    A Diorissimo martini.
So interesting-. Spring green jasmine and lily-of-the-valley and all the heavy white flowers, but with a tipsy watery note and a lemon zest curl that cuts through the floral wax with a vodka note.
Cocktail hour lasts three hours, and leaves a kid leather glove behind, 1950’s Cinderella chic.

I really love Flowerhead, surprisingly so. It initially didn’t grab my attention as though it was beautiful it reminded me of Balenciaga’s fragrance and the green bitterness. But that fades reasonably quickly and what remains is a beautiful floral fragrance. It is a great choice if you are looking for a fresh floral that isn’t cloying and though there is tuberose in there I can barely notice it. I have become a bit tired of tuberose after wearing it for too long and so if there is a lot in it I would notice but I actually didn’t identify it at all. To me it is fresh rose and jasmine and other light floral notes. It is very pretty and feminine and next to Gypsy Water as my favorite Byredo. Love it!

It seems I’ve tried this before but I don’t remember.. maybe I didn’t like it :/ anyway now it’s a chilly March and I think this is a really pretty scent.
On my skin and clothes it opens minty jasmine and stays that way more than 4 hours later so it seems to me a linear scent. Simple, youthful and very much an Indian jasmine imo. I like it a lot <3
Oh and it reminds me of Pacifica’s Tunisian Jasmine, but much lighter and airier.. I prefer Tunisian Jasmine actually but this is good in a different way, great for spring, very good projection and longevity

Byredo’s Flowerhead first came to my attention as a forum suggestion for a wedding day scent. Adding Flowerhead to my test list was a ‘no brainer’, especially seeing that the scent was inspired by the traditional Indian floral headdress worn by a bride on her wedding day.
Looking at the scent pyramid one would assume that Byredo’s Flowerhead is a white floral with crisp citrus notes and dew-kissed green accords. Sadly this assumption I made was quite far off the actual result. Flowerhead is a powerhouse modern floral with loads of salty wood accords, sharp, somewhat synthetic green notes and a heavy dose of jammy cranberries.
This fragrance is far too sharp to even be a consideration for my big day. Too many sprays of Flowerhead would have your guests fainting in the pews. Whilst I’m all for modernism in perfumery, I must be honest, Flowerhead has been tampered with so much that it barely resembles anything from the white floral genre.
Just by glancing at the previous reviews on this site I would deem Flowerhead a polarising scent. You’ll either love it or hate it, there’s no in between. Sadly I’m one of its loathers as I find it quite headache-inducing after a few minutes of wear.

Firstly let me mention how I adore Byredo as a perfume brand. Their fragrances are beautiful and of incredibly high quality. The bottle looks sleek and pretty. Moreover, the scents are unique and incredibly long lasting on me. I also own Pulp, which smells beautiful and am very much interested in Mojave Ghost for my next purchase.
Flowerhead is the perfect white floral perfume. It is sweet but not too sweet to the point where it would be nauseating. Many white floral fragrances can be incredibly cloying, which I absolutely detest. Flowerhead has the perfect balance. It is a very true floral scent and it does not smell artificial at all. I imagine myself walking through a white floral garden on a crisp morning in a flowy white dress. It is very elegant and very feminine. The main notes to me are tuberose and a mix of other white florals. I do not necessarily detect a strong distinctive jasmine like many others seem to. There is also a slight note of greens, which gives it that crisp feel. Overall my all time favourite white floral fragrance.

I purchased this at Nordy’s last week. At first whiff if hit a pin point in my mind and based in that millisecond of interaction I parted ways with $240.
However after I came home and actually sprayed it on my skin I realized it smells almost identical to Do Son by Diptyque of which I own already.
I don’t really want to have two sweaty white flowers in my collection.
I even sprayed Do Son on one wrist and Flowerhead on the other, discovering the only difference between the two (for me) is the Vanilla in Do Son, and the Celery like notes in Flowerhead. So based on that experiment I exchanged this at Nordstrom for Dior Hypnotic Poison and got some money back too!
This doesn’t mean I’m giving up on you Byredo, this just wasn’t original enough for me to be moved, and I feel one must be spiritually and emotionally moved if one is going to invest in a Fine Fragrance.

I generally don’t like floral perfumes, but decided to give this one a try (I liked the name!).
The result? I’ve spent 4 hours with a headache and the urge to wash my neck and wrists. Definitely a no-no for me. Too sickly sweet and decidedly strong.
It also smells like mimosa on my skin, and it’s a flower whose smell I’ve always hated.
I know, no mimosa note, it must be the tuberose playing tricks on me!

Oh! How beautiful is this perfume? I feel like I’m wearing a wreath of flowers in my hair, picked from a fresh dewy garden.
These flowers are so cool and fresh. The combination of sparkling tuberose, luminous sweet jasmine, green velvety roses, tart lingonberry (according to the brand’s website, not cranberry which is quite similar anyway) and green, watery, celery-like bitter angelica create something of a lily accord that is so much like the opening of Cartier’s Baiser Vole.
This is truly what I wanted Baiser Vole to be as that had tended to flatten out into a soft floral vanilla musk. No vanilla here ladies, just beautiful, fresh, snappy greens and whites. What a nice surprise!
Ambergris and suede? Undetectable except as a nuance of soft sexiness and a little humid depth.
Romantic, whimsical and ladylike. Fresh, natural, elegant, I could go on. This fragrance makes me want to go dance in the sunshine, and would even be uplifting on a cold rainy day.

I made the mistake of applying this after a bath and before I went to bed for the night. I had a disturbed sleep as the perfume was too overwhelming.
During the day this is a loud white floral, over night it is the devil incarnate and it sort of put me off it a little.
Best in summer, outside in the sun, and really – after my experience the other evening – preferably on someone else, I don’t know, who lives miles away from me.

I do agree that is can be over powering but in a good way. I love to smell a fragrance like this other than a person who hasn’t taken a bathe.

Flowerhead blends together beautifully as it settles on your skin – authentic rather than synthetic, a beautiful bouquet of white florals, fresh greens and sweet complementary berries & fruit. If you dig white florals, do yourself a favor and check this one out. If you find white florals offputting – well, go on… get outta here! =P

The Swedish summer in a bottle: gentle, dreamy, green. Despite its huge nostalgia factor and pull for me, I have the same issue with it as with Phylosikos; namely, that it’s more a sense of place than a fragrance, especially at that price. The only way I’d pay so much tor this type of thing would be for the perfume itself to bring something more to the table, like En Passant’s clear radiance and good lasting power. As it is, I’m happy owning a sample of Flowerhead for my nostalgia fix.

I got this as a present. Thanks god first i only sprayed this on perfume paper, that they gave me inside the box.
This frag is too flowery. I just could smell flowers everywhere. After hours it smells mostly like in the beginning, no change at all.
I really don’t like it and gave this to my mom.

I tried Flowerhead on in the store the other day. First I was very impressed by it and really enjoyed the tuberose and jasmine that came with fresh and green notes. But already after a short while I found it too photorealistic. I felt like I was choosing flowers in a cooler in a florist’s shop rather than wearing a fragrance. I’m sure that it is intended to smell like that but I prefer my fragrances more blended, with a zingy top and a well developed warm base.

I’ve changed my opinion. I don’t often head so quickly downhill into disliking a fragrance, but I’m finding the angelica just too overbearing. It ruins the composition. It makes me feel ill.

  17. :

    4 out of 5

The Angelica transforms this fragrance, turning it from a very lovely floral into something… transcendant. At first the Angelica seems like an intrusion, but slowly it takes center stage over the whole composition. Combined with strong musk and ambergris, it has a Spearmint quality, making me feel numbed as if from happy gas. It ends very differently to where it starts. It begins as a quintessential white floral, becomes a crazy, overgrown garden, and ends up cold, soft and fuzzy at the same time. Absolutely unique. But I’m not sure I like it.

Wow. Wow, wow, wow. I usually don’t fall for the pure florals, but this! Wow.
It’s heavy flowery, still soft and round. It smells so genuine and does not at all give me the usual white-floral-headaches. For the first time in about a year I’ve been wearing the same perfume for a full week.
It’s especially fantastic layered over Byredos Gypsy Water.
Also, the top notes contain lingonberries, not cranberries.

Smells great on others, utterly reeks on me… and wont go away after 2 showers

As I spritz it,I can smell an almost tart fruity note,it may be cranberry mixed with lemon but soon florals kick in,very dominant jasmine, also some tuberose with a green undertone, just like newly cut flowers, there is still some juicy fruity note lingering in the background, this fruit note and the green vibe of florals reminds me cacharel eden, not as a dupe,as a fragrance with same vibe annd overall feeling
I’m not a Jasmine lover, but it’s done beautifully here, florals are sweet but not too much, they’re soft and creamy but not in a cloying, almost oily indolic way..fruits and green notes add a freshness and balance Jasmine and tuberose nicely but there is something that ruins it’s beauty for me,you know how Jasmine, tuberose can smell in a synthetic, plastic way, they are not synthetic here but in drydown, suede adds a synthetic, plasticy rubbery feeling which I dislike..I can’t get why the hell they’ve used suede here?!it would be a lovely white floral if there was some some delicate woods as base note IMO
Longevity and sillage are great but I can’t get along this rubbery note
    ❤❤❤

This ranked up there with secretions on gag worthy. Byredo continues to disappoint me mostly. I will regret putting that on for at least three days. Very carnal white flower, very.

Got this off ebay for a really good price and this was a blind buy. The fragrance is a true floral, more jasmine than a tuberose with hints of citrus. This perfume smells v natural and takes some 30 mins or more to start smelling nice. I love floral and this is no exception. However given I own so many I cannot claim it is the best I have. But I m impressed by how natural it is made to smell. My one big complain against niche fragrances is that not many can justify their price point. There are some that can, but I m not yet sure about this one. May be it will grow on me.. Don’t reach out for this one unless u truly appreciate the scent of flowers

This is like a grenade going off! It takes a good 2 hours or so for it to settle down into something that is quite lovely. I could see this as a wedding fragrance – but only if applied hours before the ceremony. Unbelieveable sillage. Just like the old Brycreem ads – a little dab’ll do you!

Oh my goodness me, this is a floral heaven. It smells like entering a brand new florist shop which is preparing fresh wedding bouquets. Utter heaven for white floral lovers. There is some similarity to Liz Earle scent but the longevity and projection are so much better. Not an everyday scent but definitely suitable for balls, garden parties, weddings or an evening summer do.
If I owned this however, I would wear it, I would flaunt it and wear it with pride and not care.

first spray and it blows in your face! it sure is a flower bomb instead of floewerhead.. i like it, but not for everyday use, more like a date night kind of perfume..

Oh my goodness!! You know how people who have had near-death experiences talk about how they find themselves in an ethereal place, assumed to be “heaven” where the colors of the grass and flowers are 10x more vibrant and beautiful than that on earth? Well, this is what those flowers there must smell like. Need I say more?

  27. :

Wow! What is this heavenly floral creation? So gorgeous and ethereal! Truly floral, lots of jasmine and tuberose but very clean and smooth with natural sweetness of the flowers, no artificial sweeteners added. Some green notes can be detected but it just balances out the floral notes to prevent it from going overboard. My eyes could roll to the back of my head with this innocent yet sensual scent from Byredo. The quality is undeniable, it smells natural, it lasts over 8 hours on the skin. What a beauty!

Received in a sampler pack from Aedes. Instantly purchased a full bottle. I am morphing into a real floral lover! Tuberose is so realistic. Cranberry makes the white flowers delicious without being overly sweet. There are green stems under those flower heads. A happy fragrance.

Finally got my hands on a sample of this beauty and it was as lovely as I expected. The name probably gives it away but this is one for floral lovers. The top notes disappear almost immediately, leaving me with gorgeous and well blended tuberose and jasmine. I think the green notes, and eventually the ambergris and suede give a “dirty” edge (I mean that in a good way!) and keep any jasmine sweetness at bay really well.
I would warn that you don’t need a lot of this one. People will definitely notice it with a couple sprays.

Well I blind bought a nearly full bottle of this on ebay.. Like the wonderful ‘Pulp’ you get what it says on the can…. A stonking delirious TKO white floral with an extraordinary ginger long drydown. In fact I am wondering if I have done too much sampling and have something left…but no, this is unique. It’s really up there with the tuberose magi like Criminelle fracas and carnal flower. Really beautiful rendition of the delirious White floral and went quickly up there into my desert island must haves…

It’s a lovely, modern bouquet of flowers… summery and sweet with a relaxed aura to it. It’s a young floral that wants to be liked, but it doesn’t care to be unique. Tuberose and jasmin are definitely dominant.
On my skin, it reminds me of Michael Kors – Michael – esp. shortly before the drydown, but it ends up as a straightforward feminine scent and Michael doesn’t.
The slightly poor complexity is a bit of a disapointent to me.
It would have been a bigger hit if released before we knew this popular combination in other perfumes or rather, if there was any kind of surprise on the way.
But still, it’s pretty enough and I would wear it when in the mood.

Sorry “redolent_one”: niche houses like Xerjoff, Creed, Frederic Malle, By Killian, Clive Christian, Byredo…, etc……, has much better things to do with their time & expertise TGAN to dabble in cheap synthetic frags…. Find fault with the notes, the note breakdown, the transition of notes, the blending…, etc….., but please don’t make the false premise of assuming they’re loading up their concoction with cheap synthetics…….

  33. :

This one opens beautifully but whatever is left of it on the skin is unbearable! I was annoyed with this scent the whole day I wore it. Probably skin chemistry problem, but better get a sample before you blind-buy without wearing it.

  34. :

    5 out of 5

WOW….talk about a very strong floral. I am not sure which one is stronger – this one or inflorescence. Let’s discuss: This one has very strong tuberose mixed with jasmine. I mean, the tuberose is powerful. I am used to having this scent tamed down a touch, but the jasmine I think makes it stronger.
if you are not an allergy sufferer and love strong white flowers then this one is it, otherwise I would pass on it because for me, it is just strong, in your face, white florals. I like to have an earthy balance to it, but none of that comes through.

Got a sample from a friend and i really thought id like it as the very first kick of it was licourise to me. But rapidly Flowerhead ran on another train towards very very very very sharp tuberose that almost burn my nose, followed by a boquet of white flowers. Fades pretty fast into a friendlier scent ( i get watery apples?) The “green-ness” in this composition, reminds me strongly about (my unanswerd love, nothing but hate in return),Black Orchid. I do not posess the masterskills to wear green perfumes at all, but if i did, i would choose Flowerhead for my shelf.

  36. :

This is a very strong fragrance. You only need one or two sprays, anything more and this scent will be so overpowering. This scent also smells very much like Ophelia by Heeley. I’d say this is a stronger version of Ophelia. On me this perfume lasts about 3-4 hours.

  37. :

    4 out of 5

I ADORE tuberose and I’m always super excited when I pick up a sample dominated by my beloved note. I also enjoy suede, so I was really looking forward to trying “Flowerhead”.
Well, first I have to say that the name “Flowerhead” represents the scent perfectly. If there is such thing as a perfume too floral, then “Flowerhead” definitely is it. It is a great bomb of tropical and sweet tuberose mixed with extremely sweet jasmine, it stays rather linear all the way and I’ll admit that I did not get any other notes. And it turns out i’m not such a big fan of tuberose if it’s not supported by non floral notes, well this was nice, but simply…too floral, too much for me. But, hey, if grand florals which are by the way very crowd pleasing and safe for everyday use, your thing, you should try to hunt down a sample.
Staying power was very good, more than 7 hours.

Redolent One has a lucky friend to be given a sample of this beauty.
There is nothing, I repeat NOTHING synthetic about this beauty. I am very very picky about white florals, only a few pass the fbw test for me, but this is a BIG yes that is going on my wishlist.
Perfect for summer nights on a beach or anywhere else for that matter. Best pairing of jasmine and tuberose I’ve ever met. One tiny spray on my hand and dh walked past and said ‘what is that gorgeous stuff?, I hope you have a lot of it!’ Hopefully I will soon.

May be it does not have the notes development one could wish for in a traditional perfume, the flower scent in Flowerhead is quite unusual and sensual. None of the flower note in this formula stands out, as they are quite well-blended together and form a wet floral accord, like smelling fresh chrysanthemum. The green notes in this perfume make it a more realistic bouquet of flowers; it’s like you are not only smelling the flowers, but also the stems. The downside of this perfume is probably the ambergris; I suspect it’s ISO Super-E again.

I got a sample of this when I bought something at Barney’s. I can’t believe how bad it was. It is flowery alright but not in a good way. It is linear (which for me is no big deal but if I don’t like it, it’s obviously awful) . What I really don’t like was the total assault of what seemed like synthetic flower to the 100th power without anything to ground or balance it. Yuck.
I gave it to a friend.
