I should say I have been a patchouli hater for many years until I find the right ones, like Reminiscence Patchouli or some powdery patchoulis where they are well blended. This is a patch scent first and foremost but it is not the dirty hippie vibe. It is complex and mutates on the skin through all of the notes. I like it a lot. On me, this is intense patchouli but dry and herbal in the top with a hint of honey sweetness then gets complex with amber and ambergris and some cedar and sandalwood; lasted through the night to end up with a musky skin scent on my arm in the morning, projects well.
