Description

Amouage presents a new pair of fragrances by the name of Interlude. Interlude Woman and Interlude Man are said to evoke an air of disorder while maintaining a sense of balance and tranquility through the inventive use of incense and myrrh.

Christopher Chong said: “I interpret what I see and feel into scents. All the social and natural chaos and disorder surrounding us today can be translated to a much more intimate level. The interlude moment is a reflection of all the trials and tribulations one overcomes to attain personal satisfaction and achievement.” He also explained the use of ingredients: “Amouage has established an enviable reputation for re-inventing accustomed scents. Frankincense and Myrrh traditionally smell spiritual and religious but in Interlude, they have been reconstructed to feel contemporary yet sophisticated.”

Interlude Man is a spicy – woody fragrance that opens with zesty bergamot, oregano and pimento berry oil, perpetuating intervals of conflict which are countered by aromatic notes of amber, frankincense, opoponax, cistus and myrrh. Eternal notes of leather, agarwood smoke, patchouli and sandalwood in the base add lasting layers of depth and texture. Perfumer: Pierre Negrin.

Amouage’s signature glass crystal bottles are colored in a rich and mesmerizing midnight blue hue with gold plated decorations, accentuated with a sapphire blue Swarovski crystal. The outer packaging is designed in vibrant colors that show orderly chaos in abstract and conceptual representation.

The fragrances are available as 50 ml and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Interlude Man was launched in 2012.

Amouage Interlude Man is an amazing fragrance. It’s powerful it’s masculine and it sure does lasts a long time. A lot of people say that it’s daring.. yes it is for those who can’t stand tall to it’s power. In my opinion it’s an alpha male perfume.
Once it dries down, you get a whiff every now and then which is so good. It does not turn all sweet in the end which can becomes unbearable rather it stays strong and pleasant.
I tried Interlude Man and Myths Man side by side. Myths Man also has an amazing dry down however towards the end (after 6hrs) Myths Man looses power and you only get a sweet smell of whatever that is and looses it’s appeal, but Interlude, it stays there with it’s game strong.

It’s Impossible to not add myself to the lovers of this masterpiece. A beautiful incense with resins, spices and fumes. Oregano and amber seem to form something really similar to tobacco (if it is not even present). I notice a resemblance? Oh yes: Iron Duke by Beaufort London (due to the leather and the scents it provokes with other notes) and L’Air du desert marocain (because of the spices, labdanum and amber)
    An exceptional: 9.5 / 10

As much as I love my blue bottle, unfortunately Ard Al Zaafaran Midnight Oud is 95% similar in term of scent, sillage and performance.
I won’t be buying any more of the blue beast as I already bought 3 bottles of the latter for only $50. Crazy cheap!
    Update:
Al Hajes by Nabeel is also 95% similar to Interlude in a 20ml oil form. Bought two bottles of this. Amouage won’t be getting any more money from me for this perfume.

It rained last night and it’s a cool bright autumn day. What a beautiful weather to wear this yet another masterpiece from the House of Amouage. A joyfully smoky spicy monster that refuses to fade even after 10 to 12 hrs.I recommend just 2 puffs and it will get you tons of compliments all day long.

As an exuberant oversprayer, I’m normally aided by the fact that my skin appears to break down many fragrances such that really long fragrance life is rare on my skin. Well…. Went 4-5 sprays deep by habit on this one the other day. And choked people out around me all day long. 10-12 hours later it was still going strong. Took a shower. Could still smell it afterwards.
So. This one requires restraint. something I’m not temperamentally suited for. But, I don’t like taking out every sensitive person for a 5 block radius either.
Bottom line is I love it. It can be cloying in any sort of warm weather. But I also think when used in the right amount in cool weather, it really complexifies wherein you can appreciate all of it’s different facets. So long as you go easy on the sprays. I think 1-2 max for me. Which is very unusual for me.
I only wish other people liked it as much as I do and I might wear it more. It’s so dense and heavy and thick with sweet/smokey incense with sour/bitter herbal notes that I think it’s only truly appreciated with people who love fragrance and who also have a wide palate.
A bottle would last forever. I’ve had a couple 10 ml samples that have lasted forever. Such that I’m not sure If I’ll need a full bottle. I may want to add Memoir or Epic man to my collection and still not need a refill of my samples.
Which makes this one unique in my curated collection of only things that I love that I own bottles of. It’s so powerful that I wear it sparsely enough with only a few sprays such that I think I may not ever need a bottle of it. Despite loving it.

This is the most ridiculously long-lasting and pervasive perfume I’ve experienced. One spray on a piece of paper fills the room for at least the next day, and is noticeable for days. The initial notes and their development is very intriguing and complex. If that was what somehow stayed, I’d be sold. But the part that lasts forever is a spicy cinnamony thing which I can’t say I like, and which I certainly wouldn’t want to smell of.

Silly me, I wasn’t expecting so much oud in this. I’m not a huge fan. I have four varieties already – Bogart One Man Show Oud edition, Armaf Shades Wood and Oud Mood Gold by Lattafa and Aramis Calligraphy. And those are a plenty.
To my untrained nose Interlude smells exactly like the Lattafa which is a BEAST lasting 12 hours and then a further 12 as a skin scent. Luckily, I got it for a mere $17 for 100ml on Ebay. The interlude was another bargain at $130 for 100ml.
I’ll try them side by side next to make sure of my opinion thus far.

The masterpiece from Amouage. Absolutely incredible. Ultra powerful and long lasting spicy balsamic fragrance.

To me this one smells like flaming black char on a melted marshmallow. The char and the sweet marshmallow are completely at odds—the one sits on top of the other, and the resulting taste is a contradiction without resolution. Like the rest of the Amouage fragrances, the notes accumulate without coalescing. There is amber doing its own thing, and a mile above it there is oregano doing its own thing. Jubilation was a case of amber doing its own thing and blackberry doing its own thing. Amouage notes form cliques that don’t interact with each other but merely occupy the same room.

This is the most unike Amouage creation..all other fragrances from Amouage I did sampled had simillar vibes in designer world..but this one is unike and its got a vibe of the church to me..it must be the smokey note..still cannot decide If I like this one will try it this winter a bit more.

This is just insanely powerful. I only have a sample vial but whenever I touch it, what remains on my finger instantly overpowers anything I might be wearing. It’s ridiculous.

A Very oriental long lasting scent , i think it’s the best from the house of Amouage, the Opoponax and incense are dominating here , if your looking for something oriental and special then you will love this one. 9.5/10

It’s currently in the middle of summer and hot as hell today in my part of the world. I’m currently enjoying my summer fragrances right now but I really miss Interlude Man. I considered smelling the bottle’s nozzle to whiff that marvelous aroma, but decided to wait because there’s nothing like that first cold fall/winter day when I decide to wear this juice. The longer I wait to smell it, the more I enjoy wearing it. Call me crazy but I enjoy looking forward to wearing my favorite scents for the first time of the season. And Interlude Man is one of the few reasons I look forward to a cold winter day.
Others here have wonderfully described the notes in this fabulous fragrance much better than I could, and therefore, I won’t bore you explaining its unique and memorable composition. But I will say for many people this is a WOW kind of scent. Like, OMG kind of smell.
So who would wear Interlude Man? I can’t speak for the ladies that may wear this but I have a good idea of the type of man that would. He is a man of impeccable taste, class, a wordly chap, masculine and strong natured, and yet kind and considerate to others. He’s more of a mature man (35+) but young at heart. A man that takes care of his woman, adores, respects and truly cherishes her. He wears fragrances not for attention or compliments, but rather, as an extension of his character and values. A gentlemen to others, a friend to foes, and trustworthy to all. For that is the man who PROUDLY wears Interlude Man.

I was able to swing the purchase of a 50 ml bottle a few months ago. What else can be said that hasn’t already been said? It makes me think a little of the whole Mission Impossible hype. For the last six months I have been watching the trailer over and over while waiting to see the feature presentation to the point where I feel like I know the film and should be paid to have to sit there for it. But one should not come off as so blase with this fragrance. It’s incense, spices, and is worthy of the pure definition of beast-mode (due to the amber/resins) while it allows the wearer to experience something close to oud. All of this manages to retain lightness and color. It’s among the best. Maybe not an everyday scent, but one you will identify as special, coming back to it when something in the next weather change calls for it.

if you’ve bought this between 2012 and present day, you’re doing good with the longevity/sillage. I would encourage any curious nose to look into buying it, NOW..because there will come a day sooner than later, when the longevity will be barely average unless they maintain the power of it, and shave away all the notes & things that make it so iconic.
Sorta like what Coty did to CK/Obsession for Women…and I guarantee you, Interlude sales will drop off, if/when that happens. Without the legendary longevity and unusual note structure here, this stuff might as well be tap water in a blue bottle.
I know this does not smell exactly like the first bottle of this scent. I recall smelling more patch in the the 2012 bottle. But the difference between the first bottle and this one isnt important enough to research because its not very apparent, unless you’ve been wearing it for awhile. The longevity, judged by the reformulation that I own, is nothing to criticize. Case in point, I sprayed a spritz of this down the front of my shirt this morning…and a spritz down the back. And when I say spritz, I mean barely a full spray. That was 7am today…its now 3:15pm. And its STILL there, as if I sprayed it a few hours ago.
to me, this smells like one huge whack of sweet, amber–smothered, burnt oud, with a splash of lime or berries over it. And I cant think of anything else that smells like it. Whenever I see someone display a perfume, above, akin to this, Im leary. And in a few days, the votes have dribbled down to zero. And before you know it, that particular fragrance is gone. Apparently, there are many others that agree with me, when I say that Interlude is literally in a catagory by itself.

Update – I have had this a few weeks now and I am not disappointed. A great big Smokey Oud hug but with a freshness, consequently it is never cloying.
It is beautifully composed – an absolute triumph.
Interestingly, I met an employee of Amouage on the way back from London recently and it was a fascinating conversation. We exchanged various stories and what I came away with was her sincere belief that the quality of the raw materials used in the Amouage range is not necessarily reflected in the price. Considering I picked up 100m of Interlude for GBP 146 I would certainly agree.
She had previously worked for an extremely famous niche house (that I will not name here) and did not hold the same opinion of them.
PS. I challenge you to find a lovelier bottle 🙂

    An expertly crafted fragrance…..
Smokey incense…dark grey and dark green,
Not a frankincense “Church” incense ….more like a nag champa headshop sort of incense.
    Smouldering
    Potent.
    Damp
Patchouliesque damp forest log ..foggy with nighttime incense & doobie rolling.
    Ancient Mesopotamia temple
    Cool…not hot
    Head shop incense smoke
    Frankincense…no
    Amber..perhaps
    Pine …no.
    Leather..somewhat
I dig the vibe it gives me…..
Sort of a psychedelic heady vibe, with a hunter gatherer /man take woman attitude
    Verdict: excellent

  18. :

    3 out of 5

This one is way too strong for me. The leather and oud are bombs in here, they’re all I smell. I was hoping for a bit more labdanum, patchouli and amber dominance. Definitely masculine, and I would put it in the leather category as opposed to the balsamics one. I’m probably a bit oversensitive to strong leathers…
Very strong oregano also. That dominates the drydown alongside the leather.

  19. :

    3 out of 5

A strong, slightly sweet vanilla note that must be the opopnax; a resinous bubble gum amber vibe. Just a hint of oud in the background somewhere. I get wood smoke and incense. Maybe some leather but it doesn’t particularly stand out to me. Dries down to a smokey, woody vanilla. Deep and rich; notes smell high quality
Mature and masculine but I think this would smell just fine on a lady. Probably okay for work and for cooler weather. It is potent. Above average sillage and projection for around six hours. Lingers softly past the twelve hour mark. IM is a very nice, high quality fragrance but for some reason I expected it to be a bit more challenging. There are many designer fragrances that smell similar albeit poorer quality. I think most people would think this smells pleasant even sexy. I probably won’t be picking up a bottle or decant but Interlude Man is good stuff.

One aspect that I find admirable in the Arab brand Amouage is the fact that it has remained open to taking creative risks even after the process of internationalization of the brand. Not all Amouage perfumes are immediate successes, some are as polarizing as the Interlude duo, showing their value and captivating their audience only over time.
In Interlude couple Christopher Chong and the perfumers Karine Vinchon and Pierre Negrin olfactually interpret the concept of Chaos and how this is reflected in brief moments of reflection between the tributes and what is done to overcome them and thus obtain personal satisfaction. It is not a simple idea to be translated into an aroma, much less an idea that you see resulting in a creation that is not challenging. In this sense, the Interlude duo is one of my favorites of the brand, daring to create olfactory dissonances that when you pay attention you realize that they are complex symphonies to smell.
Interlude Man (and Interlude Woman) make me think of classes that marked me in the fundalmental school, when the professor showed us the mathematical concept of Chaos Theory, where we try to understand the random appearance of complex and chaotic systems, finding a beauty that was not visible at first. It is like the surrealistic lithographs of M.C.Escher, where seemingly impossible transformations in complex landscapes become real thanks to the illusions created by the artist.
The scent when sprayed on the skin actually looks like a chaotic aroma, an intense olfactory punch that seems to shoot in all possible directions: incense, leather, tobacco, vanilla, amber, spices, herbs. This may scare you, but that’s how chaos works: first it frightens and seems to make no sense so that only afterwards can you find order and hence satisfaction. Like the images produced by M.C.Escher, what at one moment looks like a spicy tobacco in the next, turns into a resinous incense with vanilla, and then turns to a woody leather to again become what it seemed to be in the beginning. Thus, perfume achieves the feat of appearing linear in the skin when in fact its details evolve all the time, but as we seem to have potent materials of similar volatility in the formulation their patterns end up being confused at times and revealing itself in others. I see in it a very bold perfume and one of the most powerful creations of the brand. Surely it’s a polarizing idea, you either love it or hate, but it’s the kind of project that gives pleasure to review, that has a different story to tell and that actually uses its scent to tell it.

Perhaps my favorite of the Amouage fragrances. This scent lasts forever and smells so nice. The only issue I have with it is that my skin does not like it. I cannot spray it on my skin without causing a rash, so it’s a clothing scent for me. It doesn’t stop me from using it though.

This fragrance is sharp, yet gentle at the same time. I didn’t think any brand could pull it off, until I’ve bought a sample of it. At first, it felt unbearable with the incense. I gave it a rest for a couple of days. I took it out, sniffed it again, and O MAN (pun intended) – “In the midst of smoke and ruins, hides the promise of triumph.” This is another capital WIN for me. Well done, Amouage! Well done!

Imagine yourself lost in labyrinth streets of some far away desert town of Middle East. The sun is at it’s peak and mud walls of houses reflect sunlight right at your face. As is the custom of the land, the streets are desolated at this time of the day. You’re alone, scared and thirsty. In panic you start knocking on the doors but no response. In desperate attempt you step forward to bang on this last dark wooden door. You found that this door is not locked, it opens as soon as you push it. Tense, scared, thirsty you step inside a hall like drawing room. The room is having a cool ambiance, an old man at the middle of it is telling stories to grand children. You are welcomed with a warm smile, offered cold water and dates and later qahwa (coffee). You feel much relaxed and lay down on carpet…later realizing the room is filled with a beautiful aroma. This aroma is amouage’s “interlude”. Whenever you wear it, you’re reminded of that mixed experience sending chills down your spine as well as bringing smile on your face at the same time.

This is a truly fabulous Middle East inspired fragrance, smells very sophisticated but not overly masculin at all on the contrary this perfume should be labelled Unisex, I am so happy to have discovered it and it’s now a must in my collection. This will get you many compliments, ladies don’t be afraid to try it.

The welcome phase of Interlude is a fruity abundance with a sultry character enriched by pure incense delight. Seductive in a sophisticated manner, this scent exudes a potent sense of the spiritual, of the meta, of places beyond.
    And how they attract!
    For about an hour.
Then the magic dissipates into smoke – woody incense and leather – which while still delightful has lost its fruity nuances, it’s luscious aura, its spiritual calling. Maybe it’s the familiarity of this theme, and i’m not a fan of woody fragrances, but after the excellent Gold and Ciel Interlude is an unexpected “meh” for me.
But I see why for fans of dry and smoky woody scents this is a top choice.

I have been reading all the reviews here and a lot of people seem to be complaining about Interlude for man. Let’s get one thing straight, fragrances like anything else related to senses can be extremely subjective. There is absolutely no doubt about that.
I appreciate the cultural differences people might have and owing to that, their palates might vary greatly. Also, their personalities might also dictate what they choose to wear.
So, Interlude is definitely a no no for prince charming trying to pickup girls at the club or at a school party. This is a serious fragrance and let me correct you by adding that this is a “Perfume” and its got a very serious character to it. If you’re from the west and oriental perfumery is alien to you, I would take no offence if you failed in appreciating the house of Amouage. It’s a cultural difference I have come to realize and appreciate.
However, please do not discredit this prestigious house.
Being an Indian I understand spices and heavy fragrances since most things spice related originated in India. The arabs have historically been our close allies in trade and this led to exchange of tastes and ideas. The loud sense of style in arab culture led to their style of perfumery.
The use of Frankincense, Amber, Oud, Resins, Spices were a culmination of different raw materials from the region.
Interlude for man is a potent perfume. It’s the smell of opulence and absolute power. Western noses might find it offensive and olfactory fatigue is common with such heavy smells. You might not realize it but this fragrance will last well over 12 hours on skin and multiple days on clothes. I have jackets from winter that still smell of Interlude and they smell strong yet pleasant.
Apart from the fragrance itself, the bottles are a work of art and so is the box. You don’t just pay for the commodity but the experience. So quit whining about the price when you’re investing in something as timeless as this or any Amouage offering.
The house of Amouage was commissioned by the Sultan of Oman and the house definitely lives up to the hype.
Interlude is not for everyone, it’s definitely not for someone looking to impress others with their cologne. If you look like a lover boy and plan on wearing this, thinking that pretty girls will come compliment you. That’s not going to happen.
I have had numerous compliments after almost 7-8 hours of application and this thing is an absolute beast of a perfume, it lasts forever. A 50 ml bottle should last you years easily. Just 4 sprays well spaced and you’re set for a couple days.
If you ever travel to the middle east, you’ll know what oriental perfumery is and how it’s different from western take on fragrances. There is less regard for subtlety and they love it robust and animalic. So if you think, you’ll rock this perfume on a tuxedo then you’re mistaken. You need to wear either a Kandoura with a Bisht or a White Kurta Pyajama and a safa.
    10/10

From 1mL TPC decant. Getting to the end of the wearing season here on the East Coast USA (end of April). Interlude is a fabulous winter scent, full of warming incense, frankincense, myrrh, campfire, and sweet wood. Lovely opening, drydown, longevity, projection…just an all-around fantastic fragrance! Precise and refined, but rustic and log cabin-y at the same time.
Useful in the evening, for the daytime in moderation (particularly in cold weather), and SFW in low doses. Avoid warm or hot weather. “Outstanding,” 96/100. A triumph!

I really see the love for this fragrance but the problem for nearly all of us is, there seems to be hardly a occasion we see us wearing this, except for maybe visiting a church. As good as it is as an incense based fragrance, this and the high price are the only two downsides. But the price problem can easily be solved. Since the fragrance I mention is not listed on fragrantica right now, I will start the “hype train”:
It’s called SWISS ARABIAN SHAGHAF OUD ABYAD. From start to end I can not tell any difference. It’s also extremely long lasting and projects very well – and the price here in Europe is only € 25,-
I would definitely say it’s an excellent substitute 🙂

Although I did not enjoy the opening, after ~4 hours it dried down to such a lovely and rich, excellent quality blend of oud, incence, leather and amber, at this point sillage is calm, but still very good. I will consider this for fall/winter if I can befriend the opening.

Well, as you know, I collect men’s parfum and colognes. This said, I bought a 3.4 fl oz bottle of Amouage Interlude Man. It’s incredible. I have never smelled a scent as unique as this! Yes, Dior Homme Intense and Parfum are incredible and delectable. Yes, L’ Instant de Guerlain Extreme (LIDGE) is awesome. Yes, YSL La’ Nuit del Homme original formulas are out of this world. But, this Amouage is in a class of its own. Because of all the incredible power behind this fragrance, just to be safe; I only applied a half-spray on each side of my neck just behind my ears. Wow! First I was hit with this unbelievable, intoxicating and overwhelming aroma of burnt-smoke and leather with some pepper, caramel, sage, oregano and slightly sweet incense smell. The room was fumigated with it. I go to work. In my vehicle, I have to roll down the windows in the dead of winter; its 40 degrees outside, because the scent filled the entire vehicle and I could not breathe–I was hyperventilating. No joke. After 4-5 hours of this smell, it dried down to a nice powdery, I don’t know what to call it. It was incredible. Nice and sophisticated, it is a powerhouse! It must be used with caution. Remember, I only used a half-spray. I cannot imagine trying a full spray because I’m afraid I’ll end going to the ER for breathing trouble. So there you have it. I don’t recommend 2 full sprays, your nuts if you do or I’m a super-wimp. Either way, this stuff rocks the world and I ain’t joking. I got it at a great price too. It is a 2018 bottle from March. I do not for the life of me understand why anyone would complain about this not being strong enough. I did half sprays and that was too much in 3-4 hours. The magic happens at the 5th or 6th hour I believe, but whatever it is; its incredible!!!

I’ve noticed that official samples are better than the normal bottles
At least for the bottles I own and tested side by side with the samples

Just arrived a sample from Notino.
I can’t understand how this can be told “weaker”. Honestly i haven’t tried the previous formulation but this one is a bomb: 4 shots on a whool jacket lasted over a week with a good projection till the 5th day at least. Then jacket went to laundry…can one ask for more?

    to darKSaga
reformulation is weaker and the great myhr is at least 50% absent in the base and drydown. Every perfume in every houses and companies are weaker. Just buy new stuff within their 2-3 first years, before reformulations, that’s the clue.

Outside is cold, so Interlude Man, the blue beast, is what I wear. Is just perfect for the colder days. I will always have Interlude in my collection.

There has been a lot of discussion about the recent reformulations of Interlude, mainly due to regulations and it concerned me a lot. I wanted to confirm for my self if this is going to be a full bottle worthy affair in the near future.
So I went on a quest!
    Off to Harrods in London.
And then to Selfridges Oxford Street.
And to Harvey Nichols in Knightsbridge London.
Over the course of more than 2 months and extensive testing from all of the above high rotation of testers locations, I came to the following conclusions. Again this is subjective due to different skin chemistry on each individual.
Spices in the top notes have been tamed down to suit more people who complained of it being too harsh in the opening vis a vis peppery pimento berry oil and other unlisted spices.
Longevity is not affected in real terms but it will be very feeble to some of the people who have the original bottles from the launch, because they have a different shock opening in memory than the current reformulation.
Middle, or heart and base and dry down still smells the same and you have that pungent leathery accord along with other familiar nuances which is the hallmark of this “Chaos”.
It is still a full bottle worthy affair for me!

I didn’t like this at first. When applied it smells like I’ve been playing in a forest fire. Straight burnt log smell. Thinking, “who the hell wants to smell like a pyromaniac?” But then the magic happens in the dry down. You start to get more of the bergamot, leather & patchouli. Zen moment for sure! I actually went from 3 stars to 5 writing this review… It changes & grows on you that quickly. Don’t get me wrong, this fragrance isn’t going to be for everyone but you’ve got to get your nose on this one. Home run IMHO & I’m usually not an Amouage fan. I’m beginning to think maybe I was wrong for thinking they’re over-rated. Projection and longevity is through the roof. Go light with this one. 2 sprays at most!!! 5 STAR HOME RUN!!

This smells gross. I put one spray on and I reaked of some weird incensey/body odor type smell and it was the strongest stink I’ve ever applied. After scrubbing with soap it was still projecting. There’s a reason why people either hate it or love it and I’m definitely one of the people that hates it. God awful fragrance.

One of the best perfumes I’ve ever had.
This perfume is not for boys, for men only!
If you don’t like oriental perfumes this one is not for you.
    Lasts forever!
    Great job Amouage!

    Blue beast…masterpiece
It has a “dark green” herbal opening (with a hint of citrus), set against a STRONG main accord which is omnipresent.
This unique main accord is of a sweet smoke created by the sum total of frankincense, opoponax, myrrh, agarwood smoke, leather, and remaining notes. To some people this may smell medicinal or overly potent, definitely try before you buy! To ME the scent drys down into some kinda burnt, aromatic, sugary-sweet woody-incense cotton candy; I find it delicious!
Performance is rather strong, it will fill a room with ease especially if you use a travel atomizer (careful with that haha)
Lasts all day on skin, and you’ll smell it on your clothes a week afterwards!
I got one for my dad as well since he loves Interlude perhaps the most from my collection

Recognising that the appreciation of fragrance is as subjective as food, art or even politics… so for what it’s worth ….
I got a decant of this from a very accomodating and friendly shop in my town last week and I’m wearing it today. The seems like a beautifully composed fragrance, it has good sillage and great longevity – 8 hours now in the sector 19 drone pod and it still radiates nicely. The best feature of Interlude Man is the dry down – it has great presence and balance as the smokey incense (which I don’t find overwhelming unlike some other commentators), the sweet resinous woods, spiciness and oud combine very well. I didn’t particularly notice the bergamot topnote which is fine by me.
