Description

Danielle Ryan presents her new AFRICA COLLECTION which belongs to the house of ROADS and includes four fragrances: I AM DANCE, BIG SKY, PAST/PRESENCE and AFROPOLIS. The collection will be available starting from October 2015 and is constructed as ‘collaboration of cultures, where inspirational African ingredients are combined under the influence of literature, art and dance’.

I AM DANCE is inspired by freedom of African dance and includes such notes as lemon, mandarin and marine chords, overlapping apple, pineapple and lavender in the heart. The base provides warmth from amber, cedar and patchouli.

The fragrances of ROADS African Collection will be available in boxes decorated by African artists.

This is a complete clone of Invictus. But a very high quality version. MUCH better scent wise but exactly the same.
If you like Invictus but are put off by the overly synthetic vibe, this is perfect for you. Good projection and sillage. Very intoxicating but a clone.
I never bought Invictus due to when spraying it on it comes off as synthetic upon inspection and the bottle is hideous. This has a nice bottle and is high quality.

Ill probably get it next summer.

At first spray, I thought this scent was just way too masculine for me. I don’t mind masculine, but this was sharp cologne-y type smell I just thought would *not* work. Luckily, if you give the frag a few minutes to settle in, it really mellows out. The citrus notes are really softened by the pineapple and apple, and you can tell those other two are there! They really created a nice dimensionality to the citrus scent that you don’t often get. The fragrance is also not sweet at all — this is mostly the juice of the fruit, not sweet fruit, not bitter fruit, but just a slightly acidic, delicious fruit. Those notes really reminded me of a not-as-sweet Bal d’Afrique. I feel like this perfume mostly disappeared after the heartnotes, there wasn’t much of the drydown in it, which means it didn’t seem that long lasting, BUT, the base notes definitely round out the fruit notes.
