    Scent – sugar & bergamot musk .
Season/Time of Day – I prefer to use this one in the warmer months, during the day.
    Projection – I didn’t get noticed, I didn’t get a compliment.
    Longevity – I get 6hrs consistently.

I have mixed feelings about this perfume. On my wrist, I feel a slightly masculine scent, but on my neck it smells like soap bubbles.

Whoa… Totally not what I expected. Very citrusy and astringent due to bergamot overload. If you are lucky enough to survive the initial citrus blast, you can smell the rose, some nondescript fruits (ok, it’s mostly blackberries and raspberries) and burnt sugar. At first I didn’t like it (because the bergamot note was overwhelming), it smelled off-putting to me (to the extent that I wanted to hit the “dislike” button!), but after a couple of wearings it really grew on me, and now I love it. It’s very bubbly and sparkling like champagne.
A high-pitched fruity floral. Almost an acquired taste fruity floral.

Very musky and very sweet. Synthetic, yes, but does this have to be a bad thing? There is a strong green note in it that I might mistake for some kind of patchouli but I guess it is the combo of the musk and strawberry leaf. Would not pay Montale prices for it, but I certainly don’t hate it.

This is so pretty! At first it reminded me of my cousin and the perfume she used to wear many many years ago and I don’t even know what that is. Even though I dislike her, she always smelled nice and this perfume just smells so nice, light and soft. It makes me feel calm and peaceful. When I read “fruits” I immediately thought about something sweet and annoying, but this isn’t annoying at all, quite the opposite. I don’t get the musk on my skin at all! It’s definitely on my wish list now, but I don’t think this smells like an expensive perfume you know what I mean? If I didn’t know this is a Montale fragrance, I would’ve never guessed. Still, this is sooo nice I wish I had a bigger sample to see how much I would liked it if i used a few days in a row.

First off I should explain that I just don’t get Montale. I’ve tried close to a dozen Montale fragrances and can’t find a single one I can even appreciate much less like. They’re all very strong and have a lot of oil in them so they tend to last a long time which is a big plus in my book normally. The issue is that they seem very simple and similar. Normally I just sniff them and move on without commenting because these perfumes are just not my thing. This one was both particularly awful and emblematic of what I don’t like about Montale. Strong, sour, unripe berry note with some kind of chemically musky base that went on and on without changing. No thanks.

I got this as a gift by a sweet and generous member . Never would I have thought that fruit and musk would smell so rich. I am desperately in love right now: that is the feeling it evokes in me. I am not often floored by a fragrance this way. I was expecting rotten fruit and burn fur lol.. This musky beauty is all about pink suede! Such a lovely woodsy note accompanies the fruity accord. It is now 4h40 am and I feel like rushing out to buy it. Yes, I want a full bottle! It is that yummy in a sensous, elegant and alluring way.

Montale is driving me nuts with its ultra sweet creations. They are so sticky that they become part of the “teen celebrities” type of fragrances.
This smells like musk and mashed berries, with caramel sauce included.
Same happened when I smelled Gimger Musk. I was expecting something powdery and a little bit sweet but with a zesty, tart counterpart. But all I get is a sweet thing.

Pungent red raspberry, clean musk and deep, red rose swirled together in a very sweet, jammy perfume. Quite feminine with montale’s signature sweet, almost boozy and intoxicating rose fragrance. Very little green leaf or citrus here to cut through the mountain of jammy sweetness. Projection, sillage and longevity are fantastic and this is always montale’s strong point.
    Score 3.5/10 for a man 5.5/10 for a woman.

Have you ever known someone extremely wealthy who has, let us put it as diplomatically as possible: less-refined tastes? Well, Montale has issued a perfume to cover that niche: FRUITS OF THE MUSK. I was really hoping that this would be the fruity-floral to refute all of the stereotypes: the shining example of how even in this homely genre, great perfumes are to be had. Sad to say, but I was wrong.
There are some rich and delightful fruity-floral perfumes around–though they certainly do not abound and are in fact quite difficult to find–but FRUITS OF THE MUSK is not a member of that tiny group. Instead, this composition seems like a very straightforward mainstream designer fruity-floral fragrance featuring the proverbial “red berries” and “abstract flowers”.
FRUITS OF THE MUSK is really nothing to write home about and even less to spend big Montale bucks on to acquire. This juice would have fit quite nicely in the next garish-hat-topped Coty Prestige flanker bottle. Désolée.

The top notes excited me at first, because it smelt like Tauer’s Une Rose Vermeille. But then the drydown reminded me of one of thousands of generic fruity musks out there like Juicy couture or some other generic celebrity fanfare. Disappointing, for something that was of high price and presumed high quality. I really didn’t find it long-lasting to be honest, I got 4hrs max out of it, and then the scent died. It was an interesting concept, to combine fruit with musk, but apart from the initial first 45mins I didn’t rate it.

I love this perfume and the lasting power is amazing. It smells similar (but stronger) than Philosophy’s Falling in Love & Unconditional Love but lasts a lot lot longer. It lasted a good 14hrs on me and was still going strong. You get that lovely waft of blackberries, strawberries and raspberries and reminds me of tutti fruity sweets! Lol! It is absolutely gorgeous and not in your face strong either it is the type of perfume that you can wear during the day and in the evening and smells sooooo sexy also! It is the type of fragrance that has men coming up to you and smelling you and saying “Crikey you smell delicious, what are you wearing?” Which really boosts your confidence. Men used to do that when i wore Philosophy’s Falling in Love but unfortunately that fragrance only lasted for a few hours (or maybe I could only smell it for about 3-4hrs?) BUT this one I can still smell 14hrs later which means I don’t need to spray myself every few hrs and with this perfume you only need 1 or 2 squirts where as with Falling in Love I would spray it on my hair, wrists, inside elbows & on my clothes by the bust area! This one is just 1 spray on my wrist and tap it onto the other (DO NOT RUB as everyone knows you should NEVER do with a perfume)and 1 spray on my clothes by the bust area and I am done ALL day and evening (So in fact even tho this is more expensive than Philosophy you need less of it and it lasts a lot lot longer so works out a lot cheaper) I love this perfume and defo want more! Yum Yum is all I can say xxx

According to Luckyscent (when it was still available off their website), FotM’s notes are: strawberry leaves, mandarin, bergamot of Italy, blackberry, rose essence of Bulgaria, white musk, and raspberry.
The strawberry leaves are immediately prominent while the mandarin (which I could barely detect-it’s there) and bergamot support the strawberry leaves for about 15 minutes.
Afterwards the berries, musk, and rose essence kick into high gear and stay there for a few hours. It then dries down into its white musk, and even after 12 hours I can still smell this on me.
It’s young, but lovely. It is mostly blackberries+musk, with a hint of rose. Slightly jammy, but not cloying. Not exactly something a teenager would wear—probably a 30something who likes to have fun. Most Montales I’ve tried have a neutral effect on me; but this one is special. I love it.

I love it. A gorgeous sweet floral-fruity scent, not powdery. Perfect for the winter to warm you. Soft and juicy rose and lot of berries. There is of course a light note of musk. The combination is unique. The scent is very long lasting on my skin. One of my favorite Montales.

Tested this one a while ago. This is a dry fruity scent that is too feminine for a man to wear. I think its for a more mature woman, not for teenage girls. Good projection and longevity (8+ hours), but not for me.

Cloyingly sweet berries and musk. If you like the idea of berries and musk but want to smell it done right, check out Fraicheur Muskissime by Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier, which is similar but much better. (While you’re at it, check out Sanguine Muskissime, too, a beautiful blend of blood orange, grapefruit and musk. A beautiful, ethereal citrus!)
