Description

This limited edition invites us to travel to the East where wood of Oud, powerful, dark and mysterious, is coveted.
This woody fragrance that combines sweetness and complexity is inspired by secular rituals in the Middle East.

Graphite Oud opens with fruity notes of raspberry and lychee, supported by a pink mysterious Isfahan.
The floral dimension is growing with Ylang-Ylang which combines rose absolute. A touch of almond also makes this agreement a softer facet.
This composition is enhanced by its base notes, warm and captivating, composed of oud and vetiver.
An alliance of mystical materials to an almost animal results.

Graphite Oud Edition was launched in 2014.

This offering had all the potential to be a rose “H” bomb due to it’s construction, but settles for an “A” bomb instead, as far as projection and sillage is concerned, feeling more moderate than heavy. That said, I’m not going to budge the slider. You guys can decide for yourselves. I’m also not getting a whole lot of oud here despite the fragrance name, so keep that in mind before making a blind buy.
Guys, this one’s got our name on the box, but be forewarned…if you don’t feel comfortable with extreme floral notes, you’re gonna be miserable with this one. If you’re still curious about rose, but are yet to own a rose based scent, I’d suggest trying Ungaro III or maybe Azzaro Acteur as a trial run, then moving to this later, due Graphite Oud’s more unisex nature.
As far as quality is concerned, I’m fairly impressed. No Niche quality here, but for the price point, you get a pretty fresh rose up front. As the scent wears on, it gets more powdery and a litte more masculine, but the rose never goes away.
The stock photos of Montanna Graphite Oud Edition are misleading. The cap and leather band are brown, not black.

I really like the original Graphite. I thought this one would be in the same vibe, but it doesn’t agree with me. It’s rather feminine due to the roses. I wear some feminine labeled perfumes, but I really dislike roses in fragrances. Projection (over 4 feet)and longevity are 10+ hours on clothes. The cap was leaking a bit and I used a towel to clean it up, and the bathroom smelled roses and oud the next day still. I guess I found a use for it now.

A bit synthetic but really a nice juice.
Oud here is not that oriental, it is rosy slight powdery, not offensive one.
Reminds me Etienne Aigner Oud 1 some how, but this one is more sweet
Could be easily a unisex fragrance. Moderate longivity (4-5 hours on my skin)
A full bottle of 100 ml for 25 euros including shipping costs: Deserves a try.

This is pretty much identical to Mancera Aoud Line which is labeled unisex. This should be also. The Mancera is about 3x the price. Montana has truly hurt their sales by labeling this a male frag.

    COMPLETELY REVISED – I have done a 180
*****LADIES YOU SHOULD TRY THIS FRAGRANCE******
Several months ago I left a scathing review of this. Now I have grown to adore this fragrance. Maybe the bottle needed to open up, or perhaps I was being a complete ass basing my opinion with a tired nose. Whatever the issue was then, it is not now.
This is an excellent slightly dirty rose fragrance with fruity nuances creeping in. Ultimately a rooty vetiver joins the party and the fragrance starts to develop a wonderful powdery quality. It lasts for many hours and always smells divine.
The icing on the cake was when my lovely wife wore the fragrance. It worked with her chemistry so well that neither of us could believe it. From more than 100 designer and niche fragrances, this is now in her top 5, it is that good. A STEAL on Ebay.
    7.5/10 on me
    9.5/10 on wife

This has elements of two fragrances I own; Byredo’s Pulp and Dupont Rose et Oud.
It has a slight overripe fruit note on the initial spray that reminds me of the former, and a lingering dry woody synthetic oud from the latter.
Overall it maintains its own character and the similarities to Pulp vanish quickly, while the lingering woody oud sustains itself with decent longevity and projection. It is not as dry as Dupont’s Rose et Oud, favoring a more fresh cut roses accord, and seems slightly more powdery on the drydown. Great stuff overall.

Montanas’ Graphite Oud is everything one would and should expect from Parfums Montana. Quality with a twist – especially considering the regular version of Graphite. Not to demean the regular version, which is, easily as enjoyable. The Oud version gives off a spark and does a great job at it.
The longevity is what someone should expect from a Fragrance evoking “OUD.” It is long-lasting and linear (in a very good way). To follow, this was something I found delightful – the linear aspect. Although not complex in the sense the Fragrance will not have ups and downs or drastically change on you. The first spray, is and will be what the scent truly is, for many hours. Oud and Rose done well.

This fragrance leans feminine. I can smell some kind of fruity “juiciness” to it, but the overall impression is more juicy/wet than candy sweet.
The original Graphite wasnt anything impressive to me, an oddly stale, dry-woody scent in the vein of Mauboussin’s M Generation, but this oud edition features a prominent, smooth, synthetic oud note, similar to the one found in Floris’ Leather Oud and Versace Oud Noir. Its not as creamy as Versace Oud Noir or some others, but it is pretty smooth, and totally devoid of the traditional harsh notes that can come with oud.
There are prominent florals being carried by the silky oud. The overall impression is very classy and it would make a fantastic scent for a night out, especially on a woman. Great performance for an EDT, I get 8 hours easily. Unfortunately, it was ultimately too feminine for me so I passed it on.

Ok I finally found what this scent is if they’d made the Rose fresh instead of dry and that’s S.T. DuPonts Oud & Rose. This is what I wanted in Oud & Rose, don’t get me wrong I love the dry Rose in S.T. DuPont its very different but the freshness in Montana Oud is even better. This is two fragrance’s in one! The second being Dior’s Ispahan, yep i said Dior’s Ispahan….the fresh Rose in Ispahan dry down is the same as Montana Oud and it’s at a lesser price point. This is by no chance a cheap fragrance that Montana has released, it is very high quality being that it has the DNA of two of the most known fragrances in perfume community. Blind buy worthy!!!
