starts off with an animalic gardenia with hints of coconut. something smells slightly dank, like wet earth. then it’s mostly a coconutty-gardenia. i’m not sure what happened, or if it’s my skin chemistry or what, but this is totally tropical and beachy. there is no oud and very little patchouli or dark woods. oh well.

I actually liked 1 out of 3 I got—that’s why I’m selling so many, but this just happened to be one of the worst for me :p

I love this so much on my skin, I just wish it would last longer! The opening is loud, but it settles down quickly. After 30 minutes it’s even softer. By an hour and a half it’s very soft. It did continue to last very very very close to my skin for maybe 6 more hours. I think heat would help with this one, which I have found to be so for most of the smell bent fragrances I’ve tried – I thought it was gone, but when I went into a warmer place I could detect it again.
On me it is mostly gardenia with a bit of wood in the background. The gardenia is a fairly fresh one. I enjoy it, so I do hope it’ll do better in hot weather.
I decided to try it on fabric as well and in addition to projecting moderately a little longer and of course lasting much longer, there is much more oud.

Calvini seems to be selling all of his Smell Bent samples. Doesn’t like anything apparently.
I love this scent. It is just what it says it is… gardenia and oud. If you like neither, don’t bother. If you like either, you may like it. If you like both, go for it.
I don’t get any “bug spray” effect, but I too get that with certain perfumes, so I certainly understand that it isn’t pleasant. I agree with Skayalily that it is a melange spice market effect. Which happens to be my favorite. I love Tauer No.1 and No.2 which should tell you something. I also wear Obsession on a daily basis. Maybe that is why I like this so much. Chili Vanilli is another great Smell Bent frag along these same lines, but sweeter.

Where were the warning signs?? This fragrance is atrocious! A horrible lab accident it smells like!! This is one in a hundred scrubber for me (no joke, it kept making me cough). They found the most synthetic smelling tuberose accord and called it gardenia, then found some strangely hollow yet nutty sharp “oud” that smelled like something I shouldn’t get a wiff of, and created this poison… I dare you to try it!

It’s exactly Precious Oud from Van Cleef & Arpels. A sharp gardenia opening and then a beautiful sweet wood.

I love gardenia; I can barely find it here. The oud is a deep, rich “spicy” scent. It isn’t the spice market melange effect; it’s just an essence of spiciness. I think it’s lovely, a bit forceful and strong; yet, to my sense, purely unisex. When it gets quite warm out, I notice a distinct “bug spray” vibe; this is not good in the heat. It lasts over 6 hours and has a moderate sillage.
