I don’t smoke, but I love this fragrance. It smells so exotic to me. Old times, big ships, wild countries… Ny fantasy can’t stop:)

An unlit tobacco smell. I was very excited to find this one.

This is one of my favorites of all time! I am a woman and I have saved a teeny bit in a bottle for years just to be able to sniff this when I want because it lifts my spirits so much. Longevity is not that great- a few hours at most. It smells just like mentholy cloves- sweet and fresh and vibrant.

While I prefer This is Not a Pipe, this is my husband’s favorite cologne. Sweet cured tobacco leaves, spice and nice woody cedar note. A great scent for those who don’t like the after-shave geranium and lavender mens’ fragrances, but still want a little something to smell good.

I want to like this, as I’ve been looking for a good cigar tobacco fragrance, and this is well priced. I certainly get the tobacco and the cloves that people mention, but I don’t have to be wearing it long before I get a yen for barbecue sauce on pork ribs. That will be the cloves, inexorably bonded in my mind with pork dishes, but there might also be a suggestion of some sweet hickory smoke, and there you have the sauce. I won’t throw it away, as it’s not repellent, just not what I’m looking for in a personal fragrance. Might serve as a kitchen room fragrance.

This smells exactly like a walk-in glass cigar humidor like the ones you find in nice bookstores.
You would think there would be very few places one could wear this but it’s untrue! This can be layered with other fragrances to add a rich moist tobacco note.

This is such a clean tobacco scent! I waxed poetic about my grandpa’s pipe collection on my review for Demeter’s “This Is Not A Pipe” -and truly, that one is a great tobacco scent, too, sweet and very rich- but “Humidor” is something altogether different. It smells sooo good on everyone I’ve sprayed it on, male and female. Willing and unwilling. It’s not too sweet, not too thick, it’s just perfect. Very “fresh” but not sharp. Comfortable, but not smothering.
This is just light enough to wear almost anytime, I feel. May not be heavy enough for the crowds at night, but I bet layered up with something it would be. This seems like a perfect scent for a professional setting or just a casual outing. Very non-invasive.
I might be biased, though. 😉
Edit: the spray is good, but the roll-on seems better. In case anyone was wondering.
2nd Edit: Every time I come back to this scent I am struck by the image it evokes of a very bespoke gentleman. I didn’t think I’d like “ozone” notes, but it gives this mix a very clean, cool, open vibe instead of that heavy, comfy-chair-JRR Tolkien feel the other tobacco scents have. It doesn’t really suit my bf’s personality, but it does give an interesting kick to my fantasies! 🙂

Sweet and tobacco. Maybe swisher sweets but more like Djarum Black Clove cigarettes. It lingers faintly. I have no idea when it’s appropriate to wear this but I bought it anyway.

More complex than other Demeter frags (two dominant notes instead of one) and with better stick and projection. Ignore the initial spiky blast of alcohol and then enjoy the pleasantly fruity tobacco and spicy cedar heart. Curiously, there is no whiff of whiskey, tar, or uncured green leaf commonly found in tobacco scents. I layer this over a sandalwood or amber absolute to give it a legitimate drydown, otherwise it has none.
Humidor lacks the richness and perhaps intimacy its name may imply, but is well suited for outdoor activity in cool weather. One of the few original non-gourmand Demeter formulations apparently left unmolested after Brosius left the company.
