Woah! Immortal is mossy…very much like dewy, wet moss. I’d describe it as a Forrest floor with a few florals peeping through.
Interesting stuff…but I couldn’t wear this its not at all my cup of tea.

This actually has quite an old-school feel to it in that it’s a woody base with a hefty clump of moss. The florals listed are relatively transparent, serving mainly to shade the darker, coniferous and syrupy notes to bring about a dead leaf effect similar to CBIHP’s Burning Leaves (sans smoke). Some grassy notes emerge through the moss, leading the way for the welcome surprise visit of thick, fatty violets. De Profundis came to mind as an analog here, but Immortal uses honeysuckle to sweeten the blend as opposed to the Lutens in which a dirt effect is deployed. This one’s probably the most traditional from the line, yet it can still be read as a modern exercise in genre—one that bends the rules by going off in other directions. A solid enough fougere that hints at history without being too much of a throwback.
