Description
Austrian artist Nana de Bary launched her new fragrance line Liaison de Parfum, which consists of four poetically named perfumes: Stay With Me, I Dare You, Resist Me and No Matter What. The inspiration for these fragrances comes from love of life and its many faces – desire, intimacy, passion and friendship. The line was conceived in Vienna and produced in France, using old techniques of perfume making.
I Dare You teases with notes of vetiver and amber, made for those who are willing to risk. It represents the scent of individualists. Its woody – leather composition begins with citruses, and hot and cool spices. The heart notes include sandalwood, patchouli and vetiver, laid on the base of oud, leather and amber.
The bottles are simple, clean and logo-free, inscribed with a quote that had inspired each of the perfumes.
I Dare You was launched in 2013.

I thought Resist Me was sexy enough, but this is steaming hot! It makes me imagine rolling out of bed, snuggling up in my boyfriend’s sweater and smelling traces of his cologne on it after he’s gone to work. I only wish I had a boyfriend who smelled like this!
I notice only trace amounts of oud and leather. They are rather tame, which is not what you might expect from those notes, but it works out beautifully with the dark, oriental amber. I love the spice in this perfume. I think there is nutmeg in it, which sort of reminds me of Pink Nanadebary. I Dare You is Pink’s naughty, sexy cousin.
It’s just a gorgeous perfume, a bottle of which I must own.

Leans very masculine. Oud, oud, more oud wrapped in leather and spices. There is a warmth and a sophistication that keeps it from being too hippie dippie, but I can see where this might cross over into the realm of scents those sensitive to patchouli would strongly dislike. It projects to a “noticable” range and isn’t going anywhere soon once on the skin. Although I do enjoy smelling this on myself, I would prefer smelling it on a man, I think. Preferably whilst tangled up on a bearskin rug in a cabin in winter next to a roaring fire. It’s -that- kind of scent!

Well. I never laughed after trying a perfume before. To use a euphemism, it smelled like a Jimmy Buffett concert. I thought the name is quite cheeky (as its not something you’d want to apply in your car or anywhere near a uniformed officer). But eventually the parrots did fly away, and I’m left with a gorgeous warm, buttery, spicy drydown. I do also get a leather note, but it’s subjugated by sweetness.

This is a dare that works in your favor as long as you understand that this is NOT a leather fragrance. As the spices assault my nose, Eau de Tommi Sooni I immediately comes to mind. The spicy aroma is met with a cacophony of amber, patchouli, and sandlewood. Although spicy, the blend is very pleasant with layers of woody undertones. The oud is slightly damp as it establishes itself to be one of the main pillars here. The finish is smooth and rounds out with a balanced coffee drydown. I don’t throw this phrase around too often but this is blind buy worthy.
