What a gorgeous scent, so comfortable to wear. The mix sandalwood and lavender brings a very clean and soapy vibe while the Cinnamon deliverers a warm spicy aura, the touch of ginger gives a kick of spiciness. Beautiful clean comfortable and uplifting.

The original Crabtree and Evelyn Mysore Sandalwood that everyone raves about shows up on eBay now and again in full bottles and decants. The full bottle listed now is going for $350, but I got a 5ml decant for $22, which I am now wearing. This is a complex scent on me. The fragrance opens with a blast of astringent sandalwood and lavender that might be off-putting for a woman. However, two hours later, it is the creamiest, warmest sandalwood I have ever smelled, and perfectly unisex. The cinnamon here is really delicious and adds to the comforting nature of sandalwood. Although longevity is only a few hours, projection is 1-2 feet and I’ve garnered several compliments wearing this. If you are a lover of sandalwood, seek out the true Mysore formulation.

I bought this one when my husband was running out of his signature C&E Sandalwood. As soon as I smelled it on him, I knew it wasn’t the same thing he’d been using. It can’t hold a candle to the now discontinued C&E Sandalwood or the older and now impossible to find C&E Mysore Sandalwood (I have a partial bottle that I use sparingly in hopes of always having it available). I understand that they’re trying to fill a need and keep their customers happy. It’s not bad but sandalwood isn’t the star of this one. It has a slightly ‘woodsy’ scent but it doesn’t smell like the true sandalwood smell I first fell in love with as a child. It starts out more pungent and spicy then quickly fades into nothingness. It isn’t even a ‘skin scent’ after an hour or so. It’s just gone. As soon I realized they’d changed the scent to this, I went online and bought every EDT, shower gel, shaving cream and shaving soap I could find in the now discontinued TRUE sandalwood.

I got a sample of the original Mysore fragrance off of eBay after telling the seller of my desire for a sandalwood scent. Not only did this not disappoint, but I have found no other sandalwood scent that even approximates its quality. Frankly, I had no idea it was marketed as a men’s scent. It was one of the creamiest, yummiest things I’ve ever worn. Sillage was small but it kept me smelling my wrist all day. I wore it through a Scottish winter and wonder what I wouldn’t do to smell it again.

this frag has been reformulated. Its original name was Mysore Sandlewood. but since Mysore is rare and expensive..it was re formulated. The original(Mysore) was a much more deep, longer lasting scent. I believe the reform was done prob around 15yrs ago or more. Too bad..it was great. This frag is fine for everyday use and is quite pleasant.

This is very relaxed, breezy, and my personal (2nd) favorite from the brand! Although the performance is bad per the style of the brand.
I get more cypress/sandalwood with cinnamon/lavender in the supporting role instead of what is shown here.

I really am taken by this. It has an air of undeniable elegance – like a very expensive soap or room spray. Evocative of walking into a Crabtree & Evelyn shop in fact. Something of a temptation if passing.
Quite a fresh opening which develops into light woody, spicy notes. Something of a chamomile feel about the florals . The sandalwood is definitely there – just quietly so – contributing a subtle smokey-wood to a somewhat soapy dry down. Combines really well with the lavender.
Sillage and longevity are typically poor for most scents in this IFRA age. So, I’m not of the opinion this is especially bad. Just that I believe a skin scent an hour post-application (which is what I’m experiencing) in warm summer weather is pretty typical. But obviously personal and environmental factors play into the longevity of this in a big way.
This is always and without fail complimented when worn. I would say with some certainty it is perfect for romantic, formal, even sombre situations – interviews, funerals, or should misfortune so strike, a court appearance. Concerning the latter, your council could at least demonstrate you to be a person of discretion and irreproachable taste. (Must count for something in your favour).
I often spray my palms before lights-out, when a restful aura descends and engulfs me in the moments prior to sleep. Apart from the common flaw of longevity (which is especially regrettable), this is otherwise exquisite. Already re-purchased – which speaks for itself.

Just because this isn’t typical of a sandalwood perfume, doesn’t mean it doesn’t smell like sandalwood, because it does. The sandalwood manifests itself differently here, a very laid back cologne approach with aromatic woods and gentle spicing. Generally its calming lavender and clean vetiver with a hinted at, creamy wooden heart which is more soapy than anything else.
I like it but can’t say it’s the most exciting or well composed example of the Sandalwood genre. The performance was pretty dire too and was all but gone far too quickly.

It’s good but not what I was expecting from a sandalwood. The only problem for me is I get an almost aniseed hint from it. I received a Crabtree & Evelyn gift set containing cologne, shave cream, balm and shower gel.
The shaving cream is preferred as the scent is more subtle.
Definitely a spring time fragrance. It’s quite cloying but doesn’t project too much. Sophisticated and spicy.
It’s a Sandalwood scent that borders on the medicinal, a little like D.R Harris’ Sandalwood offering. A complete contrast to Trumpers Sandalwood which is overwhelmingly fruity.

A nice, affable, well made cologne that actually smells closer to the scent of genuine, aged sandalwood than most sandalwood fragrances professing to contain real sandalwood or feature it as an accord. Smells like its earlier incarnation (with the “Indian” scene on the box), with the tenacious meaty cinnamon note replaced with something cleaner. Perfectly competent, longevity and sillage are only average at best I’m afraid. Worthwhile having in your wardrobe as a pleasant palate cleanser and “day off” cologne, but good enough in its own right. If you can, get the one in the “Indian scene” box for something a little richer and longer lasting.

Tested it expecting it to be like the original, but it’s different, spicier, less sharp, and more soapy. Lavender and cinnamon. It is yummy, got about three hours from it.
