I recently moved into a smaller one bedroom apt and have been slowly unpacking my totally ridiculous perfume collection of 40 years and trying to find display space for all of it–(Impossible job so far—lots of it remains in handbags in the bedroom closet and plastic bins in the bottom of the bathroom linen closet. I am NOT right in the head!) Anyway, as I unpack I find myself re-discovering scents I had actually forgotten I owned and haven’t worn for years—I bought Inner Realm ages ago, when there was a brief trend for synthetic “pheromones” being used in fragrances–Androstenol or something like that, was what they called it–one version meant for women and one for men. The original Realm for women totally repulsed me, and the men’s smelled nice and clean, like a fresh from the shower man might. This Realm, the 2nd attempt for women, actually smelled OK to me and I did wear it for a while, since the bottle is half full. It was in the same bag as a blind buy from TJ Maxx, Fujiyama Love story, which I wore maybe twice and forgot about. I tried both on today and was surprised to find how similar they were on my skin—and by how pleasant, warm and comforting they both were—although the Fujiyama scent was much lighter and more delicate. I noticed that the pheromone note was NOT in Fragrantica’s breakdown of the fragrance on this page—was it ever really there? Something about Inner Realm seems stronger and more appealing that the Fujiyama scent–I suspect they share a white floral accord that usually works well with my dry, pale, skin–and the Realm, if it HAS that pheromone note, works better on my skin, post-menopause, than it did before. (Dear young women, in love with character free fruity fresh gourmand fragrances—WAIT!! Someday, if you are lucky enough to grow old, those “old lady ” scents will surprise you and smell FABULOUS on your old, dry skin—life is very different, post-estrogen–you’ll see!)Anyway, it’s cool, damp day up here and I plan to wear Inner Realm again—it’s speaking to me.

I’ve never seen this with a blue box, only a pink one for women, and a blue for men. But the womens in the pink box smells just like a public airport restroom right after it had been thoroughly cleaned. There’s still that pleasant smell in the air of whatever Fabuloso cleaner they used, but you feel weird about kinda liking it in the air, because you know its a bathroom.

It smells like a male perfume on me, I can’t detect any of the softness or cleanliness of floral scents mentioned here. Didn’t like it.

This was a blind buy. Very strong and “dark” scent. Way too strong for me. I had to give it away.

My husband has worn Realm for years and I love it on him. I had never tried the women’s version but I found Inner Realm at a good price a few weeks ago and bought it on a whim. When I sprayed I was overcome with the spiciness of it. I thought that I had accidentally picked up the men version. I checked my bottle to be sure. The dry down didn’t take long and some more feminine notes began to show themselves. My husband walked into the room and immediately asked what I was wearing because he loved it. The man who I have been married to for forty-five years sat down beside me and began hugging me like when we first married and said that I smelled so good that he wanted to “eat me up”. I decided that I liked Inner Realm better than I thought I did! I do wish that it stayed with me longer. I couldn’t smell it after a couple of hours, but it is possible that I was just used to it. If I don’t use it at any other time, I can use it just before bed when I’m in a romantic mood. It wouldn’t have to last long and it would definitely pay for itself!

Like the poster below, I find this perfume to be cheap smelling…like a drugstore perfume. Not that there haven’t been perfumes that smell cheap in high end department stores but I get her drift. My other half did not like it either, he said it smelled ‘too masculine’. Mind you I’am not a fan of white florals or stuff like Chanel No.5, which just SCREAMS ‘old lady’. Nothing sophisticated to my nose at all. Unfortunately this perfume falls under that category. I probably wouldn’t even wear it if it was effective as an attractant. As it stands its pretty thoroughly repellant to ME and I gave it a shot twice already. Only saving grace was that it was as cheap as it smelled.

Ok I know perfume is a personal choice but what came to mind immediately after this blind purchase was – drug store and not in a good way. A cheap version of perfume and I picture a woman with her hair dyed black wearing dark red lipstick. I actually found the fragrance offensive as did my husband. I know this is harsh but so is the perfume. It’s hard core or at least the bottle I got. If you want lasting power and to be noticed this one is for you… :o)

Very unusual scent! When I first bought it and put it on I didn’t like it. I’ve waited two weeks and tried again. It’s much nicer than I thought at first. I agree with others that a little goes a long way, so be sparing. It goes on as a strong floral and dries down to a woody oakmoss which is delightful. I slept with it on last night and can still smell it this morning. Word of warning; applied strongly, it can bring on a major headache. For the price and the beauty, this is a keeper.

Apparently I got a bum bottle of this so-called fragrance that smelled vaguely like a bottle of Lemon Joy sitting open in a person’s kitchen a mile away, but not as strong. For this you charge money? I returned it.

I wore the original Realm for years, always got compliments on it, but it’s a winter fragrance, too deep for summer. I simply adore Inner Realm, I have people stop me and ask what I’m wearing. Some talk to me but can’t come up with a reason why, so I figure they’re not even aware this fragrance is drawing them. It’s a fragrance that thankfully defies classification. It’s light but deep, floral but earthy, radiates very far from the body, and lasts for hours. This is without a doubt a well-conceived fragrance, and I love it.

On sale at Ross for $12.99 US for 3.4 oz. There are elements in this that make it smell to me like a softer, saner Giorgio. When I first sprayed it I thought, “Uh oh, waste of money.” It was strong and reminded me of a Department Store dressing room…generic, commercial “female.” Then it seemed to disappear. A few minutes later, it reappeared and now there is something about it I rather like. There is something, found in both this and Giorgio, that reminds me of orange flavoured baby aspirin. A sort of acidic, powdery sweetness that is nicely toned down in IR by the oakmoss and sage.
There are no known human pheromones, so I can’t imagine what they have added to make the claim. But this is actually a nice, rather penetrating, white floral with depth. Probably should be applied sparingly and not for closed spaces.

Hi – I’m new here. This is my very first post. That said…
My mother gave me half a bottle of Inner Realm about seven years ago, saying it didn’t work on her – but maybe it would on me.
We have always had such different chemistries, that it usually the case.
I tried it on my wrist that evening, and it smelled great. I wore it out clubbing and got all kinds of compliments from both men and women. It became my “lucky” perfume, if you know what I mean. I was wearing it when I met my sweetie. The bottle ran out, but I just recently found more. (yay!)… My sweetie still likes it, and we just celebrated our sixth anniversary. 🙂

Inner Realm is a really tricky one…but if it works with your chemistry…it’s smells like heaven.:)
Body chemistry and wrong dosage can turn a perfume into heavenly smell, or even a nightmare.Luckily I’ve found the right amount from this essence to get the “Inner Realm”-feeling.
Inner Realm is a mossy-floral heaven with retro vibe.Only two dab on the neck, and the vintage-journey is beginning into the feminity’s inner secrets. Yes.This perfume is reflection of the dephts of female spirit. This smell is clean and dirty at the same time, yet innocent and mature.Mysterious and refined. It’s pulses and projects itself with every heartbeat and every movement.
Mostly oakmoss dominates the scent with herbacious upbeats and light floral(peony mostly and faint jasmin) background. The flimsy sandalwood just gives a tiny little woodsy twist to the bottom.
This perfume dominated by the forgotten oakmoss with its earthy and dirty quality.Fortunately I didn’t get any synthetic feeling.
Inner Realm is an underrated fragrance, for its price tag really worth to try…especially for oakmoss fans!

There’s more to this rarely discussed and inexpensive fragrance than meets the eye or rather, nose. I can see where some people have said it has dryer sheet potential, that accord comes up at some point during wearing but it doesn’t last that long for me.
I do love the opening notes. The bergamot comes on strong with the nice sage-y, floral-y combination. The bergamot stays strong the entire time. When the peony mixes with the citrus, the sweetness of the flower mixes with the tangy creating, and I do not mean this in a bad way, sort of a mix of creamy sourness, kind of like that sour milk scent that baby kittens smell like (too cute!). It’s really very comforting.
I saw that glamgirl called this “intriguing” and Inner Realm is just that. If just for the baby kitten smell. The scent could have gone rancid smelling if this had not been done right. This is a very well-constructed fragrance; whoever created this spent some time and care working this one out. It is never funky, it is a gentle fragrance and lovely for spring.
This fragrance could be worn by any age group however, to me it seems “grown up” but not “mature” in the way that is often vilified here because of the good construction of the scent. I feel like a very confident adult woman when I wear this. Not too young, not too old, just right.

What a disappointment! The sixth sense the synthesized human pheromone awakened in me was a pounding headache. Soapy, cloying and strongly artificial smelling to me. It never softens or develops and for a scent I don’t like the sillage is too big–so strong you can literally taste it. And before you ask–this was one spray on the back of my hand.
    Sillage: the wide open prairies
    Duration: Scrubbed, don’t know
    Fabulosity: April fresh Downy
Value to price ratio: very poor

I believe this is the most down-to-earth, close-to-the-skin floral I have had the pleasure of wearing.
I see opinions vary as to how much it is liked/disliked. This fragrance doesn’t change much on me. This is a very uplifting fragrance with moderate staying power. I daresay to layer it would increase the longevity as it can be found as a set (fragrance and body lotion sets I usually find during the XMAS and Mother’s Day holidays). The drydown has prominent oakmoss and bergamot but not over the top. It is soothing and very much like Shi by Alfred Sung in that it lulls me into a good mood.
I shall make this my signature fragrance.

This scent is a mirror reflection of dryer sheets, and not in a good way. And I am not exaggerating here, it’s just so highly synthetic smelling that I can’t even use is as an air freshener because the air smells filled with chemicals.
When I put it on for the first time it seemed kind fresh and light, then I took a nap wearing it and i woke up sick to my stomach from inhaling this stuff for a few hours.
There are very few perfumes that I totally dislike not because of my taste preferences but because of the scent’s overchelmingly cheap synthetical charasterictics. And Inner Realm is one of them.
More than likely it will end up in the garbage can…oh, well, at least it was very inexpensive.

When I wear this fragrance it draws comments from both genders. Women want to know what I’m wearing. Men… well, men are men. LOL!
In all seriousness, the pheromones in this fragrance adapt to each person’s own body chemistry. It’s been equally different on each person I’ve smelled this on.
On me, for the most part, it begins with a bold, spicy floral then dries down to a subdued, natural earthiness. At particular times, however, it doesn’t always begin and end the same way… if at work I start to stress, I’ve noticed it changes up and alternating from soft to strong. Not in a terrible way. Just different… and intriguing.

I initially didn’t like the fragrance when I sprayed it on my wrists, but the drydown (about 30 minutes) was a pleasant scent on my skin. I can’t really describe the final scent except to say that it smells slightly spicy. It’s very close, with low sillage as far as I can tell. I found a half-full bottle of this in my bathroom that I’d forgotten about until today. I’ll wear it ocassionally, but it’s not my signature scent.

Ths fragrance is not sexy, romantic, or even pretty. What it is is CLEAN. The bergamot kicks in after thirty minutes or so and you feel like you have your own AC on your skin. That is saying a lot in this disgusting weather (100 and humid today).
