Fugue is a vintage aromatic. The highlights in the arrangement of notes here can be described as—a sour lacquerish tint, atop dark ambrosial berries, with some stingy-sweet hints between the honeysuckle, the benzoin, and the incense note (which seems to actually be the clearwood). Seems to me like Vincent custom made the incense note with an accord of clearwood, patchouli, elemi?, and what I can sense as the faint presence of evergreen woods in the distant background.
It comes off really bland and chemicalish at first, but once the ISO E Super opens up the olfactory channels, you get more of the finer aromatics. The oils for this one don’t seem especially stale or indie to me. The fragrance is actually very unique, and even considerably enjoyable to a more sophisticated sense of taste.
The vintage essence is definitely there, and the pungent kick at the start really adds depth to experience. I would put this one into the same class as Tom Ford Vert D’Encens, in the sense that it’s a fragrance moreso made for theater than anything else. It’s something you’d put into the fog machine to set the atmosphere for Jack the Ripper or something.
Truly for connoisseurs only.
Not bad though. It’s definitely among one of Vincent’s more dignified releases. If this were Ice-T’s artistic expression, I’d almost swear he was talking about Kilian Straight to Heaven; in the sense of a fragrance that sends him into a fugue state, and makes him feel like he can just smoke anyone without fear. Not to many other fragrances I can think of with that effect to it.

Hypnotic, dark, nocturnal… is a very complex and unique scent,it carries you into a night of sex and rock, the air is damp and foggy. This is strange though I like it. Sillage is soft is not a strong scent, but longevity is pretty good! beautiful
