Take the iris note that is in the Zegna Florentine iris.. make it fleet footed/airier with some citrus vs the ponderous version in Zegna. That is the wonderful opening of this thing. The middle part has the ‘iris’ that you can find in Penhaligon’s Iris Prima, but none of its powdery..ness, it always remains ‘airy’ but ‘there’. It has a similar “base”/drydown to Special 127, but again in a much airier/fleetfooted way. An impressive ‘iris’ take on a cologne, with the longevity of an edt. Very elegant.
Not feminine to me. It doesn’t have a ‘lipstick’ scent, maybe now a then a slight ‘powderiness’ but never prominent. I don’t detect much if any carrot-y ness..
