This was my first perfume during college. I really loved this scent so much but I’m not sure that I can still get this in the market. I’m not sure if they discontinue. This is really good. really girly scent, fruity and sweet. I miss this! 🙂

This is my 10 top perfumes, and I haven’t got a heart to throw away the bottle yet, after all these years, I hope and pray that I one day will be the lucky owner of a new bottle =))

I bought this few weeks ago from someone who didn’t know what a treasure she was selling. I haven’t smelled this over 10 years. I remember when my mother had a sample of it and I instantly fell in love. So sweet but fresh, strawberries, fresh sparkling water, green forest, fresh tropical fruits all at once. Then years and years I searched this and finally found it. Now I like to wear something more sophisticated and more deep grown scents but I still love this. Ibiza Hippie is sexy, flirty, light and beautiful, but not tacky at all. It’s cheerful summer nights at the beach, misty night breeze touching your tanned skin.
I don’t really like any other Escada scents. This one I love, deeply.

Ibiza hippie is uplifting, fruity and sweet.
It’s discontinued but I’ve found a very similar one.
    Trini Girl by Nicki Minaj.
The bottle is scary but it has very similar scent! I bought 100ml bottle yesterday. I don’t need to worry about running out of my last bottle of Ibiza hippie.

This is a really good vacation fragrance. Do you like to bring perfume with you when you travel? I do. I love this for summer destinations: the titular Ibiza island, the Caribbean, the Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Aruba, Hawaii. This is as others have pointed out such a tropical island perfume. It’s not unisex despite the musk, and it has a big fruity floral body which was tailor made for the hippie beach girl who wears oversized sunglasses, usually has a guy to apply sun tan lotion on her and loves to sprawl herself on a beach towel and bask in the sun or by a pool on a chair. Laid back and lovely.
This is fruity at the first spritz. I get all the fruit notes of peach, pear, currant, cranberry, and litchi. It’s pretty juicy like a cocktail drink. The cranberry and currant are the big notes. A bit too much fruit but so delicious and summery.
The rest of the time I smell the light florals of white freesia flowers. The dry down is slightly musky but mostly amber. It has a polished dry down like it boils down to a very clean and golden creamy amber. This is a gourmand fragrance as well. I would drink this liquid if I could.
    Sweet

This is a very sexy scent. It does smell like a seaside resort on an island not necessarily Ibiza – it can be any island from Hawaii to Aruba. It’s mostly fruity. It has a cassis or cassia grape scent when it opens, then peach and pear. Delicious sweet fruit and that fruity smell doesn’t go away as it takes over the first hour. On me this lasted 3-4 hours. It has cranberry as well and in fact it blends well with the litchi scent and the amber which is gooey and sticky-sweet. The hyacinth is the only flower I could smell. It has only 2 floral notes of hyacinth and freesia so right away it’s not very flowery. The sandalwood is also very fragrant and smells like wood from a campfire at the beach. Woodsy/ambery and fruity. Love it. It can still be found on ebay from sellers but it’s been discontinued. This is a summer perfume and I can’t wear to wear it this summer when I’m out at the beach on the yacht or on cruises to the Caribbean. This is unisex too because it’s really just a simple fruity tropical beach scent.

There’s a yoghurt flavor called “fruitbomb” in my country and that would also be an appropriate name for this scent, though I guess it would be a stark contrast to peace-loving Ibiza hippies. This one manages not to be full-on screechy plastic teenybopper fruit, and for some reason it is not cloying. I’m a bit surprised. It reads cool and refreshing to my nose. I can see why people are so upset that it is discontinued.

Imagine you are sitting on an island beach, smelling the sea breeze and tanning. Then imagine at night you are partying in the seaside.
This is how Ibizza Hipie sounds to me.
I had a small one 10 years ago, and unfortunaely I cannot find it where I live.
It’s unfortunate that Escada perfumes are no longer interesting. The summer perfumes now are like juice-exactly. The Cherry one is a catastrophe.

Ibiza Hippie is a sweet fruity floral scent of distinctive grapes, cranberry, litchi, peach, hyacinth flower and amber. I first wore this IN Ibiza Island when I turned 21. This fragrance always takes me back to that time when I was younger and partying my ass off. It smells like a party too, a tropical island party where there are fires at the beach, blankets, and people wearing next to nothing. It’s got sweet fruits out of which the cranberry is the dominant note. I think the color of the bottle, a fuchsia red color also matches the smell which is like a cranberry scent. The hyacinth flower is very noticeable and it smells feminine and just the slightest bit formal like even though she’s having a good time she is aware that she is NOT a hippie and is only partying with beach bums for a weekend before she has to fly back home and turn back into a serious minded workaholic. Love this fragrance. For a while it was my signature scent and embodied my personality. Now it’s only a nostalgia perfume. It smells so good and it’s still selling on ebay and other websites. It’s good stuff if you like fruity floral scents.

I bought this at the local BX while living in Okinawa. This was the perfect ‘island’ perfume: beautiful, fun, sparkling. The notes I most noticed – and loved – were the blackcurrant, hyacinth, amber, sandalwood, and the musk. It also had a green scent that wasn’t too dark, and it went perfectly with a time in my life that was full of bright emerald and turquoise waters, and bright, hot sunlight. It’s a fun, light-hearted fragrance. Not very sexual, in my opinion.
I found this perfume was not too heavy or cloying, for a semi-tropical island – but it is definitely a perfume that made itself known. It went very well with everything, from flip-flops and cut-offs, to a formal gown at a military ball.
I used the entire bottle, plus two bottles of the scented lotion. If I had realized it was limited edition (I somehow missed that part), I would have bought a few more bottles.

I just became a fragantica member today and this is my first review. And it is on the first perfume I have worn, it was a gift for my 15th bday and I can remember till this day how much I loved it. Thanks to this perfume my love for perfume was born.(and died years later thnx to 2 pregnancies, but now it is alive again) I am searching the web to see if I can find it and order it.my first perfume love, and let me tell you, escada’s summer editions nowadays smell nothing like the older ones. Well atleast to me. Wish I could smell this some time again.

Visited a fragrance oil shop that specialized in remaking trademark fragrances and discovered this one on accident. It’s been discontinued.
Great female fragrance. Its slightly musky like a light incense. Top 3 of mine.

To me al the escada summer fragrances smell too much alike. They were part of my high school perfumes, sweet and fruity. Very young, girly scent! Love the pear in it.

Smells like strawberry on me. Pretty one dimensional and doesn’t last too long. I don’t dislike it though.

Fall, Spring and Summer evenings for this one! I don’t care for the regular Escada, but I love this fragrance. It’s very clean but not overly fruity, powdery or sweet(like La Vie Est Belle and others). I recently wore this during a Fall afternoon outing and received compliments. Enjoy!

This has got to be the best Escada LE perfumes. Years ago, I own the 50ml bottle and gotten a 100ml a week after! It has a lovely blackcurrant and litchi opening that settles down to a sweet and addictive cranberry, amber, sandalwood with a musky undertone that makes it smells sexy! I wonder why they re-released Rockin’ Rio, Island Kiss and Pacific Paradise but not this! I only own Ibiza Hippie, Island Kiss and decided not to own anymore.
Dupe: I did found a dupe for this which is the Morgan Love De Toi
It is not an exact dupe but the sandalwood, cherries, musk and some other goodies makes it smells alike.
I’m still waiting for Escada to re-released this one! All the girls will go Hippie! 😉

This was one of my first “real” fragrances. Like many of the others, wish I could smell it again to see what I’d think of it now.
I remember it being sweet, fruity, fun, like many of the Escada perfumes are. Love it!

I used to love this when I was younger. Too bad it’s discontinued as I would love to see what I’d think of it now. Wish they’d bring back Ibiza Hippie, it was my favorite from Escada.

  23. :

Like a reader below, have not been impressed by Escada’s fragrances except for Magnetism. I feel they are weak and over priced. This is probably my second favorite. When I was in my twenties and very much a little hippie, the peach , freesia and cranberry came out on my skin. This is a fun, flirty fragrance suited for teens and young women.

  24. :

    3 out of 5

By far the best Escada Fragrance…I determine how much I really love a fragrance by how many compliments men give me. Back in the day this was my go to fragrance if I needed a boost for the day!

  25. :

    4 out of 5

Top 3 for sure! I love this scent. I wish Escada would bring it back. It’s so fun and feminine. I can’t help but smile when I smell it.

  26. :

    5 out of 5

One of my top 5 fragrances. And I don’t care for Escada much in general. But Ibiza is fruity and fun without being trashy. A hard balance to achieve.

  27. :

Just picked up my second bottle of this scent, it’s amazing. It smells like summer memories; lychee, freesia, red berries and laughter. Although it’s not explicitly mentioned, there’s also this floral tea-like undertone that renders this scent so lovely and delicious.
It’s fruity, juicy, so natural and youthful, slightly fizzy, tart and my favourite Escada. Like playing at the beach with warm golden sun rays, fruity concoctions, summer love and best friends. Nothing else comes close and I absolutely adore this stuff.

My aunt first bought this for me when I was 17/18 yrs old & I have been addicted ever since. I just turned 28 & guess what my aunt got me for my birthday…a brand new bottle of this amazing perfume!! I was super excited about! Love, love, love this fragrance. But since it was discontinued it has been a pain trying to find it without giving an arm and a leg.

When I smell this I feel like 17 again – my father bought it for me then. He travels a lot and always used to bring me a little gift he found at the duty free 🙂 I know it is not listed in the notes but I always smell lost of strawberries actually. I also think that out of all the limited edtions that followed after Ibiza Hippie – this one’s still the best.
PS: I really want a bottle of this again. Ah, the memories…

I bought the mini sample of this on ebay and I honestly wasnt too impressed with this scent. The opening is really sharp on me and when the scent starts to stop smelling as sharp (after the opening), then it begins to fade away so quickly.

Perfect for warm summer nights. A great fruity and fun scent.

this was also my first ever Escada purchase and it was so fun to wear. It’s a happy and sweet scent, definitely not grown up or serious. It wears its name very well. I would keep a bottle in my closet just to remember it now and again.

This was one the first fragrance from Escada that I purchased. I LOVED it!!! I went thru 2 bottles. Wish that they would bring this fragrance back again.

I remember purchasing this in late summer 2003. Was my first perfume purchase, that wasn’t a drug store buy. I was 33 at the time. It was all I wore, and the compliments were constant. First thing my now hubby said to me when we met, was how great I smelled. Many, many memories attached to this!!
So glad I found this sight, and was able to read reviews, and find links online to purchase. Can’t wait for my delivery. Some things are definitely worth the money!

My ALL-time favorite scent…I wish they would bring it back, it is so hard to find. I agree too…there is nothing floral about this. Sweet, fruity and tropical. I absolutely LOVE this! I liked VioletLilly’s comment on this. Also, I am with Moonlightmile, does anyone know of a scent LIKE this that is available now in 2012?? Thanks!

The best of Escada if I remember correctly. It has been a longh time since I last had the opportunity to smell this delightful scent. I has a set of escada including this and this was my favorite. The second best was rocking rio and the rest I don’t remember so I guess I didn’t like them. If I remember correctly I found this the best because it was more berry than fruity. Either it’s the cranberry that I remember or I caught the scents mixed up and it was another scent in the set.

  37. :

I love this perfume. It’s my first perfume I purchased when it first came out. I love how balanced it is. I wish they would release this one again. I remember wearing this one everyday but now I try to use it on special occasions. If you haven’t purchased from this Escada line, this would be a great one to start with.

  38. :

I think Ibiza Hippie is the most outstanding of all Escada’s annual LE releases. I purchased it in October of the year it came out (2003 maybe?), because here in Southern California it smelled like the perfect autumn scent. While Ibiza Hippie is warm and beachy like all the other Escadas, this one has strong hints of cranberry and an accord that reminds me of pomegranate. Ibiza Hippie feels festive to me, perfect for the Autumn holidays, and it works especially beautifully when the Santa Ana winds fill the chill in the air with their dry hot warmth. I wish Ibiza Hippie would be available again!

The best one out of the Escada summer Limited Ed line .
It has all gone downhill after this one and Pacific Paradise/Island Kiss ( since those two smell the same…but i do like them !) .
I wish Escada would get back to form . I really miss Ibiza Hippie!!
Oh , it lasted too and didnt dissapear after 5 mins. Didnt smell over synthetic to my nose either. The worse offender in this line for that would be “Sunset Heat”.

  40. :

the first perfume i’ve purchased. really really really NICE scent! every notes seems in well balanced. love it 🙂

This scent never gets old for me. Its fruity and subtle. My all time favorite!

  42. :

    4 out of 5

Sorry to those who love this one, but to me it’s an insult to hippies and to Ibiza!! I found it a horrible mix of indistinct synthetic fruit and sneeze-inducing musk. Really didn’t like it at all.

  43. :

    5 out of 5

My favorite scent when I was in high school. now I’m 22 lol but I’d still buy it if it wasn’t discontinued.

  44. :

    3 out of 5

Fruity and sexy at the same time!

  45. :

    5 out of 5

Stupidly fruity floral, apparently made by totally stoned hippies with bad munchies who really really loved fruity florals and thought more fruit would be even better, man, then they got high on coke and put even more fruit in. It mellows out, which is a mercy.
I would call it the apotheosis of fruity florals but I think apotheosis is meant to be good..
I feel I must revise this now. Having tried every other one of these, since, this is the last good Escada in my opinion! The rest since seem to have become even more technicolour vicious psychedelic storm rages of chemical plastic fruit, so Ibiza Hippie now seems properly good in comparison. Perhaps it actually was their apotheosis after all.

  46. :

    4 out of 5

One of the great perfumes from Escada. It’s one of a kind scent for someone who knows what perfume is.

  47. :

    5 out of 5

I loved it when I was 14…I wished to get this one and had it only sprayed on the jean tag you got with it but never had the bottle.I had that tag with me all the time until smell dissappeared 🙂 It smelled peachy to me
Now being 25 I would love to buy the miniature just to remember since I don’t wear so fruity scents anymore.
To be hones, there’s no other Escada I would like since this one was made.
I think they would make a great step if they would release this fragrance again and would have a new generation of young girls who would fall in love with it just like I did.

  48. :

    4 out of 5

This one was really good,i think one of he best summer Escadas ever! a bit too sweet maybe, but in general it was very good for a summer period. Still have an empty bottle of that! And unlike all new versions of summer Escadas it lasted long. My empty bottle still smells very strong!

  49. :

IBIZA HIPPIE is the first real perfume that i’ve used..i remember my high school era when i smell this..the litchi smell so delicious..and the fruity drydown is unforgettable

  50. :

    3 out of 5

Yes it is indeed strange to stop these limited editions! But I think it is a way to speed up sales. Like when everybody knows they are around only for 1 year, people hurry to buy them!

  51. :

    5 out of 5

It’s a crime against humanity that Escada discontinued this fragrace. It’s the best of the whole line IMO. The cranberry, peach and freesia are noticable and I even noticed some blueberry-ish notes. So fun and summery. It’s my husbands favorite scent. Just so nice.

  52. :

this scent is horrid i think its the litchi i do not enjoy this scent at all
    but i still love escada

I picked the perfume out by sniffing only. I knew nothing of Escada at the time or what the scent even was. It was just GRAND, and then I found out expensive. Too bad they can’t make a GOOD smelling perfume like this last as long as some of the dollar store perfumes! I have a small bit left and will enjoy the last this next summer.

  56. :

I LOVE this perfume! Does anyone have any recommendations of other perfumes with a similar punchy, fruity smell???

Fizzy sweet strawberries and tart, juicy cranberries with a slight musky dry-down. Feels like I’m lounging in a deck chair sipping a fruity champagne cocktail – laid-back and carefree! But Sexy Graffiti is the one for me…I love the sparkling pineapple strawberry with softly rounded woods.

  59. :

    4 out of 5

Along the lines of all of Escadas wonderful juicy scents. Smelling Ibiza hippie makes you want to go to Ibiza and well.. be a hippie! It like a cold, sweet, juicy peach. Then you the light bitterness of the cranberry really blended with a floral, Im guessing its freesia. It really makes you imagon being all oiled up drinking fruity coctails on a fantastic trendy beach.
