Description

Givenchy launches a new fragrance for men in 2013. Gentlemen Only is a modern homage to the classic fragrance of the house – Givenchy Gentlemen from 1974. This fragrance was once revolutionary amongst masculine fragrance introducing strong and intense woody notes instead of the traditional aromatic and citrusy ones.

Gentlemen Only is intended to men of our times; it is designed around modern woody nuances. The composition opens with fresh and spicy accords of green mandarin, pink pepper, nutmeg and birch leaves. Deep and intense woody character is provided by the heart of cedar, patchouli and vetiver. The base captures incense and animalistic notes.

The face of this Givenchy perfume is Australian actor Simon Baker. The fragrance is available as 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette with additional after shave lotion, deodorant in spray and in stick.
The nose behind this fragrance is Jean Jacques.

An absolutely gorgeous and long lasting fragrance. Violets, vetiver, pepper, fruits and musk. Beautifully blended. I just can’t stop sniffing myself!

    Such a wonderful product
No matter where I go I always get asked what I’m wearing and getting compliments . If you truly want to start making women turn and approach you this is the product

Very easy to wear fragrance. It smells clean, fresh, citrus.
I like the fragrance, the only thing I don´t love about it is the pink pepper, I think they should have left that out because the combination of the notes especially in the opening are VERY good except for the spice the pink pepper brings. I would give this a 7.5/10 because of the pepper, other than that it would be a 9/10.

The opening of this fragrance is sweet and earthy. I get hints of green mandarin and nutmeg, while the notes of vetiver and pink pepper are the main players. It reminds me off a lighter version of Lush Karma. The dry down loses its sweetness which I actually prefer. This is where the musk, cedar and nutmeg come alive and continues on with the fragrance’s earthy and herbal nature. The projection and longevity of this fragrance is on the weak side. However due to this shortfall in performance, I feel this fragrance is well suited for formal events if you want to appear elegant in a subtle way. Overall this is one of my favourite designer fragrances and I couldn’t recommend it enough.

I never tried the fragrance. I own the after shave Balm. Excelent balm. The best I ever tried.

This is actually a great gentlemanly scent! It’s not to powerful and its fresh, smooth and consistent. It’s perfect for work, daytime and date night! I give this a 9.2/10.

It doesn’t have that mysterious and effervescent smell anymore. It smells more like a generic drug store office fragrance.

  8. :

    4 out of 5

The opening is overwhelmingly pink pepper with a weird mix of vetiver and other notes. There is something sickeningly synthetic about the way it all mixes and projects. I’m waiting for the magic to happen on the dry-down because it’s starting to give me a headache and a bit of nausea. It’s almost like I’ve been playing with drug-store cologne samples and spritzed one too many. I may need a shower soon.—Yuck!

A friend let me borrow his bottle to test out. A fresh aquatic note with some wood in the base. Maybe a little citrus. I get the pink pepper and vetiver. While it doesn’t smell like nag champa there is a kind of smokey, musky incense similar to Bleu de Chanel or Acqua di Gio Profumo. In fact, I find GO is styled similarly to Bleu de Chanel. A bit of that typical cologne vibe.
This smells clean and collected; like the wearer isn’t trying too hard. Pleasant, safe maybe a little boring. Masculine but not decidedly so. Sillage and projection felt about average. Wears nicely in all but the hottest and coldest days of the year. Pretty versatile as well; it won’t offend at work but it’s not really sexy. Lasted a decent six hours before becoming soft. I’m not wowed by the bottle but it’s not ugly. Price isn’t too bad for what you get. GO is a very middle of the road frag for me. I won’t be picking up a bottle but you could do much worse.

very barbershop talc like-i like that smell when i used to go to the barber as a kid.Yet not baby powder-there is a diff.Very manly and sweeter but never cloying.CLASSY.

Really good cheapie. Great for work and casual. This is definitely signature scent worth albeit not being a night out scent.
Longevity is about 7+ hours on skin and projects an arm length then gets closer to the skin after 2-3 hours. It doesn’t become a skin scent until maybe hour 7. Excellent in warm weather so spring and summer certified.

ARMAF has a clone of this called JUST FOR YOU, which I own. You can get it for $25 CAD.
JFY is definitely underpriced and ONE of THE BEST releases from ARMAF. It smells natural – no alcohol burn-off when you spray it. It’s not too loud or too soft – VERY office-friendly but NOT fruity or girly or too “freshy”. The bergamot, mandarin and “vetiver” (although vetiver is not listed) combined with the nutmeg, leathery note & a little touch of incense all come together to solidify this fragrance – it’s not too sweet, not too woody, not too pungent…and it’s projection is modest, which is why it’s good for the office…
Yes, it does clone Givenchy Gentleman Only – and that fragrance is top notch – the incense is a little more pronounced in that one compared to the Armaf – and the opening is a little more dense in the Givenchy as well. JFY is more linear whereas Gentlemen Only noticeably changes from the opening, mid to the drydown.
Givenchy projects for more time (JFY’s projection dies down to a skin scent rather quick – like 0.5 hr but lasts 7+ hrs).
BOTH fragrances are scents for gentlemen – they’re not meant to shout out your presence unless someone walks right by you.

@Uh-umm, this is definitely a sleeper fragrance and one of, if not my favorite designer scents. I love this and will always have this little gem in my collection.

  14. :

Nice & clean scent good for daily use but not a masterpice like givenchy gentleman of 1974 was! Today scents are less complexe than 70’s scents! The nose behind is francis kurdjkian.

  15. :

    3 out of 5

I agree with the accords listed, I will add that the fragrance is light, rather than thick.
I have casual chic on the other arm, I find that one more fresh and deodorant like, but still a lovely blend.
    This is smooth and cool.
I imagine possibly unisex on the right person too.
Quiet, reserved, private (on the softer side sillsge) but no less attractive.
I cannot yet comment on the longevity as I’ve not long sprayed it, it’s a stinking hot humid day.

  16. :

    3 out of 5

Underrated. The evolution of this scent is phenomenal. In the same category as BDC EDP. The aquatic top notes are heavenly, and the incense and vetiver makes for a great dry down. Honestly, don’t get why it isn’t talked about often again, underrated and easily a favorite. You can never over spray this cologne. Also the cap is made out of real metal.

  17. :

Armafs Just for you is a dead ringer for Givenchy Gentlemen only. It’s not synthetic and has about the same performance. I got 4 hrs of projection and I can still smell it 14 hrs later.

  18. :

    3 out of 5

This one is a unisex in my eyes. It sure has some typically masculine notes, but the slightly aromatic yet fresh and clean feeling it gives can be easily pulled off by a woman!
It is unlike anything I have ever smelled. Great for spring and summer aswell as early fall season. Both the sillage and longevity are not very good which is a shame. But if you dont mind re-applying your perfume throughout the day you should really test this one out.
GREETINGS FROM THE CZECH REPUBLIC! 🙂

I NEED NEED NEED THIS COLOGNE. This is my definition of clean laid back and distinctive. I love every stage of it!

Ok this one without a shadow of a doubt will be knocking one of my beloved favorite fragrances off the perch in my scent profile. Just trying to decide which I have to say goodbye to. This Givenchy Gentlemen Only is so easy for me to wear & almost signature worthy in my opinion. Something about it was so laid back. I originally went to Macy’s to see if I was missing out on anything as far as Dior HOMME Eau (another must-have)and Prada LHome Eau were concerned then ended up being captivated by the Givenchy Gentlemen Only. So that says a lot.

  21. :

This one is really nice for a spicey fragrance, the base note has a nice musky sent.

  22. :

    3 out of 5

Simple and sophisticated. Great unisex fragrance in my opinion. The best part of the fragrance is the drydown.
    10/10.

  23. :

    3 out of 5

Omg I will definitely will be getting this! I finally tested this live at Macy’s and I loved it from start to finish! Something about it said this is “me.” There are great fragrances that have special something’s about them then there are ones that you’re like “this is my attitude and also goes perfectly with my skin chemistry.” And well well well…I see someone comparing it to Jil Sander Feeling Man which is my signature hmmm..

  24. :

    5 out of 5

I have always liked this frag.
A sort of modern future incense.
    A transparent tecno Wood.
    Essential urban classic.
The base notes recall me Sauvage by Dior.
And a bit Jil Sander Feeling Man

  25. :

A safe scent perfect for the office and church. You will offend no one. It smells nice, though it is boring.
One of those scents where people would notice and maybe say that is a nice scent. But would never say I loooooooooove what you are wearing! What is that fragrance???? I must have it for my boyfriend.
Yes it is nice. Yes it smells generic. Is it worthy of a FB? It can be had for cheap online now. If you have any church functions to go to (church service, wedding, funeral, baptism) this would be my first choice. You would smell nice without drawing unwanted attention to yourself. At a wedding, it’s not about you, it’s about the bride and groom. Wear this then.
If you are running errands and just want to smell nice but inconspicuous, this works for that too.

John Varvatos? No way.. JV is much darker and sweeter and i’d say it’s definitely an oriental, while THIS is a woody/citru-aquatic. Pretty obvious and evident by the color of the juice and bottle in most cases and it’s no different here:)
This much more in the vein of Versace Man Fraiche or Azzaro Chrome Sport; with a different, woodier drydown. Birch which is nice, i like it when i get burnt out on cedar or pine. That is immediately what my nose got upon trying my sample.
    9/10

  27. :

smell like john varvatos for men

  28. :

    5 out of 5

I really like this one! It’s a burst of pink pepper in the opening. And it’s such a nice aromatic smell, something clean and fresh also creamy but never too much spicy. As the first notes fade, the musk woody basenotes kick in but still talking harmonically with the pink pepper and the vetyver. Sometimes i feel it’s a bit synthetic though. IMO this reminds me a well dressed executive in his daily work at the office. It’s kinda mature but in a bright opened up way. This smells pleasant, no one will turn their nose away to this one.

Some bad reviews made me curious about this one.. Let see what will I find.

  30. :

    5 out of 5

Safe blind buy. Nothing special but it is a lovely cologne. For everyday use. Will not offend anybody.

  31. :

    3 out of 5

Yes, it’s pretty generic, but that’s okay if you’re looking for an everyday mainstream fragrance that not going to offend. It opens up with a smooth, slightly muted spiciness that’s nicely balanced with sweet fruity overtones, and there’s nothing not to like about that. The dry down is pretty rapid, about an hour, and although not particularly interesting (I didn’t detect even a hint of the alleged vetiver) it’s nonetheless quite pleasant. However, after a couple of hours the show’s over and all that’s left is a slightly odd, and vaguely unappealing, leathery skin scent. As usual, my gripe is about value for money, and at £66 it should have decent sillage and last longer. Not one I’d buy, but I can see why others would.

    Gentle.Men.Only
I don’t feel that strong musky note or aggressive amber that would make it men’s only. On my skin I can feel gentle patchouli and musk, woodsy notes and then green notes. This scent is almost sweet on the drydown, very yummy. Maybe it’s the mandarin?
This fragrance is inoffensive and beautiful, it’s got the allure that many current ‘fresh-out-of-the-shower’ scent don’t. “Gentlemen Only” is not scrubbed crispy clean and got some sensual twist to it. On the skin it is sexy and classy.
I wish more men would wear it instead of Sauvage by Dior.
PS This fragrance isn’t aggressive ‘look at me!’ type of scent. It is a scent for a confident man who knows how to entice a woman

I remember sniffing this when it came out at Sephora. It was very exspensive so I couldn’t buy it but thought that it still smelled good. Nothing really special, but masculine and nice. Fast forward 4 years later and I now happily own it from buying it cheap on eBay. This fragrance is sweet, woody, mildly smoky, and citrusy. It’s surprisingly not a dark fragrance, goes good in the day and night. it also has an earthy vibe, doesn’t exactly seem like a scent from a Paris name brand. Still a good scent though for modern men or gentlemen. It can be worn for both professional or casual events. Sits kinda close to the skin with little projection though.

Beautiful Woody fragrance. Pleasing to most. Great church type scent or night out. Has great longevity for me. I love this scent. Unique and leaves an impression. I highly suggest it if you have not tried it yet.

If someone remember original Trussardi Uomo from 80’s, and can’t find it anymore, this one is the closest you can get regarding of smell. Very pleasant smell, just make you feel nice, and that’s the best of it.

  36. :

    5 out of 5

This one has a very enjoyable opening and is very noticeable for the first 2 hours, with some complements coming through before it gets to the dry down point when basically stays very close to the skin with a very short sillage and pretty much gone by the end of the day if you don’t refresh it. Not bad but still my favorite from the Gentlemen Only is the Casual Chic flanker.

  37. :

I started with this elegant one like a week ago.
At first i didn’t raise my hopes too high due to many “cold” reviews”, also my first imprison was: “Ok, nice, elegant” not more.(something in the mixture between the fresh and the warm woody notes didn’t come right to me at first sniff, and somehow reminded me with a sophisticated version of YSL l’Homme Libre)
Day after day of wearing it to the office, it grew on me in a “gentlemany” way. I started to understand its quality. It doesn’t make efforts to show off, or to make a strong statement in your face,it acts like a real gentleman who has the elegance, confidence, and doesn’t need to prove anything. Just pure sophistication.
The performance is fine too for what it should do.
Am happy i gave it the right time to show what it really is.

The opening is beautiful and smells somewhat unique, but it dries down to a generic skin scent.

I have a relationship with this fragrance. I had it for over 3 yrs now. This is a non offensive scent if you are into to that thing. I have lotions that projects the same as this. I get a hint of citrus in the opening. You get some woods here with no insense and a little musk. I would discribe this scent as a sweet woodsy fragrance with very soft projection or skin scent. I say this is for spring and summer. This is a lovely scent that lacks a lot a character to be a getelman. With a name like that I would like this scent to smell manly. I do think this scent is unfinnished. I you want something like this I reccomend Dior Homme Eau which is also soft but with some character to it.
    Scent 8/10
Projection 3/10 Great for job interviews and work
Longevity 2/10 2hours of soft soft projection

  41. :

    4 out of 5

The scent is pleasant, yet complex and layered. However, its longevity is a shame: It lasts less than one hour on my skin!?!
What is happening? And I don’t believe mine is a fake.
    Smell : 4 / 5
    Versatility : 4 / 5
    Longevity : 1 / 5
    Projection : 2 / 5

“Burned spicy” is probably the best way to describe the way this fragrance feels. It is classy, elegant and sophisticated, yet modern and youthful. It is the fragrance of a blue shirt, it is the clean cotton on a winter morning, it is the fragrance that makes us love the ordinary and find that fragment of ourselves that settles for the beauty of everyday, simple things, instead of always reaching up.
Gentlemen Only is bringing something else to the fragrance table – a warm fragrance that is not overpowering or “too much”, which is a hard task in the age of The One, DHI and other parfums and inteses that make you anosmic to anything but the power of their scent.
Gentlemen Only is one of the best all-arounds, the only season you cant wear it is the summer. When talking about it being characterless, I have to say only one thing: characterless fragrances are the ones that might be made for everyone, but only a few can wear them and feel like they are a part of them, just like Chanel Egoiste Platinum. They can be everyones, but not everyone can make them seem so personal.
However, this is an utterly forgetable fragrance. I keep putting on ads for decanting and selling of GGO, only to be reminded of how beautiful it is when I grab the box and smell it. Thats why I say this is “signature or nothing” fragrance, and it grieves me to say that, even though I love it, it is not a fragrance that I can call my winter signature, it just isnt the one that makes me anticipate colder months so that I can wear it, but it sure as hell came in close.

I absolutely love this on a guy. It is classy, sexy but not overbearing. The incense note is to die for. I see this as the every day scent of a successful man. <3

  44. :

This is a beautiful fresh woody fragrance; it has lots of characher and a touch of efortless sophistication. Good longevity too.

  45. :

    5 out of 5

very energetic, energizing, awakening and alive, i bought it for my husband on the valentine’s and he too much liked it.
no woody notes in it i was able to smell, i smelled a lots of earth, water, balsamic and air…
i can easily recommend it to dynamic men,
once you wear it, you can say you are present; its sillage is very strong and it’s pretty long lasting

  46. :

    3 out of 5

Smell very balmy and burned spicy and almost like herbal. Not really fan of this scent.

  47. :

    3 out of 5

I find this a very generic edt. Not bad, but nothing special either. If you want a soapy smell go for Creed original vetiver.

  48. :

    3 out of 5

This really is a delicious woody, fruity, floral, soapy and spicy fragrance with an ozonic note. I can smell a violet note in there. Longevity and silage are both very good. It has lots of character and smells divine. The dry-down is the best part – lovely soapy and clean. Gentlemen Only is a fabulous juice, no question about it.

  49. :

    4 out of 5

I don’t get the libre comparison. I have them both and they are like day and night. Due to that Violet influence, Libre is by far softer and more floral. This one is a blend of contradicting ingredients which results in a constant battle between softness and harshness. It’s soapy and clean but at the same time extremely peppery and spicy. If this is no complexity, then I don’t know what is.

  50. :

    3 out of 5

A classic and casual combo. Clean, inoffensive yet sophisticated.
Vetiver is the main note and from then on we can see some spices melting with patchouli and cedar.
Projection seems to be great at first application but after a few minutes it becomes more quiet still perceptible.
Although the notes are a big yawn (at least to me), the execution of this fragrance is phenomenal, creating a fantastic perfume.
Even though this is not my type of fragrance, I have to say that Gentlemen Only deserves to be taking in consideration for sure.

  51. :

    4 out of 5

This is the first Gentleman only version bit I got it at the end, after getting the intense and then the chic versions, which that last one is my favorite, this is not bad but I think the later versions are much better.

  52. :

I love this cologne a lady smelled me and asked, what cologne I wearing, usually I don’t tell but I told her she was like keep wearing it

  53. :

    5 out of 5

Fresh, slightly peppery, woody. Light and pleasant scent. Perfect for daytime, office wear or when meeting new clients in a work situation. As others have said, I also don’t get any vetiver, sadly.
I don’t understand the criticism Givenchy men’s fragrances get: this is fast becoming my favourite house.
    Sept 2016

  54. :

    3 out of 5

Stop comparing with Bleu & Libre, nothing close to them in this Givenchy.
Gentleman Only is really nice, no problem to be a “generic” like to masses because the smell is balanced, comfortable and appealing. Fresh in not “watery” tune & gentle floral herbal mix with some fruity-spicy touch nice blended in this creation but at the end the florals lines are dusty and confused with some strange note of a soapy femenine -spicy tune, anyway is so nice.

  55. :

    3 out of 5

Very nice fragrance. Soapy but spicy. It smells like those handmade soaps you can buy on the french countryside. Smells like quality and elegance but at the same time it is low profile and humble.
    Thumbs up for this one.

  56. :

    4 out of 5

This is what you call a safe fragrance. If one is having trouble deciding what to wear, spray this. It’s versitile and clean. It’s a little on the “basic” side of things but it’s not horrible.

  57. :

    5 out of 5

Polite soapy wood. Would not mind smelling this on a man but it is not for me. Patchouli is apparent which i like, the smooth kind rather than dry or raunchy. Nice in the beginning then something irritates my eyes eventually.

  58. :

    4 out of 5

I bought this without realizing how similar it was to L’Homme Libre, which I already owned. I swear that sample I tried for several days smelled way different. Can’t believe I didn’t notice the similarities. Kind of disappointing to be honest. I should double check next time before making a big purchase. Didn’t go to waste though, gave it to my dad for his birthday and he loves it and wears it well.
Gentlemen Only is nice but I much prefer L’Homme Libre as it definitely lasts longer.

  59. :

    3 out of 5

I am just about done with mine and personally, I love this one.
This is in the line of that soapy, clean smell that some other fragrances fall in to.
I’d say a daytime fragrance that you can pretty much pull off in any season…BUT
I will say this, surprisingly, I got a compliment here and there but not like I have with some others.
I think that is personally because, usually with these fresh clean ones, its soft, subtle and more of a pleasant smell that is given off, not so much a unique, pow type of effect to someone.
So, in conclusion, I’d recommend this in the arsenal, it’s a safe & nice one, but is it something to go out and grab tomorrow, I’d reserve myself for that and suggest you try it yourself. I say that because initially, I was blown away when I smelled it in the store, and the longer I used it, it became a nice fragrance and was no longer that type of “wow” fragrance it was when I first smelled it.

  60. :

I discover Gentlemen Only by accident. I was in a doctors office, flipping through a magazine, when I saw the advertisement. I pulled back the sample strip, and smelled it. VERY NICE I thought. I tried it a few more times before purchasing it. Clean, fresh and a bit spicy. I know the sport version seems to be more popular, but I like this one much better.

I’m a huge fan of Givenchy’s fragrances. They’re by far one of my all-time favorite designer fragrance houses. From the beautifully vanilla-y Pi, to the sweet and intoxicating Play Intense. I was pretty excited to get my nose on yet another great addition to the amazing lineup of colognes Givenchy has released. Sadly, my excitement was in vain for what I smelt was something I would never classify as something you would ever desire to wear. I sprayed it on a piece of paper at a Sephora in Florida and got a good whiff of it. If you’ve ever lived in Florida and mowed over Dog Fennel, you know what I’m smelling. It was bar-none, the worst fragrance I had ever smelt. I tried again at a Sephora in California. It was no different. Givenchy really messed up on this one in my opinion. I have a sadistic desire to find a fragrance worse than this one just because I have way too much respect for Givenchy. I’ve heard horror stories of Secretions Magnifiques by ELDO, but I haven’t smelled it yet. But if you like it, good on you. Just don’t wear it around me or I’ll probably punch you in the face.
EDIT 6/3/2016: I smelled Secretions Magnifiques. I’d buy 100 bottles of Gentlemen Only over a single bottle of Secretions Magnifiques.

OTTIMA fragranza con note d’arancia e pepe rosa su tutte! Giusta la frizzantezza che relega al profumo il mix di vetiver e noce moscata, tale effervescenza è amplificata dall’incenso ed il muschio bianco! Consigliato soprattutto in primavera, soldi ben spesi!

At first I did not quite know what to think of this scent. In truth I was a bit taken aback and wasn’t sure whether it was the result of something hurriedly slapped together and ill conceived idea or possibly inspired in design.
However, courtesy (for it was a gift) required some semblance of use; It has been this occasional “enforced” use that has lead me to conclude, over time, that Gentlemen Only may well have been rushed [conjecture] but truly this is a very clever scent – an air of simplicity that belies a complexity. I never bore with it and enjoy it’s good company.
A great wee gift and a scent I shall replace as long as it is made.

Purchased this one a couple days ago as a blind buy and I am glad I did (It’s Givenchy so of course it’s good, right?) I’m not completely sure what they’ve done here but the way they’ve blended all the notes is quite beautiful. To me, the mandarin comes on strong but quickly takes a back seat to the vetiver and red pepper then settles into a woodsy, incense kind of scent. Juicy, Masculine and modern. Bravo, Givenchy.

I have this one but it is too generic.
You can wear safely at work.

    Wow, this is wonderful stuff!
My brother was presented with this juice, and he loved it; it’s like nothing I’ve smelled during the last 10 years.
I’d buy it if I didn’t have so many perfumes now–sometime I will.

Really like this fragrance. To me the opening smells a little like Fahrenheit. And then yeah it goes to an incensed type of smell but I like it. I would always reach and spray this when cruising the department stores and finally said I need to smell it whenever I want. Smells similar to YSL libre and they came out around the same time, but I like this one better.

This is my first review here on this wonderful website which I have been following for a long time.
I was out hunting for something new when I came across this new fragrance from Givenchy.
Given that I was looking at something to wear to work everyday, this turned out to be a perfect purchase.
The top notes, or perhaps the most immediate of the top notes, are faintly reminiscent of fruity pepper, orange and cold water (which I do believe has a particular scent).
I don’t get much of the heart of this scent on my skin. The top notes fade away in about a half hour directly to the dry down, which to me smells of burnt incense ash, rose and a slight musk.
Sillage is nominal at best, which is the best way around a happy office. Longevity is reasonably good, but certainly does not last past a few hours at best.
If I were have a moment of synaesthetic realization, I would color this a pastel blue, white, cream, and sandcastle.

This fragrance smells like Terre d’Hermes took a shower, threw on a t-shirt/shorts/sandles, and went to chill outside to the backdrop of a sunset.

I bought this one by mistake, but my military store didn’t have a test version. I thought it was the one my husband liked. It’s not. It’s ok I suppose. I do not like the generic nature of it. It reminds me a little of cheaper colognes found in young men’s clothing stores. If anyone loves this cologne and would be interested in purchasing mine, please let me know. We haven’t used it at all. Just opened it to smell it. Unfortunately our military store does not accept returns if opened.

This drys down to a very spicy and woody masculine fragrance on my skin, and I am totally ok with it. Gentlemen Only isn’t something that is ground breaking and needs to scream and shout. I will be adding this smooth smelling fragrance to my wardrobe in the future.

Really versatile perfume. Super manly great fragance.
Spicy. I get a lot of vetiver. For me its linear. Really really Good
For work. Business. A time with friends. It lacks a litle projection.
But its a Good fragance. Compliment getter

Today I bought some decant of this perfume. For those who believe it is similar to “YSL L’Homme Libre” I should say totally not. The top note smells a bit look like “YSL L’Homme Libre”, Spicy and woody, but more intensive. After a while the cool scent turns to be more sweet. The longevity and projection is moderate that I can say it is at least 4 hours. I think It would be a good perfume for daily routines. However, you can buy better perfume whit that price.

This would be my signature but it’s performance is a little lacking on me. Maybe it’s just my skin type. I love the smell, vetiver, pink pepper, and incense are what I get. It’s earthy and mysterious, a gentleman with a story to tell but doesn’t have to. You can see it in his look and his scent. Darn, I love this scent but my skin doesn’t respect this fragrance.
Update: while it’s not a super performing scent, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s probably better that way. Performance is passable, a solid 3 hours before it gets more quiet. The projection is also passable, about arms length leaving a trail. It’s a good work scent but a scent you don’t mind doing happy hour drinks with.

(YSL L’Homme Libre – violet leaf) + incense = Givenchy Gentlemen Only.
I like it but it’s far from being my favorite incense fragrance.
It’s likable & has that warm, cozy feeling to it, like many fragrances that rely on the incense + pepper combination.
My favorite thing about this fragrance is it’s beautiful bottle!
A safe blind buy & a safe gift.

Incense all sexed up. If you are into fragrances that smell like sour incense, this is for you. Way sweeter and less acrid than Ford’s Black Orchid.

    “Darkness With light beaming through”
That is the best way I can describe this fragrance
This fragrance is probably one of the best fragrances I have encountered lately, And I absolutely love it….I am a average consumer that loves fragrances and enjoys smelling good.
Let me tell you that this is probably the best cross between a dark and light fragrance there is, It starts with a tiny hint of a tangerine, But that freshness is short lived where is then taken over by a wet incense note which I feel like that incense is made of nutmeg and birch, Then the scent gets a little sweeter but not gourmand
