Description

Yves Rocher presented their seasonal editions for holidays 2010/11. The attractive orange and candy scents were included in their Christmas collection Fruits de Noel. The collection is based on winter orange notes and includes two fragrances: Orange & Amande and Orange & Chocolat. The fragrances are presented in late autumn 2010.

Orange & Amande is a gentle gourmand perfume of delicate and creamy almonds combined with juicy and sunny oranges for an irresistibly delicious experience. This gastronomic composition awakes the images of idyllic winter moments by a smoldering fire in a cozy mountain cottage.

The composition is blended of orange, mandarin, bergamot, grapefruit and almond essential oils.

Orange & Amande and Orange & Chocolat are both available as 50 ml EDT. The accompanying collection of body care products includes: 200 ml shower gel, 200 ml body lotion, 75 ml hand cream, liquid soap of 300 ml, 4 grams of lip balm and mini-soaps.

I have to agree. The scent is great, but it doesn’t last 🙁

no, it dosen’t last too long and after drydown it does stay close to the skin. but, i still love it. it smells of oranges and then a light floral musk to my nose. its a unique scent that i just keep smelling my wrists for more. i spray heavily with this one and i don’t regret it one bit. i love smelling it. this is my christmas perfume for this year.

it does smell good, but so close to skin and after 1 minute it is completely gone… even the bodylotion smells like…nothing…. what a pity. if it had any lasting power it would be nice for winter/christmas time…

All I smell was oranges at trial… And it’s staying power was poor…But I find it still wearable at daytime on spring or fall…

A very nice gourmand that can make you want to lick yourself 🙂 Oranges keep it light yet you can feel the warm vanilla behind, and for the first 15 minutes, with the help of almond which gives the fragrance a different dimension, it feels so lovely, so cozy. Then, all of a sudden it transforms into a generic vanilla scent -and that’s a big disappointment. Then, it’s all gone. Doesn’t last at all, it’s only there for an hour. So sad.

    That’s so funny Juliette!!
I tried it in Paris a few weeks ago and I had exactly the same experience! I loved it VERY much, but it didn’t last on me neither. But maybe this isn’t the case with all people. I am sometimes surprised when people call a perfume that I find VERY light, very strong. And the other way around too! But for me this one does not hold.

It’s totally lovely – and when you spray it on, you first think – wow – is this the latest fragrance by L’Artisan Parfumeur?
But then, the fun stops after 5 min. The scent is gone… and is indeed a very fleeting pleasure. Let me try to remember when this last happened to me… oh yes, it was with the Grapefruit Eau de Cologne by Hermes launched in 2009. Hermes charge about 70 Euros per bottle…Yves Rocher’s almond-scent cost me 8 Euros. But why do I mention this here? I guess I felt more cheated by Hermes than by Yves Rocher…btw, you can try to team the scent with a matching body-lotion – and they do a room-spray as well. Could make the pleasure last about 1 hour longer…

I’ve bought the liquid soap of this scent and I smell almond just in the “top note” – the base really reminds me of Dior Escale aux Marquises’ base. Can anybody tell me if in this Eau de Toilette, the almonds also disappear or do they last till the end? I’m not a fan of almond and looking for a cheaper alternative to the Dior scent.

I bought this perfume and the other Fruits de Noel by Yves Rocher. I like this one but I usually don’t like gourmand scents It smells very good and soft but it’s not so long lasting on me.

Oranges, oranges, oranges!…Nothing says winter in the Northeastern United States like oranges, and we typically get anywhere from 1-3 cases from friends and family at the holidays. I first thought: “Why did they make all the Noel scents this year orangey?”. Then it hit me…that is actually when I eat most of my yearly oranges! I am so glad two of the three orange-based Noel scented products have an EDT (Orange et Canelle did not-here in the US; and in the past-’06 & ’07-there were NO sprays at all at Xmas!). All three are quite nice…
So very citrusy this one, with the dry nutty smell of roasted almonds and some candy like sweetness…very linear, yet very fresh, sweet and nuttilicious! Real smelling orange and mandarin and a light bergamot alongside the almond note is so clean and light with not that much sweetness (compared to Miel d’oranger and Orange et chocolat!). I also got the lotion and for the price the quality is superb. I find layering this with Demeter Scent Library’s Almond keeps it around longer and accentuates the warm nuttiness. If this were any sweeter…it would be an orange creamsicle, and I’m glad it is what it is-oranges and almonds. The Jardin du Monde Florida orange shower gel fits like a glove with this, for those of you who do the 3 layer thing (scrub, smooth & spritz)like I do. All this years scents are great, and bring some warm sweetness into the cold icy winter and remind us that the very best gifts are those from nature…
    Sillage: close
    Longevity: okay
    Overall: 3.25/5
I think that the honey scent is my favorite followed by this, and then the chocolate…but it is hard to say-they are all well-made and light, with obviously high quality in materials and creation. The third scent: orange and cinnamon (only available here in the States as a scented soap) was probably my favorite of the three orange ones..but all in all these two FdN EDTs have made me very happy-except the life of the scents; but when you forego the synthetics (for the most part) you usually have to give up either sillage or longevity, thank God here it was not Quality! Happy Holidays to everyone here…

A gentle sweet fragrance – it brings to mind an orange cream cookie. On spraying, I smell orange and the sweet notes; almond is not so obvious to me. I like this fragrance and will use it over the holidays but my only gripe is that it is very light – it is splash quality and not EDT. I have to keep re-spraying to smell the fragrance. I also bought the matching lotion and liked the quality of the lotion – its consistency is thicker than some of their other lotions I have used.
