the first one I have tried from this new collection and I must say I loved it.
Since I tryed XERJOFF for the very first time I became a fan of his perfumes due to the quality of raw material found on it.
In Ivory Route I can feel a slowly but steadily the earthy aroma of sandalwood and patchouly unfolds which form the basis of the eau de parfum. They represent the balance that you feel when the adventure has ended well. Apart from the fatigue, you experience a deep sense of satisfaction and so is Ivory Route: warm, slightly spicy, enveloping and always good for a surprise.
    It worth joining the club.

It was the real wild trip, not that boring trip to Turkey for a week in all-included hotel you’ve gone last summer, where the sea laps at 30 meters from the terrace. But it was journey on the old roaring Harley Davidson, you inherited from your dad, the endless roads of the New World. You inhaled the sweet aroma of the steppe grass, that excited your mind, and the hot wind pulled your hair, and then the sun… infinitely bright sunlight like the ray of a giant lighthouse on the horizon. In that faraway, where your soul took you and where raced his horses your grandfather. Ivory Route is your path to freedom. To the inevitable desire of each of us to be ourselves. It’s a hard way, it is a strange feeling of excitation and relaxation at the same time, it’s sweet scent of victory and achieved goals. Did you tell “achieved”? After all, the sun-lighthouse is on the horizon again, so our trip has not finished yet.
    IT
