I like this, but be forewarned, there is a kind of urine type note (and I rarely smell such things where other people do!). Once that wears off, an hour or so later, it’s much “nicer,” though perhaps a bit less interesting. I consider the drydown to be unisex, that is if you enjoy fragrances like Aramis Herbal 900. I had a vintage bottle, which might be around somewhere, but I acquired a new one, which is not exactly like the latest design, and the person who sold it to me said it was quite old, but couldn’t remember exactly. I’ll compare this one to my “true vintage” at some point and report back.

I discovered an original bottle with the green cap and golden shamrocks. I assume its a pre 2000 formula. Its a no frills presentation that one may have brought back as a souvenir from Ireland.
The scent is rather large and potent. The fruity notes some peach and lemon, are not as obvious as its opens. Two of my most challenging notes are dominant-lily of the valley and lavender. They work here somehow. They weave in and out this big green chypre that has lots of oakmoss, vetiver and patchouli. There is noticeable musk as well.
The floral heart has an Irish rose that competes and mostly looses to the lavender. Jasmine and iris come along for the ride comfortably. I get a little leather and sea salt resting on the woody base.
This formula is unisex and work best outdoors. Its refreshing and clean. Just go easy on the trigger. I has a tendency to get stronger as it develops.

starts out a green floral chypre then a little wood slides in then it the musk rises prominently but that sharp floral stays present; very fresh and lovely for spring

First of all I completely feel the same as you kirussell about the spelling by Fragrantica. You would think they would check that they’ve spelt the NAME of the perfume correctly, if nothing else! Drives me mad too.
Anyway, I too love this lovely perfume. I love the flowers in it, especially the lily-of-the-valley and rose, which I can smell easily, and keep smelling most of the time, right to the end, which is quite a while. I love that it’s quite sharp and almost bitter at the start, with a very citrusy lavender edge, then moves into more of a sweet rich fruity combination. But then the beautiful flowers come, and so does the wood and musk, and it’s a lovely garden of sweet, fresh, flowers and other luscious natural smells. It’s a lovely combination of fruit, flowers and wood, and feels very feminine and fresh. I love it.
I also adore the packaging – it’s so pretty and fresh, like the perfume.

I wear this sometimes because it reminds me of my grandmother. She often took vacations to Ireland and brought this back for me when I was a girl, so it was one of my first perfumes. It is a bit harsh at first but then settles down to a fresh floral feel-good scent, as if you were standing in a flowered field on a windy day.

It’s driving me nuts that the name of this perfume is spelled incorrectly in the database. Innisfree has 2 N’s – just look at the picture of the bottle! Every time I go to search for it, nothing turns up when I spell it correctly. It’s so frustrating.
Anyway… I love this fragrance. It’s light and airy – like a fresh breeze across a field of flowers on a sunny day. Just magical.

At first spray, I did not really like Innisfree- it seemed too fussy for me, as I usually don’t like florals. However, after it dries on your skin, it becomes this beautiful, warm, sweet concoction. I don’t get the peach at all. To me, it smells like flowers and honey. It lasts a really long time too- I can smell it hours after I’ve applied it! The only bad thing I’ve noticed is that when I wake up in the morning after wearing it the day before, it dries into this weird Chanel No. 5 powdery smell, which I assume has something to do with my own body chemistry/temperature at night, because it doesn’t smell like thatduring the day. Also, this line is NOT just for older women- I’m 23 and I loooooove every fragrance this company puts out!

Inisfree is one of the best discoveries I’ve come across in a long time…..and I bought it as a blind purchase, based on reviews. It is a morning walk in the most peaceful garden after a little rain, the sun warming the stones of the garden path. Not one flower, but a whole fresh bouquet….subtle and just a little bit earthy (musk?). Yes, this is similar to “Ecume de Rose”, however the lavender dominates over the rose, without being too masculine. If you like a spritz of lavender like I do this could be your ticket.

Innisfree is a favorite everyday scent, one that I wear with my jeans in the winter and shorts in the summer. It is one of those fragrances that is fresh and pleasant and not particularly complicated or complex. I always like my florals grounded in wood, and the sandalwood and cedar keep it grounded on me. Innisfree is a most pleasant scent, and one my husband also likes on me.

This is my mother s signature. She is over 60 and she has been using this one for more than 10 years. It is always very hard to get it so nobody else smells like her in our country 🙂 The scent is excellent on her.
nikita_aleks – :
On me this was a very masculine leather/moss fragrance, not unlike English Leather. It started powdery and settled into this. My grandfather wore English Leather. This is not what I want so smell like. Maybe my sample was bad?
Eaxavier – :
My mother had a bottle of this and so of course I had to spray some on. I’m not sure if it’s just my chemistry or if the perfume is poorly designed but all I got was iris and cedar. Personally I’m not a big fan of iris, so that was a big turn off. I got none of the top notes, there was no fruitiness or sweet tartness to this whatsoever. It was very harsh and soapy, like an acne astringent.
It was cheaply made and you can tell when you smell it on the skin. Very drugstore smell, no, worse.
NeftEvittee – :
The notes in this perfume sound so wonderful I couldn’t wait until my bottle came. When first put on, it was very sharp and bitter almost to the point of yuck. Seems I have smelled this before on my Great Grandmother’s vanity. I am not sure if the lemon is the note creating this smell, normally lemon is fresh and citrusy. Not going to give up on this one just yet, still waiting for the floral fruity part. You would think the peach and apricot would show through. Maybe the dry down will win me over. Just got it from the mail carrier so wondering if it is because this perfume got warm? More to come…
Finally, it has been about an hour since I put this on and now it is really nice. On me, really fresh and I can smell the wood base notes. Still not fruity at all. I do like it, but you have to give it a chance!
