Oh my goodness, my Mother had this! Either this, or That’s Amore ,but in this kind of bottle. I remember this bottle, and also the name That’s Amore, and that I used to find the scent intoxicating, but I don’t remember how it smelled. Maybe the rum chocolate note similar to Love Potion? Well, this stays unknown, as my Mum doesn’t even remember the bottle let alone the fragrance. She also had L’Air du Temps which became a big favourite of mine, but she always prefers fresh scents.

If Allure, Birmane, and Love in Paris had a child. Very lovely fragrance. Warm, Fresh, Tangy, Balmy, Fruity, Tart. It reminds me of three of my loves in one. The silliage is very faint, but on a windy day it projects okay. Lasting power is not too good either on my skin, but very good on clothing. A beautiful fragrance for Spring and Fall.
The opening is slightly green and fruity like Love in Paris, the middle becomes a tad spicy probably because of melon (pineapple and melon seem to do this temporarily on my skin) the drydown exotic like Birmane, Warm like Allure, and Fresh like Love in Paris, Fruity and fresh with warm amber making it balmy and delicious. For the price it sells for the quality is very good, and the dropdown is not at all a cheap musk or glue like amber. Recommended.
FYI: it is not a dupe for Allure, just familiar. It reminds me more and more of a watered down Birmane. Very nice.

It was a blind buy, because someone mentioned resemblance with Love in Paris, which I love to my death and which – unfortunately was badly reformulated.
Gai Matiollo has nothing in common with Love in Paris, but more with Sira Indes from Patou. GM is heavy floral fruity, powdery and grown up scent, very good, long-lasting and radiant quality. Someone interested in swap?

Yes this does carry some resemblance of allure, but its a lighter more reserved yet still sensual version of it. I’m not sure if it’s a replica of Allure, I think it came out before it. Anyways it’s one of the perfumes I came across from my adolescent years, which was early 90’s. To me this should be listed under oriental perfumes, its deep, sensual and balmy. Smells really good on my skin, and I prefer it to allure. I find allure much more stronger and bolder and demands everyone’s attention, where as this one only asks politely for the elite fews attention. It stays close to the skin, like a skin scent. Sillage and longevity is moderate to long lasting.

Best replica of Chanel’s Allure EVER. This was a blind buy at a bargain price (1.7 Oz for $15) and the best little surprise ever! If you’ve ever smelled Allure, this is pretty much a dead on match. Very surprised to see this listed as a fruity floral, since entirety of scent pyramid is very much a vanilla oriental.
It’s a very warm scent, full of balmy notes that dominate, including vanilla and the sweetness of peach/melon.

This perfume brings back happy memories for me – it was the perfume I wore on my wedding day in 1999. It is now 2013 and I still have the bottle which is still almost full. Kept in a cool dark area it hasn’t ‘gone off’. I was reluctant to use it as it is so special; quite soft on me and as another reviewer stated, it does smell a bit like Chanel Allure. Not sure if its been discontinued but its so special to me so I only use it every now and then.

This perfume is the twin to Patou Sira des Indes. I have them both and I love this one a bit more even. Lovely complex perfume.

I purchased my bottle of GAI MATTIOLO from Borghese, but I never really took to it, certainly not in the way that I fell for IL BACIO, of which I managed to consume about a gallon. In contrast, my single bottle of GAI MATTIOLO still contains about 90 of its 100ml!
Pulling GAI MATTIOLO out and testing it today, I remember why: Although the opening has a lightly sweet and friendly, if nondescript, fruity floral quality, the composition becomes progressively more unpleasant with the passage of time, with a tinge near the end, sad to say, of putridity.
The culprits here, apparently incompatible with my skin’s chemistry–and perhaps exacerbated by the heat–are melon and pear. But I’ll take this up one more time in cold weather before writing it off for good…

I feel that this is a youthful, playful fragrance. I reminds me A LOT of Chanel Allure, especially when I layer it with the body lotion. Both EDT and lotion are incredibly inexpensive. A word of warning: I wouldn’t wear this one to an important board meeting.

It was such a pleasure for me to buy this bottle…It is a happy, light, easygoing fragrance. At the same time it is fresh and sweet, invigorating and calming. It is a fragrance for young ladies or for those, who are young at heart. This fragrance almost requires a smile and a frilly attitude!
It starts as a nice, juicy slice of what it feels like Honeydew melon with a drop of citrus and develops into a floral accord, spiced with green fleshy leaves.I can feel a pear, and it is crispy and green…I wore it 10 years ago, but recently refreshed my memory – and I think I am ready for more!
The only minus is it does not last very long on skin, but forever on clothes.
