Description

Roberto Cavalli launches Florence in December 2017 as a modern chypre-amber fragrance, inspired by the Tuscany. It is developed by perfumer Marie Salamagne.

“A radiant and blooming bouquet, blending gentle orange blossom and zesty grapefruit petals. This delicate combination is highlighted by slightly musky hibiscus seeds that add a touch of exoticism and mystery. Its contrasting notes of sweet Blackcurrant and slightly tangy mandarin essence create an explosion of life and energy. The dry-down builds on a luxurious chypre accord: sensuous musk and luminous amber offer an ideal counterpoint to mesmerizing patchouli.”

Roberto Cavalli Florence is available as a 30, 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

This fragrance composition evokes Florence in the early spring and interior of the historic sites and manors from the renaissance, rich with history, art and ancient regal spirit. Patchouly opens and balmy amber settles it. Love it!

Florence reminds me of a hype party. On the one hands, smellings of oud and tobacco from gentleman and on the other hand, the smell of soup and flowers from ladies. That’s why I think it has some unisex characteristics.
This is definitely a different perfume from mainstream. It is bold and demanding. It is described to be a chypre floral perfume which I understand might be because of intense patchouli note. But it also has an oriental floral vibe to me. At some stages, it smells exactly like an oud perfume with a high amount of tobacco. Amber is also undeniable, as it gives the perfume a sweet deep accord.
Florence has the essence of most of Roberto Cavalli perfumes and I can’t say if I really like it or not (just like so many other RC perfumes), but I can recommend it to brunette ladies (maybe because of its Italian character) who are looking for a new bold perfume.

    Totally agree with below review.
I tested it today without knowing about it’s notes,it didn’t remind me of Angel or lancome LVEB even a bit,and I can’t call it a sweet perfume.all I could smell was lots of mentol-like patchouli,a sourish fruity note and some florals.it was pretty unisex IMO and I didn’t like it at all.but I loved it’s bottle as I always love Cavalli bottles
I guess I don’t have much luck with this brand’s perfumes.the only one that could pass a simple like so far was “just gold”

Guys! Come on.. How can it remind you of Angel Mugler and La vie est belle Lancome at the same time? Are these two similar?!
All that glitters is not gold. All that has patchouli is not Angel .. all that has black currant is not La vie est belle.

It starts very nicely with fruits and flowers, but after a while there is a lot of patchouli, amber and musk. Overall it’s not a bad scent, but it’s unimpressive.

Official website highlights these three as notes:
    ▪pathouli
    ▪amber
▪orange blossom (fleur d’orangeur). So you expect the whole composition to mainly give off these accords and the rest notes mentioned:
    ▪grapefruit petals
    ▪hibiscus seeds
    ▪blackcurrant
    ▪mandarin essence
    ▪musk
are simply complimentary and do not interfere much to the resulting scent of the juice. Which is true. This is how Florence smells and it is the best copy-cat of Angel created. It reminds you of LVEB because there is sweetness somewhere, but it is vague, not prominent. It reminds you of Si because of the blackcurrant touches here and there, also not becoming prominent. It’s not the patchouli that reminds you of LVEB or Si.
The patchouli is the one used in Angel full stop. It is honeyed just like the Angel one, and apparent, prominent and heady from the beginning and laced throughout the end with warm amber and the orange blossom as we know it from Classique and Opium Vapeurs de Parfum. Lasts more than six hours and projects heavily for the first three hours and then sits quiet on the skin, still potent, it’s not going anywhere.
Technically, this follows the patchouli-floral trend. It’s an addictive and captivating perfume. Sensual almost. The bottle is beautiful from up close, the purple colour matches the scent perfectly in my opinion. You could use Florence as a signature scent.
Despite its name, it does not rely on florals. Now, if you love Angel, you’re gonna love Florence.

I also get LVEB Lancome and Scandal JPG. Therefore nothing new. It is better than LVEB, but Scandal is maybe a little finer. It’s not as sweet as any of the above mentioned and patchouli so cedar get stronger, which makes it wearable for me as an evening/night scent.
Not bad but the liquid should have lived up to the beautiful bottle. Still, she will remain mine.

A cross between Armani Si and LVEB. Although not listed I get strong cedar note in the base reminiscent of the JPG Scandal. If you like these then Florence is right up your alley. It’s very tenacious and strong (one spray on the back of my hand and an hour later I nearly suffocated the taxi driver. It was so embarrassing).
I am disappointed because it does not recall anything about this beautiful italian city to me. The bottle is pretty though IRL.

Gorgeous bottle! The scent reminded me of Black opium upon initial spray, I could swear I smelled coffee. Very prominent patch, but not a dirty one. Bold night scent with heavy silage. Moderate longevity. New for Cavalli, but not new for the world of fragrance. In case one crave a exquisite perfume bottle, it’s a must-have.

Well, it definiately does not remind me of Angel or Angel Muse…not at all.
It is a heavy patchouli scent with some sour fruity-flowery freshness. No iris, no particular flowers, just some flowery sweetness. I kinda like this sour sweet thing, but it still isn’t enough to stand out – this is a smell you can find in every second perfume.

The symbol is a Red lily (inspired only by the iris). Those lilies are on the bottle, aren’t they?

The bottle is stunning and one would expect a fancy, tart, oriental perfume that matches the timeless italien charme of the city of Florence. Instead this is a very nowadays perfume with sweet and fruity ingredients, quite seductive and in the Cavalli line, good in its own way but not outstanding. When will perfumers ever creat an oriental masterpiece such as “Must de Cartier” or “Scherrer 2” again? We don’t need all this sweet stuff again and again.
In addition to the previous comments here: Yes, iris is missing here as ingredient, it would have given an exquisite restraint note to this otherwise opulent fragrance.

the bottle looks amazing, but as others mentioned it looks like it might be a run of the mill juice packaged in stunning bottle and iconic name. What’s with the orange, grapefruit and orange blossom? Florence is not on the Amalfi coast! And there really should be Iris in there. well…hope the notes somehow will come together;)

A xmas time release,a bottle that try to make forget the jus inside is very similar to other thousands perfumes. There is no iris (and it is very strange for a perfumed called Florence)and the risult is a total disappointment.Vanilline and patchouli. That’s all.

I love the bottle. But a perfume called Florence without a drop of Iris which is the symbol of the city? Too bad. There is nothing italian inside. Common sweet scent. It could have any name and any bottle with that juice inside.
I call this: a missed opportunity to do something different or targeted.

I don’t think, there is anything other than this for ladies to seduce there loved once. An antique Perfume bottle for their showcase to decorate

    Lovely bottle!
Hope it wont be a massive disappointment like ´Girl of now´ by Elie Saab with that beautiful bottle.
