Description

Paco Rabanne brings back the trend of aquatic fragrances with editions inspired by the athletic spirit, competition and victory, Invictus from 2013 and Olympéa from 2015. The new releases Invictus Aqua and Olympéa Aqua are out in early 2016, further emphasizing the aquatic character of these compositions.

Invictus Aqua begins with an energetic combination of grapefruit, yuzu and pink pepper. Marine notes in the heart are wrapped in an herbal violet leaf accord. The powerful scent of guaiac wood is paired with ambergris and woody amber in the base.

The fragrances are available in bottles of the original shape with the frosted glass effect.

Excellent opening but to synthenic drydown that can’t stand :((

Invictus Aqua 2016 gives a dominant beach vibe with accents of citrus, violet leaf and particular woods.
It invokes a relaxed, pleased, open mood, suitable for casual wear and time with friends.
It comes off as well done, yet egalitarian rather than serious and elitist.
    9/10

This is really going to sound stupid. I never had the chance to purchase the 2016 Aqua, so I did something stupid. I layered Polo Sport for Men and the original Invictus, 2 sprays of Polo Sport then 1 spray of original Invictus on each arm and then 1 and then I just gently damp my wrists on my neck since since 6 sprays is alot of juice, no need to spray more on my neck. Don’t get me wrong I love them both by themsleves, but I just had to try. I love the way it smells actually, the Invictus is not too sweet anymore because it has been balanced by the citrus from Polo Sport. My very own and unique Invictus Aqua and nobody else smells like me. I’m going to try Clinique Happy with Invictus next time. “Invictus Juiceman”. I’m still going to buy Invictus Aqua 2018.
Edit, I tried layering these below, start with the heavy fragrance first then the citric.
Invictus 1 spray + 3 sprays of Clinique Happy for Men =7/10 (Clinique too even with 3 sprays)
Invictus 1 spray + 1 spray of Versace Man Eau Fraiche =9/10 (Started harsh citrus but after 5 min it was nicely balanced)
Invictus 1 spray + 2 sprays of Polo Sport for Men =9/10 (I found this to be the best smelling and best balanced between sweet and citric)
Invictus 1 spray + 1 spray of Bvlgari Man Extreme =5/10 (Bvlgari’s citruses were too strong and took over Invictus)
I can’t wait to get my Invictus Aqua on Wednesday so I can stop with all the experiments that I’m doing. Invictus is already good by itself.

I wish I had more than a 5ml sample to get to know this fragrance.
People talk about clones. Compared to the ones I smelled, Invictus Aqua 2016 is in a class of its own – take the following clones, for example:
    Cambridge Knight – English Laundry
    – smells closer to original Invictus than Invictus Aqua 2016
    – to my nose, it can be too piercing and thick especially the closer to the spray-point you get – guess you can classify this as being on the more “synthetic” side
    – not as zesty and obviously more sweet
    – Has the note of Bay Leaf which it shares with original Invictus whereas this note is not in Invictus Aqua 2016
    Invictus Aqua 2018
    – doesn’t have pink pepper nor the Yuzu note of the 2016 version so it doesn’t have that beautiful zestiness and freshness
    – however, it is not piercing and doesn’t come off as too thick or “chemically”
    – it is more sweet/fruity than the 2016 version and thus veers somewhere in the middle of the 2016 version and the original Invictus
    Legend Spirit – Mont Blanc
    – shares the pink pepper note with 2016 Aqua but doesn’t reach the level of cool, zesty freshness because it doesn’t have the Yuzu note
    – has a warm feel to it compared to 2016 Aqua – perhaps because of the Cardamom and Cashmere notes
    Teahupoo – Zara
    – surprisingly, to my nose, this one gets the closest to having the zesty, cool fresh opening of 2016 Aqua
    – also is the only one to attempt that “salty sea” note that 2016 Aqua nails; it gets it but doesn’t reach the same level of quality and that is true of the overall scent as well
    Back to 2016 Invictus Aqua
    – cool, zesty, fresh slighty bitter Yuzu opening that still has not been fully replicated yet
    – longevity is amazing (e.g. my 5ml vial leaked in my backpack and the cool, zesty fresh shower gel-like scent stayed in my bag for DAYS
    – the drydown is what I wish I had more time to study as I feel like it could be an x-factor (i.e. amberwood, guaic wood, violet leaf and ambergris – gave me a cool slightly sweet cloud sensation)
CubaKnows (Youtube Reviewer) recently stated that Franck Olivier’s Sunrise Urban Ice is a clone of 2016 Invictus Aqua – anybody here try it already?

2016 is very nice in the heat. I had this 100ml bottle since last summer and only just started to use it. My new favourite in this heat.

    Guys, just so you know:
When YOU ASK a girl (or a man for what matters) about a fragrance and she likes it, she gave you her OPINION. NOT A COMPLIMENT !!!
Compliments aren’t asked for, they are spontaneous.

I got a tester of the 2018.. sprayed it on and after the opening (smells like original invictus) it dried down to something very similar to the 2016 aqua – i then sprayed on my 2016 invcitus aqua and immediately noticed the difference.. the 16 is stronger and has more of that salty aquatic note that makes it so much nicer. I wont be buying the 18 aqua (i have two bottles of the 16). The 18 is good maybe a 6-7/10 where the 16 is an easy 9/10.

Wow.. i mean this is amazing… if you want girls to be obsessed by you during summer, you NEED this fragrance, it is a masterpiece… if anyone is interested i have an almost full bottle (like 99%full), with the original box, just message me. Don’t get me wrong. I need money right now, otherwise i would keep this gem.

Smells amazing in the air! Got a full 100ml tester bottle for free because they didn’t have any left in stock, so no need to keep the tester in their store.
Summertime powerhouse and definitely a masterpiece.

As someone who has experience as a live aboard yachtie, it’s possible to relate to the aquatic, woody and salty notes of this frag. It would suit sun-drenched days sailing, moored in a marina or beachside.
For sure, guys can rock this frag with good results.
The ambergris note seems more natural than the synthetic ambroxan in frags such as Dior Sauvage.
I have 2 bottles of the ORIGINAL BATCH 53511.
On a hot day, with a bit of airflow, near water, INVICTUS AQUA 2016 has real credibility.
Let’s walk along the beach or chill in a seaside cafe….

  12. :

    4 out of 5

sorry… but they all smell the same… berry, sweet, vanilla/Tonka…
smells just like YSL L’homme (and all 5 flankers), Paco Rabanne, gucci.. so many others
To me.. my passion for perfumery has really fallen. it’s nearly on life support now… -_-
I work in Retail, and i feel bad for the fragrance counters that have to make a living selling all these generic, common fragrances now.

This one has a. Fruity opening, salty drydown and not a cloying overlysweet mess. Ladies reactions are awesome with this one, but only for the first 2/3 hours because the longevity of this one is not that great. That’s right, for me, atleast, I don’t get the performance most people are claiming to get anyway.(Not saying it is bad! It lasts for 5h and projects for 2)
I honestly don’t understand why paco rabanne felt the need to reformulate this one on this new 2018 edition. 2016 is not only longer lasting, but it also smells better, with more character. The yuzu opening on this one is awesome and that unfortunately is missing on the new one. The new version is more marine and less fruity.
    Longetivity: 6
    Sillage: 8
    Compliments: 10
    Smell: 8.5

UPDATE: I managed to order a new and authentic bottle(s) of Invictus Aqua 2016 (paid $130) — I now own each flanker of Invictus.
My thoughts of Invictus Aqua 2016 is that it’s been heavily over-hyped online. While Aqua ’16 is nice, it’s really nothing overly special. I also don’t smell the similarity to Rasasi Hawas — which smells extremely cheap to me, due to the tart/sour notes Rasasi Hawas uses.
The only real difference that I can discern from Aqua ’16 and Aqua ’18 is that Aqua ’16 smells a slight bit richer (has a bit more “body”), resulting in Aqua ’16 having a tad bit stronger scent, and ’16 being a slight bit longer lasting. A final thought I have is that Aqua ’16 can easily be worn year round, whereas, Aqua ’18 is a true summer flanker.
Here’s the truth, if you don’t have Aqua ’16 DO NOT spend the highly inflated prices they are being sold for online! Just buy Aqua ’18 as it’s smells equally as nice as Aqua ’16 (I actually like Aqua ’18 more than Aqua ’16 because it smells more aquatic, fresh, bright, and clean than Aqua ’16).
At the end of the day….my favorite of the line is Invictus, then Invictus Intense.
    Overall: 8/10

  17. :

Too feminine and poor projection. Definitely overhyped especially on youtube. Women do not give compliments at all. Do not blind buy.

Working on a perfume store gave me the oppertunity(bane voice) to try this
I love it. i really like the original invictus and this is just as good. The tester is like 1/4 th full so Im gonna ask my hot manager to get it home into my collection. it would be such a trophy

  19. :

Zara just launched a clone of this, between this and Montblanc Legend Spirit… can’t remember the name of it but packaging is beautiful, part of a 3 set with clones of Versace Man Eau Fraiche and Versace Eros.

  20. :

    3 out of 5

im gonna buy the 2016 version, the 2018 version’s performance is crap but the smell is great, not enough citrus for me in this year’s formulation.

  21. :

    4 out of 5

Lighter version of the traditional, good for hot days. Great projection!

  22. :

    4 out of 5

Smells cheap and synthetic. Typical aquatic meets generic aftershave lynx type smell.
Strong similarities with Kenzo pour Homme.

  23. :

This is a review for the 2018 version of Invictus Aqua.
I decided to blind buy this 2018 version after a friend in Israel told me how good it was. He has a great taste in fragrances, so it peaked my curiosity. It has not been released where I am located so I had to special order it from Sephora.
I have not smelled the older version so I cannot compare the two, however to me the reformulated version smells amazing. I must add in a personal note that I do not like the regular Invictus it is too much bubblegum smelling for me. This however is much more my speed and I detect much more aquatic notes and very little to nothing of the bubblegum smell.
    Performance:
Projection on this is quite good 8/10
Longevity I would say is 9/10
    Overall score 9/10
This is results for me personally, but please remember fragrances change from person to person. I have always had luck with more aquatic scents lasting for long periods of time on my skin.
Overall I would recommend trying this fragrance, I can easily see why this was a major hype. It smells aquatic, but not so much as to falling into the typical aquatic fragrance. It keeps its own identity while smelling unique and fresh. Definitely recommend, but sample first just in case its not for you.

Just received this in the mail. Never owned the 2016 version. After I sprayed it on my hand ( only one spray ) about 10-15 minutes later my sister and her friend got home. They immediately both said “ what is that smell, it smells good in here “ I asked them is it this? They both said “ yes, that is amazing! “ so I have nothing to complain about smells sweet like invictus but with a salty sea note with a bit more citrus. 8.5 / 10

  25. :

    5 out of 5

The 2018 version that came out right now, is incredible, compliment monster, this perfume is being underrated by others, but i disagree; it so much versatile, I am wearing it in the winter time and I gathered compliment.
Last: 7 hours because I get used with this scent easy, but somebody else smell easily.
Projection: 2 hours not a monster but it does a good job.
Sillage: I think a little trail when you go trough for someone.
Compliments: it shine, this perfume is really good, is monster, it can be easily a signature scent.

    @SeekingTheGood – Also , Just to answer you .. i own both & love them equally .

  27. :

    5 out of 5

@seeking the good . Bvlgari Aqva Atlantique is as close as you’ll get to Invictus Aqua 2016 . The Drydown is also on the sweeter side like Inv.Aqua 2016 .. Not misleading anyone here . I” sure everyone here is mature enough to go to macy’s etc and put a nose on it themselves ..

  28. :

    3 out of 5

Rohan Kapoor have you ever smelled invictus aqua and aqua atlantiqve ? Bulgari is pure salt, no similarities to invictus aqua whatsoever – apart from the name. Stop misleading people.

  29. :

    5 out of 5

The 2018 is nothing as compared to the original 2016 formulation ..
It’s just watered down Invictus . Pls save your money & buy Bvlgari Aqva Atlantique that’s a cross between the saltiness from the 2016 formulation of invictus Aqua & The drydown of sauvage .. Every reviewer will have it in their top 10 ’18 summer list . Buy now before prices get jacked up !

  30. :

I own the 2016 and the new one….it amazes me how much fragheads really look to find reformulations and changes in a fragrance. 99% the same as 2016 and since 99.99999% of people don’t wear or care like we do the difference will only matter to those who look.

  31. :

    4 out of 5

never smelt the older version but sprayed the 2018 version on card in store and loved it. Fresh, bit of sweetness and sexy.
I almost bought a bottle but decided to sample it first. One hour in sampling it and this was a great decision as to me it seems to have lost a lot of it’s charm and appears generic and nothing special. It reminds me a lot of YSL l’homme Sport, but I’d take that over this.
Unless the dry down is unbelievable then I’m passing on this which is a shame as I was gearing to wear the shit out of this

  32. :

    3 out of 5

Purchased the 2018 new limited edition and imediately returned as it is not the same Invictus Aqua (2016) as I used to know and to love smelling on my bf. It is a marine scent, very cheap after shave like, watered down with a proeminent aquatic toilet product smell, also I smelled grass somehow instead of violets. Just awful. The longevity is around 40 min- 1 hour. Test before buying. WHY they replaced the old fragrance with this one? Even the bottle is a kitsch.

  33. :

Got a 100ml 2018 version of if for £55, good deal!
    Review coming tomorrow!

  34. :

    5 out of 5

    Disappointment.
When it came out, I got really impressed cause it’s not THAT synthetic, and childish-sweet as the original. And maybe I will not smell this on every second dude in the city. (Because it’s a limited edition, and yes, not that sweet)
I wore it all this summer, tons of compliments, sick performance. I thought this is going to be my signature summer scent, WHEN IT HAPPENED.
In the middle of the winter I was walking around town, and I smelled this on another dude. And few minutes later AGAIN on another guy.
Then I realized, this DNA is a champion, just like the original one (let’s be honest it is, althought I HATE it).
Many cheap brands copied this smell, so I don’t want to wear it anymore. Short term relationship, killed by its own success.
    R.I.P.

  36. :

Dived straight into this after reading the reviews. Very nice smelling fresh fragrance. Performance issues though like 99% of all fragrances bought in the UK. Id say no more than 2-3 hours longevity and minimal projection of 1-2 feet. This needs more power!!! Could be a real big seller if it lasted 6-8 hours.
Still very nice for the warmer months.
8 out of ten for the scent
    5 for performance

  37. :

    3 out of 5

Had a chance to try 2018 version. More or less the same scent as original Aqua, but it seems to be nicer, more pleasant, not as sour or salty, in other words not as aquatic, feels more juicy. Bottle is nice, with a very soft bluish fade, I thought it is going to be darker as seen in fragrance presentation, but it is nice, yet I liked original frosted glass better.
As first impressions goes, it is nice and slightly different with the same DNA, performance feels about the same, on clothes and paper strip it lasts a long time.
A definite buy for summer when it hits the sale.

New re-release of invictus aqua is out in germany too! Have not been able to test it since they didnt have a tester yet but the bottle is blue like some have said already. Looking forward to sniffing it to compare with the old invictus aqua.

An Invictus Aqua (clear blue fade bottle) just dropped at my local Douglas in the Netherlands (Jan 2018). Looks like a re-release. From memory this smells like the ‘frosted glass’ Invictus Aqua I guess, tho hard to compare side by side since I don’t currently own the old Aqua.

  41. :

Yuck. All i can smell is eggs yolk on my hand. I tried it at Sephora. If i wasn’t sure it was original bottle, i would’ve said its a fake bottle. Not a fan at alllllll.

    Projection: Beast
    Longevity: 8 hours easily
    Compliments: Beast

  45. :

The scent is great, but the sprayer is the best I have ever come across, it’s perfect, it could spray shit water on me and I’d still enjoy it. And the shape of the bottle!? It’s hilarious, I can’t help but think when I’m about to put this on “where’s my little champ?” Haha.

  46. :

    4 out of 5

Honestly, why do these companies discontinue fragrances that people actually wanna buy and try to shove some half-assed redundant flankers down our throats? *cough* Invictus Intense. I get that it was a limited edition but so was Pure Malt. Mugler noticed how much people loved it and decided to re-launch it. Who won’t Paco Rabanne do the same?

  47. :

    3 out of 5

One of my outgoing scent. I have two bottles of these. My mom and sister thought it smelled like rotten eggs but anyone else (mostly female) really liked this one. I had a few girls smell all from my collection this one was usually top 3.
Strange my immediate family didnt like it.
And performance is VERY good on me 4 hours projection with 12+ longevity

  48. :

    4 out of 5

I thought I would never like a Paco Rabanne, but the aqua invictus was worth it, I paid a great price (even though I’m afraid to regret it) But that does not have the original invictus smell … a more refreshing and sexy smell, with great performance.
Perfect for any occasion and place!
    smell 8.9 / 10
    performance 9.9 /10
    any age.

  49. :

    3 out of 5

Don’t think it lives up to the hype. Managed to snag a full 100ml bottle at a discount price in a store, but probably will sell it.
Certainly better than the original but it’s not that great. As it says on the box, it smells like Invictus with a strong sea kind of note mixed in. Not as cloying.
Whilst it doesn’t perform as well, Versace Eau Fraiche is a MUCH better scent in a similar vein. Invictus Aqua is quite generic in comparison.
    I’d rate it about 7-7.5/10.

  50. :

    PERFECTION.
Not that childish like the original one, smells fresher, but it still has it’s unbeatable sillage, longevity, and projection.

I don’t understand what the big fuss is about this fragrance it’s not really that that that good it’s okay but not that good it does get compliments however it’s not my favorite in my lot my wife says it’s okay not too crazy about it though I actually gave it to a buddy of mine’s that just came home from the Army after doing 20 years and when he smelled it he fell in love with it so I gave it to him.

  55. :

    3 out of 5

It’s an aquatic scent. Has a strong, synthetic woody base seen in a lot of designers. A tiny bit of Invictus sweetness initially that blows off rather quickly.
It’s a crowd pleaser, it’s light and airy, and won’t choke anyone out in the summer.
The hype train on this went full speed this year due to it being discontinued. I’d say if you can find this for under $45-50, go for it…but you won’t be able to. I paid $55 shipped for it earlier this year and feel that was too much since so many other aquatics do something similar for less.
A 6.5/10 for me. A decent summer aquatic that has slightly above average longevity. Not worth paying tons for it.

the opening is very fresh due to the yuzu note.Dries down to a woody smell reminding me the smell of sharpenig pencils.
My colleague hates invictus aqua.He tells me it smells like an unwashed penis. lol 2 lol. The ambergris maybe?
Performance is very good for a freshy.
    9/10 4 me!!!

I was on the ferry from Wales to Ireland when I spotted two 100ml bottles of this in the duty free store onboard for just £38 each! Needless to say, I bought them both.
It would have been silly not to have got them eh, you seen the price it fetches these days?
It’s a nice enough fragrance and all but I just wanted to boast about it really.
A bit like a baby with some candy it doesn’t even want. “Look what you can’t have!”
Jokes and smugness aside, it is very nice and I’m glad I have it in my collection but so far I think it is a little overhyped. Good but nothing amazing is my current view on it, but I do have many loved fragrances I started off all like ‘meh’ about.
Could become a love too I suppose.

  59. :

It’s so-so. It’s certainly not something to write home about, and it’s way over-hyped. It honestly smells pretty generic, like I’ve smelled it a million times.

This stuff is okay. I feel it’s way overhyped and not worth the price hike. I personally prefer Le Male Popeye over this one.

As of 8/15/17 there were numerous bottles of this stuff at both duty free shops in the Charlotte airport for $69 (3.4oz). I picked up a bottle, but since i was flying domestically i had to pay taxes. I think the original invictus is absolutely disgusting but this is really nice. It has a definite resemblance but its much fresher and less cloying or sweet.

Just opened my back up bottle, what a great inoffensive & pleasant men’s fragrance… So sad they discontinued this one Candies for Men, Valentino V, YSL Frozen Cologne & Invictus Aqua are among my all time favorite designer scents that are sadly all DISCONTINUED!

This is such a fun fragrance. Ladies love it. Get a bottle while you can!

yes, I am worried about and I cannot find in Macy s, Bloomingdale’s nor other shopping center in US and not even in Europe where I asked some friends to try to find it.All the stocks are terminated and everyone where I asked told me there is no chance to have it again because it was discontinued. Online stores – same situation. Yes, maybe thousands of Invictus, but not Aqua. I really don t understand why some ppl here spreading fake news…

One of my favorites but use it on special occasions now that is discontinued and it’s harder to find online. Great Scent and combination of Citrus and Aquatic and some Floral. Great Longevity but with average projection and sillage then becomes a skin scent after 3 or 4 hours on my skin. A better fresher less bubble gum smelling than the OG.

no one will buy Legend in the memory of this beauty…believe me. legend share some similar vibes but they are two diferent perfumes. Yuzu on Invictus Aqua is to die for. Is a happy scent, I got tons of compliment and I am happy I have a backup bottle, it s starting to sell for crazy price and, yes, so many buyers. Advices like “don t buy for a higher price” are simply useless. it was discontinued and yes, it was one of the most beautiful aquatic summery scent I ever smelled in the last 10 years. Because is such well blended and quality. In my country wasn t such cheap last year, around $65 so, a price like $100-120 I found it normally now when everybody are trying desperate to find it.
Amazing longevity on my skin and very very good sillage, so, it was a really summer gem. So long!

Perfect for the summer with very good performance. I would say Paco’s scents are like fashion they are popular but not for a long run (example 1 million) so get it while it is still in trend.

Seriously, DON’T PAY BIG MONEY FOR THIS! For a fraction of the price you can buy Montblanc Legend Spirit. They are not the same but have very, very similar vibe. I would say 85% the same but 100% the same vibe.

was very excited about this one. And then I smelled the original and this one side by side. In all honest, they are the same. Aqua has more lighter opening, more citrus but it is the same smell. Dries down quickly and it’s the same Invictus. I love Invictus so I got the original cuz I think it smells better, stronger and longer lasting. The difference between the two don’t justify the hype. If it was indeed quite fresher with only a bit of sweetness, and that it lasted like the original then totally yes. Current version… nope. Not worth it, especially now when the prices is going up like crazy!! It’s the same Invictus, just add some sharp fresh yuzu. Still the original is the king so I went ahead and got myself another bottle. They dry down of the original is simply better smelling.

Changed my mind on this one. This is a grower guys, give it a chance, it will serve you well. Initial spray is delicious and sillage and longevity perfect.
For me this smells much better than the original. Something in this remembers me of Mugler Alien (probably jasmine which is not listed in the Perfume Pyramid above but is listed on the original Invictus).
Definitely a 8 for me now, i just ordered a backup bottle. Hope Paco will bring this one back in the market soon.

Update: Can’t believe they brought it back. Thumbs up for that

Agree with Terps… don’t get the hype with this one. I would like it for the fresh aquatic nature alone, but the cloying sweetness just makes it seem like the original Invictus in the far dry down albeit with good performance. It may get the compliments that it is barked up to have, but I don’t enjoy the smell enough to sacrifice it for that. Not one bit sad it’s discontinued. I sold mine.

This scent can absolutely give you a headache if smelled too closely or over sprayed. However, this is a legitimate club or party banger for the spring and slightly warm weather. The opening of this scent is stroooong and can put you off, but find a way to the dry down and you will appreciate it better. Especially the overwhelming amount of compliments that you’ll get from it. Its definitely for a under 30 crowd although I wear it and I’m 40. This is a Vegas night scene scent and because of the sweetness the younger ladies like it more.
Let’s understand that this is no Rembrandt we’re speaking of, but it was made to be mass appealing and get attention and that’s exactly what it does. The citrus, aromatic ambroxin you get from the opening, becomes more green and aquatic with a sweetness that is attractive in its silage. Im not a big fan of the scent, but i’m a huge fan of the performance and compliments. It last pretty much 10 hours and I get as many compliments as I get with Sauvage. My two highest compliment getters. Some of us like a more complex fragrance and that’s nice too, but Invictus Aqua by Paco Robanne simply attracts people and gets mostly positive attention. And in my humble opinion, it does it exceedingly well…

A young smell with a mess of an opening. Dry down brings some aqua salty notes. Last about an hour on me, low sillage. I’m 45. AdG Profumo is king of the salty vibes

Invictus Aqua is what the original Invictus should have been. Here the bubble-gum sweetness is toned down a lot and the citrus with marine notes are put into center stage (reminds me of citrus mineral water mixed with some fizzy drink). Still synthetic and generic, yet it is so appealing when it’s in the air, definitely a crowd pleaser. Don’t smell it too close, as it is strong even though it is aquatic. For the great performance (especially for a summer fragrance) and the likability factor, you cannot go wrong. Get it while you can as it has been discontinued.
EDIT: I wore this whilst working out. I found what makes it last so long. Once the citrus, violet leaf, woody and peppery notes dissipate, you are left with the ‘sea water ‘ note. Now I immediately recognized what it was supposed to be. Calone. It smells like water spray at a stormy sea (a bit bitter, salty and gives that mist type of atmosphere). As calone is a long lasting component (about 10h), I believe that is why the ‘sea note’ is actually calone. Other notes burn out quicker, but calone stays on for a long time. This can be found in Acqua di Gio, L’Eau d’Issey, Cool Water, Every Storm a Serenade and some others. This edit is not a critique or a praise, just a side note for those who like some trivia.

Smells pretty decent and i don’t find too much wrong with it other than the cutesy looking bottle but the major thing that put me off is that there is a young guy who wears this (or something incredibly similar) on the bus to work almost every day! I didn’t know it was this until i got my sample so i have to chalk this one off lol

I wear several fragrances, and certain people never compliment me on them… however this is the cologne they ask me about.
At first I was surprised how much attention it gets, because I am absolutely not a fan of this.

A nice light sophisticated fragrance , should you have problems with longetivity wearing this inland , try coastal areas I think that’s what aquatic fragrances are made for , summer/spring I bet it will do wonders for you . I once owned the famous aqua di Gio and well inland it lasted for fe
