Must be my nose cause I don’t smell any vanilla; none whatsoever.
There is a sharp alcohol smelling note coming through and it has dominated all the other notes as well. It’s a very sharp and … I’m sorry this fragrance smells baddd!
Wil have to return this one.

I was very curious about this one, the bottle intrigued me.
Sadly, its neither what I expected, nor liked that much. Fruity, floral(ok), but too much vanilla. Its lack of complexity and heavy hand with the vanilla cheapen it. It is fairly linear.
If this is the type of scent you are looking for, save yourself a bunch of money and get coty’s Vanilla Musk.

A cheap shitty vanilla floral. There’s sharpness of cassia leaf in the top, a hint of sweet fruit and vanilla vanilla vanilla all the way through with a terrible synthetic quality plus freesia, musk, sandalwood; the top was so terrible I almost scrubbed. In the drydown it gets a little better as everything settles but this is a rough ride for anyone into true vintage and niche. Whew. When it finally finally hits the base, it is a lovely tonka and sandalwood. I almost gave up getting there. I put this is the sell/giveway pile but will give it another chance.Though I must say, I never understood when people called a fragrance “screechy” in the top. This is SCREECH.

So glad I bumped into this beauty -wow! A perfect wear anywhere perfume. Adaptable because its both sensuous and bubbly. The heavy glass bottle obelisk embedded with multi-faceted little crystals is a treasure and perfect mirror for the gorgeous aroma. Androgynous in that something herbal stops it being too feminine sweet. No comparison to Black Pearls by Liz Taylor. That was overwhelmingly heady and made me nauseaous. Too much honey. Here the honey is just a note in tune with the Summery brightness of this ageless creation. My safest blind buy yet. Got it for a song at Fragrance X – gonna stock up and check out the original and more famous Bob Mackie too! Thanks to all the reviewers that tipped me to check this out. xx

Very nice for the price.
Iridescence is certainly powdery and sweet but not overbearingly so. One of the reviewers here kept using the word “wearable” when describing it and I concur. It’s safe, dependable and comforting (as fragrances which push tonka bean and vanilla to the forefront tend to be). It actually reminds me a bit of cake frosting!
The performance is decent. Clings a bit close to the skin but its lasting power is acceptable.
Oh and this stuff is totally unisex. There’s nothing particularly “masculine” or “feminine” about it. Guys can rock it.

What an incredible beauty! I blind bought this after reading the reviews here, and all I can say is THANK YOU to everyone who wrote the excellent reviews! This juice is amazing! Deliciously sweet without being fruity or cloying, subtly floral without being sharp or green, and as for the “warmers” as I call them: the faint musk, vanilla, sandalwood and Tonka bean…just think glowing coals, comforting, hot cocoa or espresso, relaxing, yet sexy at the same time. This is a truly magnificent perfume! This has acceptable middle-of-the-road sillage and longevity for me, which is great since my skin is a true fragrance eater. I agree with other reviewers that this could go from as casual as you want to as dressy as you want. It really is a masterpiece…and hopefully I will be able to hoard enough bottles that I’ll never have to be without it again!

Bought this one for a ridiculous price of $10 and I ‘m very happy I did. The fragrance is super wearable, super comfort. Just right for every day. It is warm and sweet, but, as my husband said, “sweet in a good way”. Suitable for the office, definitely can be taken to not too fancy evening activities, like family dinner. Will go with jeans and with pretty dress as well. If you like warm charming florals you can’t go wrong with this fragrance. Strongly recommended.

To my nose it has nothing in common with Black Pearls. I have BP just for the collection and cannot wear it. Find it intrusive and suffocating. And I’m in love with Iridescence.

Smells like powdery sweet carrots:

Dunno what to make out of this, three competing scents in here: powder, sugar and carrots. Part of me likes it, but without carroty weirdness. Without it would’ve been powdery musky floral. Somewhat overwhelming, familiar smell…. I’d say evening occasions mainly or shopping at the mall times.
Buttery old fashioned vanilla makes an appearance shortly after and this lasts for hours. It does have that Mackie signature in it. I think my mom will appreciate this more than I do.

This is a true “Mackie” scent…in the same vein as the 1991 “Mackie”..a fruity Floriental. The top note is on the “peachy/fruity” side while, for me…the heart notes of Rose, Freesia and a little bit of Orris really set the tone for this long lasting fragrance. It ends with some musky/vanilla & sandalwood basenotes which provide sillage for the scent. I’d definitely recommend this scent to anyone who loves a true floriental or just a fan of Mackie’s scents alone..I’m confident you’d be pleasantly surprised!

Bob Mackie Iridescence is so nice from the initial spray to the die down of the scent, and it lasts long time.
Is a totally yummy scent that needs to be put on the bed pillows so your dreams are heaven scent and totally infused into your olfactory senses.
This is the perfect fruity, a little spicy and little tiny vanilla scent you would ever need to know
Love this, so way big time….you crazy not to buy it……xxxx

Very beautiful and modern! Warm!!
This falls into the category white blanket as well, like Palazzo and Trussardi Fresh (not so fresh, more warm en intimate!).
It is the type of perfume you put on if you want to feel cherished and comforted. Really gorgeous!

Hmmm…. I really don’t smell the peach in this one it is more of a very soft vanillaish fragrance because usually when there is peach in a fragrance it tends to be very dominant so I have to disagree with the previous 2 people on this. I have had a bottle if Iridesence for a long time and from the time I bought it I wasn’t really too crazy about it but if anything it smells alot like Black Pearls by Liz Taylor but lighter. The bottle is pretty and it is wearable but not a favorite!

The peach in this one smells like what I would imagine a bitter peach note would smell like. I have a perfume with bitter orange note and it does remind me of it, but it’s peach. The middle notes are pretty and mix with the peach. It’s nice, but I don’t love it and have to have it like with other perfumes I try. If you like peach I would give this one a try.

This is another one that I bought as a great discount bargain for th pretty bottle, but ended up with with a very lovely wearable peach scent.
Iridescence is in some ways the more wearable, orieantal version of Mitsouko.
A lovely peach note, a charming floral heart and instead of all that oakmoss a subtle musk and sandalwood finish.
Not a memorable composition, but a supremely wearable (there’s that word again) composition that gives you a understated brightness and not too much sillage. Not a girly frity floral but a more sophisticated take, just what you’d expect from Mackie, no?
